Indigenous Community Interview Paper
For my study, I will be collecting information regarding the provision and allocation of healthcare
resources and information. One of the main ways in which I which I will collect data is by
conducting interviews within the indigenous communities, specifically with mothers and the head
of households. I will conduct 32 total interviews with individuals within indigenous communities in
MГ©xico and Colombia who identify as indigenous and have stated that they have interacted with a
government healthcare official at least once in their lifetime. Due to time and financial constraints,
I will have to limit the indigenous communities I will interviewas it would be impossible to

Examples Of Euphemism In The Giver
Lois Lowry s book, The Giver, illustrates a futuristic society in which a strict law is enforced and
no citizen thinks of going against that law. There are no deviations from what is considered the
normal. A large contribution to the creation of their perfect society is keeping the public unaware
of things happening around them. Lowry helps create this perfect world by creating euphemisms in
their everyday speech where the main purpose is keeping the public from completely
understanding the whole truth. Not only did the euphemisms play a large part in the book, but
also, the author s own personal experiences and events that occurred around the same time as the
writing of the book helped to shape the book into what it is now. In 1994,... Show more content on

Lowry continues by explaining that by ignoring the girl it almost made her invisible; like she was
not there at all. That instilled a sense of comfort or safeness (Telgen 169). By shutting out the
different in her college dormitory all of the other girls felt a sense of comfort or safeness. This
feeling they created is very similar to the feeling Jonas community creates by controlling the
characteristics of their community and making sure that everything is the same and there are no
outliers. Other memories that Lowry used to create The Giver that were not mentioned in her
Newbery Acceptance speech were revealed in a book she wrote in 1998 called Looking Back: A
Book of Memories. In her book she was able to correlate the quote,
Lily, please hold still, Mother said again. Lily, standing in front of her, fidgeted impatiently. I can
tie them myself, she complained. I always have. I know that, Mother replied, straightening the
hair ribbons on the little girl s braids. But I also know that they constantly come loose and more
often than not, they re dangling down your back by afternoon. Today, at least, we want them to be
neatly tied and to stay neatly tied (Lowry 40). to growing up in 1911, when it was a time of ribbons

The Importance Of The First Amendment In The United States...
The United States Constitution was written in 1787 in Philadelphia to establish the national
government and guaranteed certain basic rights for citizens (History.com). Over the years, we
added new amendments but never considered changing the current amendments. Now is the
time to look at changing some of them to make it safer for us as citizens and to make our
country a better place. People have looked over the amendments and want some change. This
paper will give you the people a good look on why and how we could make the amendment
better. My first amendment I want to consider changing is the 2nd amendment the right to bear
arms. This amendment was created to allow anybody have and carry guns. I believe it should be
changed because of all the gun problems we have had including 9/11, and different other terrorist
attacks. My reasoning on why this needs to happen is simple, public terror is not protected under
the Constitution (Feinblatt). Some lawmakers have considered that open carry is threating public
safety. Now because it is legal in some states, open carry activists take full advantage of the
loophole in the 2nd amendment, which typically operates past the limits of the law (Feinblatt).
Until we close the open carry loophole in our laws the armed intimidation will continue to serve as
a strategy for more activists in our cities and towns (Feinblatt). All the problems that the U.S has
explained why some states sensibly and constitutionally reject the open carry

Sand Crabs
Our findings reveal that there is no significant difference in abundance, sex distribution, or size
distribution among the highly populated site, the partially populated site, and unpopulated site (p
values are all 0.05). Therefore, we cannot support our alternative hypothesis that increased human
presence results in the decreased presence, decreased size, and skewed sex ratio of sand crabs. As
a result, we accept our null hypothesis that the amount of human presence has no significant effect
on Emerita analoga population, distribution, or size. The results from this study mirror a similar
study on sand crabs in which researchers found no significant difference in sand crab abundance,
sex ratio, or size between developed and undeveloped areas (Murph Faulkes 2011). On the... Show

To start, our collections sites were fairly close to one another and were all located along Santa
Monica Beach; however, populations of sand crabs vary from beach to beach (Barnes Wenner
1968). Our study was done on a weekday, thus there were fewer people present at the beach than
desired for data collection. We also did not count ourselves as part of the human presence. Perhaps a
greater number of people, including ourselves in the count, and a greater difference of human
presence between the collection sites would yield us with more appropriate results. Furthermore,
any human error in collecting the samples, measuring the carapace, or identifying the sex of the
sand crabs may have altered our results. We conducted our experiment during the fall season,
whereas recruitment is most intense during the spring (Cox Dudley 1968), possibly resulting in the
complete dominance of females over males observed at all three locations. Lastly, factors that were

Descriptive Essay About A Tree
There s a flower garden in one corner, a garden with tomatoes and cucumbers in the other, and a
tall hedge that grows along the outer edge, where the edge of the yard buts up against the
neighbor s. There are two apple trees on either side that drop hundreds of red delicious every other
year or so; they make delicious apple sauce. One, large oaktree is the alpha of the yard; it lumbers
over the house and shades the entire lawn. This small, suburban yard not only housed my mother s
imagination, but mine and all my cousins as well. My grandparents backyard might seem ordinary,
but it is actually quite special. The giant oak tree, the shed, the swing set, and my grandmother s
gardenare all special locations in the yard that continue to be sacred places for me.
The outdoors has been one of my favorite places to be for as long as I can remember. As a child,
I spent most afternoons galloping across the yard and through the trees pretending I was various
animals or just being with the trees. I ve always felt extremely connected to all living things, so
it s no surprise that the massive oak tree in my grandparents backyard holds a special place in my
heart. The oak resides in the direct center of the yard and must be at least three feet in diameter.
This tree holds so much life, squirrels, birds and chipmunks constantly jump from branch to branch
and beautiful green leaves sprout across every square inch. I wanted to exist closer to this energy, I
wanted to experience what it

Form and Meaning of Happiness in Plato
An Analysis of the Form and Meaning of Happiness in Plato s Republic
I. Introduction
One of the central claims of Plato s Republic is that justice is not only desirable for its own sake,
but that it maximises the happiness of those who practice it. This paper examines Plato s arguments
in support of this thesis to determine (a) what he means by happiness, (b) to what extent it exists in
his proposed ideal state, and (c) whether this in any way substantiates his claims about the benefits
of justice. In particular, I will argue that there are two different conceptions of happiness at play in
The Republic, and two methods of achieving its highest form, namely the pursuit of justice and
philosophy, before arriving at a final definition of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, although this provides us with a way of categorising pleasure, it does not bring us any
closer to a theory of happiness, as there is no suggestion that it too has three different forms. From
this I conclude that Plato considers the notion of pleasure to be insufficient as an explanation of
happiness, and that these instead represent two different, but interrelated, concepts.
III. Happiness and Justice
In order to fully appreciate what Plato means by eudaimonia, we must instead consider the ways
in which it is supposedly achieved: namely, through the twin pursuits of justice and philosophy.
The first argument for this thesis is found at the end of Book 1 (352d 354a) where Socrates
states that everything has both a characteristic function and a virtue (or excellence) that enables it
to perform its function well. He goes on to say that living is the function of the soul, and justice
its characteristic excellence, from which it follows that the just man lives well and is therefore
happy. This is a classic piece of Socratic wordplay that relies upon a disputed, question begging
premise (justice being the virtue of the soul), two unsubstantiated assumptions (that the soul has
both a function and an excellence) and equivocation ( to live well is the same as to be happy ), all
of which renders it

