National Honors Society Essay Sample
Crafting an essay on the topic of a "National Honors Society Essay Sample" can be a
challenging yet rewarding task. The difficulty lies not only in presenting your achievements and
qualifications but also in demonstrating how you embody the core values of the National Honor
Society (NHS) such as scholarship, leadership, service, and character.
Firstly, it demands a deep self-reflection to articulate your academic achievements and illustrate
how they align with the NHS standards of scholarship. This requires a careful balance between
humility and confidence, as you aim to showcase your accomplishments without sounding
boastful.
Additionally, addressing the element of leadership poses its own set of challenges. You need to
provide concrete examples of times when you took the initiative, motivated others, and
contributed positively to group dynamics. This requires introspection to identify instances where
your leadership skills were demonstrated effectively.
The service aspect demands a sincere portrayal of your commitment to community and societal
welfare. Describing your involvement in volunteer work, community projects, or any other forms
of service requires conveying a genuine passion for making a positive impact beyond your
personal achievements.
Furthermore, illustrating your character involves delving into your personal values, ethics, and
integrity. It's not just about listing positive traits but providing evidence and anecdotes that
substantiate your claim of possessing the qualities that the NHS values.
The challenge lies in seamlessly weaving these elements together, maintaining a coherent and
compelling narrative that showcases not only your accomplishments but also your commitment
to the NHS principles.
In conclusion, while writing an essay on this topic is undoubtedly challenging, it is also an
opportunity to reflect on your journey, values, and contributions. The key is to strike the right
balance between humility and self-promotion while authentically demonstrating your alignment
with the NHS values.

Historical Context Of Psalm 62
Psalm 62, All My Trust Is In God Alone
Psalm 62 is a psalm about faith. Faith is believing in something without having
proof: complete trust. The psalmist is not only expressing his faith or complete trust
in God but is additionally asking everyone to have faith in or complete trust in God.
This complete trust in God alone has, does, and will enable one to have an
extraordinary peace within themselves regardless of what is going on around them. It
is the hope of this writer that the ensuing discussion will help its readers find a better
understanding of the psalm and therefore, help to develop their faith in God alone.
The Historical Context of Psalm 62
To better understand the historical context of psalm 62, we must first take a look at
the authorship and genre of this particular psalm. When looking to find the authorship
of a psalm today, one has only to look at the title. Thanks to many scholars throughout
history, titles and authorship have been added to many of the psalms thus, helping us
to further understand the historical significance of the psalter. However, we will
take a look as to how they have arrived at naming King David as the author of Psalm
62.
Throughout the psalter many psalms have been credited as being authored by David;
King of Israel, who reigned ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
What I mean by this is that two key words; salvation and rock appear in verses 1 6
but do not appear again after verse 7. In addition, two key words that appear in verse
7 recur in verses 8 12; refuge in verse 8 and power in verse 11 (which is the same

being the structural and theological center of Psalm 62 it culminates the psalmist s
profession of faith and serves as his foundation for the didactic call to decision in

An Advertisement On Interest And Entertainment Websites
Essay
This paper will focus on advertisements that are strategically placed on interest
/entertainment and companies websites. The goal of these advertisements is to
trigger problem recognition. I will further explain how each advertisement chosen
was placed there to trigger a problem that needed to be solved.
General Interest / Entertainment Web Site
The two entertainment websites I found trigger problem recognition advertisements
on are people.com and foxnews.com. Both advertisements were very well placed and
focused on saving money, everyone can always learn more ways to make their
financial situations better. On people.com there was an advertisement that
encourages opening an American express account. On foxnews.com there was an
advertisement encouraging viewers to save one hundred dollars at Best Buy for a
Dell computer.
Web Site Chosen
I choose to discuss how American Express advertisement was strategically placed on
people.com. The advertisement is encouraging people to have an account through
American Express. This advertisement is a trigger because some people look to
celebrities for their fashion guidance, idolizing their images. This means they go to
any extreme to make a purchase and that includes taking on credit to make it happen.
The trigger of the advertisement is the possible need for money the browser may have.
A person can be on the site looking at some shoes a celebrity is wearing, valued at
nine hundred dollars. An impulsive shopper may see the said
Lord Of The Flies Fire Symbolism
The Lord of The Flies is set during WWII and is about a group of boys getting
stranded on an island. Symbols in The Lord of The Flies areis a huge part of the
story, but the signal fire, in my opinion, is the most significant one. The fire It
symbolizes hope and rescue, and savagery. The author, William Golding, does a great
job with displaying this. In the beginning of the novel, Ralph wants to start a signal
fire in case a ship comes by the island. This is good because it shows that the kids
want to get off of the island and don t want to be stranded there. There is a little
conflict here because Jack and the choir boys want to go hunting, but Ralph wants to
build the signal fire. Jack helps Ralph start the fire. Ralph spoke first, with... Show

Ralph decides to take the conch shell to Castle Rock, hoping that it will remind
Jack s followers of his former authority. Ralph blows his conch shell. Then Jack
comes out and commands Ralph to leave his camp, and Ralph demands that Jack
return Piggy s glasses. Jack attacks Ralph, and they fight. Ralph struggles to make
Jack understand the importance of the signal fire which would help them get
rescued, but Jack orders his hunters to capture Sam and Eric. This sends Ralph into
a fury, and he attacks Jack. Ralph and Jack fight for a second time. Piggy cries out,
struggling to make himself heard over the fight. As Piggy tries to speak, hoping to
remind the group of the importance of rules and rescue, Roger shoves a massive
rock down the mountainside. Ralph, who hears the rock falling, dives and dodges
it. But the boulder strikes Piggy, shatters the conch shell, and knocks him off the
mountainside to his death on the rocks below. Jack throws his spear at Ralph, and
the other boys quickly join in. Ralph escapes into the jungle, and Roger and Jack
begin to torture Sam and Eric, forcing them to submit to Jack s authority and join
his tribe. The fire has burnt out. The next day Ralph is awaken with the smell of
smoke and is forced to come out of hiding. He runs down to the beach and sees a
navy officer. Ralph and the boys are saved. His voice rose under the black smoke
before the burning wreckage of the island; and infected by that emotion, the other
little boys began to shake and sob too. And in the middle of them, with filthy body,
matted hair, and unwiped nose, Ralph wept for the end of innocence, the darkness
of man s heart, and the fall through the air of the true, wise friend called Piggy.
(LOTF page 202). To conclude, the Lord of the flies has a great symbol in it. A fire is
something that is so simple yet such a big part of the story. In the beginning

United States Containment Policy During the Cold War
During the Cold War, America s basic policy was that of containment of the Soviet
Union. The policy of containment was based upon several principles. First, the
Soviet Union wanted to spread socialism to all areas of the world. However, it was
felt that the leadership of the Soviet Union felt no particular rush to accomplish
their goal. The Kremlin is under no ideological compulsion to accomplish its
purposes in a hurry. Like the Church, it is dealing in ideological concepts which are
of a long term validity, and it can afford to be patient. (Hook and Spanier, 42). In
other words, the Soviet leadership believed that, since their ideas were the correct
ones, they would eventually prevail, and thus, no direct confrontation would be...

According to the terms of the ceasefire negotiated between the French, a free election
would be held in 1956, and the temporary demarcation line would be abandoned once
the countries reunited following the election. However, it became clear that the
communist leader of the north, Ho Chi Minh, would win the election, and the United
States provided economic support and weapons to the regime governing South
Vietnam, and ultimately prevented the elections and began a new war between the
North and South Vietnamese (Hook and Spanier, 118). This lead to one of the largest
changes in America s policy of containment: the domino theory . The thought was that
if communism won out over capitalism in Vietnam, other nations throughout
Indochina, the Middle East, and finally Africa would follow, much like a row of
dominoes falling. To prevent this, the United States entered into the conflict, known
as the Vietnam War. The domestic result of the Vietnam War is one of the most
compelling arguments for the validity of the containment policy. The horrors and
loss of American life caused by that war led to widespread protest in America,
especially amongst those young enough to fear being drafted into the military, and
started the peace movement of the sixties and early seventies. Ever since that period,
Americans have been more conscientious of the effects of American foreign policy,
especially where that policy
Analysis Of White Tigers By Maxine Hong-Kingston
One of my first impressions of the story White Tigers by Maxine Hong Kingston is
that the story that she shares with the reader is what I believed to be a dream that
she had. I thought that this dream was inspired by the times her and her mother
spoke their own language, talk story. Talking story is a dialect that transcends our
basic comprehension of communication. It is the hybrid of our own language, and
the power of storytelling fused upon one another. I thought that Kingston told us
this story because it was the best dream that she has ever imagined. This story was
so moving for her since she felt a deep connection with it. However, I assumed that
this story was just generic. I overlooked the familiarity that this story had. I
envisioned that Hong Kingston was telling us her own version of the tale of Fa Mu
Lan. Thousands of years ago, The Ballad of Fa Mu Lan, written by Tzu Yeh is about
a woman, Fa Mu Lan. Mu Lan was extraordinary because she took her father s place
in battle when he was chosen to fight. Not only was she brave, and thoughtful, she
was the first ever woman to go to battle and live. Then I went back to White Tigers,
and saw that after the fantasy that she created was stated, she reflects back on her
childhood which was just merely depressing. After reading both the Ballad, and
White Tigers, I realized that she injected herself into this fantasy because she wanted
to rebel as did Mu Lan. Being femalefor Hong Kingston was a living nightmare,
The Sabbath
The Torah is known for being the most important and prominent document of
Judaism. Jews have used it throughout the ages from before Jesus Christ. The Torah
consists of five books; Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy.
For the D var Torah assignment, I was given Emor, Leviticus 21:1 24:23. Leviticus
has many topics, but an important one is the Sabbath. Leviticus 21:1 24:23 (Emor)
has two parts. The first part focuses on the rules for the priests, high priests, and the
temple service. It is where God is instructing Moses to instruct the elder priests to
teach the younger priests about the priesthood. It gives many of the rules of which
priest must follow in the temple. It gives rules on who can and cannot be a priest, who

