Why Did The Tang And The Song Dynasties Were Considered...
The Tang and the Song Dynasties were considered the Golden Age of China. These two dynasties
came just after the Han, which is another very successful Dynasty, but somehow these two seem to top
it. It was due to many reasons that the Tang and the Song were considered the Golden Age, one main
reason being the Silk Road. The Silk Road was a transcontinental trade network connecting China to
the Empires living in the Western part of Asia, Africa, and Europe. It was an extremely successful part
of the Chinese economy, and improved communication tremendously with China and its Western
neighbors. For China, the Silk Road allowed them to gain different things like horses, persian rugs,
and tapestries, while they exported things such as textiles, porcelain, silk, and paper. Other reasons
these Dynasties were considered the Golden Age included the rising economy, advanced government,
and the rising population specifically in cities. The Silk Road and trade include the people of one of
the social classes of China during this time: merchants. Merchants in the Song dynasty were
considered to be the lowest social class, besides slaves, due to the idea that they took advantage of
other s labor for their own profit.
These two very successful dynasties also relied heavily on their religion to keep the people together,
and to also regulate the social classes. During this time period Neo Confucianism was the main
supported religion. Neo Confucianism of course adapted from

The Kindertransport Missions
The Kindertransport missions were an attempt at rescuing German children from the horrors of the
Holocaust ( Kindertransport, 1938 1940 ). The nazis burned Jewish synagogues, orphanages, and other
Jewish buildings (Ward). Organizations wanted to do everything in their power to protect the children
from these terrible things. While these worked for many children, there were still several that had to
suffer. Many of the Jews were separated from their families forcefully by Hitler and the Nazis. Jews
were also sent to concentration camps where they were often tortured and killed by genocide. During
the Holocaust, orphanages were burned down, children and parents were separated from each other,
and rescue missions took place. The Kindertransport ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The children continued to be effected, there were just less frequent reports of children being physically
harmed. Some of the teenage boys who were transported fought against their home country, Germany,
in World War II (Ward). Due to this, some of the boys were often killed during combat. The original
plan was to prevent the transports from being injured. This was effective for the majority of the time
although, some were still injured. There was no way to keep every child 100% safe. Homes were
promised to the transports by The Movement for the Care of Children from Germany. There were
fears that many of the transports would not have homes due to the amount of children being
transported at once. These fears slowly faded as different groups and organizations promised to find
and provide a place to stay for every transported child. To ensure the safety of the children while on
the train, soldiers searched every transports belongings before they were allowed to enter the train
(Ward). Bags were checked for any weapons or suspicious items that could be used to harm another
individual. The soldiers wanted to fulfill their job and do their best by making sure that every child
that entered the transports made it safely off. While the children were still psychologically effected,
they were mostly protected from the violence of the

Hatred In The Interlopers
Have you ever thought about how far your anger would take you? Sometimes foolish hatred can lead
to death and destruction. For example, in The Interlopers, Ulrich von Gradwitz and Georg Znaeym,
had a family feud, over a strip of forest, for century s, and both of them sought to end each other s life
because of it. Ulrich, (protagonist), is hunting Georg, (antagonist), in his family s strip of forest that
rightfully belongs to Ulrich. The plot advances by Ulrich finding Georg around a big beech tree, they
exchange words, and decide to end their feud. The theme is expressed by the whole story, two guys
decide to kill each other over a strip of forest that their family s had been fighting over for generations,
they find each other, but nature

Ambiguism In The Demon Lover By Elizabeth Bowen
The Demon Lover by Elizabeth Bowen s is set in London during World War II. Bowen adopts a
common folklore theme of the demon lover in her short story in which a woman is left traumatized
during the blitz in World War II. The story follows a married middle age woman who is haunted by the
ghost of her love from her youth. This ghost was known to be killed in the First World War nearly
twenty five years earlier. Bowens focuses on the atmosphere to create a disturbing ambiguity leading
to many interpretations to what seems like a simple ghost story; the reader wonders if the ghost is a
supernatural body or a disquieting delusion that Mrs. Drover observes. The main message conveyed in
this story is that no bad deed goes unpunished. Mrs. Drover; ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Bowen then uses a flashback to link this letter to the dead fiance. Mrs. Drover thinks back to her
former nameless fiance who went off to fight during World War I and was presumably killed, this
vision reinforces the sense of him potentially being the demon lover of the title. She is keenly aware of
her surroundings after reading this letter: the atmosphere such as the striking of the clock, the weather,
and particularly, a sense of strangeness. The letter lying on the table compels her to imagine the
various possibilities for how the letter got there in the first place. She believes the letter written by K
is some sort of threat from a ghost. This letter greatly unnerves her and she rushes upstairs and begins
to pack her things. She then rushes into a taxi only to see the face of the driver as her demon lover, she
begins to scream and pound the glass between them. Perhaps the driver of the taxi Akca, 2 was the
soldier, incarnated as a demon has come to retrieve the damned Mrs. Drover. In addition, it can be
thought of as the ghost of World War I coming back to haunt World War II. The setting is that of the
empty streets of London, the inhabitants had all fled their homes to escape the destruction that came
with war. There is a

Advantages Of Islamic Banking
1.0 Overview
Islamic banking refers to a system of banking that complies with Islamic law, also known as Shariah
law. The underlying principles that govern Islamic banking are mutual risk and profit sharing between
the provider of capital (investor) and the user of funds (entrepreneur). In other words, it ensures an
equal contribution for all parties involved, whether in profitability or in case of any loss occurred.
Activities that involve interest (riba), gambling (maisir) and speculative trading (gharar) are prohibited
(Bank Negara Malaysia, 2010). Islamic banking is interest free banking; making it compulsory to take
active part in business profit and loss sharing. Islamic banks prefer to take less risk (Shaikh Jalbani,
2009)

