Nestor was a wise hero of the Trojan War who was king of Pylos after Heracles killed his parents. As king, he fought as an Argonaut against centaurs and later fought alongside his sons against the Trojans. Nestor and his sons fought for the Greeks in the Trojan War following Helen's abduction, and though old, he was useful in advising others to help ensure the Greek victory. Telemachus later visited Nestor to learn more about his father Odysseus, and Nestor told him stories of Odysseus' glory and role in the Trojan War.
