The document analyzes donor data from different generations over time. Younger generations like Generation X and Y have been increasing in both number of households and total donation amounts. The data also examines trends in ticket buyers versus subscribers over time and across generations, finding that subscriber rates tend to be highest among older generations who have more long-term engagement with arts organizations.

The panel's premise was that, with opera audiences growing older, companies must focus their attention on new generations of support. While development departments may have mastered the appeal to traditionalists and baby boomers, Gen Xers and millennials are looking for something else. Attendees at this standing-room only session learned what the data says about these patrons, what matters to next gen donors, and how opera companies can engage them.

This research suggests news sentence network analysis algorithm based on similarity and cooccurence. News contains abundant arguments with facts and quotes those are critical to represent agendas. News sentence network is a semantic network which consists of quotes as nodes. Connectivity is defined by relevance between quotes. Relevance matrix is the sum of similarity matrix calculated by cosine similarity algorithm and cooccurence matrix. This study analyzed 949 quotes from 405 news articles and visualized networks. The results verified that semantic paths were well defined to show the sequence of sub-agendas. News semantic network analysis algorithm can provide a methodology to automatically generate a massive corpus in a sentence level as a training set to develop a debating machine.