In this system, conventional banks make profit through the different rates of interest by borrowing and
lending of money. However, one of the drawbacks of conventional banking is that it is prohibited from
trading in the shareholding of the borrowing concern. (Shahid H. , et al., 2010). The performance of
all the banks in the country may not necessarily be on the positive side especially since the recent
financial crisis of 2007. Banks have managed to pull through but not without some being injured in
terms of stock prices or profits. In 2002, the Malaysian government started the implementation of the
banking sector reformation in respond to the 1997 financial crisis. Under the reform plan, Malaysian
government guided the merger activities in the banking sector through the central bank. Prior to that
date, the banking sector was made up of 54 domestic deposit taking institutions which became ten
large capitalized banks by the end of 2002. (Ahmad, Ariff, Skully,

Glessner House Analysis
Some Richardson photographs showed how he loved to be presented as a jovial medieval friar tuck to
the world. For example, he was interested on broadcasting himself as neomedieval master builder and
a pre industrial craftsman. When he worked in his study in the frontispiece to his true principles of

their enfilade association. Upstairs is a similar situation, with the Glessners bedrooms off the main hall

New Imperialism In The Late 19th Century
The New Imperialism came about in the late nineteenth century. Western Europe focused on
expansion trying to make their countries greater through invasion. The imperialism of these decades is
called new because of the rush to rule more territories directly rather than just control with them (730).
Nations included in this new imperialism were Africa, Asia, and the Caribbean. The Scramble to
Africa began in the 1880s. Many countries in Europe challenged each other for: dominance over the
land in Africa, for the materials produced in Africa such as palm oil, cotton, diamonds, cocoa and
rubber, and for control over the ports along the coasts in Africa. All nations had a conference in Berlin
discussing how to divide their territories in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Japanese went and visited to Europe and the United States to find out more about technological and
industrial developments in these world fairs they were holding. Japans strong desire for success
provoked neighbors like China and Russia. The Russians had built the Trans Siberian Railroad that
sent Russian colonizers who contributed to Anti Japanese groups in Korea. In the battle of Tsushima,
the Japanese destroyed the Russian fleet who traveled halfway around the globe to be defeated in.
Opening an era of Japanese domination in East Asian Politics, the victory was the first by a none
European nation over a European great power in the modern age (736). After the Japanese defeated
the Chinese in 1895, drought and famine made it a struggle for the Chinese. They created an
organization called the Society of the Righteous and Harmonious fist, or boxers who made it their
mission to defeat anyone who they thought caused their misery. Eight colonial powers put down the

Annotated Bibliography On Video Surveillance
ABSTRACT
The importance of Video Surveillance is increasing significantly everyday as organizations seek to
safe guard their physical, information and capital assets. With the same vigour, the necessity to
observe large number of people on roads, tourist spots, traffic lights, etc. is increasing to seek and pull
more and more useful information. These demands calls for Smart Video Surveillance, analogous to
traditional analog human force consuming approaches. This report is focussed to study such various
technologies and ideas for implementation in Video Surveillance System. A lot of human resources is
used for tracking and surveillance.
The effort for this report is guided for occlusion, tracking mechanism, camera shift and spacio

A character study of Kissing Kate Barlow In the book Holes, by Louis Sachar, I chose the character
Miss Katherine Barlow also known as Kissing Kate Barlow. Miss Katherine was first a schoolteacher,
but then was the most feared outlaw. In the book you find out the story of how she became an outlaw
from a schoolteacher. Miss Katherine Barlow was a sweet schoolteacher from the nineteenth century
at Green Lake. She is also known for her beauty and her spiced peaches: ...full of knowledge and full

Miss Katherine didn t like him back. She rejected his requests to go on walks, and ride fancy boats
that he owned. Instead she liked the onion man: Sam. He was black, and he sold onions around the
town with his donkey Mary Lou. Once Miss Katherine asked Sam to fix the leaking roof in exchange
for some jars of her peaches. After he finished with the roof, she asked him to fix other things. Each
time she tried to find a reason to talk to him and be around him. She did this because black people
weren t allowed to go to school. When Sam had fixed the schoolhouse completely fixed the
schoolhouse, she was sad, because she didn t get that much time to talk to him anymore. She liked
him, and they kissed: Oh Sam, she said. My heart is breaking. I can fix that, said Sam. He took hold of
her hands and kissed her. (Sachar, 111) This shows that were both in love. They didn t even take in
mind that black and white people couldn t kiss or have a future together. They simply didn t care about
it. Unfortunately black and white people weren t allowed to kiss: It s against the law for a Negro to
miss a white woman. This shows that there was still a racial problem at that time, and Sam the onion
picker wasn t allowed to kiss Miss Katherine. The positive thing about Miss Katherine is that she was
well educated and friendly as a teacher. Then her life changed completely and she became the opposite

Eukaryotic Compare And Contrast
Compare and contrast of eukaryotic and prokaryotic transcriptions
1 Overview
In both eukaryote and prokaryote, transcription is the first step for a gene to be expressed and also
highly regulated process by several distinct steps. Therefore, misregulation of transcription caused by
mutations in transcriptional regulatory sequences or factors can lead to variety of diseases. In order to
start transcription process, multi subunit RNA polymerase (RNAP) from both bacterial and eukaryotic
cells require various factors. Some of them are regulatory sequence specific DNA binding proteins
(activators or repressors) that can specifically recognize and bind to DNA at the promoter. These
factors are recruited specifically in stepwise to help RNAP along

Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep Essay
Is The World Really What it Seems?
The world is barren from war and nuclear dust; however, a few remain to roam the lonely world that
Philip K. Dick has created in Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep. This is a captivating book, and
anyone into action or thriller novels should definitely pick up this book and read it. The novel grabs
the reader s attention and does not let go because of Dick s straight forward and easy to follow writing
style.
Despite a futuristic, isolated setting, Rick Deckard is living on earth after World War Terminus while
most of his fellow humans have left to Mars. Also after the war most animals went extinct so those
still on the planet created electric animals. Rick is a bounty hunter and is not allowed to leave because
he is looking for several androids that have killed innocent humans. With the money Rick could earn,

