1984 George Orwell Essay
Psychological manipulation is a social influence that aims to change the perception or behavior of
others through deceptive or even abusive tactics. Physical control is physically doing an action
yourself. In nineteen eighty four orwell created a totalitarian universe with its own history and inner
mechanism. George Orwell s novel is focused against fascism.
Psychological control is a major theme throughout 1984 and Orwell shows this theme is possible by
giving examples of how a totalitarian government could gain psychological control using their power
to control history and technology. George Orwell wrote 1984 as a warning to people of what might
come in the future if people were not careful about our government. During the time Orwell ... Show

Telescreens with hidden microphones are placed throughout the city to watch the citizens every action.
There were even telescreens in every citizen s room that ran Big Brothers picture. It was one of those
pictures which are so contrived that the eyes follow you about when you move. BIG BROTHER IS
WATCHING YOU, the caption beneath it ran. (Orwell 5). People were constantly being watched and
controlled by the party. This general psychological control is the second frightening theme in 1984.
Another example uses children. Beginning at an early age, children were brainwashed and encouraged
to spy on their parents by an organization called the Junior Spies. This organization destroyed family
structure by having children report any instance of disloyalty to the Party. The telescrenes and children
are a perfect example to how the totalitarian government abuses technology for its own purpose
instead of using their knowledge to improve civilization.
Just like the telescrenes, the theme of psychological control is scattered throughout Orwell s 1984.
Those who control the past, control the future: who controls the present controls the past , by
understanding this and a totalitarian government, we can see that with manipulation of history, such as
rewriting it and deleting personal photos, and the use of technology like cameras and microphones,
psychological control of people is easier than it

How Does Donahue Present Depression In Rabbit Run
Rabbit Runs Away from Depression
Depression has the ability to control one s behavior. In Rabbit Run, John Updike uses Janice and
Rabbit to portray depression s manipulative way of destroying a person. Through many articles, it is
explained how the effects of depression cause a downwards spiral of self destruction. Many authors
have explored the effects of depression and linked it alcohol abuse as well. This can be easily
compared to Janice s alcohol consumption throughout the book and how it lead her to her downfall
and eventual murder of her daughter as well as Rabbit s indecisive mind. As Rabbit runs from Janice
in an attempt to chase his youth, he is just as numb as his wife. Janice drinks her pain away. However,
this does not only affect Janice, but her whole family. Her kids are dragged into this situation as well.
As one character struggles through depression and all that results from it, the rest of her family is
dragged through it with her.
Depression is not only a mental illness that disables one s ability to think and act freely, but it can
actually mold someone into a different person while taking over his or her entire life. The dark illness

In another novel by Updike, Too Far to Go, the characters share the same issue with alcohol abuse. It
is explained through a criticism by Peter Donahue that [the character s] drunkenness bolsters his
preoccupation with his own perception of events and seemingly removes him from any consequences
for his actions (Donahue) similarly to Janice. The author also states how Richard knew though his
mind was deeply cushioned and cottony and difference that an event has occurred which in another
sobriety he would regret his intoxication but for him not only from an emotional response to the
accident from the physical pain of it as well which like Rabbit feels as he runs away from his
situation. It is almost as if he does not feel the pain of

The Human Brain
Many people do not understand the complexity of the human brain. Just as when one goes to buy a car
they focus on the outside features instead of what is under the hood and how it works. Just as a car has
an engine and other features working the car, the brain has different functions that control not only
your movements, but also the way that you perceive the world. With the brain only weighing around
three pounds it is known to be the best computer system there is. The brain has to communicate with
the senses and muscles in the body and it does that through neurons. The neuron transmits the
information to different parts of the body and is considered a building block of the brain. Neurons
make up the nervous system which performs ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The peripehal nervous system is broken into two brances which include the somatic nervous system
and the autonomic nervous system. The somatic nervous system transmits the messages between the
central nervous system and your sensory organs. It regulates movement, posture and balance. It
contains your sensory and motor neurons. Once messages are transmitted through sensory neurons our
brain can interpret the picture you are seeing in front you you, the food you are tastign and even a hot
flame touching your finger tip. Once the message gets to the CNS it sends messages back through the
motor neuron that controls movements. It has voluntary control. For example, if you touch a flame,
the sensory neuron from your finger tip will send the message that it is hot and your brain will deliever
a message back to move your finger. It happens almost instantly. The other branch which is the
autonomic nervous system controls the internal body processes. You body does these things
automaticallt without having to think about it. Although, you could still have control over some of the
processes, such as breathing. The ANS is broken into two different parts which is the sympathetic
nervous system and the parasympathetic nervous system. The sympathetic nervous system speeds up
bodily processes. It is considred an alarm