One topic that Jay mentioned that caught my attention was the Moment of Silence
aspect. Michaelson reflects what he does on the Sabbath and how it is very relaxing.
He states, I do not use electricity on Shabbat, my home is much quieter on Saturdays
than it is the rest of the week. No music, no TV, no computers even in the noise of
the city, my home is an island of silence. This is a good example of someone
practicing the Sabbath in his own way and what it takes to maintain the spirit and
meaning of the Sabbath. He focuses on being more spiritual and not put his attention
to the materialistic things. He continues and talks about how it can be troublesome
when he says silence can feel uncomfortable but continues and says, But silence is
just like the essence of Shabbat, and meditation: not making, not doing but being. Jay
Michaelson says that the Sabbath may be awkward and difficult when it is quiet but
that is the bottom line of practicing the Sabbath. During this quiet time, it makes you
really think and reflect about your own
Types of Market Structures
PERFECT COMPETITION
Short Run Equilibrium of the Firm Under Perfect Competition: Definition and
Explanation: By short run is meant a length of time which is not enough to change
the level of fixed inputs or the number of firms in the industry but long enough to
change the level of output by changing variable inputs. In short period, a distinction
is made of two types of costs (i) fixed cost and (ii) variable cost. The fixed cost in
the form of fixed factors i.e., plant, machinery, building, etc. does not vary with the
change in the output of the firm. If the firm is to increase or decrease its output, the
change only takes place in the quantity of variable resources such as labor, raw
material, etc. Further, in the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

revenue of the firm is equal to the area OPNK. The total cost of producing OK
quantity of output is equal to OTSK. The firm is suffering a net loss equal to the
shaded area PTSN. The firm at price OP in the market is covering its full variable
cost and a part of the fixed cost. The loss of part of fixed cost equal to the shaded
area PTSN is less than, the firm would incur by closing down. In case of shut
down, the firm has to bear the total fixed cost ETSF. The firm thus by producing
OK output and selling at OP price is minimizing losses. Summing up, in the short
run the firm will not go out of business for as long as the loss m staying the
business is less than the loss from closing down. (4) Short Run Shut Down: The

The Significance of the Four Blood Moons Throughout many years people have

coming, and it represents major events in the life of God s people. When this event
occurs again don t be afraid. For the blood moons are there even as a reminder to us
that God is still in control. Many, many years have gone by since the last set of

event that will happen soon after is the antichrist will begin to show standing and

The Atlantic Slave Trade Its Ships Slavery, a topic that still leaves a mark on the
hearts of many citizens throughout America, a matter that leaves a repugnant
aftertaste in our mouths. Slaves were transported from their native land, into a new
world forced to do manual work that Europeans were resistant in doing and reluctant
to having the natives do. Slavery lasted over 200 years; yet for some odd reason
African Americans and advocates of memorializing the consistent pain, agony,
torture, and mistreatment of Africans are constantly told to just Let it go , Forget
about it, it happened so long ago . Those who still feel the piercing wounds of those
who suffered from enslavement are expected to forget about an issue that has not
even ceased longer than it lasted. A common desire that existed among all African
Americans was to be free, to be released and sent back to their families from whom
they were snatched. Africans were stolen from their homelands, stripped from a
comfortable environment into an unfamiliar place, and forced to live under cruel
conditions, known as the Atlantic Slave Trade. In this paper, several factors will be
discussed including: (1) background information on the African slave trade/ middle
passage(2) the slaves living conditions (3) the slaves treatment (4) and the lasting
impact in the lives of the slaves after the getting off the ships. Between the time

The World Of Economy, By Steven Levitt And Stephen
Dubner
In the world of economy, conventional knowledge of every day situations are
challenged by those through an amoral approach which often provides controversial
explanations for human actions, and behaviours. But when we eliminate values to
human behaviour, economists are able to take an objective view to understand the
approach; humans take in order to maximize their desires (McKenzie, Tullock, 1975).
The strongest possible predictive statement used by economists to explain human
behaviour is the law of demand, which explains that when price of an object increases
the quantity demanded decreases and vice versa (McKenzie, Tullock, 1975).
Everyone strives to maximize their satisfaction and reaching their fullest amount
through the pros and cons of information, personal incentives, and ways to overcome
social, biological, and environmental restraints to acquire their goals. From the ability
of researching and understanding statistics, Steven Levittand Stephen Dubner, authors
of Freakonomics, prove to the readers that humans are rational beings, and are aware
of the benefits and costs of their actions, and that our actions are motivated, and
connected by personal motivations or incentives. In the first chapter of
Freakonomics, Levitt and Dubner focus on that the reaction of cheating is that
humans demonstrate in response to incentives. The basics of economics are that
positive and negative implications of incentives that people respond to throughout
their entire lives (Levitt,
Difference Between Classical And Classical Management
Essay
Management is defined as the pursuit of organizational goals efficiently and
effectively. (Kinicki). Depending on who you ask or where you read, the history of
business began anywhere from a couple hundred years ago to well before the
Common Era. Most may claim that the written most common history of management
began in 1890 with the Scientific Management Theory (McNamara). As we move
toward present time, more theories have been formed that helped create
management structures and one that has made lots of heads turn and we d like to
discuss is Holacracy. Classical Management causes jobs with limited number of
tasks involved to be assigned to people, whereas Holacracy people choose up to
seven different roles which perform different types of tasks. The main difference
between classical management and holacracy is that holacracy focuses to organize a
company around the work that is trying to be accomplished rather than the people
who are doing the work. In traditional management employees of an organization
have a profound job title that employees do not possess in a holacracy. In most
organizations that have a traditional management approach each employee has a
specific objective that they are trying to accomplish. In a holacratic structure,
employees are assigned to multiple different roles at the same time. There are no
managers, or hierarchy, in a holacratic structure. Everyone in a holacratic
organization is self managed. Self management creates a peer to peer

Back then, women were given specific roles by society to be housewives and only
cook and take care of the children. The idea of feminism, however, did slowly
develop until in 1848 after their oppression, when the first Women s conference was
held in Seneca Falls, America. Ever since then, the amount of feminists and feminist
activities around the world have increased a great amount. Feminism has become a
major subject in the media, being represented in television, music and even ... Show

However, in this situation, Josephine rejects her husband not only because of the
abuse, but because she does not need a man to help her get by. Although, soon after,
Serge comes back at night, more drunk and violent than before, to knock some sense
into Josephine. This situation itself seems to be a setup for another one of those
situations where the lady is in trouble, unable to defend herself and a knight in
shining armour(who is male), comes just in time to rescue her and ensure the happy
ending. However, in this situation, Josephine and Vienne manage to knock out Serge
before any real damage. This sends the message that a hero is not always needed for
the damsel in distress. In this situation, two heroines got the job done. In conclusion,
Josephine becomes more of a feminist during her growth without her husband. With
enough courage and strength to leave her husband and grow from an ill thief to

The most focused conflict of the film Chocolat is the conflict between Vienne and

Greco-Christian Beliefs Of Christianity And The Gospel
Of...
The Greek Alexander Romance describes the life of Alexander the Great, focusing
primarily on his great military feats as a leader of Greece and highlighting why he is
remembered as a great Greco Roman leader. Similarly, the Gospel of Matthew
explains the life of Jesus Christ through his teachings and miracles, which underline
why he is known as the greatest figure from Judeo Christian culture. Alexander and
Jesuseasily compare because they died in their early thirties, were known as kings,
and are remembered for impressive triumphs while on earth. Alexander sought to
build his empire and essentially rule the world through victories on the battlefield
and the conquering of neighboring countries. Jesus sought to destroy evil on earth by
establishing God s Kingdom and teachings in the hearts of all. Comparing the lives
of these great Greco Roman and Judeo Christian leaders highlight the differences in
cultural opinion on the highest good in life, how one obtains that good, and what that
means in connection to an afterlife. Judeo Christian and Greco Roman perspectives
on elements of a meaningful life contrast in the sense that Judeo Christian actions to
pursue these elements are motivated by the desire for everlasting life in heaven,
while Greco Roman actions are motivated by the desire for perpetual fame on earth
after one dies.
Both Alexander the Great and Jesus Christ establish relationships with their
communities in order to obtain their respective highest good in life. In an effort to
bring salvation for all, Jesus tried to lead everyone on earth on the path towards the
kingdom of heaven. In the beginning of the Gospel of Matthew, God says that Jesus
will, save his people from their sins (Matthew 1:21). The idea of salvation is
repeated later when Jesus himself announces, He who endures to the end will be
saved suggesting that whoever follows his guidance on redemption will be able to go
to heaven (Matthew 10:22). On the other hand in The Greek Alexander Romance,
Alexander seeks to obtain the highest good of power by uniting surrounding empires
under his rule and becoming the ruler of the world (66). In an effort to build unity
and trust in him, he fought alongside his men on the front line in battle.
Christine Pelton Summary
Christine Pelton, a biology instructor in Piper, Kansas, is not a hero in my opinion.
As I understand the story, this teacher has a little more than one hundred and forty
biology students. It was stated in the article that, Nearly one fifth of her biology
students had plagiarized... Twenty eight of her students plagiarized on a final exam.
This teacher quit after the school board did not allow her to fail these twenty eight
students. Is this a wake up call to society about the low tolerance of cheating? Is
resigning appropriate for the situation in place? Is cheating acceptable to a certain
extent or should there be a zero tolerance? Thinking through this article, I have two
major thoughts. First, in the students minds, product is more... Show more content on