The rise of the Safavids in the 15th century led to the reestablishment of a unified Iranian state and
national identity,[4] which followed the country s conversion to Shia Islam, marking a turning point
in Iranian and Muslim history.[5][23] By the 18th century, under Nader Shah, Iran briefly possessed
what was arguably the most powerful empire at the time.[24] The 19th century conflicts with the
Russian Empire led to significant territorial losses.[25][26] Popular unrest culminated in the
Constitutional Revolution of 1906, which established a constitutional monarchy and the country s
first legislature. Following a coup instigated by the United Kingdom and the United States in 1953,
Iran gradually became closely aligned with the West, and grew increasingly autocratic.[27]
Growing dissent against foreign influence and political repression led to the 1979 Revolution,
which followed the establishment of an Islamic republic,[28] a political system which includes
elements of a parliamentary democracy vetted and supervised by a theocracy governed by an
autocratic Supreme Leader .[29] During the 1980s, the country was engaged in a war with Iraq,
which lasted for almost nine years and resulted in a high number of casualties and financial loss for
both sides.

India, China And South Africa
INTRODUCTION.
BRICS is an emerging geopolitical acronym that has influenced the international system one way or
another. BRICS stands for Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. They share a common
political objective which is state sovereignty while increasing economic and social independence as
well as interdependence. India is one of countries in the BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and
South Africa) group which have been recognized for its phenomenal economic growth because of
globalization and this has moved the country from being considered a poor nation to being a
rising middle class country (Rao, 2004). India is a good example of a country that have benefitted
from globalization in some respects. It sustained a high and accelerated growth rate over the past 25
years making it the fourth largest economy in the world next to China. The Indian economy has
done very well in terms of the growth of the GDP (about 6 per cent per year in the real terms in
the 1990s, rising to more than 7 per cent in the last decade (Jean, Dreze Amartya Sen, 2013). To
understand India s development, it is necessary to understand its demography, its structure and
characteristics. It is not only the largest democracy in the world, but it also the second largest
country in the world because of its population (Raj, 2004, p.401). As of 2014, it has a population
of about 1,236,344,631, it rose by 1.25 per cent over the last years (Europa World Online, 2015). In

Not only did he knowingly commit these treasonous acts, he then went on to knowlingly lie about

similar to Nixon s involvement with the watergate scandal (except Nixon didn t order the covert

The Treasonous Actions of Reagan
The actions that Reagan took are treasonous because he, The President of the United States,

hostages. These are all acts that knowlingly gave aid to enemies of the United States, and therefore

Negative Aspects Of Social Media
Every night Charlene texts her best friend who she usually talks to all day. Charlene just
downloaded the new version of IOS 9 on her brand new iPhone 8; a leather case, new screen
protector, and front facing camera were included to ensure all her virtual communication needs.
Unfortunately, the blue pine at the front of her house snapped as forty miles an hour wind rushed
from the north. The magnificent beast slowly descended onto the electric power line, which
caused a blackout within every house on the block. Lights go out and nobody can communicate
except the family members in that household; however, without the social media realm, Charlene
finds herself crying, not from the darkness, but the loneliness that encircles her. Isolation becomes
an extremely possible realization because of the constant virtual communication. As hundreds of
millions of smart phones create an online social network, there may be disturbances happening
within the offline physical world. Most teens and adolescents are increasingly involved with the
digital universe; this creates problematic barriers. Growth of an individual depends on many
specific factors in daily life. Negative aspects of media, including change in physical well being,
social skills, and brain development ultimately create a decreased quality of life for the user. Life
continues to be influenced by social media on a daily basis, and this includes physical well being.

Fastpitch as a Subculture
A subculture is a group of people who have different characteristics than the larger culture they are
apart of. This may include different organizations, cliques, or clubs. You will see many different
subcultures by just walking around a high school. Whether it is jocks, nerds, goths, hipsters, etc.,
they all are different little cliques inside of the larger culture, high school. The jocks or athletic
subculture can be broken down even further into the different sports teams. Basically the softball
team is a subculture of the subculture of jocks.

Is It Better To Grow Up In A Small Town Essay
Some believe it is better to grow up in a big city. However it is more beneficial to grow up in a
small town. Rural communities have a lot to offer. It offers numerous benefits to living in a bigger
community. For example, they have several job opportunities offered to the residents. There is less
conflict between each other because half of the people don t even know eachother. Therefore,
everyone is minding their business and keeping to themselves. The bigger the community you live
in the more money the cityprobably makes, for example, they offer a better education and provide
more options as what a student wants to pursue in after graduating high school. In my opinion there
are more sights to see when there are more places to experience and explore, therefore stating
why a big city is better to live in. In a more populated area, it expands the opportunities for jobs
in the community when there are more options to choose from. It s difficult to live in a
populated area, but it benefits almost everyone around you trying to make a living as well as
you are. Resulting in a huge reason why families move to bigger towns for job offers or
opportunities. As everyone knows businesses thrive better in cities, because they have more
people needing the opportunity to work for them. If the staff increases, the business will grow as
well. Businesses provide jobs for numerous people to help the company and provide for the
employees to receive what they needin daily living. The

Yes Money Can Make You Happy By Cass R. Sunstein
Undoubtedly, money is and has been arguably the most important aspect of any society in the
world. Money is an essential piece of every day life because of the fact that nearly everything comes
with a price tag. With how important the aspect of money has become, there have been arguments
about whether money can truly make an individual happy. This particular topic has been highly
controversial with multiple different stands on the effect of money on happiness. With that being
said, money does influence people and makes them happier because they can live comfortably
without worry, it allows for many dreams to become realities, and it provides the opportunity to
give back and help others. First, money increases the happiness of people because... Show more

In many instances, people cannot give back because they desperately need the money themselves.
An increase in prosperity would present the opportunity to provide for themselves along with help
support people who are not as fortunate as them. To support the claim that giving back to others
produces happiness, Cass Sunstein, from the article Yes, Money Can Make You Happy writes, In
one study, the best prediction of people s happiness was not how much they devoted to personal
spending, but instead how much they gave to others (Sunstein 271). The study that was completed
produced findings that displayed a relationship between sharing with others and personal happiness.
Michael Norton also presented similar feelings during his TED talk presentation titled, How to Buy
Happiness. In this video presentation he describes a study that recorded the feelings of
undergraduate college students when it came to spending money. The method involved giving
these students money with the freedom of spending the money on themselves or on others. As a
result of the study, Norton shared, When we called people back at the end of the day, people who
spent money on other people got happier, while people who spent the money on themselves did not
change (Norton). Norton illustrates the benefit of spending money prosocially. Both of these

David Forte s Theory Of Constitutionalism
Originalism is the dominant theory of constitutional interpretation today. It is not an easy
undertaking understanding the original intent the framers of the Constitution. In his work David
Forte explains that there are many problems with the availability of evidence; the reliability of the
data; the relative weight of authority to be given to different events, personalities, and organizations
of the era; the relevance of subsequent history; and the conceptual apparatus needed to interpret the
data (Forte, 2014). With original intent being the interpretation of the United States Constitutionin
the present, how does one ascertain this original intent of the Constitution? The concept central to
constitutional interpretation is the notion of the intention or intent underlying a text. The word...

