• To start this class was an excellent
  experience, I learned a lot of important
  features of social media that will help me
  with future endeavors.
Google Adwords
• The week of Google Adwords was the
  most beneficial to me. It was a great
  opportunity to learn important features of
  advertising online, which helped generate
  ideas for advertising my music online.
Online Advertising Important
                  Aspects.
• A few important things to look at while tracking
  the success of your ad.

•   Cost Per Click-How much the advertiser pays per
    each click on ad. The advertiser can choose within
    a range.

•   Impressions-The number of times your ad was
    shown.

•   Average CPM-Totaled by the cost incurred from
    the ad/total impressions, then multiplied by 1000.
Advantages

• Advertising online has the capability to
  reach a global audience, fast.
• If choosing a low cost-per-click, it can be
  cheap.
• It enables target marketing, message
  tailoring, sales potential and speed.
Disadvantages

• If advertiser chooses an high cost-per-click,
  it can be expensive.
• Measurement of success problems.
• Potential for deception and lack of
  intrusiveness.
My Advertisement
• Taking what we learned with Adwords, I
  created my own advertisement that would
  promote my music.
Increase in Web Traffic
•   Since making my ad I have seen an large increase
    to those viewing my myspace profile. (3,300-6,366
    in one week)

•   My music has averaged nearly 148 plays per day in
    one week.
Actual Stats of Ad

• Below is the up-to-date stats that my ad
  has generated in one week.
Facebook and Myspace
            Friends.
•   Another benefit for myself since I made my ad
    active is the number of friends requests that are
    coming in.

•   Both my myspace and facebook have had a good
    amount of friend increase.

•   This is good for me, being a musician, the more
    friends and followers the better.
Online Advertising Overview
        From Myself.
• Figuring out how to do this effectively has
  been the missing link for myself since I
  started with music. Finally, my music is
  reaching a larger group of people.
• If not for the Adwords week I may still be
  looking for ways to get my name out there,
  which I was unsure of before.
Where I Am Now Compared
     To Where I Was

•   Since utilizing online advertising and its features
    has helped me a lot. I have not noticed any direct
    differences, but it is good to know that more
    people are viewing my profile and listening to my
    music, which is exactly what I want. It only takes
    one in the crowd.

•   I am better off than I was one week ago, because
    of my online advertising experience.
Anyone Can Do It.
• Taking in mind the advantages I listed in
  slides above, it is easy to see that online
  advertising can be an effective way for not
  just musicians, but any business wanting to
  gain global exposure. Who wouldn’t want
  that?
Importance of Online
       Advertising.
• As we have learned throughout the
  semester, the world is turning to the web.
• Businesses need to adapt to the shift to
  social media and its benefits.
• Those who do not utilize online marketing,
  may fall behind those who do.

  • 2. New Media DL • To start this class was an excellent experience, I learned a lot of important features of social media that will help me with future endeavors.
  • 3. Google Adwords • The week of Google Adwords was the most beneficial to me. It was a great opportunity to learn important features of advertising online, which helped generate ideas for advertising my music online.
  • 4. Online Advertising Important Aspects. • A few important things to look at while tracking the success of your ad. • Cost Per Click-How much the advertiser pays per each click on ad. The advertiser can choose within a range. • Impressions-The number of times your ad was shown. • Average CPM-Totaled by the cost incurred from the ad/total impressions, then multiplied by 1000.
  • 5. Advantages • Advertising online has the capability to reach a global audience, fast. • If choosing a low cost-per-click, it can be cheap. • It enables target marketing, message tailoring, sales potential and speed.
  • 6. Disadvantages • If advertiser chooses an high cost-per-click, it can be expensive. • Measurement of success problems. • Potential for deception and lack of intrusiveness.
  • 7. My Advertisement • Taking what we learned with Adwords, I created my own advertisement that would promote my music.
  • 8. Increase in Web Traffic • Since making my ad I have seen an large increase to those viewing my myspace profile. (3,300-6,366 in one week) • My music has averaged nearly 148 plays per day in one week.
  • 9. Actual Stats of Ad • Below is the up-to-date stats that my ad has generated in one week.
  • 10. Facebook and Myspace Friends. • Another benefit for myself since I made my ad active is the number of friends requests that are coming in. • Both my myspace and facebook have had a good amount of friend increase. • This is good for me, being a musician, the more friends and followers the better.
  • 11. Online Advertising Overview From Myself. • Figuring out how to do this effectively has been the missing link for myself since I started with music. Finally, my music is reaching a larger group of people. • If not for the Adwords week I may still be looking for ways to get my name out there, which I was unsure of before.
  • 12. Where I Am Now Compared To Where I Was • Since utilizing online advertising and its features has helped me a lot. I have not noticed any direct differences, but it is good to know that more people are viewing my profile and listening to my music, which is exactly what I want. It only takes one in the crowd. • I am better off than I was one week ago, because of my online advertising experience.
  • 13. Anyone Can Do It. • Taking in mind the advantages I listed in slides above, it is easy to see that online advertising can be an effective way for not just musicians, but any business wanting to gain global exposure. Who wouldn’t want that?
  • 14. Importance of Online Advertising. • As we have learned throughout the semester, the world is turning to the web. • Businesses need to adapt to the shift to social media and its benefits. • Those who do not utilize online marketing, may fall behind those who do.
