2. NON VERBAL BEHAVIOR

3. Definition-
● Non verbal behavior refers to
transmitting information without using
words or language.
● Nonverbal behavior refers to gestures,
facial expressions, tone of voice, eye contact
, body language, posture, and other ways
people can communicate without using
language.

4. Types Of Nonverbal Behavior's
1. Facial Expression -
The face is an important communicator. It
is commonly said that face is the index of
the mind.
It expresses the type of emotions or feelings
such as joy, love, interest, sorrow, anger,
annoyance, confusion, enthusiasm, fear,
hatred surprise, and uncertainty.

5. 2 . Eye Contact -
The eyes play an important role in nonverbal
communication and such things as looking,
staring and blinking are important nonverbal
behaviors.
Normal, steady eye contact is often taken
as a sign that a person is telling the truth
and is trustworthy.

6. Shifty eyes and an inability to maintain eye
contact, on the other hand, is frequently seen as
an indicator that someone is lying or being
deceptive.
3. Paralinguistics -
Paralinguistics refers to vocal communication
that is separate from actual language.

7. This includes factors such as tone of voice,
loudness, inflection, and pitch.
When said in a strong tone of voice, listeners might
interpret approval . The same words said in a
hesitant tone of voice might convey disapproval .
4. Body movement and posture -
We communicate numerous messages
by the way we walk, talk, stand and sit.

8. 5 .Touch -
hand gestures or nodding or shaking the head,
which are often the easiest element of
nonverbal behavior.
Touch is a widely used form of non-
verbal communication tool
By touching, one can express a wide range
of emotions
These signs of touch are meant to be
comforting while forging a connection.