Rhetorical Strategies Of The Digital Age Has Destroyed...
Loss of Rights: Rhetorical Strategies in Groskopf s The digital age has destroyed the concept of
ownership, and companies are taking advantage of it
The digital age is changing our rights on the subject of ownership: less and less people know whether
they can copy, sell or even lend their digital goods. An author named, Christopher Groskopf, wrote
The digital age has destroyed the concept of ownership, and companies are taking advantage of it,
published in 2016 in the Quartz, and he argues that intuition has fallen apart when talking about
ownership of digital goods and that companies use their fine prints to take benefit from this. Groskopf
uses a survey, reputable sources, facts and statistics in order to appeal to similar feelings and
experiences in her adult readers; however, toward the end of the article, he weakens his argument by
contradicting himself.
In his article, Groskopf first sets the stage by letting the reader take a survey to let them see if they
know the type of ownership a reader would have over an example of a digital book. His survey then
outlines the uneven distribution of answers given showing that most of his readers are wrong about
digital ownership rights. Groskopf continues by stating that most of the rights are outlined in the
Terms of Service (TOS) of the selling company, a statistic from a reputable source showing that the
majority of buyer s do not read the TOS and some examples demonstrating how companies can take
advantage of this

A Domestic Dilemma Character Analysis
Carson McCullers usage of literary elements, including setting, character, and conflict, contributes to
the overall development of the theme of patience that is present throughout the book. Martin
Meadows, the protagonist in the story, is portrayed as a hardworking and persevering man with a great
amount of love for his family; the story recounts a day when Martin arrives home from work to a
mentally absent wife who is supposed to be taking care of the children. McCullers grants Martin
Meadows the gift of patience in order to cope with the conflict and his drunk wife. Without the usage
of these details and elements, the ideas presented in the story would not have been as powerful. A
Domestic Dilemma is a story that is remembered and the purpose is made clear through McCullers
usage of setting, description of character and development of conflict. The changing setting helps
articulate a message of patience and perseverance, especially when describing how the setting affects
the characters of Martin and Emily. Both Martin and Emily find themselves going through a similar
adjustment, but they have different ways of coping with the change. Martin has to relocate his family
due to changing circumstances in his job, and he doesn t realize until after his company transfers him
to New York that his wife is suffering. Emily then turns to alcohol to cope with her discomfort; this
leads to issues within the walls of Martin s home and therefore brings out Martin s attributes of

her to do numerous harmful things to herself including binging, which then led to anorexia. Lovato
has shared her story with various magazines, newspaper, and even live interviews to let people know

