Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

6 October 1963. The Nehru Zoological Park is run by forest department,
Government of A.P, and is named after the first prime minister of
the country, Jawaharlal Nehru.
6. OVERALL VIEW OF WHAT IT
HAS..
The biggest zoo in India has 100 species of birds, animals, and reptiles
of different breeds. It also includes inherited animals like Indian rhino,
panther, Indian python, antelopes and different species of ,tiger
birds. The Mir Tank lake is also another attraction in the Zoo as it’s
the home for hundreds of migratory birds. Through this lake AP Tourism
board has introduced different types of boating rides.
9. CONSERVATION BY ZOO:
Several animals bred in the Zoo have
been rehabilitated in various deer parks and
sanctuaries to restock the depleted natural
population.
11. A grey parrot — an exotic bird
that has been adopted by a
technology services company at the
Nehru Zoological Park in Hyderabad.
GREY PARROT
For the bird conservation park, a four-acre site close to the
entrance has been identified and fencing of it is nearing completion. By
different artificial means of breeding this parrot has increased the
number largely in a small period of time
12. TIGER
Nature and wildlife lovers, schools and
institutions are also chipping in their
contributions.
Tiger is the favourite of most donors, bigger animals such as
elephants, bears and even birds have brought in welcome funds for the
menagerie. The zoo has fixed annual maintenance amounts based on the
food, medication and other upkeep charges for a year.
13. GREATNESS OF THIS ZOO..
The Nehru Zoological Park, Hyderabad, has been
adjudged the best Zoo in the country next only to Mysore Zoo,
by the Central Zoo Authority of India (CZAI). The title comes
because of the sincere efforts of Zoo officials to conserve
endangered species through reproduction (captive breeding),
and providing a better home for the animals and birds.
15. WHAT IS IT DIFFERENT FROM OTHERS..
*Into its 50th year, the zoo, one of the
largest in the country, has got 31 adoptions of animals
with a commitment of Rs. 55 lakh since April 2013.
*The major attraction within the zoo, however, is the
Lion Safari. A van barbed with wrought iron takes you through
the gates of the safari — opening one gate at a time — into a
completely different world of wild animals where lions, tigers,
rhinos, wild oxen, panthers, etc.
