This document discusses occupational health hazards and diseases. It describes 5 main types of occupational hazards: physical, chemical, biological, mechanical, and psychosocial. Physical hazards include heat, cold, light, noise, vibration, and radiation, which can cause diseases like heat exhaustion, frostbite, deafness, and cancer. Chemical hazards like gases, dusts, and metals can lead to conditions like poisoning, pneumoconiosis, dermatitis, and cancer when workers are exposed through inhalation or skin contact. Biological hazards in healthcare, agriculture, and animal industries increase risks of diseases like anthrax, tuberculosis, and hepatitis. Mechanical and psychosocial hazards are also addressed.