Dick did so many things right in his novel; however, there are a few issues with Do Androids Dream
Of Electric Sheep. There are so many unanswered questions when the book ends; it almost makes the
reader feel like the book was read for nothing although it does answer the main question of the book.
Another thing is how Philip K. Dick wrote the book; he wrote it in a very relaxed fashion which is
easy to read and comprehend. Dick is very straight forward in his writing, but his informal style
results in a lot of sentence fragments, for example Conscious of his defeat and failure, Rick settled
back. And helplessly, waited for what came next. (111). It is almost seems like the little details did not
matter to him, which is an important part to making a book complete. However, he wrote his book in
this style for a reason, he did this because it creates a raw story that is easy to absorb and feel the story
instead of having to concentrate on the written words, it automatically just makes

The Iron Giant Character Analysis
Griffin Sikes
Christian Beliefs
15 November 2017
The Iron Giant was a movie that I believe had many different theological theme. But for me the one
theme that stuck out the most was of Christ and his sacrifice for us. Just like Christ sacrificed his life
for us The Iron Giant sacrificed himself for the people of Rockwell. In this paper we are going to look
at how The Iron Giant and the journey Jesus Christ and his sacrifice for us are similar, we will also
look at how we are supposed to live life like a child.
In order for us to look at this movie theologically we have to know what happened. In this movie a 50
foot tall robot crash lands on earth. He is later found by Hogarth Hough and they become friends and
they do a lot of stuff together. Eventually the army gets called and they try and destroy this monster
but this just made the giant mad and he began defending himself. At the end of the movie and bomb is
launched at the giant that will kill everyone. The Iron Giant decides to sacrifice himself for his friend
and the people of Rockwell.
The first thing I want to point out was this line from Kent Mansley who said.
No, Marv. Big things happen in big places, and the sooner I file my report, the sooner I can get back to
them. (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0129167/quotes)
I point this out because people didn t think big things could come out of a small town like Rockwell.
Just like people not thinking something good could come out of Rockwell,

During my guided reading practice, I decided to choose two students that read at a level A. These two
students were grouped together because they need almost the same help in order for them to grow as a

This book is a level B book. I choose this book because students are learning about maps during social
studies, but also I wanted students to see the different flags from other countries. I wanted the students
to know that flags do not come in the same color or shapes. With this book, the students are able to see

notice that the students were taking their time to read and they focus more on the words than looking
at the pictures. When I was helping out the students I told them that they are able to look at the
pictures in order for them to check and see if what they are saying makes sense. After I told the
students this strategy, students were looking at the pictures and sounding out the words in order for
them to check if what they said made sense in the text. Then, I ask them what kind of shapes did the
flags contain and to compare and contrast the flags. I asked to students to turn to the last page of the
book and look at the United States flag and the Mexico flag. The students compare both of the flags.
They said that the Mexico flag has a symbol while the United States flag has stars. Both students had

The Earth On The Turtle s Back
How was Earth created? How were people created? Why was everything made how it was? All of
these questions and many more were asked by Native Americans, and so they came up with stories to
answer these questions in a way they could understand. Some of these stories include; The Sky Tree,
The Earth on the Turtle s Back, Coyote Finishes His Work, Coyote Steals the Sun and Moon, The
Blackfeet Genesis, When Grizzlies Walked Upright, and The Navajo Origin Legend. According to
these titles, one could conclude that there were different stories explaining the same thing, and a lot of
them had to do with animals.
The first two stories that are similar in many ways is The Sky Tree and The Earth on the Turtle s Back.
Both of these stories are the explanation of how the land came around, stating that the Earth started as
water, and then something happened that made it have land. In both stories, it starts out with the world
just being full of water and takes place in skyland. In one story, the the Queen ... Show more content

Although, in The Blackfeet Genesis the story ends with a mother and son talking to the Chief and they

Athletics And College Athletic Association
Athletics and academics go hand in hand when it comes to college athletes, after all, the NCAA
(National College Athletic Association) states that the players are students first, and athletes second.
Because they are student athletes, obtaining their degree and furthering their education should come
first and foremost; above how many games they win, how many points they score and if the school
wins a National Championship. As many know or have seen, this is not always the case especially
when it comes to Division I FBS (Football Bowl Subdivision) Universities and revenue generating
sports (e.g. Men s Basketball and Football). One example of academics taking a back seat to athletics
is the term Academic Clustering , which is defined as 25% or more of players from a team being
enrolled in a single major. Furthermore there are super clusters which is 50% or more of players as
well as mega clusters 75% or more of players are enrolled in a single major (Fountain Finley, 2011, p.
25). Academic clustering is an important topic that requires additional research, as there s limited
research done thus far on the topic. Educators, students and parents should be aware of this issue,
given that when students are clustered into majors that may be deemed easier and/or more
convenient/flexible , they then lose out on a college experience they would enjoy by majoring in
something they are interested in. Furthermore, there is an issue of athletes graduating with degrees that

How Samoan Students Cultural Practices Inhibit Their...
How Samoan students cultural practices inhibit their involvement/participation in mathematical
problem solving 1. Background/setting the stage There are seven ages of Man said William
Shakespeare and it is not difficult to say that Man faces seventy problems in each of these ages.
However, just as it is natural to develop immunity against viruses, Man also learns and develops
several skills while facing these difficulties one of the classes of skills being analytical, logical, and
decision making and in more general, problem solving. The importance of problem solving can t be
emphasized enough as be it small or big, be it personal or professional, we face problems day in day
out and we wish to fix them. One powerful way of enabling Man to learn these skills is through
Mathematics. Several academicians would like to put it as Mathematical processes acknowledging
that if Mathematics refers to armory of concepts, the real deal is the process of using relevant tools out
of the kit to solve problems. Literature on problem solving in mathematics also has discussed
exclusively the need to teach students to reason mathematically 2. State your aim: Also how culture
leaves a deep impact on students learning abilities especially mathematical problem solving is the
main discussion of this paper. In structuring this essay, firstly I would like to emphasize on how
Samoan cultural expectation has its impact on learning of mathematical processes like problem
solving.