The schooling system is broken when it comes to whether students think learning
the content or receiving a grade is more important. I was talking to my father about
this article, and he brought up an advanced English class at the college he
attended. The students who were eligible to take this class were the most talented
and the highest in their class. The professor was presented with a problem. He did
not feel settled grading these talented students in his class according to the bell
curve college classes commonly use. He did not feel right handing out Cs and Bs to
these A students. Instead of grading the students on the curve, the professor gave
every kid in the class an A, and turned in their final grades on the first day. He
expected all of the students to show interest, give maximal effort, and contribute to
the class. He understood that they were all talented enough to receive an A. The
professor eliminated any stress a grade would bring to these students, and he allowed
them to fully focus on learning. I understand that a teacher cannot do that in a high
school biology class, but there are ways to prevent cheating and engage learning.
This biology teacher may not feel right in allowing these twenty eight kids to pass,
but I believe that she should feel obligated in her heart to stay and prevent this from
happening again. School is about learning about oneself and growing as a person;
school is not about earning a grade and learning biology. This teacher needs to help
kids learn about what is the right thing to do before twenty eight of them
Queen Elizabeth And Mary Relationship
Queen Mary I, the monarch of England and Ireland since 1553, dies and is succeeded
by her 25 year old half sister, Elizabeth.
The two half sisters, both daughters of King Henry VIII, had a stormy relationship
during Mary s five year reign. Mary, who was brought up as a Catholic, enacted pro
Catholic legislation and made efforts to restore the pope to supremacy in England. A
Protestant rebellion ensued, and Queen Mary imprisoned Elizabeth, a Protestant, in
the Tower of London on suspicion of complicity. After Mary s death, Elizabeth
survived several Catholic plots against her; though her ascension was greeted with
approval by most of England s lords, who were largely Protestant and hoped for
greater religious tolerance under a Protestant queen.
Low And Low Self Esteem
Self esteem has started to show a great impact on the life of people around us.
Although there are high and low levels of self esteem, which can lead us to
divergent conclusions. The people with high self esteem, appear to be narcissistic
and have the thought that the world revolves all around themselves. Accordingly, to
the people with low self esteem they go to the conclusions of suicide, and depression,
they ponder that people do not love them enough, so that they are not worthy enough
to be in this life. The effects of low self esteemand high self esteem leave an impact
on the career that people set their mind to. The cause of self esteem plays a huge
role in our life because it will affect our future careers and success in the future.
Success depends on the mindset. Moreover, the mindset is what one sets itself to
think or do. Ordinarily, the mindset that the people have reflects on their own
personality and the way that they view the world. Arguably, many people see the
world unevenly than the other people do. They see the world as chaotic and
stressful, as the other people view it regular, normal with the problems it has and
the peace it has also. The people with a fixed mindset have a contrastingly view of
the world than the people with low and high self esteem do. In an EdPuzzle video, the
speaker talks about how everything is set in the mindset. Guy Winch, the speaker in
EdPuzzle, states Our parents don t teach us about emotional hygiene (Winch),
Summary Of Chira Banerjee Divakaruni s The Palace Of...
Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni s novel, The Palace of Illusions is the epitome of
feminism. It retells the story of Mahabharata from the view point of Draupadi, the
daughter of King Drupad. The delicate threads of her life have beautifully been
interwoven to bring forth a grasping story. Chitra Banerjee has herself written I
would uncover the story that lay invisible between the lines of the men s exploits.
Better still I would have her one of her tell it herself, with all her joys and doubts,
her struggles and her triumphs, her heartbreaks, her achievements, the unique female
way in which she sees her world and her place in it. (XV). King Drupad, ruler of
Panchaal, one of the most prosperous kings of the continent Bharat was the father of
Draupadi. The very birth of Panchali is marked with revenge and redundant. An
offspring of vengeance and an expected one she trails after her brother

was also known as Krishnaa because she was copper skinned, fiery eyed and had long
black hair. She was gifted with blue lotus fragrance and hence called Yojangandha.
Her own father had not expected her as he had long prayed to the Gods for a son to

Gay Fathers And Their Children
DANIEL WINUNWE RIVERS. Radical Relations: Lesbian Mothers, Gay Fathers,
and Their Children in the United States since World War II. (Gender and American
Culture.) Chapel Hill: University of North Carolina Press, 2013. Pp. xii, 296. $32.50.
Recent representation of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) families in
mainstream media, exemplified by the long running sitcom Modern Family, and the
2015 United States Supreme Court s ruling in favor of same sex marriage, may lead
some to believe LGBT families are a recent phenomenon. Daniel Winunwe Rivers
Radical Relations: Lesbian Mothers, Gay Fathers, and Their Children in the United
States since World War II brilliantly uncovers the previously untold history of same
sex families. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Radical Relations prominently explores the history of lesbian mothers. Lesbian
mother groups fought not only against heteronormative families, but also for
women s reproductive rights. Rivers underscores the advocacy of groups like the
Lesbian Mother Union in favor of legal abortions, sex workers rights and health
care for all women, and against forced sterilization of women of color. The author
innovatively presents this advocacy work as an unrecognized part of the 1960 s
sexual revolution. It would be interesting to analyze the reverse, that is, the impact
the free to love revolution had on the general population s perception of the LGBT
community. Lesbian mother groups also fundraised money for custody cases. Women
who left their heterosexual marriage faced the possibility of custody loss, poverty,
and employment discrimination. The author explores the magnified struggles of
Black gay women but fails to do so with Black gay men.
Rivers credits the gay father groups, which were politically centered, for 1990 s gay
family respectability. The narrative of gay father communities lacks the intense
anguish present on the chapters about lesbian mothers; it is more factual and
impersonal. This shortcoming can probably be explained by River s upbringing in
lesbian community, and, therefore, less extensive contact with the male gay
community. The author describes the
Black Widow Spiders Essay
Adult black widow spiders have a shiny, black, rounded, circular abdomen and
are about 1/3 inch long (about 1 1/2 inches when their legs are spread).
Adult spiders have two reddish or yellowish triangles on their bottom which
looks like an hourglass marking, and their body color is dark colored usually
black or sometimes dark brown. They are usually recognized because of their
red or red orange hourglass design on the bottom of their abdomen. This
pattern is changeable and may look like two separated spots. In some spiders
there is no pattern on the abdomen. The immature stages of both sexes of the
widow spiders have red or red orange or yellow spots and strips on the top
of their abdomen. Females are colored gray ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Death usually results
from respiratory paralysis. People with a history of high blood pressure are
at the greatest risk. But immediate medical treatment can reduce the danger
from widow bites and has reduced fatalities to very low rates in recent
years. However, this spider is considered the most venomous spider in North
America.
If you are bitten stay calm, get the spider, if you can for positive
identification and because of the possible severity of black widow bites you
should get immediate medical attention is important. If you apply an
antiseptic such as iodine or hydrogen peroxide prevents infection.
Physicians can inject calcium gluconate to help the effects of the toxin so
it is less harmful. This helps support levels of calcium salts that are low
by the effects of a bite. You can also get black widow antiserum. Since the
toxin moves quickly through the body trying to suck out the poison doesn t
work. People younger than 16 and older than 60, especially those with a
heart condition might have to stay at a hospital.
The black widow spider is shy and usually not aggressive and bites can be
rare even when there are lots of them. The adult female spiders usually stay
in their webs unless they have to because of the temperature or if their web
gets destroyed. They do not search for food and they eat the insects they
get in their webs and are eaten when they get to them. Human bites
Man On Wire, By James Marsh
Man on wire which was set in 1947 directed by James Marsh about a french high
wire artist Philippe Petit who is fascinated by New Yorks trade Centre where he has
strung a six metre tight rope between the twin tires and walked across it without any
fear. The documentary is about Petit s daring attempt, the aftermath and about his
friends and the people who helped him achieve his life goals. Some consider it the
artistic crime of the century The director has used many techniques to captivate
audiences making us feel like we are apart of this incredible story. Techniques such as
Interviews and archival footage.
One of the most widely used documentary techniques is interviews. Interviews
reflect opinions from different viewpoints creating an almost 3 dimensional story.
Its helps the audience feel more engaged as it is coming from a person s point of
view who was involved in the events making it feel more realistic. The audience can
be assured that the story is not made up. Interviews give a sense of realism. Man on
wire is a good example of the interview style being used to reflect feelings of the
time Petit was on his way to making his dream come a reality. The emotions at
some point were exaggerating maybe because he is a performer. But this made us as
viewers feel apart of the film being able to sympathize with the characters and
storyline. Marsh uses a technique where we see the subject talking on screen but we
do not hear the interviewer talking or asking questions.