He goes on to say that just because certain activities did not exist in the times when the Constitution
was written, by their general language, they have given latitude to those who would later interpret
the instrument to make the language applicable to cases [they] might not have foreseen (Rehnquist,
1975). This opens the Constitution to a more fluid like approach. Yes, the Constitution cannot
resolve every question asked, not even every question of importance in our society. Originalism
does not remove controversy, or disagreement, but it does cabin it within a principled constitutional
tradition that makes real the Rule of Law (Forte, 2014). While the Constitution is slowly becoming
subject to changing interpretations according to the spirit of the times, the vague idea of a living

The Pros And Cons Of Clean Coal
Clean coal is proposed as being an emission cleaner form of regular coal, because it reduces the
amount of sulfur dioxide, and nitrogen oxide that is produced by burning coal. It does this by
removing impurities from the coal that are contributing to the higher emissions within regular coal,

Selfishness In Thomas More s A Man For All Seasons
Lacking consideration for others and only concerned with one s own person, profit, and pleasure.
The theme that prevails throughout the book is selfishness. A man for all seasons is about a man,
a very historical figure Thomas more, a well respected man by the king and his people. Thomas
More remained silent when it came to his judgment and thought over king henry s divorce.
Resulting, he resigns as chancellor of England and refused to take the oath. He thought he could
spare his life if he remained silent. Not long after he was imprisoned, tried and eventually executed.
Thomas Morewas a selfish man. The sacrifices that Thomas More makes and the set events that
happen throughout the play prove that Thomas More was a selfish man. Such things as resigning

Thomas more is trying to make Alice understand what he s going to do. More: Alice, if you can
tell me that you understand, I think I can make a good death if I have to. Again I choose this
quote because it really shows More s motive his real character. More was using the word death
like it was nothing. He was juggling around the word death as of it meant nothing to him. That
there shows that more was willing to go to extreme measures for his beliefs (pride). More s last
words of comfort to his daughter, More: Margaret, You have long known the secrets of my heart.
More is comforting his daughter with his last words and does not feel a single sense of guilt that
he is leaving his daughter to live without the father she loves. Instead of apologizing for his
choices he simply tells her that she was the only one that knew his heart. However, I know for a
fact that Margaret did not know or want to live without her father. This quote is saddening because
the separation of a father and daughter is overwhelmingly depressing. Thomas More putting his
family through this shows that he is absolutely

Rhinosinusitis Essay
The most common organisms associated with adult bacteria rhinosinusitis are Streptococcus
pneumoniae and Haemophilus influenza (Arcangelo, 2013). These organisms are the normal flora
seen in healthy individuals, when over populated, they invade the sinuses, causing acute
rhinosinusitis. Morazella catarrhalis is mostly seen in children. Other less frequently seen
organisms are A Streptococcus, Chlamydia pneumoniae and Streptococcus pyogenes (Arcangelo,
2013).
Causes of rhinosinusitis may include: allergy, or hay fever, humidity, cold air, alcohol, and
perfumes (Arcangelo, 2013). Other risk factors may also include overuse of nasal decongestants,
deviated nasal septum, nasal foreign body, frequent swimming or diving, dental work, pregnancy,...

acetaminophen for fever and aches, decongestants for stuffy nose or topical corticosteroids (may

patient has allergies (Arcangelo, 2013).
Antibiotics treatment should be prescribed to patients who do not improve or have worsening
symptoms after 7 days of observation (Arcangelo, 2013). Antibiotics should be considered if more
than of the following symptoms are present: fever 102℉, pain, tenderness of the ears, sinuses,
face, purulent color sputum, sore throat, dyspnea, and pleuritic chest pain without any improvement

Nonpharmacological therapy includes rest, proper hydration, hot shower, room humidifier, and
saline nasal flushes are shown to be helpful in relieving the symptoms of rhinosinusitis (Arcangelo,
2013).
The goal of medication therapy is to decrease the duration of symptoms, prevent compilations such
as meningitis or brain abscess and acute rhinosinusitis becoming chronic rhinosinusitis (Arcangelo,

organizational theory Essay
Question #1
Despite the economic progress brought about in part by scientific management, critics were calling
attention to the seamy side of progress which included severe labor management conflict, apathy,
boredom, and wasted human resources to examine the discrepancy between how an organization
was supposed to work versus how the workers actually behaved. In addition, factors like World War
I, developments in psychology and later the depression, all bought into question, some of the basic
assumptions of Scientific Management. (Internet) This is where the Human Relations School steps

To Mayo, this was not only the key to organizational success, but also the goal to achieving social
stability. He also viewed informal group processes as the promoting tool for social integration, as
well as stopping absenteeism, turnover, and discontent among employees.
Another important person at this time was Chester Barnard, who combined practical experience in
management and corporate affairs with a complex and sophisticated theory of organization and
human behavior. His focus projected from an emphasis on the organization to an analysis of the
nature of an individual. He placed priority on tension between the organization and the individual
noting that ...organizations are constructed for particular purposes, but they employ individuals
who may have widely divergent objectives and desires. (Jaffe, 74) Barnard noted that cooperation
was needed for the organization to work effectively and efficiently. He discussed in his book, The
Functions of the Executive, the relationship between incentives and contributions, and the need to
join these together to meet an equilibrium of some sort. He claimed that this system would satisfy
individuals and obtain contributions from them while at the same time making everyone happy. To
do this, he used distribution hoping to gain cooperative activity from the employees. The executive
needs to note that distribution can be good in one situation but

Why Is Archeology Important In American History
Archeology has been a great discovery that has contributed to our knowledge of American history
because if it wasn t for all the physical remains of the past we wouldn t be able to have a
comprehensive understanding of the culture in previous times, or the story itself of how everything
happened and became to be. All the American historywe know as we do is because of all the
evidences that prove the past existence, life, culture, intentions, and differences between people.
Some specific places where archeology has been found are in Jamestown, King William,
Chesapeake Bay, and Roanoke Island. In Jamestown we can find evidence about the first permanent
English colony in the New World, cannibalism, church ruins, and the lives of enslaved Africans