How Does Durden Create Identity In Fight Club
Fight Club was a movie created to have a plethora of ideas regarding societies views on ideal men,
social anarchy, poor health care and consumerism. However, the movies main idea regarding
consumerism is that consumerism is a sickness stripping people, mainly men, of their identity, sanity
and empathy. Throughout the movie there are countless examples with the main character and his
followers who are willing it give their lives for a new identity out of consumerism. This is strongly
seen with the main character Tyler Durden who reinvents himself into two people. One identity
Durden creates is how appears naturally, which is someone tiny, and who works for a consumer

biologically. He was territorial when it came to Marla appearing at the support groups instead of trying
to relate that she might have the same issues that he does. Then the second identity feels the need to
torture others in the consumer society by inserting porn into movies or peeing in soups. These identity

that anyone else who dies from this project will get no sympathy from the second identity. Thus, in the

Pros And Cons Of Raising The Driving Age Of 18
The current driving age of sixteen is implemented in almost every state in the United States. Most
states have become accustomed to the current driving age, but recently there are certain states that
believe that the legal driving age should be raised due to various reasons. The main argument for most
states is that sixteen year old s are not mature enough and lack the preparation to handle the
responsibility to drive safely. Teenagers under the age of eighteen should be required to wait longer to
get their license and should be more prepared before getting their license. Raising the age was not an
idea based on opinions. Over the years many people and organizations have recorded facts and
statistics to support their claims. An example shown on CBS News, shows that More than 5,000 U.S.
teens die each year in car crashes. The rate of crashes, fatal and nonfatal, per mile driven for 16 year
old drivers is almost 10 times the rate for drivers ages 30 to 59, according to the National Highway
Safety Administration (CBS NEWS). One huge influence on the topic was the Insurance Institutes for
Highway Safety, they created a seventeen page memo filled with statistics and examples of how
raising the age is a necessity. This is not the first attempt to use statistics to support the appeal to raise
the age. The Seattle Times states, The example the institute uses most prominently is New Jersey, the
only state with a minimum driver s license age of 17. The report cited a study from 1992 96 in which
the rate of crash related deaths among 16 and 17 year olds was 18 per 100,000 in New Jersey,
compared with 26 per 100,000 in Connecticut, which had a minimum driver s license age of 16 and 4
months (Willette). Overall the argument that raising the age will result in less teen deaths while
driving is highly justified. There are frequent examples and a huge amount of research that proves that
younger drivers are more likely to cause harm or damage than an older, more experienced driver.
One crucial evidence used in the case to raise the driving age is the mental stage teenagers are in at
this age. Teen brains at sixteen aren t as developed as an eighteen year old brain. This is showcased in
a study on the Chicago Tribune that

Space Shuttle Tragedy
This week s assignment brought back a lot of memories for me. It made me think back to what I was
doing and how this tragedy impacted not only me, but also the United States as a whole. Going
through this simulation gave me a little more insight into what actually happened and how this tragedy
could have possibly been avoided had NASA s management team taken heed to the engineers and
others who advised them to bring in someone to do a complete inspection of the shuttle. During this
simulation, I viewed this tragedy through the eyes of one of the many engineers that were employed at
NASA during this tragic time. I feel that this tragedy was the result of a combination of leadership and

From 1959 to 1975, America has been engaged in her longest and most disappointing war she has ever
been in, the Vietnam War. The war heavily taxed the country s patience and will of the government.
There were several bad decisions which led to the ultimate defeat and retreat of U.S. The Vietnam War
had a mostly negative impact on United States, by showing eventual failure of the American
government, the collapse of U.S economy, and the loss of trust from the American People.
There was political pressure. There were many presidents ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
His rational to increase the Vietnam War effort was his own version of the Domino Theory, which
basically the same as the original version, but with more aggression. Yelland summarized Johnson s
motive by this statement. If you let a bully come into your front garden one day, the next day he ll be
up on your porch, and the day after that he ll rape your wife in your own bed. (Yelland). The military
force bombed Vietnam without sympathy simply destroying anyone considered to be an enemy. Large
villages with women and children were bombed and even temples and churches that were in fire free
zones were destroyed in the process. President Johnson s popularity was at an all time low and he
publicly announced that he would not run for president for a second time (Zinn 474).
Richard Nixon vowed to get United States out of Vietnam and with that promise; he won the election
and became president in 1969. Nixon withdrew the majority of the troops back to the United States

Ever since the British and French came to Canada, the first nations people have always seen
themselves get the short end of the stick. Examples of this are: having their land taken away from
them, receiving racial discrimination, being victim to Residential schools and being assigned a
reservation to live on. For the last two centuries our Canadian government has been trying to make
amends to these First Nations People. One of these amends to status indians are: No Taxes on any

many benefits the First Nations peoples are still finding themselves living in poverty. Poverty levels

and improve psychological health in addition to physical health, noting several other authors works on
the subject. He shares the results of an experiment that was conducted with non professional dancers
of two different genres of dance; street and modern (ten of each) in his article. The purpose of this
experiment was to establish the current emotional state and background of the participants before they
started dancing and see if possible changes occurred due to the effects of dancing. The dancers were
both male and female (six female and four male street dancers, ten female modern dancers) between
the ages of 17 and 36, and the only requirement was that the participants of this study attend dance
classes at least two times a week. The positive factors that were measured in this experiment were
psychological well being and activeness, and negative factors were anxious expectations, fears and
sadness. Dancers were given a questionnaire as a pre test and post test before and after every class for
a set period of time. The questionnaire consisted of 24 adjectives that described psychological
experiences, feelings and emotional states that the dancers ranked on a scale of zero to four (zero

