Income inequality in the United States has soared to the highest levels since the

Economic inequality has sparked many voices, some which have even been grappled
in literature. This issue is not only effecting the people who face these barriers, but as
well as the United State s financial system, which has made economic expansion
difficult to accomplish. By executing simple actions, the imbalanced gap can be
narrowed. Such actions include raising the minimum wage or increasing taxes on the
wealthy.
Data from the U.S. Census Bureau shows that counties with Native American
reservations have some of the highest income inequality in the state of South
Dakota. A Gini index shows that there is a large gap between the state s median
and the income that the Indians on the reservations receive. This is a problem in all
of the U.S. Growth becomes more fragile when the gap is as high as the United
State s. This also causes a less stable economic expansion.
The number of youth suicides on the Pine ridge reservations are increasing
