Simulated teaching is a teacher training technique where the teaching process is practiced artificially by assigning roles and selecting teaching skills. It introduces pupil teachers to teach in non-stressful conditions prior to classroom practice, with the goal of developing specific communication skills. The steps include assigning roles, selecting teaching skills, preparing a work schedule, determining an observation schedule, organizing practice sessions and discussions, and altering roles. Simulated teaching bridges the gap between theory and practice by developing various teaching skills and building self-confidence, while discussions provide immediate feedback. While it takes place in an artificial situation, research shows that with the proper function, simulated teaching can effectively prepare education students for real teaching experiences by equipping them with necessary competencies.
