Laundry management system project report.pdfKamal Acharya
Laundry firms currently use a manual system for the management and maintenance of critical information. The current system requires numerous paper forms, with data stores spread throughout the laundry management infrastructure. Often information is incomplete or does not follow management standards. Records are often lost in transit during computation requiring a comprehensive auditing process to ensure that no vital information is lost. Multiple copies of the same information exist in the laundry firm data and may lead to inconsistencies in data in various data stores.
A significant part of the operation of any laundry firm involves the acquisition, management and timely retrieval of great volumes of information. This information typically involves; customer personal information and clothing records history, user information, price of delivery and received date, users scheduling as regards customers details and dealings in service rendered, also our products package waiting list. All of this information must be managed in an efficient and cost wise fashion so that the organization resources may be effectively utilized.
We present the design and implementation of a laundry database management system (LBMS) used in a laundry establishment. Laundry firms are usually faced with difficulties in keeping detailed records of customers clothing; this little problem as seen to most laundry firms is highly discouraging as customers are filled with disappointments, arising from issues such as customer clothes mix-ups and untimely retrieval of clothes. The aim of this application is to determine the number of clothes collected, in relation to their owners, as this also helps the users fix a date for the collection of their clothes. Also customer’s information is secured, as a specific id is allocated per registration to avoid contrasting information.
Cosmetic shop management system project report.pdfKamal Acharya
Buying new cosmetic products is difficult. It can even be scary for those who have sensitive skin and are prone to skin trouble. The information needed to alleviate this problem is on the back of each product, but it's thought to interpret those ingredient lists unless you have a background in chemistry.
Instead of buying and hoping for the best, we can use data science to help us predict which products may be good fits for us. It includes various function programs to do the above mentioned tasks.
Data file handling has been effectively used in the program.
The automated cosmetic shop management system should deal with the automation of general workflow and administration process of the shop. The main processes of the system focus on customer's request where the system is able to search the most appropriate products and deliver it to the customers. It should help the employees to quickly identify the list of cosmetic product that have reached the minimum quantity and also keep a track of expired date for each cosmetic product. It should help the employees to find the rack number in which the product is placed. It is also Faster and more efficient way.
Embracing GenAI - A Strategic ImperativePeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.
2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

5. Feasibility Study
• A feasibility study aims to objectively and rationally uncover the strengths
and weaknesses of an existing business or proposed venture,
opportunities and threats present in the environment, the resources
required to carry through, and ultimately the prospects for success. in its
simplest terms, the two criteria to judge feasibility are cost required and
value to be attained.
• A well-designed feasibility study should provide a historical background of
the business or project, a description of the product or service, accounting
statements, details of the operations and management, marketing
research and policies, financial data, legal requirements and tax
obligations. generally, feasibility studies precede technical development
and project implementation.
• A feasibility study evaluates the project's potential for success; therefore,
perceived objectivity is an important factor in the credibility of the study
for potential investors and lending institutions. it must therefore be
conducted with an objective, unbiased approach to provide information
upon which decisions can be based.
6. TECHNICAL FEASIBILITY
The technical feasibility in the proposed system deals
with the technology used in the system. It deals with
the hardware and software used in the system whether
they are of latest technology or not. It happens that
after a system is prepared a new technology arises and
the user wants the system based on that technology.
This system use windows platform, PHP as Backend
technology and mysql as backend technology. Thus
ONLINE HOSTEL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM is
technically feasible.
7. ECONOMICAL FEASIBILITY
• Economic analysis is the most frequently used
method for evaluating the effectiveness of a new
system. More commonly known as cost/benefit
analysis. net using visual C# and sql database
easily available in internet
8. OPERATIONAL FEASIBILITY
• The project has been developed in such a way that
it becomes very easy even for a person with little
computer knowledge to operate it. This software is
very user friendly and does not require any
technical person to operate .Thus the project is
even operationally feasible.
9. REQUIREMENT ANALYSIS (REQ-1)
• Functions and features delivered to the end users
• The end users of the proposed system are:
• Administrator module:
In administrator module administrator manages
the master data’s like server details and student
details. Accept the application of students, view the
application forms, reject the fake applications, view
the complaints of the students in the hostel, accept
the vacating form and delete from the database,
edit the notice boards and view complaints.