Short Happy Life Of Francis Macomber Analysis
In human history, the qualities of man have not changed drastically, but something changed recently.
The women have earned more and more power, which is a threat for the men, and society has changed
for the worse. In his story The Short, Happy Life of Francis Macomber, Ernest Hemingway uses
setting and characterization to address the attributes of a real man. The author uses the primitive and

able to survive. For example, the lion is known as the king of the jungle because he does not have any
other animal that can oppose him; on the other hand, a weak antelope is doomed to die and be the food
of the strong. In addition, in this primitive ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Both Cecilia and the government in Germany were unobtainable though. Dino would never be able to

Benefits Of Spinach Cells
The goal of this project to use detergents and surfactants to decellularize spinach leaves, leaving just

by Castells Sala et al. (2013) tissue Engineering is a [developing] scientific field focused on the

(Chan Leong, 2008). Biocompatibility is also an important factor. The material should be biologically
compatible with the host tissue so it does not cause an immune or inflammatory response. (Pluta,
Malina, Sobczak Kupiec, 2012). While the cells grow on the scaffold they generate a matrix around
themselves, the scaffold provides structure and is eventually absorbed by the body; leaving the newly
formed tissue to manage mechanical support. (Pluta, Malina, Sobczak Kupiec, 2012). The scaffold
needs to be absorbed by the surrounding tissue at a rate compatible with the rate of tissue growth, so
the new tissue can function independently and avoid the need for surgical removal. Lastly, to ensure
functionality, the mechanical properties of the Scaffold should compatible with the tissue type. (Pluta,
Malina, Sobczak Kupiec, 2012; Chan Leong, 2008). Designing scaffolds with the mechanical and
physical properties appropriate for the tissue type, specifically for the vascular system, is the most
challenging part of tissue engineering. (Pluta, Malina, Sobczak Kupiec, 2012). No tissue can survive
without being able to move and diffuse nutrients, oxygen, and waste product...So vasculturation, the
process of making something vascular, is key to ensuring the long term survival and function of
engineered tissue... The tissue scaffold must be

from past colonizations of Ameirca and Spain. In spite of all the influences, the older Asian culture of
the Filipinos has been kept and is clearly seen in their way of life. The Filipino culture has become
very evident and has largely been appreciated in many parts of the world. Filipinos are very passionate
of their music. They use a variety of materials to create sound. They also enjoy performing dances and
singing in groups during celebrations. The settlers from Spain introduced the Filipinos to a variety of
musical instruments such as: trumpets, drums and violins. Most of their music is modern and written
based on real life events. Religion About 83% of the population is Catholic (Spector, 2013). Most
Filipinos are deeply religious and God fearing people, they often associate their health with God. They

Strategic Change
Introduction
There is indications that in the coming years the business environment will change more frequently,
with higher speed and with greater intensity than before. To remain competitive in the long run the
enterprises needs to meet these environmental changes. However, the changes in the environment will
become increasingly difficult to foresee. A multitude of management concepts has been developed to
provide managers with better receipts to meet this changing business environment and the problems
that arise (Pfeifer, Schmitt, Voigt, 2005). This challenges the enterprises to meet and conquer
upcoming situations with the, for their explicit situation, suitable strategy. What goals an enterprise

Therefore, the authors consider the design step as the most important. Design is the third step in the
model called, and here you should motivate, enable, brief and authorise people to pursue the change
and you should identify constraints for implementation. The fifth, and last, step will take you back to
the beginning of the process to complete the loop, this is the reinforcement step. Here it is important to
understand that this can continue several years after implementation of the strategy. Environmental
factors will decide if further strategy development is needed. The control loop will hereby be closed
and the process would have to be repeated, starting with the further development of the vision (Pfeifer,
Schmitt Voigt, 2005). We argue that this step makes the model applicable to the earlier mentioned
turbulent business environment. The change of strategy and their effect on the structure and the
routines in the company might not always go as planned. Kraatz and Zajac (2001) present a study how
organizational resources affect strategic change. They came up with different perspectives on how and
why human resources could affect organizations propensity to adapt strategic change. When
organizations make a strategic change due to an environmental shift, there can be some dangers and
traps. The authors refer to Leonard Barton (1992) who argues that core competences can be core
rigidities.

boat man Utnapishtim for everlasting life. First, Gilgamesh is challenged to stay awake for 6 days and
7 nights, but he fails at the task. Secondly, he tells Gilgamesh that a prickly plant has the answer for
his eternal life and if he is able to capture it he will hold in his hands the answer for his youth. As
Gilgamesh goes to cleanse him self, a serpent takes his plant and Gilgamesh is saddened because this
now means death is in his path. He decides to make plans to take the plant to the elderly men to renew
their youth which shows leadership as a king is suppose to be. Resolution or Denouement: In the
beginning of the epic Gilgamesh the people of Uruk saw Gilgamesh as a lousy, obnoxious, arrogant
ruler. After his journeys to find everlasting life his heart began to soften and see a different perspective
of life. It was revealed long after Gilgamesh s death that he was actually considered a god. This helps
explain his fear towards death. Gilgamesh wanted to physically be a great warrior until the end of time
opposed to just another historic memory. Although it was not actually death he was afraid of,