Oedipus Tragic Flaw Analysis

unknown problems due to killing his own father, king Laius, which happened at the
crossroads, however his violent temper has a good candidate in it which is due to a
tragic flaw. Furthermore, Oedipus has Pride which leads to identifying himself as a
good character. Oedipusmain downfall unwillingness leads to his faithfully fate.
Many people don t like him and accuse him of many things that he hasn t done. Yet,
many people support him like Jocastathey encourage him to keep going forward
and keep being open minded, not to measure himself, and to never give up.
However, due to many things he has been accused of Jocasta comforts him by
telling him that there are no truth in oracles prophets and she has plenty of proof.
Furthermore, a long time ago an oracle told Laius a story that supposedly his own
son would killhim, yet results came in and said he and Jocasta gave their monthly
old son of a shepherd to leave on a hillside to die with a pin between its ankles.
However, he was killed by three robbers not by his own son, one of Jocasta proofs
that the oracle was wrong. Something about her story puts Oedipus into trouble,
she said that Laius was killed at an intersection where three roads meet, which
reminds Oedipus of an incident that happened in the past. Furthermore, when he
killed a stranger at an intersection where three roads met, he then asks her to
describe Laius, and her details match his memory. However, Jocasta tells him that
the only witnesses there are to Laius s death is a herdsman, which he swore that
robbers killed him. Oedipus then witnesses and interrogates them. However, Jocasta
helps him to be the bigger and better person. While Jocasta and Oedipus wait for the
man to arrive, they ask why he seems so troubled. Oedipus then talks to her about
the story of his past. When he was young an old man he met told him that he wasn t
his father s son. He then automatically and asked his parents about that and of course
they denied it. However, he still had a doubt about that and wondered why the man
told him that. Yet, he eventually went to an oracle to find out the truth to see who his
real parents were. When he
Franz Marc Essay
Introduction
Franz Marc was a German artist and printmaker, and also one of the key statistics
of the German Expressionist movement. Franz Marc was born in February 8, 1880
in Munich and past away in March 4, 1916, eventually Marc was only 36 years old.
Wilhelm, the father, was an expert landscape painter; his mother, Sophie, was a strict
Calvinist. Marc began to study at the Academy of Fine Arts, Munich in 1900. In 1903
and 1907, he spent time in France, intensely in Paris, visiting the city s museums and
copying many paintings, a conventional way for artists to study and improve
technique.
Marc made sixty prints in woodcut and lithography. Most of his developed work

The blue, as Marc prescribed, gives a peaceful note to the agitated atmosphere. He
recollects an illusionistic portrayal within which he seeks to form a rich colour
composition that reflects the vitality of his subject. The principal achievement in Red
Horses is this portrayal of the uninhibited energy of nature using completely
naturalistic colours. 2. Figure : Tierschicksale by Franz Marc
This Tierschicksale is one of the most popular landscapes drawn by Franz Marc. It
characteristic of the sense of apocalypse that began to taint Marc s work and is relate
to his feelings on the forthcoming war.
This painting used of numerous elements and principles of design. Using line
showing the contrast between the animal and the floras. Also, the value (tone) and
colour used containing dark and light in colours, the tone of the colour on the right
of the painting is darker, and lighter colour on the left. Moreover, this landscape
created an emphasis (focal point). An animal is clearly shown in the central of the
landscape and creates a focal dominance.
Marc clarifies that he began to see the ugliness in animals which he had previously
thought only existed in humans. The use of lines and geometric shapes in this
landscape carried the emotional charge previously conveyed by animals. This
landscape related to Marc s ideas on the impending war. Marc was part of the school
of thought that the war would purify and redeem the
Christopher Columbus Essay
Christopher Columbus set out on his voyage in 1942 on the West Indian islands, to
find a new world for the Europeans. When he landed on the Caribbean Island the
Indian Natives that lived there were at first scared but greeted him in a friendly
manner. The conquest and settlement of the Western Hemisphere opened new
opportunities for other Europeans such as the French, Dutch, English and Spanish to
come to the island and colonize the Indian s land. For the Europeans to colonize and
move in on Native land they had to find a way to interact with the Indians. Through
their interaction they found cultural understandings and confusions that were
documented by both the Europeans and the Indians. In the book, Major Problems in

Indian women cooked, cleaned, build houses, planted corn, got lobsters and gathered
flags. While their lazy husbands went fishing the Indian women would carry the fish
and dry it for the next season. The Europeans saw the Indians gender roles within
families as a sign of weakness for the husband and poor treatment of the wives. In the
book, Give Me Liberty by Eric Foner, he states, Europeans considered Indian men
unmanly too weak to exercise their authority within their families and restrain their
wives open sexuality, and so lazy that they forced their wives to do most of the
productive work ( Foner, Pg 23). As a result the Europeans suggest bringing them
freedom to liberate them from the unchristian gender roles. Wood suggests that the
ruder Indian men should treat their women the way the English treat their wives with
love and respect. This demonstrates how the Europeans expectations of the Indians
are to be similar to their own culture. The Europeans are not trying to understand the
Indians gender role but rather they are criticizing it and judging it for being different.

In fact there will never was, nor will there ever be, a time that would surpass the
horror humanity faced during the outbreak. We were put through a trial. Some
passed and some failed. The worst traits of humanity were exposed during the
outbreak. But at the same time, the best traits shone so brightly that the darkness
of humanity dissipated. It was the survivors that fought to get our lives back who
had these traits. Many credit me with bringing together so many people, with
different ideals, to fight back or bringing out the best in people because I inspired
them. That was not true. It was thanks to true humanity. The humanity I always

My Vacation Essay
Rinnnngggggg! The final bell rang and the doors flew wide open. Bang! Lockers
are slammed shut. Everyone is rushing through the hall to get to their busses and
cars. Summer is finally here. Everyone is ready to sleep in, hang out with friends,
and go on their vacations. Summer can get boring when you have nothing to do
and when you are required to wait a month to go on your vacation. My family and I
were going to Florida. The great news was that the month flew by fast. Somewhere at
the end of June we started packing our bags and were ready to leave. Our relatives
and friends tagged along, so it is going to be twice the fun. The drive there was about
twenty hours long with all the stops we made, but I m pretty sure it was way longer.
It felt like we drove for ages. The cars were crowded with all the kids that came with
us, so we made many stops. We stopped at tons of gas stations and places to eat. We
always switched cars so we would not be as bored and we could be with our friends.
While driving, we stopped at a hotelto rest from all the driving and sleep in a
comfortable bed. The hotel had amazing waffles that you got to cook by yourself.
They had delicious flavors that you can add on top of your waffles. There was also a
poolso we went to go swim and we had tons of fun. Unfortunately, there was a lot of
chlorine so we were all smelly. When we finally got there we went to get our hotel
keys. The first thing we saw was the pool. We all wanted to go swimming, but the
Desertion Clifford Simak Summary
Isaac Asimov said, Your assumptions are your windows on the world. Scrub them
off every once in a while, or the light won t come in. Everyday people perceive
things based on assumptions. Why is that? Is it because of the norms, rules, or
stuff we see on television? You could probably say that. Society over the years has
taught us many ways to see eye to eye on different issues. Clifford D. Simak
illustrates many ways to differ perception from reality in Desertion . The author
sets the scene of Desertion in a lab. Along the way, four men are transformed into
Jovian as they head on into Jupiter. For men in the domes of Jupiter did know fear
fear and humility. It was hard for men to reconcile his puny self with the mighty
forces of the monstrous planet. (pg. 178). We are made to believe that the four men

Based on what has transpired, he feels that going into Jupiter is dangerous.
However, as he begins to transform himself, he learns that the world inside of
Jupiter is very comfortable than what he has perceived. The author says, Perhaps
just one human mental trait...would be so violently at odds with Jovian existence
that it would blast human sanity. (pg. 183). Although he felt this way before the
transformation, he senses that there might be a chance to explore more freedom
as a Jovian. Fowler is with Towser as they are headed towards a cliff. Rushing
towards the cliff, he describes the cliff as a sparkly crystal from miles away.
Adapting to the change, he tests the legs that he is given. He feels that the new
body he now possesses has lifted him on wings of silver speed. The author cites this
as one way for Fowler to embrace the new form as a
My Own Family Members And Their Spouses Essay
Introduction As we all know, every relationship is different from the next. They all
start at different stages in life, for different reasons, and push forward at different
speeds. For this essay, I chose to interview three of my own family members and
their spouses to gather the information I needed to thoroughly write this essay. In the
process of each interview, it was clear to me that our authors were right; people
discover love, they don t just find it (Lamanna Riedmann, 2012, p. 142). In other
words, finding the one doesn t just happen instantly. Instead, it develops over time
and differently than any other couple. To show the truth behind this statement, I m
going to be using different concepts to describe three different couples stories and
reasons behind choosing the partners they chose. I will also be comparing and
contrasting the three couples and offering my personal opinions.

brought an action against the appellant for breach of its duty of care as an occupier.
The primary judge, Levy SC DCJ, found on the calculus of negligence, that the risk
of injury from slipping when descending wet stairs whilst wearing skates was

2. If so, was that duty of care contended for by the respondent to warn him of that

the specific exceptions provided in s 5H(2) of the Act were raised, thus the
respondent was not liable and the reason for appeal upheld.