Advantages Of Robots In Medicine
Robotics in medicine Faculty of General Medicine Group4 Introduction Robots these days are
developing in all of the fields, and in less than 15 years this development became faster. In medicine
robots are manly used in surgeries for its many advantages, but it differs from the other fields that
until now robots did not take the doctors place, so robotics in medicine are used to just help in the
surgeries. In this assay i am going to write about robots in medicine, to see if they are helpful in
medicine or not by comparing their advantages to their disadvantages, and by looking at the fields that
they are already using robots, and finally I will list some examples and focus on two to know more
about how it works. Medical application the most importing and spread application is in robotic
surgeries, it is a method so doctors can do small and precise surgeries that are hard to be done by
them, or even impossible. Using small tools attached and managed by computer that is controlled by
the doctor, the main surgeries are in brain, spinal cord, throat, knee, or heart (figure 1.1). These
operations are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Looking at the application that I already mentioned above we find many advantages. The most
obvious benefit is for the surgical application, small scars by decreasing the incision to decrease the
blood loss and no transfusion needed specially for patients that have blood issues, small incisions also
needed in surgeries in areas like brain and spinal cords. The second advantage is the robots precision
that is needed for the sensitive operations. Length of hospital stay will be less also because of the fast
recovery and because of using the diagnosis applications that checks the patient status continuously in
his/her home. What also could be a benefit is to decrease the operation

The Key Areas Separating Bosses From Leaders
By examining the definitions of the words, you ll already be able to notice the intricacies at play.
While at the outset the two words can seem rather similar and interchangeable, the closer examination
highlights differences that give both roles a different meaning. So, what are the key areas separating
bosses from leaders? The major differences between the two can be divided into six core areas of the
focus, the driving force, the approach to work and objectives, the source of their authority, the
communication and delegation style, and their accountability.
The focus
When it comes to an organisation, the key consideration is often the focus of the organisation. What is
it for and why? The underlying focus is what drives an organisation, but also the individual to perform
the required tasks. The focus gives direction and largely determines the approach to work. So, what is
the focus for the two?
For a boss the end objective is profit. A boss is in a role, which is about guaranteeing the organisation
the best financial results that ll help guarantee the continuation of the business. That s behind the boss
interest in supervising things getting done. The boss is not interested in how the subordinates get from
Point A to Point B because the result is all that matters. If you are able to achieve the goals and do it in
an efficient manner, then the boss is happy as this guarantees the organisation enjoys a profit. The
orientation of the boss is about achieving the goals,

Walker s Controversy
Walker appreciates the dangers of the American/Soviet rivalry. He acknowledges its devastating
impact on Europe as the last and greatest of Europe s civil wars. Yet he also calls the Cold War a in the
end, a resilient and predictable system for the preservation of human civilization. Unlike some recent
commentators, he does not dismiss the Cold War as some kind of colossal mistake that one side or the
other should have been prudent enough to avoid. The Soviet Union s collapse, he argues, seems
inevitable only in retrospect, and the West s fears of Soviet tyranny and expansion were not
unfounded. Throughout his study, Walker never loses sight of the fact that although the Soviet Union

THE END OF HISTORY AND THE LAST MAN is the author s response. His thesis is simple. The
failure of communism and the disappearance of the Soviet Union has resulted in the victory of liberal
democracy and capitalism. There are, he claims, no more challengers. Security and freedom have been
achieved, and consequently, history has ended.
THE END OF HISTORY AND THE LAST MAN ignores the confusing events and details of most
history and is more philosophical, even teleological, in its orientation. The author states that only
liberal democracy and the market economy have satisfactorily provided what Plato claimed to be
necessary for happiness: the appetitive (food and sex), the reasoning (knowledge and truth), and the
need to be recognized as human. Hegel s concept of thesis, antithesis, and synthesis explained the
process of history, with liberal democracy as the final synthesis according to Fukuyama. Marx, like
Hegel, saw the world in a clash of evolving opposites, but while Marx predicted that the triumph of
communism would lead to the withering away of the state, Fukuyama instead argues that with the
victory of liberal democracy it is history that has

Narcissism In Patrick Bateman s American Psycho
American Psycho Patrick Bateman is a 26 year old investment banker, living in the 80 s New York.
On the surface he s rich, attractive and charming. But behind his successful façade rests a soulless
serial killer. When he s not committing murders or having sex, he s worrying about how the world
perceives him. But is Patrick really a killer? He admits to his crimes to his friends, but everyone thinks
he s joking or ignore him completely, and to Patrick s dismay the bodies seem to be disappearing
without a trace. Bateman believes that he is a psychopath, and describes himself as one, but I don t
think that s true. His distorted sense of self, mood swings, feelings of emptiness and hallucinations
matches both Borderline Personality Disorder and Narcissistic Personality Disorder. Narcissism is one
of Patrick s defining traits, if someone s better than him, or has something of higher value, he turns