Losing Sight Analysis
William Kraft, a musical composer and conductor, once said, When you go to the theater, if you
re really involved in the play, you don t think about it you re in it. This quote from William Kraft
is especially true for the One Act plays I attended. The smaller theater space and closer proximity
to the stage allowed you to more involved in the playthan if you were seated farther away. In the
following response, a synopsis and critique of three of the plays I saw will be given.
The first act of the night was a play titled Losing Sight. To summarize this play, there was a talented
painter with diminishing vision. Because of his impending blindness, the painter tried to seclude
himself from and push away all his family and friends. With the help of his deceased grandfather
and ex girlfriend, the painter learned to accept his fate and return to life in the company of others.
The plot of Losing Sight is constructed around the painter s search for a new identity after his old
identity, which was found in painting, was taken from him. The plot follows a normal plot
structure beginning with an exposition and ending with a resolution. The three characters in the
play worked off each other nicely. The painter brought seriousness and sadness to the play while
the grandfather added a comedic side to the play that kept it from feeling overwhelmingly
depressing. The third character in the play was the painter s ex girlfriend who gave the painter

Plato’S Idea Of Civic Justice Displays A Criteria For...
Plato s idea of civic justice displays a criteria for specialization that holds each individual
responsible for producing their own rendition of excellence that leads to a just life, which
produces a just city, and ultimately civic justice. Plato describes civic justice as ...doing one s own
work provided that it comes to be in a certain way (433b pg.108).
The idea for a just city was constructed in the book, Plato Republic, and in that blueprint, the
ultimate goal was to have a just city, it should also be noted that before Plato there were numerous
theories of Justice. The other theories were proposed by Cephalus, Polymarchus, Trasymachus and

Correspondent to the three elements of human nature are three classes in the social organism,
Guardians which are the rulers or philosopher class or the ruling class which represented
reasoning; the auxiliaries, a class of warriors which guard the city is representative of the spirit;
Producers are farmers, artisans which are basically the lower run of the ladder.
The other side of the coin is the idea of being unjust, Plato describes this as, meddling and
exchange between these classes, there is the greatest harm...and the worst thing one could do to
the city is cause injustice (434c pg109). The meddling and exchange between classes refers to the
idea of not having specialization, consequently this type of behavior is expressed as harmful,
because it leaves room for individuals to produce mediocre abilities.
The idea that jobs were chosen according to one s own abilities and temperament gives an
individual the tools to become the best they possibly can be. If the people were allowed to
choose their own jobs, they might discover down the line that it was a mistake allowing room for
these types of mistakes could cause the city to no longer be considered just, because not all of the
parts would be working toward the common goal. There would be a segment of the population that
would have to find other means for employment which would better suit them; this would be a very
tedious and long process.

The poem Happiness by Raymond Carver captures one man s glimpse of happiness during an early

unexpected nature of happiness through his poem s imagery of youth, fractured structured, and
simple word choice. The imagery in the poem depicts a young and early morning, which mirrors
the sudden onset of happiness for the narrator. The narrator describes the scene as so early it s still

Mental Capacity Act Nvq 5

Act. These are designed to protect people who lack capacity to make particular decisions, but
also to maximise their ability to make decisions, or to participate in decision making, as far as
they are able to do so. There is a lot of detail in the MCA but there are some key principles that are
important to understand. 1 All adults have the right to make decisions for themselves unless it can
be shown that they are unable to make them. This means that people must not assume that someone
cannot make decisions for themselves just because they have a particular medical condition or
disability, or because they are of a particular age or appearance. 2... Show more content on

So you don t have time to attend a Time Management seminar, then here are four ideas to help
you create a more productive day. First, the key to such a day is to create more discretionary
time and use it more wisely. Second, remember you are not paid for work, you are paid for
results. Third, you need to control your day instead of it controlling you. The number one idea
is to begin by analyzing your typical day. To do this you need to do a simple Time Log. This is
done by taking an 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper and numbering each line in fifteen minute increments
starting with the time you arrive at work. (Note; do not start when you are supposed to be there but
when you actually arrive.) Then, throughout the day, record your activities. You need to do this for
two weeks. Then, look for time wasters and ways to create more discretionary time.
There are two kinds of time; discretionary meaning you have a choice of how to spend it, and non
discretionary that which is taken up by job functions, meetings, and appointment. Your time

Abnormal Hippocampal Structure
One of the most important findings in schizophrenia is an abnormal hippocampal structure (Weiss
et al., 2005). Evidence from post mortem examination and patient s brain imaging have shown the
decreased volume and the presence of an abnormality in the shape of the hippocampus (Bogerts et

findings have also been observed in individuals in the first episode or prodromal phase of
schizophrenia (Shenton Gerig et al., 2002). Structural imaging studies have suggested that reduced
hippocampal volume is extended through the frontal to posterior regions, and it is not restricted to
a particular region of the hippocampus(Weiss DeWitt et al., 2005). Studies have shown differences

al., 2005). Currently, it is extensively accepted that the hippocampus has an important role in
learning, long term and spatial memory. When the hippocampus is selectively injured, the person
shows a strong spatial memory impairment (Bohbot et al., 1998). It has been shown that spatial
navigation tasks involving the construction of the cognitive map, require hippocampus (Pigott et
al., 1993). These tasks evaluate the capacity of binding events (for example; changing direction)

Simulating Dialysis (Simple Diffusion)
1. Describe two variables that affect the rate of diffusion.
The temperature of the solutions and the difference in concentration of the ion or molecule between
the sides of the membrane
2. Why do you think the urea was not able to diffuse through the 20 MWCO membrane? How well
did the results compare with your prediction?
Since the chemical formula for urea is (NH2)2CO and its molecular weight is about 60. It will not
diffuse through the 20 MWCO membrane because it does not ionize.
3. Describe the results of the attempts to diffuse glucose and albumin through the 200 MWCO
membrane. How well did the results compare with your prediction?

Therefore it is completely independent from the glucose transport. As a result, adding Na+CI has no
effect on the glucose transport rate.
Simulating Osmotic Pressure
1. Explain the effect that increasing the Na_Cl_ concentration had on osmotic pressure and why it
has this effect. How well did the results compare with your prediction?
The Na+CI will diffuse through the 50 MWCO membrane but will not diffuse through the 20
MWCO membrane. So, adding more Na+CI with the 20 MWCO membrane increased the osmotic
pressure. Adding it to the 50 MWCO membrane did not result in any pressure whatsoever because it
diffused through this membrane.
2. Describe one way in which osmosis is similar to simple diffusion and one way in which it is
different.
One way they are the same is that they are both passive processes and the ions or molecules can
only pass down their concentration gradients. As far as being different, osmosis is a special form of
diffusion, is the diffusion of the solvent through a selectively permeable membrane.
3. Solutes are sometimes measured in milliosmoles. Explain the statement, Water chases
milliosmoles.
Osmosis is the diffusion of the solvent such as water. The water in this simulation diffuses to the
side of the membrane that has the highest concentration of the solutes.
4. The conditions were 9 mM albumin in the left beaker and 10 mM glucose in the right beaker

Enthusiastic Train Research Paper
Enthusiastic Trains Throughout the history of society of the past centuries, transportation was an
important role in everyday life. These technologies evolved over time as one important one
changed the way we live. Trains changed the way we got around, it changed the economic
landscape of America, as well as every aspect in society and culture. This tremendous tool still
helps millions of people to this day. In the United States, the present day train is cheaper than
flying. Most railway services offer discounts as it provides low costs for the average American, and
the prices are stable with no change, as there is no need to look at if the trends of prices do change.