Meagher JA agreed with the primary judge, that the act of descending the stairs
was not part of a dangerous recreational activity but merely a preparatory act. Thus,
for the purpose of s 5K and s 5L(1) of the Act , the defence was not applicable and
the ground of appeal dismissed.
4. Whether the No Responsibility sign contained a warning for the risks involved in

As graphically described in 1944 by a member of the bench, his case is one that is

Secondly, regardless of the true nature of the assembly and relocation centers, we are
dealing specifically with nothing but the exclusion order. To bring in the issue of
racial prejudice, without reference to the real military dangers which existed, merely
confuses the issue.
Korematsu was not excluded from the Military Area because of hostility to him or
his race. He was excluded because we are at war with the Japanese Empire . . . The
military urgency of the situation required that all citizens of Japanese ancestry be
segregated from the West Coast temporarily. Congress put their confidence in our
military leaders and decided that they should have the power to carry out the
necessary measures. There was evidence of disloyalty on the part of some so the
military authorities felt that the need for action was great. The fact that we can look
back and see things more calmly does not allow us to say that at the time these
actions were unjustified.21
In dissenting Justice Owen Roberts felt the facts presented exhibited a clear
violation of Constitutional rights. It is he stated not a case of keeping people off
the streets at night, nor a case of temporary exclusion from an area for safety
reasons . . . It is the case of convicting a citizen as a punishment to not going into
imprisonment in a concentration camp. In addition, if a citizen were forced to obey
two laws and obedience
Auguste Rodin s Gates Of Hell
Essay 2: An Analysis of Figural Movement and Non Textual Depictions of Dante
Alighieri s The Divine Comedy in the Sculptural Motivations of Auguste Rodin s
Gates of Hell.
The primary motivation for Auguste Rodin s Gates of Hell are based on the desire to
interpret Dante Alighieri s The Divine Comedy through amore individual response to
the text. Rodin avoided a traditional interpretation of Dante s narrative by creating his
own form of chaotic view of hell through a modern 19th century perspective.
During this the middle to late 19th century, Rodin sought shift the focus away from
literary interpretations of art, which had become the dominant form of
interpretation of classical themes in France. The Gates of Hell was to avoid these
text based views of Dante s work as a motivation for Rodin s commission for the
doors as an early form of modernity in sculpture:
Rodin s sculpture, for all its affinity to great literature from Dante to Baudelaire, has

In this compositional form, the chaos of human forms seen suffering and writhing
in hell are one way in which Rodin deviated from the text that he was initially
supposed to follow from the Divine Comedy. Rodin, therefore , was motivated by a
more active and personal view of the chaos of hell, which was individualistically
interpretative and went against traditional forms of literary interpretation in French
classical art. The chaos of the human forms depicted on the gates of hell define the
individualism of the sculptor s point of view, which sought to remove the sickly
aspects of literary culture that was so dominant in French artistic culture. Rodin
sought to move away from these sometimes gaudy expressions of literary heroism to
a more realistic, chaotic, and despairing view of hell through Rodin s sculptural
Consequences Of Losing The Amazon Rainforest
The Implications of Losing the Amazon Rainforest
(First Draft)
Marianne Sembrano
Section 4
Northern Marianas College
Word Count: 1,142
Imagine life without trees. Life without trees seems unfathomable. Trees provide us
with paper, timber, oxygen for us to breath, etc. Without trees, life on Earth may
probably cease to exist. Trees, specifically forests, make up for thirty percent of the
Earth s land (National Geographic, 2017), while water covers seventy percent
(National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration, 2017). Out of that thirty percent,
only a mere six percent is what tropical rainforests cover (Butler, 2008). According to
Butler (2008), tropical rainforests once covered over sixteen percent of the Earth, but
since then, the numbers began decreasing. Tropical rainforests, precisely the Amazon
rainforest, are decreasing at such alarming rates due to deforestation (Laurence, 1998).
If the Amazon rainforest were to be lost, the implications imposed are its effect on
local matters such as wildlife, the environment, and human life (Foley, Asner, Costa,
Coe, DeFries, Gibbs,... Snyder, 2007). Although these implications are dire
consequences, some actions are being taken to prevent these measures from
happening.
More than twenty percent of the air we breathe comes from the Amazon rainforest
(Butler, 2008). The main driver for the destruction of the Amazon rainforest lies in
the need for further developing Brazil s commercial agriculture and one of the biggest
Conversion of Alcohol to Alkyl Halides Essay
Conversion of Alcohols to Alkyl Halides Ankita Patel August 6, 2013 Introduction
This lab consisted of the conversion of alcohols into alkyl halides through common
substitution methods. These methods include SN1 and SN2 mechanism, both of
which can occur for this type of reaction. For both reactions, the first step of
protonation will be to add hydrogen to the OH group and then the rest of the reaction
will proceed according to the type of mechanism. SN1 reactions form a cation
intermediate once the H2O group leaves, then allowing a halide (such as Br) to attack
the positively charged reagent1. On the other hand, SN2 reactions are one step
mechanism in which no intermediate is formed and the halide attaches as the leaving

Thus, one could safely assume the product from 1 propanol was 1 bromopropane.
This is mainly due the C H wag around 1260cm 1 indication it was a terminal alkyl
halide. This reaction went through SN2 mechanism not only because the alcohol
was primary but also because there were no rearrangements. If a rearrangement
would have occurred, it would have indicated that it was a SN1 mechanism.
Further analysis was then done to determine the exact identity of the product and
the chemical makeup. B B C C A A B B C C A A Figure 2: NMR Spectrum for 1
propanol The results from the NMR of 1 propanol showed 3 different prominent
peaks with the peak at 2.2 cm 1 being the acetone. Because 1 bromopropane has
three non equivalent hydrogens it was found to represent this set of NMR data.
The other product, 2 bromopropane only had 2 different types of hydrogens and
would have only had 2 peaks. Further analysis of the structure of 1 bromopropane
showed that the hydrogens closest the bromine group were an indication of peak A
in the graph. Because of the electronegativity of the bromine, this peak was located
further downfield. There were 2 neighboring hydrogens so using the n+1 rule gave
the 3 peaks. Going down peak B showed the next carbon which had 5 neighboring
hydrogens thus giving 6 peaks. Finally, the carbon furthest away from the bromine
was found at peak C. It had 2 neighboring hydrogens and provided 3 peaks.

Determine how innovations in employee benefits can improve the overall
competitive compensation strategy of the organization. A competitive organization
understands the need for a skilled and loyal workforce. In order to attract and retain
top talent, many organizations offer innovative and creative employee benefit
packages. It enhances an attractive salary and creates a niche for the employer. An
organization that is aware of the dynamics of its workforce will be in step with the
innovations in employee benefits. Technology, global workforces and diversity have

Chosen and implemented effectively, however, creative benefits can demonstrate
leadership s concern for the well being of employees, reinforce cultural values, and
foster deeper employee engagement (Lagunas, 2012). Prospective employees
expect run of the mill standard benefit packages such as healthcare, vision, dental
and retirement plan benefits. Stock options, stock ownership and other equity
based rewards viewed with a dubious eye as people still remember Enron. Yes, you
will do well if the company is doing well but what if your company is operating
unethically, where does that leave the employee? Worthless stock and a jaundiced eye
toward organizations are what are left. On the other hand, an organization that touts
benefits such as on site dry cleaning, subsidized childcare, or commuter passes taps
into what employees really need and want. Occasionally, time is a valuable benefit for
employees, time to do the things they cannot accomplish due to work schedules and
competing priorities.
Discuss the key elements of integrating innovation into a traditional total rewards
program. Integrating innovation into a traditional rewards program is not overly
cumbersome but it must be done with the full support of leadership and with the
support of employees. Leadership must embrace a new outlook on benefits and
employees. The proper research and fact finding must be accomplished to ensure
benefit innovation will mesh with the company culture and the needs of its
Life After Death In Jewish Religion
Death is something that everyone talks about daily, but the most important thing that
people do talk about when someone is deceased is whether he or she wanted a
religious burial. While many similarities exist between different religions, the beliefs
and rituals surrounding death in the Hindu and Jewish religions vary greatly. The
Jewish community and the Hindu community play important roles in the deathof their
deceased loved ones. Upon the death of a loved one, Hindu people believe that the
ashes or remains must be scattered, preferably on water, while the Jewish faith
strictly believes that all deceased people must have a tombstone to mark their
permanent resting place. Hindu people believe in reincarnation, or life after death,

Hindus believe that a Jiva is made up of five elements of Prakriti which needs to be
returned to their sources upon its death (Jayaram). The four elements are fire,
water, earth and air. All these elements are sacred to their bodies and also imitate
their world. By cremating the bodies of the Hindus, the elements are rightfully
returned to their respective spheres (Jayaram). Cremation has two purposes: to
ensure a soul s happy migration and habitation in the other world and also saves its
family members from the after effects of pollution (Jayaram). When children die
below a certain age, they are buried upon death inside a tomb called Samadhi. Once
the Samadhi is renouncer, it is placed in the river so that it undergoes the symbolic
act of cremation

  • 1. National Honors Society Essay Sample Crafting an essay on the topic of a "National Honors Society Essay Sample" can be a challenging yet rewarding task. The difficulty lies not only in presenting your achievements and qualifications but also in demonstrating how you embody the core values of the National Honor Society (NHS) such as scholarship, leadership, service, and character. Firstly, it demands a deep self-reflection to articulate your academic achievements and illustrate how they align with the NHS standards of scholarship. This requires a careful balance between humility and confidence, as you aim to showcase your accomplishments without sounding boastful. Additionally, addressing the element of leadership poses its own set of challenges. You need to provide concrete examples of times when you took the initiative, motivated others, and contributed positively to group dynamics. This requires introspection to identify instances where your leadership skills were demonstrated effectively. The service aspect demands a sincere portrayal of your commitment to community and societal welfare. Describing your involvement in volunteer work, community projects, or any other forms of service requires conveying a genuine passion for making a positive impact beyond your personal achievements. Furthermore, illustrating your character involves delving into your personal values, ethics, and integrity. It's not just about listing positive traits but providing evidence and anecdotes that substantiate your claim of possessing the qualities that the NHS values. The challenge lies in seamlessly weaving these elements together, maintaining a coherent and compelling narrative that showcases not only your accomplishments but also your commitment to the NHS principles. In conclusion, while writing an essay on this topic is undoubtedly challenging, it is also an opportunity to reflect on your journey, values, and contributions. The key is to strike the right balance between humility and self-promotion while authentically demonstrating your alignment with the NHS values. • 2. Historical Context Of Psalm 62 Psalm 62, All My Trust Is In God Alone Psalm 62 is a psalm about faith. Faith is believing in something without having proof: complete trust. The psalmist is not only expressing his faith or complete trust in God but is additionally asking everyone to have faith in or complete trust in God. This complete trust in God alone has, does, and will enable one to have an extraordinary peace within themselves regardless of what is going on around them. It is the hope of this writer that the ensuing discussion will help its readers find a better understanding of the psalm and therefore, help to develop their faith in God alone. The Historical Context of Psalm 62 To better understand the historical context of psalm 62, we must first take a look at the authorship and genre of this particular psalm. When looking to find the authorship of a psalm today, one has only to look at the title. Thanks to many scholars throughout history, titles and authorship have been added to many of the psalms thus, helping us to further understand the historical significance of the psalter. However, we will take a look as to how they have arrived at naming King David as the author of Psalm 62. Throughout the psalter many psalms have been credited as being authored by David; King of Israel, who reigned ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... With verse 7 being the structural and theological center of Psalm 62 it culminates the psalmist s profession of faith and serves as his foundation for the didactic call to decision in addition to the