10. REQUIREMENT ANALYSIS
• Student Module:
In student module, they can Submit
application form, change password, can check
status, view notice board, view monthly hostel
fee and submit the vacating form.
Manager Module
In Manager module, the Manager can calculate
the mess bill, and edit the mess menu, view the
notice board and also change the password.
11. SOFTWARE CONFIGURATION (Soft-1)(Soft-2)(Soft-3)
• A major element in building a system is the section of
compatible software since the software in the market is
experiencing in geometric progression. Selected
software should be acceptable by the firm and one user
as well as it should be feasible for the system.
• This document gives a detailed description of the
software requirement specification. The study of
requirement specification is focused specially on the
functioning of the system. It allow the developer or
analyst to understand the system, function to be
carried out the performance level to be obtained and
corresponding interfaces to be established.
12. SOFTWARE CONFIGURATION
Language for application
a) Front end tool : HTML,CSS,JAVASCRIPT,XHTML, PHP
Language Etc…
b) Backend : Xamp/ Apache (Sql Server)
c) Operating system : Windows 2007/2008
d) The system design is divided in to three portions. The
Administrator section ,hostel manager section and
student section
13. SOFTWARE CONFIGURATION
• 1 Administrator
• The Administrator can allot different students to the different
hostels.
• He can vacate the students for the hostels.
• He can control the status of the fee payment.
• He can edit the details of the students. He can change their
rooms, edit and delete the student records.
• 5.He can edit the news board 6.He can check the complaints
14. SOFTWARE CONFIGURATION
2. The Hostel Manager can :
Make the Mess menu
Make the mess bill & hostel bill
Give notifications in Notice Board
In input data design, we design the source document that
capture the data and then select the media used to enter
them into the computer. There are two major approaches for
entering data in to the computer. They are
15. SYSTEM IMPLEMENTATION (SytReq-1)
• Implementation is the stage in the project where the
theoretical design is turned into a working system and is
giving confidence on the new system for the users that it will
work efficiently and effectively. It involves careful planning,
investigation of the current system and its constraints on
implementation, design of methods to achieve the change
over, an evaluation of change over methods. Apart from
planning major task of preparing the implementation are
education and training of users. The implementation process
begins with preparing a plan for the implementation of the
system. According to this plan, the activities are to be carried
out, discussions made regarding the equipment and
resources and the additional equipment has to be acquired to
implement the new system. In network backup system no
additional resources are needed. Implementation is the final
and the most important phase.
16. SYSTEM IMPLEMENTATION
• The most critical stage in achieving a successful new system is giving the
users confidence that the new system will work and be effective.
• The system can be implemented only after thorough testing is done and if
it is found to be working according to the specification. This method also
offers the greatest security since the old system can take over if the errors
are found or inability to handle certain type of transactions while using
the new system. As the part of system testing we execute the program
with the intent of finding errors and missing operations and also a
complete verification to determine whether the objectives are met and the
user requirements are satisfied. The ultimate aim is quality assurance.
• Tests are carried out and the results are compared with the expected
document. In the case of erroneous results, debugging is done. Using
detailed testing strategies a test plan is carried out on each module. The
various tests performed are unit testing, integration testing and user
acceptance testing.
17. CONCLUSION
• To conclude the description about the project The project, developed
using HTML, XHTML & PHP and SQL SERVER is based on the
requirement specification of the user and the analysis of the existing
system, with flexibility for future enhancement.
• Online hostel management system is very useful for hostel allotment
and mess fee calculation . this hostel management software is
designed for people who want to manage various activities in the
hostel. For the past few years the numbers of educational
institutions are increasing rapidly. Thereby the numbers of hostels
are also increasing for the accommodation of the students studying
in this institution. And hence there is A lot of strain on the person
who are running the hostel and software’s are not usually used in
this context.
18. CONCLUSION
• particular project deals with the problems on
managing a hostel and avoids the problems which
occur when carried manually.
• Identification of the drawbacks of the existing
system leads to the designing of computerized
system that will be compatible to the existing
system with the system which is more user friendly
and more GUI oriented.
