The Neolithic Revolution began around 10,000 years ago when people first learned to domesticate plants and animals, marking the first agricultural revolution. As the last Ice Age ended and large game animals died out, making food scarce, people relied more on gathering plant foods and began domesticating animals for survival. This led to farming settlements that grew into villages with specialized division of labor, increased productivity, easier living standards, and more trade, ultimately developing the earliest civilizations.