  • 4. An Advertisement On Interest And Entertainment Websites Essay This paper will focus on advertisements that are strategically placed on interest /entertainment and companies websites. The goal of these advertisements is to trigger problem recognition. I will further explain how each advertisement chosen was placed there to trigger a problem that needed to be solved. General Interest / Entertainment Web Site The two entertainment websites I found trigger problem recognition advertisements on are people.com and foxnews.com. Both advertisements were very well placed and focused on saving money, everyone can always learn more ways to make their financial situations better. On people.com there was an advertisement that encourages opening an American express account. On foxnews.com there was an advertisement encouraging viewers to save one hundred dollars at Best Buy for a Dell computer. Web Site Chosen I choose to discuss how American Express advertisement was strategically placed on people.com. The advertisement is encouraging people to have an account through American Express. This advertisement is a trigger because some people look to celebrities for their fashion guidance, idolizing their images. This means they go to any extreme to make a purchase and that includes taking on credit to make it happen. The trigger of the advertisement is the possible need for money the browser may have. A person can be on the site looking at some shoes a celebrity is wearing, valued at nine hundred dollars. An impulsive shopper may see the said
  • 5. Lord Of The Flies Fire Symbolism The Lord of The Flies is set during WWII and is about a group of boys getting stranded on an island. Symbols in The Lord of The Flies areis a huge part of the story, but the signal fire, in my opinion, is the most significant one. The fire It symbolizes hope and rescue, and savagery. The author, William Golding, does a great job with displaying this. In the beginning of the novel, Ralph wants to start a signal fire in case a ship comes by the island. This is good because it shows that the kids want to get off of the island and don t want to be stranded there. There is a little conflict here because Jack and the choir boys want to go hunting, but Ralph wants to build the signal fire. Jack helps Ralph start the fire. Ralph spoke first, with... Then Jack comes out and commands Ralph to leave his camp, and Ralph demands that Jack return Piggy s glasses. Jack attacks Ralph, and they fight. Ralph struggles to make Jack understand the importance of the signal fire which would help them get rescued, but Jack orders his hunters to capture Sam and Eric. This sends Ralph into a fury, and he attacks Jack. Ralph and Jack fight for a second time. Piggy cries out, struggling to make himself heard over the fight. As Piggy tries to speak, hoping to remind the group of the importance of rules and rescue, Roger shoves a massive rock down the mountainside. Ralph, who hears the rock falling, dives and dodges it. But the boulder strikes Piggy, shatters the conch shell, and knocks him off the mountainside to his death on the rocks below. Jack throws his spear at Ralph, and the other boys quickly join in. Ralph escapes into the jungle, and Roger and Jack begin to torture Sam and Eric, forcing them to submit to Jack s authority and join his tribe. The fire has burnt out. The next day Ralph is awaken with the smell of smoke and is forced to come out of hiding. He runs down to the beach and sees a navy officer. Ralph and the boys are saved. His voice rose under the black smoke before the burning wreckage of the island; and infected by that emotion, the other little boys began to shake and sob too. And in the middle of them, with filthy body, matted hair, and unwiped nose, Ralph wept for the end of innocence, the darkness of man s heart, and the fall through the air of the true, wise friend called Piggy. (LOTF page 202). To conclude, the Lord of the flies has a great symbol in it. A fire is something that is so simple yet such a big part of the story. In the beginning

  • 7. United States Containment Policy During the Cold War During the Cold War, America s basic policy was that of containment of the Soviet Union. The policy of containment was based upon several principles. First, the Soviet Union wanted to spread socialism to all areas of the world. However, it was felt that the leadership of the Soviet Union felt no particular rush to accomplish their goal. The Kremlin is under no ideological compulsion to accomplish its purposes in a hurry. Like the Church, it is dealing in ideological concepts which are of a long term validity, and it can afford to be patient. (Hook and Spanier, 42). In other words, the Soviet leadership believed that, since their ideas were the correct ones, they would eventually prevail, and thus, no direct confrontation would be... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... According to the terms of the ceasefire negotiated between the French, a free election would be held in 1956, and the temporary demarcation line would be abandoned once the countries reunited following the election. However, it became clear that the communist leader of the north, Ho Chi Minh, would win the election, and the United States provided economic support and weapons to the regime governing South Vietnam, and ultimately prevented the elections and began a new war between the North and South Vietnamese (Hook and Spanier, 118). This lead to one of the largest changes in America s policy of containment: the domino theory . The thought was that if communism won out over capitalism in Vietnam, other nations throughout Indochina, the Middle East, and finally Africa would follow, much like a row of dominoes falling. To prevent this, the United States entered into the conflict, known as the Vietnam War. The domestic result of the Vietnam War is one of the most compelling arguments for the validity of the containment policy. The horrors and loss of American life caused by that war led to widespread protest in America, especially amongst those young enough to fear being drafted into the military, and started the peace movement of the sixties and early seventies. Ever since that period, Americans have been more conscientious of the effects of American foreign policy, especially where that policy
  • 8. Analysis Of White Tigers By Maxine Hong-Kingston One of my first impressions of the story White Tigers by Maxine Hong Kingston is that the story that she shares with the reader is what I believed to be a dream that she had. I thought that this dream was inspired by the times her and her mother spoke their own language, talk story. Talking story is a dialect that transcends our basic comprehension of communication. It is the hybrid of our own language, and the power of storytelling fused upon one another. I thought that Kingston told us this story because it was the best dream that she has ever imagined. This story was so moving for her since she felt a deep connection with it. However, I assumed that this story was just generic. I overlooked the familiarity that this story had. I envisioned that Hong Kingston was telling us her own version of the tale of Fa Mu Lan. Thousands of years ago, The Ballad of Fa Mu Lan, written by Tzu Yeh is about a woman, Fa Mu Lan. Mu Lan was extraordinary because she took her father s place in battle when he was chosen to fight. Not only was she brave, and thoughtful, she was the first ever woman to go to battle and live. Then I went back to White Tigers, and saw that after the fantasy that she created was stated, she reflects back on her childhood which was just merely depressing. After reading both the Ballad, and White Tigers, I realized that she injected herself into this fantasy because she wanted to rebel as did Mu Lan. Being femalefor Hong Kingston was a living nightmare,