Furthermore, before the railroad was around for trains to transport, it took roughly around six
months and one thousand dollars to go from New York to California. Once the railroad was
complete, it only took a week and one hundred and fifty dollars. Business travel was now easier
than before, which brought gargantuan business growth with cheaper distribution and expanding
markets because there was more possibilities for partnerships. The transcontinental railroad, the
biggest railroad for trains to transport at the time, opened on May 10, 1869. Within ten years,
the railroad would ship over fifty million dollars per year. This brought a boom to the economy,
bringing a faster pace of creating goods for the American people. Trains give people the
possibility of an elevated way to move commercial goods across the America. Trains carry over a
third of the freight on the railways, with thousands upon thousands of exuberant miles connecting
the major cities in our country. In downtown Oconomowoc, we have our own train station. It is
exciting to look outside on a walk or out of the car window to see a vast stature such as the the

Northwestern Men s Swimming Organizational Structure
Northwestern Men s Swimming as a Rational Organization
Rational Organizations Theory is an idea that has been motivated by social theorist Max Weber who
explains that traditionally, organizations were structured in a way that favored traditionalism,
where relationships, values, and other political agendas explained the framework for which an
organization was constructed and that over the course of time, this organizational structure will
continue to move towards a more modern platform promoting rational behavior, rational decision
making, and a rational culture. Rational organizations use formal structures to designate people and
positions of authority to specific tasks in order to improve predictability and calculability. Although
the behavioral characteristics of rational organizations are typically demonstrated in academia by
analyzing the structure and delegation of tasks within organizations like financial firms, small
businesses, and professional sports franchises, a space that is often overlooked is ... Show more

It is important to recognize that the bureaucratic structure of Northwestern Men s Swimming is
indicative of its rationality. There are delegated roles designed to allow different departments to
operate within their respective sphere of competences, which theoretically should translate to a
lubricated, rational organization. However, the idea of over rationalization and the iron cage of
rationality is not something that should be overlooked here. Weekly meetings with psychologists,
constant check ups with trainers, and the lack of an off season are all things that, when viewed
through the lens of rational decision maker, are things that should better the program in its entirety.
However, there comes a point when the returns to these investments begin to decrease, as over
rationalization may actually become irrational, and inhibit

A Summer Life rhetoric analysis
In his autobiographical narrative A Summer Life, Gary Soto vividly recreates the guilt felt by a six
year old boy who steals an apple pie. Through Soto s reminiscent he has taken us on a journey of his
guilt, paranoia, and redemption through the usage of tone, allusions, and imagery.
Since Soto knows stealing the pie is a sin his guilt is amplified when he ignores his knowledge.
Soto s guilt is emphasized through the tone of the story, my sweet tooth gleaming and the juice of
my guilt wetting my underarms... I nearly wept trying to decide which to steal. By Soto s tone
towards the pies over exaggerating on which one to steal shows that he is nervous and anxious. ...

When Soto refers back to Adam and Eve tells the reader that Soto is aware of his wrong doing but
ends up disregarding his prior knowledge and feels paranoid.
After stealing the apple pie and feeling guilty and paranoid Soto seeks redemption and shows that
through imagery. Soto tries to redeem himself by helping his sister but later has to crawl
underneath the house because the image of the kitchen swirling was too much, the kitchen
swirling with heat and flies this image resembles Hell. This image reveals that the guilt was too
much for Soto and that the crawling underneath the house resembles asking for forgiveness.
During the time Soto goes underneath the house and stays there he gives the image that Soto is
coming back alive and free of sin, I lay until I was cold and then crawled back to the light, rising
from one knew, then another . This image religiously represents that Soto is coming back from the
dead and rising into the light. This image shows that Soto is forgiven and that his sin for stealing
the apple pie is gone.
Throughout the story Soto feels guilty and seeks redemption because Soto steals the apple pie.
His guilt is magnified when he thinks everyone knows of his sin, and starts to develop paranoia.
The author s attitude towards guilt affects how he is behaving. By using imagery and allusions

Essay on Biography of Charles Manson
Charles Manson was the leader and founder of the cult the Manson Family or The Family, a
group of people well known for being serial killers in the late 1960 s. It was believed that they
were associated with cult quasi religious groups, that came about in the 1960 s and they are still
here today. They believe they know what the future of the planet is, when it will end, and how. In a

said that his mother once traded him for a pitcher of beer to a woman that couldn t have
children. His uncle had to go track down the women to get him back. Charles spent time in a boy

suffering from a marked degree of rejection, instability, psychic trauma, and constantly striving for

Sylvia Plath is a writer renowned for her intense and personal poems. But she is also known for
her semi autobiographical novel, The Bell Jar, a work very lightly veiled as fiction. In the
coming of age book The Bell Jar , Plath takes us into the mind of the 19 year old narrator, Esther
Greenwood, and her descending into the grip of mental illness. Set in the 1950s, Esther is a
bright and aspiring writer working as an intern for a busy magazine in New York along with
fellow college students. Her promiscuous friend Doreen sets her up on an ill fated date: but things
start to go downhill. On the date, a violent man nearly rapes her. Not only that, but she also goes

First, the novel opens with Esther reading a newspaper article of a morbid execution. The
dreadfulness of the execution and the grim thoughts of cadavers weigh on her. Additionally, she
tells the reader how she isn t feeling like she is having the time of her life, despite the envy that
comes from the hustle and bustle of living in New York City. I felt very still and very empty, the
way the eye of a tornado must feel, moving dully along the middle of the surrounding hullabaloo
. Definitely, throughout the novel, she is preoccupied with death and feels alienated: signs of
her depression. Speaking of alienation, Esther is indeed an unconventional woman for her time.
It must be noted that The Bell Jar takes place in the 1950s, a period where the feminine,
domestic, dutiful, good wife is the archetype that women are expected to follow. Needless to say,
Esther is rather interested in pursuing her ambition as a writer. However, we can see that she is
still wavering should she follow the constrictive women s roles of the 50s, or pursue her literary
passion? This brings us to the fig tree. The fig tree is a metaphor used in the novel that represents
all the things Esther could be a mother, a famous poet, a lover, and so forth. However, she could
not pick one fig because she is uncertain about her

Mikhail Gorbachev And The Soviet Union
During the 1900 s, the Soviet Union proved to be one of the most powerful and ruthless empires in
history. They had vast amount of land under their control, millions of people that came from
different ethnicities, and was one of the worlds strongest military power. However, through the
struggle for military power, economic factors, ethnic fragmentation it watched its mighty empire
crumble, and many blamed its president, Mikhail Gorbachevand his incompetent decisions for it.
Mikhail Gorbachev, who came from a longtime Communist party assumed office in March 1985.
Once Gorbachev was in office, he introduced two new set of policies that he hoped would help
the USSR become a more productive and prosperous nation. One of these new set of policies
was known as, Glasnost, which also meant political openness. Glasnost eliminated traces of
Stalinist repression, like the banning of books and the omnipresent secret police, and gave new
freedoms to Soviet citizens. These freedoms included, political prisoners were released.
newspapers could print criticisms of the government, and for the first time, parties other than the
Communist Party could participate in elections. However, Glasnost would ultimately fail, because
the public viewed it as a way for its leaders to cover up revealing past and recent atrocities,
missteps by leadership, social and health failures of the USSR and the true extent of national
economic problems. The other new policy was known as Perestroika, which also

