2. Audience Profile
■ Identifying the Audience:
This audience is a culturally sophisticated 16-25 in the AB group
(The difficulty about this is that it is a very broad audience. So we have to focus on a specific area that we know that they will most certainly be interested in.)
If we break this down in to small sections(Demographics)
Age: 16-25
Gender: Male/Female
Sexuality: Too broad to answer but linked to one of my magazines
Education: Highly educated because they are culturally sophisticated
Annual/Disposable income: Class AB so it must be high for each person
■ Psychographics:
The current life style of them must be high. Especially for ones of the top AB class. Their desired lifestyle is to afford the new jewellery in the new vogue magazine
or they could be able to afford the new expensive fashion in the new coming season
Their culture would be depending on their selves. This is depending on their sexuality, religion and family. This would vary but I recon that most AB families have the
culture of getting expensive things that everyone would want to get them selves. They look towards the celebs and models and that is what they basically want to
be
Their media interests would be in the high end fashion magazines. This would be either Vogue, Bazaar, Gracia etc.
The final 2 thing I have to explain are their buying habits and their loyalty to brands. They would buy expensive clothing due to fashion but they would also be loyal
to certain brands and should want to get as much of the brands’ clothes as they want to show they support that brand.
One final thing to mention about their psychographics is that there will be people that this magazine will not be for mainstreamers. This will be more for Explorers
and the reformer. That is the group of AB people that I am aiming towards

3. Genre/Subgenre
■ The genre of my magazine will be based on fashion magazines. Also the sub-genre of this
will be Unisex Fashion magazines along with Musical intertextual references. It will have
generic and ungeneric conventions in it. It will definitely be a mix betweenTheV fashion
magazine and the Indie Rock It will be a mixture of both in the down image.
■ I am choosing this subgenre because the target audience for my magazine is inside a
certain community and 16-25 ages bracket who is culturally sophisticated. SO this is why I
have chosen the unisex fashion/music aspect to it. I will be subverting and reinforcing both
of these mainstream and Indie magazines together. How I am going to do this is through
the used of certain conventions.There will be a use of not that much writing in the cover
page, no use of a celebrity since it is more indie and the MISE EN SCENE will be similar
compared to INDIE ROCK because I plan on doing mid-shot to show of the clothing and
face.

6. Representation of Model/Social
Groups/People
■ One of the groups I am aiming towards the LGBT/gender fluidity community as a one
of issue. I chose this because it is a under-represented group.The model for this
shoot(me) will be me represented as quite serious.The idea is not your focus on the
facial expression.The idea is that you look at the props and since I am aAfrican brown
being it will be unusual for someone like me to support the community. This is what
should stand out because it is unusual.This again bring the point of the magazine
being wacky since it is focused on the props and the person in the pictures.
■ For the second model it will be Matt Daines. Unknown(Discrimination against teens)

7. Concept/My ideal magazine
■ The initial idea is to create a unisex fashion/pop culture magazine with majority of the
conventions being Indie but I will reference some mainstream conventions within also.
But I will be aiming to reference the gender fluidity community through the magazine.
I will use the audience profile to see what they are attracted to and use this in the tiny
detail that I will use. I will explain in later detail later in the presentation
■ My magazine will be talking about more less generic topics that normal magazines
talk about. I will emphasise on this more with my 2 Cover Ideas. But it will be more
based around a prop looking cover where you have to focus on the props and you
would have to recognise the references.

8. Content
■ The first magazine cover will include content based on the LGBT community.This
meaning that I will reference the recent events and pop culture since it is a unisex
fashion/pop cultured magazine.This would be talking about the gay pride events that
have happened in London recently, also I will be referencing the pop culture.This is
basically from Music artists/groups to popular fashion designers who had helped the
gay movement progress.One final thing I will mention is the heritage and the people
who started this movement to give them homage for being brave.
■ The cover lines will mention recent events that I will expand on in the contents page of
the 1st magazine cover.This will mention pop culture references and the recent gay
pride movements.

9. Mode of Address in Image andWriting
■ The way that the image and writing will talk to the audience will be different
throughout the whole cover. As my community will be NICHE.There will be certain
conventions that will kind of attract their attention.The cover-lines that will be located
through out the magazine cover. Since it is fashion and pop cultured I will add inter-
texual references but I will explain those later. But since I am doing LGBT, Fashion and
Pop. I have plenty of choice of what to add.This is linked in with the content. I will
mention popular fashion designers who have helped the LGBT/Gender fluidity
community and give homage to them and to the pop artists that have helped this
certain community.This is hpw I will address the NICHE people in the AB community.
The image is much more complex and will explain later in the presentation.

13. What will be on the 1st Cover?
■ Basic Idea:
There will be a guy with face marking and glasses along with casual clothing.The face marking will be the references and it will be a dark
background. I will use low key lighting because I want to utilise the colour splash effect so the props will stand out to the audience.The
Mast Head will be on the top middle of the magazine cover in a bright colour so they see the title first. I will use the “Cherry Soda” Colour
pallet on the Masthead and the cover-lines along with the black and white background with the colour splash effect. Along with social
media on the bottom of the magazine cover
The contents page will follow the “Cherry Soda” colour scheme with circles as with the content written inside them.The 2nd photo that will
be taken will be a full body shot (with a LGBT Flag)(black and white effect)(Colour splash)with the circle overlapping the photo to create a
perspective effect.

15. How the contents pages differ:
■ The idea of my magazine is to keep the theme different each issue.The theme is
something people will not talk about. In this case it will talk about discrimination
against young adults and teenagers. Compared to the issue about gender fluidity.The
lay out will be different. Instead of it being circles and overlapping.There will be a
completely different approach. Instead of the overlapping we will be focusing on the
image that I will use. Around the image of the person(Matt Daines).There will be the
circles with the content that I will be mentioning inside the circles as well as a 3D
effect.
■ As for the content it will be completely different and will be based upon
discrimination.