The Torah consists of five books; Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy. For the D var Torah assignment, I was given Emor, Leviticus 21:1 24:23. Leviticus has many topics, but an important one is the Sabbath. Leviticus 21:1 24:23 (Emor) has two parts. The first part focuses on the rules for the priests, high priests, and the temple service. It is where God is instructing Moses to instruct the elder priests to teach the younger priests about the priesthood. It gives many of the rules of which priest must follow in the temple. Michaelson reflects what he does on the Sabbath and how it is very relaxing. He states, I do not use electricity on Shabbat, my home is much quieter on Saturdays than it is the rest of the week. No music, no TV, no computers even in the noise of the city, my home is an island of silence. This is a good example of someone practicing the Sabbath in his own way and what it takes to maintain the spirit and meaning of the Sabbath. He focuses on being more spiritual and not put his attention to the materialistic things. He continues and talks about how it can be troublesome when he says silence can feel uncomfortable but continues and says, But silence is just like the essence of Shabbat, and meditation: not making, not doing but being. Jay Michaelson says that the Sabbath may be awkward and difficult when it is quiet but that is the bottom line of practicing the Sabbath. During this quiet time, it makes you really think and reflect about your own
  • 10. Types of Market Structures PERFECT COMPETITION Short Run Equilibrium of the Firm Under Perfect Competition: Definition and Explanation: By short run is meant a length of time which is not enough to change the level of fixed inputs or the number of firms in the industry but long enough to change the level of output by changing variable inputs. In short period, a distinction is made of two types of costs (i) fixed cost and (ii) variable cost. The fixed cost in the form of fixed factors i.e., plant, machinery, building, etc. does not vary with the change in the output of the firm. If the firm is to increase or decrease its output, the change only takes place in the quantity of variable resources such as labor, raw material, etc. Further, in the ... The firm at price OP in the market is covering its full variable cost and a part of the fixed cost. The loss of part of fixed cost equal to the shaded area PTSN is less than, the firm would incur by closing down. In case of shut down, the firm has to bear the total fixed cost ETSF. The firm thus by producing OK output and selling at OP price is minimizing losses. Summing up, in the short run the firm will not go out of business for as long as the loss m staying the business is less than the loss from closing down. Importance Of African Slave Trade The Importations of Africans into The New World: The Atlantic Slave Trade Its Ships Slavery, a topic that still leaves a mark on the hearts of many citizens throughout America, a matter that leaves a repugnant aftertaste in our mouths. Slaves were transported from their native land, into a new world forced to do manual work that Europeans were resistant in doing and reluctant to having the natives do. Slavery lasted over 200 years; yet for some odd reason African Americans and advocates of memorializing the consistent pain, agony, torture, and mistreatment of Africans are constantly told to just Let it go , Forget about it, it happened so long ago . Those who still feel the piercing wounds of those who suffered from enslavement are expected to forget about an issue that has not even ceased longer than it lasted. A common desire that existed among all African Americans was to be free, to be released and sent back to their families from whom they were snatched. Africans were stolen from their homelands, stripped from a comfortable environment into an unfamiliar place, and forced to live under cruel conditions, known as the Atlantic Slave Trade. • 16. The World Of Economy, By Steven Levitt And Stephen Dubner In the world of economy, conventional knowledge of every day situations are challenged by those through an amoral approach which often provides controversial explanations for human actions, and behaviours. But when we eliminate values to human behaviour, economists are able to take an objective view to understand the approach; humans take in order to maximize their desires (McKenzie, Tullock, 1975). The strongest possible predictive statement used by economists to explain human behaviour is the law of demand, which explains that when price of an object increases the quantity demanded decreases and vice versa (McKenzie, Tullock, 1975). Everyone strives to maximize their satisfaction and reaching their fullest amount through the pros and cons of information, personal incentives, and ways to overcome social, biological, and environmental restraints to acquire their goals. From the ability of researching and understanding statistics, Steven Levittand Stephen Dubner, authors of Freakonomics, prove to the readers that humans are rational beings, and are aware of the benefits and costs of their actions, and that our actions are motivated, and connected by personal motivations or incentives. In the first chapter of Freakonomics, Levitt and Dubner focus on that the reaction of cheating is that humans demonstrate in response to incentives. The basics of economics are that positive and negative implications of incentives that people respond to throughout their entire lives (Levitt,
  • 17. Difference Between Classical And Classical Management Essay Management is defined as the pursuit of organizational goals efficiently and effectively. (Kinicki). Depending on who you ask or where you read, the history of business began anywhere from a couple hundred years ago to well before the Common Era. Most may claim that the written most common history of management began in 1890 with the Scientific Management Theory (McNamara). As we move toward present time, more theories have been formed that helped create management structures and one that has made lots of heads turn and we d like to discuss is Holacracy. Classical Management causes jobs with limited number of tasks involved to be assigned to people, whereas Holacracy people choose up to seven different roles which perform different types of tasks. The main difference between classical management and holacracy is that holacracy focuses to organize a company around the work that is trying to be accomplished rather than the people who are doing the work. In traditional management employees of an organization have a profound job title that employees do not possess in a holacracy. In most organizations that have a traditional management approach each employee has a specific objective that they are trying to accomplish. In a holacratic structure, employees are assigned to multiple different roles at the same time. There are no managers, or hierarchy, in a holacratic structure. Everyone in a holacratic organization is self managed. Self management creates a peer to peer

Feminism One Of The Biggest Topics Today And Is Defined Feminism one of the biggest topics today and is defined as the public support of the rights of women on the basis of equality of the sexes. In fact, the main reason feminism is such a popular topic is because of how men were treated as the dominant gender . Back then, women were given specific roles by society to be housewives and only cook and take care of the children. The idea of feminism, however, did slowly develop until in 1848 after their oppression, when the first Women s conference was held in Seneca Falls, America. • 20. Greco-Christian Beliefs Of Christianity And The Gospel Of... The Greek Alexander Romance describes the life of Alexander the Great, focusing primarily on his great military feats as a leader of Greece and highlighting why he is remembered as a great Greco Roman leader. Similarly, the Gospel of Matthew explains the life of Jesus Christ through his teachings and miracles, which underline why he is known as the greatest figure from Judeo Christian culture. Alexander and Jesuseasily compare because they died in their early thirties, were known as kings, and are remembered for impressive triumphs while on earth. Alexander sought to build his empire and essentially rule the world through victories on the battlefield and the conquering of neighboring countries. Jesus sought to destroy evil on earth by establishing God s Kingdom and teachings in the hearts of all. Comparing the lives of these great Greco Roman and Judeo Christian leaders highlight the differences in cultural opinion on the highest good in life, how one obtains that good, and what that means in connection to an afterlife. Judeo Christian and Greco Roman perspectives on elements of a meaningful life contrast in the sense that Judeo Christian actions to pursue these elements are motivated by the desire for everlasting life in heaven, while Greco Roman actions are motivated by the desire for perpetual fame on earth after one dies. Both Alexander the Great and Jesus Christ establish relationships with their communities in order to obtain their respective highest good in life. In an effort to bring salvation for all, Jesus tried to lead everyone on earth on the path towards the kingdom of heaven. In the beginning of the Gospel of Matthew, God says that Jesus will, save his people from their sins (Matthew 1:21). The idea of salvation is repeated later when Jesus himself announces, He who endures to the end will be saved suggesting that whoever follows his guidance on redemption will be able to go to heaven (Matthew 10:22). On the other hand in The Greek Alexander Romance, Alexander seeks to obtain the highest good of power by uniting surrounding empires under his rule and becoming the ruler of the world (66). In an effort to build unity and trust in him, he fought alongside his men on the front line in battle.

Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The schooling system is broken when it comes to whether students think learning the content or receiving a grade is more important. I was talking to my father about this article, and he brought up an advanced English class at the college he attended. The students who were eligible to take this class were the most talented and the highest in their class. The professor was presented with a problem. He did not feel settled grading these talented students in his class according to the bell curve college classes commonly use. He did not feel right handing out Cs and Bs to these A students. Instead of grading the students on the curve, the professor gave every kid in the class an A, and turned in their final grades on the first day. He expected all of the students to show interest, give maximal effort, and contribute to the class. He understood that they were all talented enough to receive an A. The professor eliminated any stress a grade would bring to these students, and he allowed them to fully focus on learning. I understand that a teacher cannot do that in a high school biology class, but there are ways to prevent cheating and engage learning. This biology teacher may not feel right in allowing these twenty eight kids to pass, but I believe that she should feel obligated in her heart to stay and prevent this from happening again. School is about learning about oneself and growing as a person; school is not about earning a grade and learning biology. This teacher needs to help kids learn about what is the right thing to do before twenty eight of them

Although there are high and low levels of self esteem, which can lead us to divergent conclusions. Accordingly, to the people with low self esteem they go to the conclusions of suicide, and depression, they ponder that people do not love them enough, so that they are not worthy enough to be in this life. The effects of low self esteemand high self esteem leave an impact on the career that people set their mind to. The cause of self esteem plays a huge role in our life because it will affect our future careers and success in the future. Success depends on the mindset. Moreover, the mindset is what one sets itself to think or do. Ordinarily, the mindset that the people have reflects on their own personality and the way that they view the world. Arguably, many people see the world unevenly than the other people do. They see the world as chaotic and stressful, as the other people view it regular, normal with the problems it has and the peace it has also. Lesbian mother groups fought not only against heteronormative families, but also for women s reproductive rights. Rivers underscores the advocacy of groups like the Lesbian Mother Union in favor of legal abortions, sex workers rights and health care for all women, and against forced sterilization of women of color. The author innovatively presents this advocacy work as an unrecognized part of the 1960 s sexual revolution. It would be interesting to analyze the reverse, that is, the impact the free to love revolution had on the general population s perception of the LGBT community. Lesbian mother groups also fundraised money for custody cases. Women who left their heterosexual marriage faced the possibility of custody loss, poverty, and employment discrimination. The author explores the magnified struggles of Black gay women but fails to do so with Black gay men. Rivers credits the gay father groups, which were politically centered, for 1990 s gay family respectability. The narrative of gay father communities lacks the intense anguish present on the chapters about lesbian mothers; it is more factual and impersonal. This shortcoming can probably be explained by River s upbringing in lesbian community, and, therefore, less extensive contact with the male gay community. The author describes the

Man On Wire, By James Marsh Man on wire which was set in 1947 directed by James Marsh about a french high wire artist Philippe Petit who is fascinated by New Yorks trade Centre where he has strung a six metre tight rope between the twin tires and walked across it without any fear. The documentary is about Petit s daring attempt, the aftermath and about his friends and the people who helped him achieve his life goals. Some consider it the artistic crime of the century The director has used many techniques to captivate audiences making us feel like we are apart of this incredible story. Techniques such as Interviews and archival footage. One of the most widely used documentary techniques is interviews. Interviews reflect opinions from different viewpoints creating an almost 3 dimensional story. Its helps the audience feel more engaged as it is coming from a person s point of view who was involved in the events making it feel more realistic. The audience can be assured that the story is not made up. Interviews give a sense of realism. Man on wire is a good example of the interview style being used to reflect feelings of the time Petit was on his way to making his dream come a reality. The emotions at some point were exaggerating maybe because he is a performer. But this made us as viewers feel apart of the film being able to sympathize with the characters and storyline. Marsh uses a technique where we see the subject talking on screen but we do not hear the interviewer talking or asking questions.

