Music Plays A Influence On My Life
Music plays a tremendous role in my life and always has. From the age of five, my
parents introduced to me to one particular type of music, which was gospel and it
has been a part of who I am ever since. I can remember waking up early on Sunday
morning hearing gospel music from artist such as Kim Burrell, Shirley Caesar, and
Mary Mary. I began learning these particular gospel songs and then I gained the
courage to sing these songs in church. At that moment, I knew singing was a passion
of mine and musicbecame food to my soul. I would have to say the moment in my
life where I strongly became influenced by music was as a child between the ages of
five and twelve.
Then when I entered middle school, I joined the school band. I played two
instruments, the trombone and trumpet. Although I truly enjoyed playing those two
instruments, I ve always dreamed of playing the piano or violin but I never gained
the opportunity to receive lessons. During the seventh grade, I joined the Needwood
Middle School Choir. We sung gospel music and Christmas music during the holiday
season. With gaining so much musical experience during my time in Middle School,
my church appointed me to Youth Choir Director for Salem St. John Baptist Church.

Know...
Introduction Technology s evolution has shaped the world of business we know
today. It was absolutely necessary, just a few decades ago, to be present in a
physical work place for one s occupation; being if that occupation involved an office.
Today, a company of two hundred people can be run from all remote locations. This
is thanks to virtual teams, with the use of varying applications of course. According
to Harvard Business Review, a virtual teamis a team made up of members all in
different physical locations (Ferrazi). Although not one hundred percent effective,
technology is continually evolving and is making this concept more available and
popular among businesses. As this team concept has become popular, I continue to
meet more people whom have participated in such. In an attempt to understand these
team atmospheres further, and the communicationinvolved, I interviewed two people
who are currently managers of their own virtual teams; the first was Meredith and
second was Jerome. For this paper, I will examine each of these interviews and then
compare the two. Asking five questions to both, there were many similarities
between the two; and also a few surprising moments. Let s take a look.
The Interviews Meredith is an advisor at Southern New Hampshire University, and
she heads the division for students whom are employed full time. This role requires
her to lead a virtual team, along with her boss, using multiple platforms to do so.

performance and reduce the teachers turnover rate. Group Development The five
stages of group development are: Forming, Storming, Norming, Performing and

forming, and it is characterized by a great deal of uncertainty about the group s

is settling down and a relatively clear hierarchy of leadership in the group, it is

cohesiveness. (Robbins, 2014) Members are building close relationship with each
other and the group become cohesiveness. When a group structure solidifies and has
assimilated a common set of expectations of what defines correct member behavior,
(Robbins, 2014) it is time to move to the fourth stage performing. At this point, each
member has known and accepted each other and they can work together to complete

Abrahams, both have a love and talent for running. This talent, however, is lived in

beautiful shades and rays of the womans complexion make her a nameless grace (2,

sense that she is pure and innocent on the inside so she radiates that beauty on the

At the end of the Sino Japanese War the Guomindang held significant advantages
over the Communists, with its widely recognised legitimate government controlling
China, giving it the power to tax and conscript. On the other hand, the Communists
could not match the Guomindang s troops in terms of training and equipment and

It is no secret that students will perform to a higher degree when in an environment
that is safe and inclusive. We as teachers are responsible for creating these safe
environments and there are many different components that makeup a successful
classroom environment. In the following reflection I will discuss strategies that I