The Vietnam War Film Genre
The Vietnam film is a specific sub genre of the conventional Hollywood war film that arose as a
result of the 1960s counter culture. According to Elliot Stegall s article Ideological, Dystopic, and
Antimythopoetic Formations of Masculinity in the Vietnam War Film many American war films
depicted the glorification of war and emphasized the concept of American masculinity (Stegall).
Previous to the Vietnam period, Hollywood war films stuck to contemporary tropes. These films
often re enact the idea of good versus evil in which the male hero of the film triumphantly fights for
their country against a vilified enemy; thus reinforcing the American ideology of conquering the
frontier (Schweitzer 67). The hollywood war films are often enjoyable... Show more content on

In Rich Schweitzer s article Born to Kill: S. Kubrick s Full Metal Jacket as Historical
Representation of America s Experience in Vietnam , he comments on the military s concern
with: how to inculcate civilians reared in a western tradition, which emphasized the sanctity of
life, with a willingness to kill (Schweitzer 64). Schweitzer s observation is most prominently
debated in the beginning of the film. Split into three segments, the film illustrates the phases of
re birth, life, and death. The opening sequence depicts re birth through the physical stripping of
the individual identity. As the hair of the recruits is shaved off while the men wear the same dull
blue capes, their faces begin to blur together into one unified identity. This is then furthered
when the recruits are forced to say an oath to their rifles during the beginning of their military
training on Parris Island. The scene is shot from one point perspective and displaying prominent
symmetry in the composition. The room is stark and clinical. The recruits are all dressed in white
which is a colour often associated with innocence. The men lay on their bunks in a head to toe
formation which parallels with the scene of the mass Vietnamese grave in which the bodies are
laid in the same manner and covered in white Lime powder. However, the putrid green colour is
reminiscent of death or rather the process of dying which is contrasted by the violent red of the floor.

Nursing Is Defined As Moral And Medical
Nursing is defined as moral and medical answer to human wants, covering scientific duty and
cure along with material, mental, divine and community care of persons and sets of persons
(Daly, Speedy Jackson, 2010). It includes the raise of health, the prevention of illness and the care
of ill, disabled and dying people (WHO, 2015). On the other hand, professional competence is the
capability to perform and demonstrate technical skills, abilities, knowledge, attitudes, values,

Traditionally, nursing education in Australia began with apprentices from public hospital whereby
they were paid full board and accommodation (Department of Health, 2014). Slowly, regulatory
bodies for nursing were recognized in each state and territory, which resulted in the introduction of
minimum standards for both the theory and clinical components of nurse training and the
accreditation of schools for general nursing education (Department of Health, 2014). State based
examinations were held at the end of the training period to qualify nurses (Department of Health,
2014). These agencies or authorities also had a register of those who had met the required
standards and were eligible to practice as registered nurses (Department of Health, 2014).
By the 1980s, many nursing education providers in the smaller, regional and rural hospitals had
closed, as they could not meet the stringent educational requirements of the state based nursing
registration boards (Department of Health, 2014). In the 1980s the health sector had seen a lot of
changes related to increase of technology and this put a pressure on health professionals to upgrade
and expand their practicing skills with theory and nursing practice hours hours over the three years
of training period (Department of Health, 2014). Many education providers outside the big cities
were shut down due to incompetent standards (Department of Health, 2014).

allowing each unit to focus on their areas of enterprise. They develop mobile services to attract

Does Matav s international expansion plans make sense? Why?
YES
Rational expansion experience with the success of MakTel made Matav as a local expertise in
Southern Europe: Matav transferred its knowledge of a financial control system, professional
regulatory management and tariff packages to rebalance fixed line fees . Maktel increased the
number of fixed lines by 21 percent from 2000 to 2003 and mobile subscribers were five times
higher in 2003 than in 2000. MakTel s performance was a possibility to show Deutsche Telecom
that Matav was capable. After result of MakTel, Deutsche Telecom offers it capital and other
financial support and treats Matav like a Central/Eastern European hub. An unsaturated market in
fixed line and mobile business made Montenegro a place worth to be acquiring. Also, Macedonian
experience helped Matav get into the Balkans become a lot more international.
If you were a member of the strategy group, what would you recommend as a mid term strategy to

Matav will achieve continuous growth while remaining an integrated telecommunication company.

Contract Law From Law And Economics Perspective
b.Contract Law from Law and Economics Perspective
Voluntary exchange is of the utmost importance in being able to transfer resources from less to
more valuable uses and to the hands of those that value them the most. This process of exchange
does not face many obstacles when the parties to a transaction can perform their obligations in a
simultaneous manner. In today s world, most transfers of resources occur through contracts and
require agreements as to how, where, and at what price the transfer will occur at some time in the
future. This is why protection of contract rights is essential.
While voluntary exchange would not necessarily break down entirely without any form of contract
law, it would be highly inefficient. In a legal ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If efficiency is not enforced through contract law it will bias investment toward economic activity
that can only be conducted in a short time period. This will reduce efficiency in the market and lead
to misallocation of resources.
Here is a simple example of how the lack of contract law s existence would affect how parties
interacted in the sale of goods and services. Professor Chrisman has advertised that he has a hog
(not to be confused with a pig), worth $100 to him, for sale and now has two potential
purchasers. Buyer one, Professor Todd, has offered to purchase the hog today from $150 (he is
risk adverse and believes that price of pigs is going to increase drastically over the next year).
Buyer two, Professor Hesch, has offered to purchase the hog next Saturday at graduation for
$200. If Professor Chrisman lives in a system without contract law he will accept Professor Todd
s offer of $150 today because he will be worried that Professor Hesch will change his mind before
graduation and Professor Todd will have bought another hog. The law s failure to enforce contract
law has caused an inefficient misallocation of resources because Professor Chrisman cannot
enforce the promise made by Professor Hesch and will not be incentivized to take the risk of
selling the hog to him.
The single purpose and goal of all contract law is to impose contract liability only where it creates
incentives to encourage value maximizing conduct in the future.