He feels that the new body he now possesses has lifted him on wings of silver speed. The author cites this as one way for Fowler to embrace the new form as a
  • 37. My Own Family Members And Their Spouses Essay Introduction As we all know, every relationship is different from the next. They all start at different stages in life, for different reasons, and push forward at different speeds. For this essay, I chose to interview three of my own family members and their spouses to gather the information I needed to thoroughly write this essay. In the process of each interview, it was clear to me that our authors were right; people discover love, they don t just find it (Lamanna Riedmann, 2012, p. 142). In other words, finding the one doesn t just happen instantly. Instead, it develops over time and differently than any other couple. To show the truth behind this statement, I m going to be using different concepts to describe three different couples stories and reasons behind choosing the partners they chose. I will also be comparing and contrasting the three couples and offering my personal opinions. Content The first couple I chose to include in this paper is my Uncle Don and his wife Donna. My uncle is fifty four and his wife is forty five. They are two middle class individuals who have been married for eight years. Don was raised in a lower class family of German decent in Midwestern Kansas. Donna is a mixture of Dutch, Irish, and Welch decent and was also raised in a lower class family in Southern Florida. Before they met, my uncle had been living as a bachelor for thirty plus years and Donna was married for fourteen. The two eventually met online on CatholicMatch.com. Their

The Appellant For Breach Of Its Duty Of Care As An Occupier When descending a staircase to the appellant s ice rink, the respondent lost his balance and suffered a serious injury to his right ankle as a result. The respondent brought an action against the appellant for breach of its duty of care as an occupier. The primary judge, Levy SC DCJ, found on the calculus of negligence, that the risk of injury from slipping when descending wet stairs whilst wearing skates was foreseeable, not insignificant and one which a reasonable personin the position of the appellant would have taken precautions. The primary judge held that the appellant failed to give the respondent adequate warnings and that the appellant was liable in negligence for the injury sustained by the respondent. Similarly, Emmett JA found that if it was an obvious risk, it is presumed that the respondent was aware of the risk of harm and that the primary judge was erred in concluding that the risk, which materialised in the fall, was not obvious. 2. If so, was that duty of care contended for by the respondent to warn him of that obvious risk for the purpose of s 5H(1) of the Act . Meagher JA at found that the appellant did not owe a duty of care to the respondent to provide a warning of the obvious risk, as establish in s 5F(1) of the Act . None of the specific exceptions provided in s 5H(2) of the Act were raised, thus the respondent was not liable and the reason for appeal upheld. 3. Whether the activity of walking down the stairs was part of the dangerous recreational activity of ice skating within s 5K of the Act . Meagher JA agreed with the primary judge, that the act of descending the stairs was not part of a dangerous recreational activity but merely a preparatory act. Thus, for the purpose of s 5K and s 5L(1) of the Act , the defence was not applicable and the ground of appeal dismissed. 4. Whether the No Responsibility sign contained a warning for the risks involved in descending the staircase. Meagher JA held that the No Responsibility sign did not adequately address the risks associated with descending the stairs with skates. Additionally, His Honour sought to

US KOREMATSU v U.S. 323 U.S. 214 (1944) Perhaps, according to Bernard Schwartz, the greatest failure of American law during World War II may be illustrated by the case of Fred Toyosaburo Korematsu. As graphically described in 1944 by a member of the bench, his case is one that is unique in our system: Korematsu was born on our soil, of parents born in Japan. The Constitution makes him a citizen of the United States by nativity and a citizen of California by residence. No claim is made that he is not loyal to this country. There is no suggestion that apart from the matter involved here he is not law abiding and well disposed. Korematsu, however, has been convicted of an act not commonly a crime. Secondly, regardless of the true nature of the assembly and relocation centers, we are dealing specifically with nothing but the exclusion order. To bring in the issue of racial prejudice, without reference to the real military dangers which existed, merely confuses the issue. Korematsu was not excluded from the Military Area because of hostility to him or his race. He was excluded because we are at war with the Japanese Empire . . . The military urgency of the situation required that all citizens of Japanese ancestry be segregated from the West Coast temporarily. Congress put their confidence in our military leaders and decided that they should have the power to carry out the necessary measures. There was evidence of disloyalty on the part of some so the military authorities felt that the need for action was great. The fact that we can look back and see things more calmly does not allow us to say that at the time these actions were unjustified.21 In dissenting Justice Owen Roberts felt the facts presented exhibited a clear violation of Constitutional rights. It is he stated not a case of keeping people off the streets at night, nor a case of temporary exclusion from an area for safety reasons . . . Auguste Rodin s Gates Of Hell Essay 2: An Analysis of Figural Movement and Non Textual Depictions of Dante Alighieri s The Divine Comedy in the Sculptural Motivations of Auguste Rodin s Gates of Hell. The primary motivation for Auguste Rodin s Gates of Hell are based on the desire to interpret Dante Alighieri s The Divine Comedy through amore individual response to the text. Rodin avoided a traditional interpretation of Dante s narrative by creating his own form of chaotic view of hell through a modern 19th century perspective. During this the middle to late 19th century, Rodin sought shift the focus away from literary interpretations of art, which had become the dominant form of interpretation of classical themes in France. The Gates of Hell was to avoid these text based views of Dante s work as a motivation for Rodin s commission for the doors as an early form of modernity in sculpture: Rodin s sculpture, for all its affinity to great literature from Dante to Baudelaire, has nothing ... In this compositional form, the chaos of human forms seen suffering and writhing in hell are one way in which Rodin deviated from the text that he was initially supposed to follow from the Divine Comedy. Rodin, therefore , was motivated by a more active and personal view of the chaos of hell, which was individualistically interpretative and went against traditional forms of literary interpretation in French classical art. The chaos of the human forms depicted on the gates of hell define the individualism of the sculptor s point of view, which sought to remove the sickly aspects of literary culture that was so dominant in French artistic culture. Rodin sought to move away from these sometimes gaudy expressions of literary heroism to a more realistic, chaotic, and despairing view of hell through Rodin s sculptural
  • 41. Consequences Of Losing The Amazon Rainforest The Implications of Losing the Amazon Rainforest (First Draft) Marianne Sembrano Section 4 Northern Marianas College Word Count: 1,142 Imagine life without trees. Life without trees seems unfathomable. Trees provide us with paper, timber, oxygen for us to breath, etc. Without trees, life on Earth may probably cease to exist. Trees, specifically forests, make up for thirty percent of the Earth s land (National Geographic, 2017), while water covers seventy percent (National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration, 2017). Out of that thirty percent, only a mere six percent is what tropical rainforests cover (Butler, 2008). According to Butler (2008), tropical rainforests once covered over sixteen percent of the Earth, but since then, the numbers began decreasing. Tropical rainforests, precisely the Amazon rainforest, are decreasing at such alarming rates due to deforestation (Laurence, 1998). If the Amazon rainforest were to be lost, the implications imposed are its effect on local matters such as wildlife, the environment, and human life (Foley, Asner, Costa, Coe, DeFries, Gibbs,... Snyder, 2007). Although these implications are dire consequences, some actions are being taken to prevent these measures from happening. More than twenty percent of the air we breathe comes from the Amazon rainforest (Butler, 2008). The main driver for the destruction of the Amazon rainforest lies in the need for further developing Brazil s commercial agriculture and one of the biggest

Conversion of Alcohol to Alkyl Halides Essay Conversion of Alcohols to Alkyl Halides Ankita Patel August 6, 2013 Introduction This lab consisted of the conversion of alcohols into alkyl halides through common substitution methods. These methods include SN1 and SN2 mechanism, both of which can occur for this type of reaction. For both reactions, the first step of protonation will be to add hydrogen to the OH group and then the rest of the reaction will proceed according to the type of mechanism. SN1 reactions form a cation intermediate once the H2O group leaves, then allowing a halide (such as Br) to attack the positively charged reagent1. On the other hand, SN2 reactions are one step mechanism in which no intermediate is formed and the halide attaches as the leaving ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Thus, one could safely assume the product from 1 propanol was 1 bromopropane. This is mainly due the C H wag around 1260cm 1 indication it was a terminal alkyl halide. This reaction went through SN2 mechanism not only because the alcohol was primary but also because there were no rearrangements. If a rearrangement would have occurred, it would have indicated that it was a SN1 mechanism. Further analysis was then done to determine the exact identity of the product and the chemical makeup. B B C C A A B B C C A A Figure 2: NMR Spectrum for 1 propanol The results from the NMR of 1 propanol showed 3 different prominent peaks with the peak at 2.2 cm 1 being the acetone. Because 1 bromopropane has three non equivalent hydrogens it was found to represent this set of NMR data. The other product, 2 bromopropane only had 2 different types of hydrogens and would have only had 2 peaks. Further analysis of the structure of 1 bromopropane showed that the hydrogens closest the bromine group were an indication of peak A in the graph. Because of the electronegativity of the bromine, this peak was located further downfield. There were 2 neighboring hydrogens so using the n+1 rule gave the 3 peaks. Going down peak B showed the next carbon which had 5 neighboring hydrogens thus giving 6 peaks. Finally, the carbon furthest away from the bromine was found at peak C. It had 2 neighboring hydrogens and provided 3 peaks.

Integrating innovation into a traditional rewards program is not overly cumbersome but it must be done with the full support of leadership and with the support of employees. Life After Death In Jewish Religion Death is something that everyone talks about daily, but the most important thing that people do talk about when someone is deceased is whether he or she wanted a religious burial. The Jewish community and the Hindu community play important roles in the deathof their deceased loved ones. Cremation has two purposes: to ensure a soul s happy migration and habitation in the other world and also saves its family members from the after effects of pollution (Jayaram). When children die below a certain age, they are buried upon death inside a tomb called Samadhi.
