This document outlines the process for the 8th World Water Forum to be held in March 2018. Local and regional governments and basin agencies in France have provided around €250 million for over 300 water projects in developing countries per year. This decentralized cooperation represents around 1.5% of France's total water sector aid. The 2005 Oudin-Santini law requires local governments and agencies to dedicate 1% of water and sanitation budgets to international development projects. This has increased funding for access to water and sanitation in partner countries, benefiting millions of people.