Like any good method, this card counting method had a couple of glitches which lead to its down

  • 4. Examples Of Euphemism In The Giver Lois Lowry s book, The Giver, illustrates a futuristic society in which a strict law is enforced and no citizen thinks of going against that law. There are no deviations from what is considered the normal. A large contribution to the creation of their perfect society is keeping the public unaware of things happening around them. Lowry helps create this perfect world by creating euphemisms in their everyday speech where the main purpose is keeping the public from completely understanding the whole truth. Not only did the euphemisms play a large part in the book, but also, the author s own personal experiences and events that occurred around the same time as the writing of the book helped to shape the book into what it is now. In 1994,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Lowry continues by explaining that by ignoring the girl it almost made her invisible; like she was not there at all. That instilled a sense of comfort or safeness (Telgen 169). By shutting out the different in her college dormitory all of the other girls felt a sense of comfort or safeness. This feeling they created is very similar to the feeling Jonas community creates by controlling the characteristics of their community and making sure that everything is the same and there are no outliers. Other memories that Lowry used to create The Giver that were not mentioned in her Newbery Acceptance speech were revealed in a book she wrote in 1998 called Looking Back: A Book of Memories. In her book she was able to correlate the quote, Lily, please hold still, Mother said again. Lily, standing in front of her, fidgeted impatiently. I can tie them myself, she complained. I always have. I know that, Mother replied, straightening the hair ribbons on the little girl s braids. But I also know that they constantly come loose and more often than not, they re dangling down your back by afternoon. Today, at least, we want them to be neatly tied and to stay neatly tied (Lowry 40). to growing up in 1911, when it was a time of ribbons Along with her childhood playing a key role in ... • 5. The Importance Of The First Amendment In The United States... The United States Constitution was written in 1787 in Philadelphia to establish the national government and guaranteed certain basic rights for citizens (History.com). Over the years, we added new amendments but never considered changing the current amendments. Now is the time to look at changing some of them to make it safer for us as citizens and to make our country a better place. People have looked over the amendments and want some change. This paper will give you the people a good look on why and how we could make the amendment better. My first amendment I want to consider changing is the 2nd amendment the right to bear arms. This amendment was created to allow anybody have and carry guns. I believe it should be changed because of all the gun problems we have had including 9/11, and different other terrorist attacks. My reasoning on why this needs to happen is simple, public terror is not protected under the Constitution (Feinblatt). Some lawmakers have considered that open carry is threating public safety. Now because it is legal in some states, open carry activists take full advantage of the loophole in the 2nd amendment, which typically operates past the limits of the law (Feinblatt). Until we close the open carry loophole in our laws the armed intimidation will continue to serve as a strategy for more activists in our cities and towns (Feinblatt). All the problems that the U.S has explained why some states sensibly and constitutionally reject the open carry ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Sand Crabs Our findings reveal that there is no significant difference in abundance, sex distribution, or size distribution among the highly populated site, the partially populated site, and unpopulated site (p values are all 0.05). Therefore, we cannot support our alternative hypothesis that increased human presence results in the decreased presence, decreased size, and skewed sex ratio of sand crabs. As a result, we accept our null hypothesis that the amount of human presence has no significant effect on Emerita analoga population, distribution, or size. The results from this study mirror a similar study on sand crabs in which researchers found no significant difference in sand crab abundance, sex ratio, or size between developed and undeveloped areas (Murph Faulkes 2011). On the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... To start, our collections sites were fairly close to one another and were all located along Santa Monica Beach; however, populations of sand crabs vary from beach to beach (Barnes Wenner 1968). Our study was done on a weekday, thus there were fewer people present at the beach than desired for data collection. We also did not count ourselves as part of the human presence. Perhaps a greater number of people, including ourselves in the count, and a greater difference of human presence between the collection sites would yield us with more appropriate results. Furthermore, any human error in collecting the samples, measuring the carapace, or identifying the sex of the sand crabs may have altered our results. We conducted our experiment during the fall season, whereas recruitment is most intense during the spring (Cox Dudley 1968), possibly resulting in the complete dominance of females over males observed at all three locations. Lastly, factors that were not in our control such as salinity, temperature, tide height, wave impact, and nutrient availbility may have also influenced our ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Descriptive Essay About A Tree There s a flower garden in one corner, a garden with tomatoes and cucumbers in the other, and a tall hedge that grows along the outer edge, where the edge of the yard buts up against the neighbor s. There are two apple trees on either side that drop hundreds of red delicious every other year or so; they make delicious apple sauce. One, large oaktree is the alpha of the yard; it lumbers over the house and shades the entire lawn. This small, suburban yard not only housed my mother s imagination, but mine and all my cousins as well. My grandparents backyard might seem ordinary, but it is actually quite special. The giant oak tree, the shed, the swing set, and my grandmother s gardenare all special locations in the yard that continue to be sacred places for me. The outdoors has been one of my favorite places to be for as long as I can remember. As a child, I spent most afternoons galloping across the yard and through the trees pretending I was various animals or just being with the trees. I ve always felt extremely connected to all living things, so it s no surprise that the massive oak tree in my grandparents backyard holds a special place in my heart. The oak resides in the direct center of the yard and must be at least three feet in diameter. This tree holds so much life, squirrels, birds and chipmunks constantly jump from branch to branch and beautiful green leaves sprout across every square inch. I wanted to exist closer to this energy, I wanted to experience what it ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Form and Meaning of Happiness in Plato An Analysis of the Form and Meaning of Happiness in Plato s Republic I. Introduction One of the central claims of Plato s Republic is that justice is not only desirable for its own sake, but that it maximises the happiness of those who practice it. This paper examines Plato s arguments in support of this thesis to determine (a) what he means by happiness, (b) to what extent it exists in his proposed ideal state, and (c) whether this in any way substantiates his claims about the benefits of justice. In particular, I will argue that there are two different conceptions of happiness at play in The Republic, and two methods of achieving its highest form, namely the pursuit of justice and philosophy, before arriving at a final definition of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, although this provides us with a way of categorising pleasure, it does not bring us any closer to a theory of happiness, as there is no suggestion that it too has three different forms. From this I conclude that Plato considers the notion of pleasure to be insufficient as an explanation of happiness, and that these instead represent two different, but interrelated, concepts. III. Happiness and Justice In order to fully appreciate what Plato means by eudaimonia, we must instead consider the ways in which it is supposedly achieved: namely, through the twin pursuits of justice and philosophy. The first argument for this thesis is found at the end of Book 1 (352d 354a) where Socrates states that everything has both a characteristic function and a virtue (or excellence) that enables it to perform its function well. He goes on to say that living is the function of the soul, and justice its characteristic excellence, from which it follows that the just man lives well and is therefore happy. This is a classic piece of Socratic wordplay that relies upon a disputed, question begging premise (justice being the virtue of the soul), two unsubstantiated assumptions (that the soul has both a function and an excellence) and equivocation ( to live well is the same as to be happy ), all of which renders it ... The rise of the Safavids in the 15th century led to the reestablishment of a unified Iranian state and national identity,[4] which followed the country s conversion to Shia Islam, marking a turning point in Iranian and Muslim history.[5][23] By the 18th century, under Nader Shah, Iran briefly possessed what was arguably the most powerful empire at the time.[24] The 19th century conflicts with the Russian Empire led to significant territorial losses.