The Poetry of W.B. Yeats Essay examples
W.B. Yeats, a key figure of the modernist movement of the late nineteenth and early twentieth
centuries, was born in Dublin in 1865. Although spending much of his childhood and youth in
London, Yeats is seen as an inherently Irish literary figure. Through his early work, employing not
only ancient Greek myth, but also Celtic legend, he sought to re ignite in Ireland notions of heritage
and tradition, which had diminished through the years. In Ireland, from around 1890 onwards, there
was a very noticeable return to all things Irish, including a re introduction of the Gaelic language,
through the Society for the Preservation of the Irish Language, and the formation of a highly
nationalist community in Ireland. Alongside these practical ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Yeats descriptions of nature often involve specific places, mostly in Ireland. In The Stolen Child , first
published in 1886, he describes a place in Sligo called Sleuth Wood. In this work, he attempts to
create a sense of the wonder of nature, the ancient and ageless mystical world of myth and legend.
Yeats tend[s] to support the idea of a connection between the idea of first, consciousness and the outer
world and second, nature and the spiritual world. Instead of concentrating on the physical beauty of
the area, he creates a world around it, where faeries [weave] olden dances (line 17) and hid[e] faery
vats, / Full of berries/And of reddest stolen cherries (line 6 8). The poet creates an intoxicating
nocturnal world, filled with wonder and spirituality. It seems like a secret world, where a community
of fabled creatures spend their time. There is a sense of peace and joy about this place, which the
anxious world, full of troubles could not hope to enjoy.
The poem has a musical tone, which is particularly evident in the refrain at the end of each stanza:
Come away, O human child!
To the waters and the wild
With a faery, hand in hand,
For the world is more full of weeping than you can understand.
This musical tone brings the words to life, evoking a sense of ethereality in the Gaelic effects of
rhythm...so delicate that it seems to come from the rise and fall of intonation in the Irish voice. The
melodious

What Does Anthropology Mean To Me
Anthropology and what it means was very interesting to me but the thing that spoke out to me is
holistic perspective. This is a fundamental principle of anthropology, that the various parts of our
human culture and biology must be viewed in the broadest possible context in order to understand
their interconnections and interdependence . This means we must have an open mind when studying
anthropology and see the world with a new pair of eyes; not those, which only know our own culture.
In a way anthropologist are scientists performing experiments and have no personal say in what is the
correct outcome of that experiment. Therefore anthropologist are seeking to understand how humans
interact and their belief system; as opposed to trying to

The Crusades
The precondition for discovering America consisted of events and circumstances occurring over
centuries altering the social, political, economic, and technological landscape of the world. Events
dating back as far as the crusades provided a global exchange of ideas and technology, which overtime
provided the tools necessary to discover the New World. Trade was essential to global connectivity,
growth within a nation, economic stability, and acquiring knowledge. The Europeans were able to take
full advantage of the existing trade networks that ran across AfroEurasia as well as the Indian Ocean
and Mediterranean Sea. These trade routes provided new resources, luxury goods, and an exchange of
cultural as well as technological ideas. Additionally, the Crusades opened up trade routes with the east,
aiding the west in importing eastern luxury goods and acquiring new ideas. The Crusades led to
Europe s discovery of sugar. The Crusades exposed the Europeans to ... Show more content on

Overland trade networks were successful under the Mongol Empire. Following the Red Turban
Movement, a religious movement mixed with militarism, the Mongol empire collapsed. The collapse
of the Mongol Empire led to trade delays and difficulties. New trade barriers increased the importance
of ocean trading routes to continue to trade with other civilizations. Additionally, when Europe began
to run low on gold deposits, explorers began searching West Africa for new gold resources. The
collapse of the Mongol Empire had a profound political effect as trade became more difficult, the
Ming dynasty was founded. War between the Ming dynasty and Mongols would persist, changing Asia
s overwhelming naval presence on the oceans and their trade relations with the rest of the world. Trade
with the East did improve with the rise of the Ottoman Empire, but lacked the same fluidity as present

Banquet At Dunsinane
Banquet at Dunsinane
In Macbeth the scene of the banquet at Dunsinane shows the guilt of Macbeth, reveals to us the extent
of his madness and marks the suspicion of the Scottish lords. Macbeth shows the audience the extent
of his insanity, rouses suspicion from the Scottish lords and contributes to the overarching theme of
guilt. Macbeth s constant shouting at the apparition shows how far gone he is. It marks his lack of self
control in the face of his guilt, his fear of being discovered and refusal to come to terms with what he
has done. Likewise the lords see this outburst and are clued into Macbeth s usurping of power by his
blaming of others, he makes himself suspicious and tells them of his murdering Banquo. Macbeth s
quilt here develops a theme of guilt in the play
Macbeth shows the Scottish lords that he has bodies in his closet by the way he speaks making
reference to haunting spirits, trying to shift the blame of his actions onto others and by referencing the
murders he has made. In many religions the soul of a body lives on after death and continues the life
of the person, Macbeth possibly believing this in his fit of anger at the apparition infront of him says
... Our monuments/ shall be the maw of Kites Shakespeare.III.iv.120 121. Kites meaning vultures,
scavenge for food by eating dead bodies. An unprotected corpse could be eaten by them and thus the
soul would die. Macbeth is haunted by the soul of Banquo, which he would have reason to be haunted
by.