[25][26] Popular unrest culminated in the Constitutional Revolution of 1906, which established a constitutional monarchy and the country s first legislature. Following a coup instigated by the United Kingdom and the United States in 1953, Iran gradually became closely aligned with the West, and grew increasingly autocratic.[27] Growing dissent against foreign influence and political repression led to the 1979 Revolution, which followed the establishment of an Islamic republic,[28] a political system which includes elements of a parliamentary democracy vetted and supervised by a theocracy governed by an autocratic Supreme Leader .[29] During the 1980s, the country was engaged in a war with Iraq, which lasted for almost nine years and resulted in a high number of casualties and financial loss for both sides. • 10. India, China And South Africa INTRODUCTION. BRICS is an emerging geopolitical acronym that has influenced the international system one way or another. BRICS stands for Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. They share a common political objective which is state sovereignty while increasing economic and social independence as well as interdependence. India is one of countries in the BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) group which have been recognized for its phenomenal economic growth because of globalization and this has moved the country from being considered a poor nation to being a rising middle class country (Rao, 2004). Charlene just downloaded the new version of IOS 9 on her brand new iPhone 8; a leather case, new screen protector, and front facing camera were included to ensure all her virtual communication needs. Unfortunately, the blue pine at the front of her house snapped as forty miles an hour wind rushed from the north. Lights go out and nobody can communicate except the family members in that household; however, without the social media realm, Charlene finds herself crying, not from the darkness, but the loneliness that encircles her. Isolation becomes an extremely possible realization because of the constant virtual communication. As hundreds of millions of smart phones create an online social network, there may be disturbances happening within the offline physical world. Most teens and adolescents are increasingly involved with the digital universe; this creates problematic barriers. Growth of an individual depends on many specific factors in daily life. There is less conflict between each other because half of the people don t even know eachother. Therefore, everyone is minding their business and keeping to themselves. The bigger the community you live in the more money the cityprobably makes, for example, they offer a better education and provide more options as what a student wants to pursue in after graduating high school. This opens the Constitution to a more fluid like approach. Yes, the Constitution cannot resolve every question asked, not even every question of importance in our society. The smaller theater space and closer proximity to the stage allowed you to more involved in the playthan if you were seated farther away. In the following response, a synopsis and critique of three of the plays I saw will be given. The first act of the night was a play titled Losing Sight. With the help of his deceased grandfather and ex girlfriend, the painter learned to accept his fate and return to life in the company of others. The plot of Losing Sight is constructed around the painter s search for a new identity after his old identity, which was found in painting, was taken from him. The plot follows a normal plot structure beginning with an exposition and ending with a resolution. The three characters in the play worked off each other nicely. On the Ray Auditory Verbal Learning Test, long term users recalled significantly fewer words than either short term users or controls, Solowij reported. Undoubtedly, marijuana use corrupts memory and other cognitive functions. Therefore, marijuana use causes mental damage to the user. The main stereotype with marijuana is that it reduces motivation. Symptoms of amotivation include confusion and diminishing performance. It seems as though marijuana and amotivation remains as a chicken and egg question. It is unknowable whether smoking cannabis causes amotivation. Moreover, these could by symptoms of just growing up (Macintosh, sec. 9). On the contrary, this is untrue. One reason the pursuit of happiness evokes such hardships likes within the innate spontaneous nature of happiness. The poem Happiness by Raymond Carver captures one man s glimpse of happiness during an early morning watching two paper boys pass through the neighborhood. These are designed to protect people who lack capacity to make particular decisions, but also to maximise their ability to make decisions, or to participate in decision making, as far as they are able to do so. There is a lot of detail in the MCA but there are some key principles that are important to understand. 1 All adults have the right to make decisions for themselves unless it can be shown that they are unable to make them. First, the key to such a day is to create more discretionary time and use it more wisely. Second, remember you are not paid for work, you are paid for results. Third, you need to control your day instead of it controlling you. The number one idea is to begin by analyzing your typical day. To do this you need to do a simple Time Log. This is done by taking an 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper and numbering each line in fifteen minute increments starting with the time you arrive at work. (Note; do not start when you are supposed to be there but when you actually arrive.) Then, throughout the day, record your activities. You need to do this for two weeks. Then, look for time wasters and ways to create more discretionary time. There are two kinds of time; discretionary meaning you have a choice of how to spend it, and non discretionary that which is taken up by job functions, meetings, and appointment. Your time ... Evidence from post mortem examination and patient s brain imaging have shown the decreased volume and the presence of an abnormality in the shape of the hippocampus (Bogerts et al., 1990; Nelson et al., 1998; Wright et al., 2000; Shenton et al., 2002). These neuroimaging findings have also been observed in individuals in the first episode or prodromal phase of schizophrenia (Shenton Gerig et al., 2002). Structural imaging studies have suggested that reduced hippocampal volume is extended through the frontal to posterior regions, and it is not restricted to a particular region of the hippocampus(Weiss DeWitt et al., 2005). An unsaturated market in fixed line and mobile business made Montenegro a place worth to be acquiring. Also, Macedonian experience helped Matav get into the Balkans become a lot more international. • 52. Contract Law From Law And Economics Perspective b.Contract Law from Law and Economics Perspective Voluntary exchange is of the utmost importance in being able to transfer resources from less to more valuable uses and to the hands of those that value them the most. This process of exchange does not face many obstacles when the parties to a transaction can perform their obligations in a simultaneous manner. In today s world, most transfers of resources occur through contracts and require agreements as to how, where, and at what price the transfer will occur at some time in the future. This is why protection of contract rights is essential. While voluntary exchange would not necessarily break down entirely without any form of contract law, it would be highly inefficient. In a legal ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If efficiency is not enforced through contract law it will bias investment toward economic activity that can only be conducted in a short time period. This will reduce efficiency in the market and lead to misallocation of resources. Here is a simple example of how the lack of contract law s existence would affect how parties interacted in the sale of goods and services. Professor Chrisman has advertised that he has a hog (not to be confused with a pig), worth $100 to him, for sale and now has two potential purchasers. Buyer one, Professor Todd, has offered to purchase the hog today from $150 (he is risk adverse and believes that price of pigs is going to increase drastically over the next year). Buyer two, Professor Hesch, has offered to purchase the hog next Saturday at graduation for $200. If Professor Chrisman lives in a system without contract law he will accept Professor Todd s offer of $150 today because he will be worried that Professor Hesch will change his mind before graduation and Professor Todd will have bought another hog. The law s failure to enforce contract law has caused an inefficient misallocation of resources because Professor Chrisman cannot enforce the promise made by Professor Hesch and will not be incentivized to take the risk of selling the hog to him. The single purpose and goal of all contract law is to impose contract liability only where it creates incentives to encourage value maximizing conduct in the future. ... As you see, in the Uston Advanced Plus Minus System five cards are esteemed at +1,five cards are esteemed at 1, and three cards get a value of 0 and are not joined to the running count. This allows things to be simple for the starting card counter in light of the fact that each card that is excluded can be scratched off by the existence of another card. When this system is used in a blackjack game, the player easily removes sets of cards that counteracts or voids each other. The cards that remain during a round are added in with the running count. Obviously, straightforwardness does not generally measure up to effectiveness. The Uston Advanced Plus Minus system gives one of the most reduced edges to be discovered among card tallying ...