Advantages Of Flats
If you are looking to buy flats in Gurgaon from Unitech for an investment opportunity, you will find a
high demand for furnished flats. For tenants looking for a temporary flat, a holiday home, or a
weekday flat, renting a furnished flat will save them time and money on buying and transporting their
own furniture. This is why buying unfurnished flats and filling them with high quality furniture is such
a great investment opportunity. Landlordology says that furnished flats can be much more profitable in
the long run to landlords than unfurnished flats and also have numerous benefits that tenants are
looking for. Here are just a few reasons why and some demographics looking for furnished flats:
1. More Appealing to New Tenants
Some tenants are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Renting out two or three bedroom flats means that their families can also stay with them during their
work visit. It is a much better saving for business travellers than the minibar at a hotel and much nicer
to have a fridge full of food or a washer and dryer when they need them without having to wait for
hotel room service. Even just a sofa to lie on and a tv to watch at the end of a long day are a bonus.
5. Students
Parents who are looking for flats for their children starting university will want somewhere temporary
but also safe and comfortable. This is another market which has a high demand for rented furnished
apartments. Luxury apartments with built in security systems will be attractive to parents, particularly
parents of girls living alone. Students can enjoy their university life with luxury amenities and their
parents have peace of mind that they are staying safe.
As you can see, there are many advantages to tenants for renting furnished flats and many different
markets that landlords can tap into. Done correctly, it can be a great investment opportunity that
returns money quickly and has potential for long term financial

Awakened Short Story
Awakened (1) I awoke dazed and confused by the events that had happened the night before. As I sit
up I feel extremely light headed. I look around as my sight slowly returns. Everything is still kind of
blurry but I can tell that I m outside. I get up and slowly stumble to my left, I reach out to what turns
out to be a tree and try to regain my balance. As I sit back down I try to remember the events of last
night, all that I can remember is passing out here on the ground late last night. I think, right now it
must have been about 10am, and I didn t have the slightest clue of where I was, I was still feeling a
little faint. I stand up and walk toward what looks like a path of some kind and decide to continue

Terrified I jumped behind a tree hoping it wouldn t notice. It didn t even glance my way as it raced
ahead, it appeared to be chasing a black and white rabbit that was ahead of me. As it passed by me I
let out a sigh of relief he didn t see me. I think to myself with a hint of gratitude in my voice. I look
down and see a beaten up brown leather wallet under my foot. what s that doing out here in the middle
of nowhere? I ask myself. Just as I bent down to pick up the wallet my pocket lets out a shriek. What
the hell was that?! I ask myself as my pocket lets out another ear splitting shriek. I reach into my
pocket only to reveal my phone shrieking in unison with an incoming call. I look down at the caller ID
and it shows an unknown caller, I answer it hoping it s someone who can help me figure out where I
am. Hello? I say hopeful, Hello says the voice on the other end of the phone, his voice is slightly
unnerving but I decide to shake it off, until I heard his next words I heard you found my wallet, return
it to me and I will explain to you what happened to you last night. You were there? I asked scared but
with excitement in my voice nonetheless. Yes I was, but you would not remember me for I was
unimportant to the night s events Sam Knight. How do you know my name? I ask suddenly wary of
our words. Like I said before I was there just unimportant and unnoticed, bring me my wallet to the
mountain straight ahead I will give you two days time to get here and return it or a great misfortune
will befall you. His voice was deep and dark when he said these last words and remember Sam Knight
don t open the wallet do you understand? Yes I said very timid, just then my phone died and I was
alone in the dark once more only this time I had to find the owner of this

  • 2. Why Did The Tang And The Song Dynasties Were Considered... The Tang and the Song Dynasties were considered the Golden Age of China. These two dynasties came just after the Han, which is another very successful Dynasty, but somehow these two seem to top it. It was due to many reasons that the Tang and the Song were considered the Golden Age, one main reason being the Silk Road. The Silk Road was a transcontinental trade network connecting China to the Empires living in the Western part of Asia, Africa, and Europe. It was an extremely successful part of the Chinese economy, and improved communication tremendously with China and its Western neighbors. For China, the Silk Road allowed them to gain different things like horses, persian rugs, and tapestries, while they exported things such as textiles, porcelain, silk, and paper. Other reasons these Dynasties were considered the Golden Age included the rising economy, advanced government, and the rising population specifically in cities. The Silk Road and trade include the people of one of the social classes of China during this time: merchants. Merchants in the Song dynasty were considered to be the lowest social class, besides slaves, due to the idea that they took advantage of other s labor for their own profit. These two very successful dynasties also relied heavily on their religion to keep the people together, and to also regulate the social classes. During this time period Neo Confucianism was the main supported religion. Neo Confucianism of course adapted from ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The nazis burned Jewish synagogues, orphanages, and other Jewish buildings (Ward). Organizations wanted to do everything in their power to protect the children from these terrible things. While these worked for many children, there were still several that had to suffer. Many of the Jews were separated from their families forcefully by Hitler and the Nazis. Jews were also sent to concentration camps where they were often tortured and killed by genocide. During the Holocaust, orphanages were burned down, children and parents were separated from each other, and rescue missions took place. The Kindertransport ... Some of the teenage boys who were transported fought against their home country, Germany, in World War II (Ward). Due to this, some of the boys were often killed during combat. The original plan was to prevent the transports from being injured. This was effective for the majority of the time although, some were still injured. There was no way to keep every child 100% safe. Homes were promised to the transports by The Movement for the Care of Children from Germany. There were fears that many of the transports would not have homes due to the amount of children being transported at once. These fears slowly faded as different groups and organizations promised to find and provide a place to stay for every transported child. To ensure the safety of the children while on the train, soldiers searched every transports belongings before they were allowed to enter the train (Ward). Bags were checked for any weapons or suspicious items that could be used to harm another individual. The soldiers wanted to fulfill their job and do their best by making sure that every child that entered the transports made it safely off. While the children were still psychologically effected, they were mostly protected from the violence of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. Ambiguism In The Demon Lover By Elizabeth Bowen The Demon Lover by Elizabeth Bowen s is set in London during World War II. Bowen adopts a common folklore theme of the demon lover in her short story in which a woman is left traumatized during the blitz in World War II. The story follows a married middle age woman who is haunted by the ghost of her love from her youth. This ghost was known to be killed in the First World War nearly twenty five years earlier. Bowens focuses on the atmosphere to create a disturbing ambiguity leading to many interpretations to what seems like a simple ghost story; the reader wonders if the ghost is a supernatural body or a disquieting delusion that Mrs. Drover observes. The main message conveyed in this story is that no bad deed goes unpunished. Mrs. Drover; ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Bowen then uses a flashback to link this letter to the dead fiance. Mrs. Drover thinks back to her former nameless fiance who went off to fight during World War I and was presumably killed, this vision reinforces the sense of him potentially being the demon lover of the title. She is keenly aware of her surroundings after reading this letter: the atmosphere such as the striking of the clock, the weather, and particularly, a sense of strangeness. The letter lying on the table compels her to imagine the various possibilities for how the letter got there in the first place. She believes the letter written by K is some sort of threat from a ghost. This letter greatly unnerves her and she rushes upstairs and begins to pack her things. She then rushes into a taxi only to see the face of the driver as her demon lover, she begins to scream and pound the glass between them. Perhaps the driver of the taxi Akca, 2 was the soldier, incarnated as a demon has come to retrieve the damned Mrs. Drover. In addition, it can be thought of as the ghost of World War I coming back to haunt World War II. The setting is that of the empty streets of London, the inhabitants had all fled their homes to escape the destruction that came with war. There is a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In this paper we are going to look at how The Iron Giant and the journey Jesus Christ and his sacrifice for us are similar, we will also look at how we are supposed to live life like a child. In order for us to look at this movie theologically we have to know what happened. In this movie a 50 foot tall robot crash lands on earth. He is later found by Hogarth Hough and they become friends and they do a lot of stuff together. Eventually the army gets called and they try and destroy this monster but this just made the giant mad and he began defending himself. At the end of the movie and bomb is launched at the giant that will kill everyone. The Iron Giant decides to sacrifice himself for his friend and the people of Rockwell. Athletics And College Athletic Association Athletics and academics go hand in hand when it comes to college athletes, after all, the NCAA (National College Athletic Association) states that the players are students first, and athletes second. Because they are student athletes, obtaining their degree and furthering their education should come first and foremost; above how many games they win, how many points they score and if the school wins a National Championship. As many know or have seen, this is not always the case especially when it comes to Division I FBS (Football Bowl Subdivision) Universities and revenue generating sports (e.g. Men s Basketball and Football). One example of academics taking a back seat to athletics is the term Academic Clustering , which is defined as 25% or more of players from a team being enrolled in a single major. Furthermore there are super clusters which is 50% or more of players as well as mega clusters 75% or more of players are enrolled in a single major (Fountain Finley, 2011, p. 25). Academic clustering is an important topic that requires additional research, as there s limited research done thus far on the topic. Educators, students and parents should be aware of this issue, given that when students are clustered into majors that may be deemed easier and/or more convenient/flexible , they then lose out on a college experience they would enjoy by majoring in something they are interested in. One powerful way of enabling Man to learn these skills is through Mathematics. • 25. Pros And Cons Of Raising The Driving Age Of 18 The current driving age of sixteen is implemented in almost every state in the United States. Most states have become accustomed to the current driving age, but recently there are certain states that believe that the legal driving age should be raised due to various reasons. The main argument for most states is that sixteen year old s are not mature enough and lack the preparation to handle the responsibility to drive safely. Teenagers under the age of eighteen should be required to wait longer to get their license and should be more prepared before getting their license. Raising the age was not an idea based on opinions. Over the years many people and organizations have recorded facts and statistics to support their claims. An example shown on CBS News, shows that More than 5,000 U.S. teens die each year in car crashes. The rate of crashes, fatal and nonfatal, per mile driven for 16 year old drivers is almost 10 times the rate for drivers ages 30 to 59, according to the National Highway Safety Administration (CBS NEWS). One huge influence on the topic was the Insurance Institutes for Highway Safety, they created a seventeen page memo filled with statistics and examples of how raising the age is a necessity. This is not the first attempt to use statistics to support the appeal to raise the age. The Seattle Times states, The example the institute uses most prominently is New Jersey, the only state with a minimum driver s license age of 17. The report cited a study from 1992 96 in which the rate of crash related deaths among 16 and 17 year olds was 18 per 100,000 in New Jersey, compared with 26 per 100,000 in Connecticut, which had a minimum driver s license age of 16 and 4 months (Willette). Overall the argument that raising the age will result in less teen deaths while driving is highly justified. There are frequent examples and a huge amount of research that proves that younger drivers are more likely to cause harm or damage than an older, more experienced driver. One crucial evidence used in the case to raise the driving age is the mental stage teenagers are in at this age. Teen brains at sixteen aren t as developed as an eighteen year old brain. In the article, Hrusova explains that dance can help develop social skills and improve psychological health in addition to physical health, noting several other authors works on the subject. He shares the results of an experiment that was conducted with non professional dancers of two different genres of dance; street and modern (ten of each) in his article. The purpose of this experiment was to establish the current emotional state and background of the participants before they started dancing and see if possible changes occurred due to the effects of dancing. The dancers were both male and female (six female and four male street dancers, ten female modern dancers) between the ages of 17 and 36, and the only requirement was that the participants of this study attend dance classes at least two times a week. The positive factors that were measured in this experiment were psychological well being and activeness, and negative factors were anxious expectations, fears and sadness. Dancers were given a questionnaire as a pre test and post test before and after every class for a set period of time. The questionnaire consisted of 24 adjectives that described psychological experiences, feelings and emotional states that the dancers ranked on a scale of zero to four (zero meaning they never experienced the feeling at all and four meaning they experienced ... The material should be biologically compatible with the host tissue so it does not cause an immune or inflammatory response. (Pluta, Malina, Sobczak Kupiec, 2012). While the cells grow on the scaffold they generate a matrix around themselves, the scaffold provides structure and is eventually absorbed by the body; leaving the newly formed tissue to manage mechanical support. (Pluta, Malina, Sobczak Kupiec, 2012). The scaffold needs to be absorbed by the surrounding tissue at a rate compatible with the rate of tissue growth, so the new tissue can function independently and avoid the need for surgical removal.