Often, they would share the load of machinery by taking turns carrying the equipment and giving
relief to the men that routinely carried it. This is just some of the things that were specialized to an
individual according to their size or skill. But the soldiers also carried things that weren t so necessary,
yet they would bring these things along anyway for certain personal reasons and a sense of security.
Not only did the soldiers carry heavy physical burdens, they carried heavy emotional burdens of fear
and the need to maintain ties to home. According to Evans, Grief, terror, love, longing these were
intangibles, but the intangibles had their own mass and specific gravity, they had tangible weight
(Evans, 2015). O Brien clearly defines one of the hardest things the men had to carry, By and large
they carried these things inside, maintaining the masks of composure. (O Brien, 1990, p. 184). Henry
Dobbins, who was a big man, always had a lot of extra food with him. He burned up food very quickly
and went through food much faster than most. He would also carry his girlfriend s pantyhose around

Mortgage Fraud, Fraud And Fraud
Mortgage fraud is one of the fastest growing crimes in the United States. (Freddie Mac, 2015) There
are three categories of mortgage fraud, fraud for housing, fraud for profit and fraud for criminal

fraud. The masterminds or initiators receive the largest percentage of the profit while others in the
scheme may receive a few thousand dollars for their part in the misrepresentation. Mortgage brokers

to be the case. Many banks will take on more risks knowing that they could always transfer a large
part of them. This may lead to Collusion Fraud or Fraud or profit which is the most costly type of

A SCENE ANALYSIS OF CITIZEN KANE
Citizen Kane is a 1941 film written, starred and directed by Orson Welles, a 25 year old untested
producer at the time. It is contemplated by many as the greatest film of all time evidenced by the
numerous plaudits and nominations it has won. It has drawn praise due to its excellent use of
cinematography and narrative techniques. The film examines the life and legacy of Charles Forster
Kane played by Welles. In the opening scene of the movie, Kane dies and his last word was Rosebud.
The film is largely based on flashbacks describing his life. A reporter, Jerry Thompson is tasked with

All the actors give splendid performances not only in this scene but also throughout the film to belie
the film s relatively low cost. This is partly due to Welle s idea of conducting rehearsals before doing
the actual shooting. This was also unheard of in the film industry at the time making it even more
impressive. Conversations are well set and delivered, action scenes well coordinated and emotions so
believable. All the actors in this film display great mastery of their various roles and display
thoughtfulness in front of the camera and the result are the amazing piece of cinema work Citizen

The Devonian Era
The Devonian period initiating approximately 416 Mya and culminating 359 Mya represents a
geologic time period, which characterizes a major part of the Paleozoic Era. Traversing between the
Silurian period (444 416 Mya), and Carboniferous period (359 299 Mya) the Devonian period
epitomizes substantial modifications in the world s ecology and geography.
In the early Devonian period, also known as the Lochkovian, Pragian and Emsian epoch, due to
substantial tectonic activity, resulted in the convergence of numerous continental land masses, forming
into two supercontinents known as Euramerica and Gondwana. Both these supercontinents assembled
comparatively close to each other in a single hemisphere near the equator and were surrounded by
massive oceans which resulted in the formation of subduction zones. (Sites with a high rates of

The plates colliding together produced considerable seismic activity, thus leading to the formation of
the Acadian Mountain range. The Acadian orogeny is the third of the four orogenies that created the
Appalachian orogeny and subsequent basin. (Faill, 297) Orogeny describes any event that leads to
enormous structural deformation of the Earth s lithosphere due to the interaction between tectonic
plates. This series of Appalachian orogeny resulted in the formation of the Appalachian Mountains of
eastern North America. The formation started in the early Devonian period, however reached its
pinnacle during the mid to late Devonian period. As a result of the newly formed mountain range,
there was extensive erosion, which produced prodigious amounts of sediment, which was then
deposited in lowlands and shallow seas nearby during the mid to late Devonian period. This created a

The Thin Blue Line Directed By Errol Morris
What Is the Truth
Our need to believe what we want to believe is stronger than our need for the truth. I agree with this
quote based on personal experience. The movie, The Thin Blue Line directed by Errol Morris, is an
example of believing in what we want rather than the truth. Randall Adams a wrongly convicted man,
David Harris a criminal let off the hook, and people such as Marshall Touchton and Melvyn Carson
Bruder gives support to this belief. Randall Adams is the epitome of being in the wrong place at the
wrong time. Randall met David when he needed a ride to go get gas, he did not however imagine that
he would unintentionally be set up for murder. I kept telling them what happened and they didn t want
to believe me Randall said. David shot a police officer and killed him and then blamed it on Randall.
When eye witnesses described a man that looked like Randall and David knew he could get away with
the crime. To me none of the eye witnesses were very trustworthy, but when that s the only thing you
have to go on then you have to take what you can get. This relates to a recent tragedy that happened in
my family. My cousin, Ronnie, was accused of raping his step daughter Shyanne. No one believed
him except for the people that matter like the jury and the judge. Shyanne somehow got all of the
court to believe her based on her statement and with the help of her grandparents who believed her. I
do not think there was much evidence in the case but statements from the

The Federal Government Should Have Greater Authority On...
This paper will discuss the prevailing Canadian debate of whether the federal government should have
greater authority on administering health care. Essentially, Canada s health care program referred to as
Medicare, is administered by the provinces while regulated by the federal government through the
Canada Health Act of 1984. One side of the debate, using the political theory of pluralism, argues
against federal leadership and instead emphasizes for provincial authority on matters of health care
since Canada is inherently composed of individuals with differing interests and values. Through a
decentralized framework, each province will be able to implement efficient health services that will
meet the demands of its citizens. Their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The political elites also acknowledged that it would be in their best interests to respond to group
demands. Barker s second contention states that provinces can provide the best quality health care
according to their demographics and socioeconomic factors. For example, Saskatchewan primarily
utilizes its federal grants for a community based approach of providing health care such rehabilitation
services while Ontario primarily invests in effective hospital care. Through a pluralist approach,
Barker argues that various interest groups exist that want to play a role in the decision making of
national programs to meet their own needs and therefore diversities can be best accommodated when
provinces lead social programs.
However, an institutionalist approach can critique the pluralist contentions made by Barker. Regarding
his legal contention, it can be argued that the distribution of power on health care depicted in the
constitution is outdated since there were vast divisions between English and French physicians as well
as differing health and religious practices during the 1800s. Due to the divisions, it was resolved that
the provinces would administer public policies regarding

Creating The Motive For Ideas And Innovation Essay
Topic A: Creating the motive for ideas and innovation
Cognitive diversity is a key point which plays a vital role to achieve motivation for innovation in
companies. HR department should hire a new employee based on needs related to cognitive diversity;
thus, it is highly important to have methods in order to recognise applicants cognitive and categorise
them according to their cognitive. For example, companies can consider these categories:
1. Thinkers: This group try to make conceptual things, and it needs a leader who has powerful
imagination and vision. The leader should encourage the team to provide new techniques for
innovation. Therefore, ideas should not be static and the team should have time to experience part of
their ideas.
2. Builders: This group, do new ideas practical. The leader of this team with their team tries to find the
best instructions and guidelines to achieve small win innovations in order to create guidelines to elicit
new and clear ways for employees to contribute small win innovations.
3. Analytical: The members and leader of this group have a logical attitude about new ideas to have
clear analysis and investigate necessary changes to improve new ideas. In addition, they find how
small innovations can provide a chance to gain big wins.
4. Producer: The Final group is producer which makes opportunity for a company to execute the
innovation. The leader of this group should encourage members to have customer oriented view and

Chris Mccandless Analysis
Chris Mccandless was a man that many would call crazy or maybe even immoral. He left everything
to live in the wild and become one with nature . He had determination, a strong mindset, fearlessness
and courage. I believe that my life and the life of Chris Mccandless are not similar in any aspect. In
fact I wish that my life was more like his and that I had the drive and determination to do what he did.
Christopher Mccandless left everything he had to follow his dream. Honestly though what strikes me
as the most important thing he did was his strive for independence. Chris wanted to be free of his
family, his education, and free of his past life. What he did that makes me wish I could be more like
him though was his courage to not only attempt to be independent but his stubbornness to see it
through. When he decided he wanted to do something it wasn t a question of how should I do this or
should I do this, It was what can I do to make this happen now? Instead of keeping his money and his
name, he donned a new name and burned his money. Many would call this immoral and stupid, but in
actuality it was just a step in the process of becoming a new person and shedding all the layers of his
past life.
When Chris left he didn t tell anyone where he was going and he didn t keep any ties with his family.
What I m trying to say here is that not only do I admire him for his determination and stubborness of
will, I understand why he did what he did. Chris had recently found out about

The Link Between Market Baseline And The Public Objectives
3.2 The link between the market baseline and the public objectives In some situations, countries often
provided a loan to specific enterprises or made some advantageous policies in order to achieve public
goals. Hence, some people questioned whether the public objectives should be taken into
consideration when the benefit analysis is operated. This question has raised great controversy. Some
people think that the determination of subsidies and the public objectives are two different matters,
while others argue that the public objectives should be taken into account. They further declared that
the government, which pursues public goals should be tested by public investor standard, rather than
the private investor standard. From the perspective of the author, the public objectives should not be
taken into account when the advantage analysis in the subsidy law is operated. A typical case which
was not officially confirmed could provide us some inspirations.
3.21 The case US Lead and BismuthⅠin the context of GATT The case US Lead and

correct, since the test did not take the government s investment objectives into consideration. In

The Renaissance And Elizabethan Era
The Renaissance and Elizabethan era were vital times in the rebirth of the lost art form of Greek and
Roman times: Acting/Playwriting. During the Elizabethan era, playhouses formed to fill the void.
There was four main theaters during that time, but one shined brighter than the rest. That one was
known as the Globe theater. As many others were built, the Globe Theater was built on the south bank
of the River Thames. It was erected around 1599 and was created for Lord Chamberlin s men, who
bought and owned the theater until they moved it across the river. With the creation of this theater, a
golden era was about to dawn. Although it was not the first of its kind, the Globe Theater is the most

playwright of all time. Shakespeare is likely responsible for the creation of over three dozen plays, in
which most are world renowned. Most plays were written and performed at the Globe Theater;,
Shakespeare was one of the most popular playwrights of this time and often if you were going to go
see a play performed it was most likely written by him (Thomas). The Globe Theater was a breeding
ground, for the most part, his own work. The Theater was built for The Chamberlain s Men, and since
Shakespeare was a part of it, it was common knowledge that his plays were being performed. Though
his stardom went far beyond just being performed at the Globe Theater. His plays were powerful in
that they expanded the horizons of the English right on the cusp of colonization, Shakespeare s mind
roamed free: into the temples of lost civilisations and onto dusty ancient battlefields; up to the
ramparts of Danish castles and Scottish hill forts; across swaths of the eastern Mediterranean and
down through the Levant into Turkey and Egypt. He had a fascination with Italy, especially the

Once in the plains of northern Montana, there was a Blackfoot tribe, who lived separated from nature,

How Gender Roles Have Played A Big Part Of The History Essay
Gender roles have played a big part of the history of this country and in this new day and age are
becoming more progressive. Women in men gender roles are not at all such a horrendous idea. In
some cases, jobs traditionally performed by men, were done better by female employees but some
some careers are specifically meant for men. Women should not take part in military combat or any
career that carries the same physical demands. Here are two examples accompanied by arguments an

In this film a team of astronauts is forced to make a decision that leaves one of their own behind.

Wireless Sensor Networks And Technology Constraints
Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) present universally and growing rapidly due to its unique features,
such as their less weight, cheap, and wireless nature. However, due to its highly constrained
computational and energy resources this network is exposed to numerous attacks that affect its
security. So, it is important to address these security issues from the beginning of the system design.
but, due to inherent resource and computing constraints, security in sensor networks poses diverse
challenges than traditional network security so, designing security protocols for all layers in this kind
of a network becomes an compelling need. In this paper, we studied several existing WSN security

In 1998, under Margaret Thatcher s government, the Education Reform Act was put into place. This
brought into play compulsory tests for our 7, 11 and 14 year olds. In Scotland, Wales and Northern
Ireland however, SATs for 7 year olds have been abolished, the government has realised children at 7
were much too young to be put under the pressure of tests. When children reach 11 they sit their year 6
SAT s and these results are used in league tables to compare schools. These results can be very
negative for the schools, teachers, and pupils involved. Again this is very different in Scotland, Wales
and Northern Ireland where the year 6 Sat s league tables have been abolished. Why is it that England
is so out of kilter with the rest of the United Kingdom?
In 2003, the QCA asked primary school teachers how long they spent on average each week preparing
children for their year 6 sat s. Shockingly they found that 10 hours a week was spent preparing
children for the end of year SATs and between Christmas and May, schools spend nearly 50% of their
teaching time coaching children. This leaves very little time to teach anything other than the topics
needed to pass the tests. Pupils become very demotivated and stressed with the pressure of failure.

Core Doctrines
God:
Core doctrines are apart of the Christian faith and should be taught no matter what the denomination
is. Doctrines are not negotiable throughout the universal Christian churches. However, churches may
have different dogmatic beliefs, because there are not set in stone and vary. Theology is defined by
Beth Felker Jones as being the study of the things of God, a God who loves the world. Theology is a
practice that affects Christians lives in many ways: the way that they think, live, and how they talk
about God with others. The law of prayer suggests to Christians that they are living a whole life of
discipleship where they should continue to build intimate relationships with God. There are many core

This is the doctrine that states that there is one God that prevails in eternity as three separate parts. The
three specific parts are the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These three parts of God do not have one that
is more important than the other. The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are all God with different roles.
Over time, there have been many heretical views placed on the trinity. Adoptionism means that the
Son and was seen as ordinary and then promoted to son hood. Modalism is the next heresy, which
believe that the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are all three in one, but God wears different masks while
He work all over the Earth. Arianism was the heretical belief that claimed Jesus was created, but not
divine. Nominalism states that only individual things exist. Tri theism is the final heresy that believes
God is three separate beings. Humans have a difficult time trying to understand the trinity or oneness
of God. The trinity teaches the importance of Christian relationships. God wants a relationship with
each and every person and also for us to have relationships with others. Having relationships with God
allows for Christians to see that God is omnipresent, omnipotent, and omniscient. This means that
God will be there at all times during any situations, he will be in complete power, and he will know
about everything that is going on in your life.

Many have big dreams about making big changes in the world. We want to help and we want to

Often dreams stay just as dreams and maybe you even forget them too. You watch TV and suddenly

the STDs. Chlamydia is spread by having vaginal, anal or oral sex with a partner that has been
infected. Not only does in affect the vagina, penis and anus it also can get into your eyes and throat. If

Essay On Misded That Lead To Doom
The Misdeed That Lead to Doom It started as a typical day at Elwood elementary with all the children
outside to play a rapid game of tag before the first call to commence the class. Clarissa and her best
friend Ann rushed inside as soon as the teacher announced, All students report to first block .
Both girls sprinted to obtain seats, since the majority of the class never figured out a specific
arrangement to sit. To prevent another day of arguments with other classmates, Clarissa and Ann
banded together to get seats next to one another. Their plan was successful with both seated in the
front of the class. Clarissa and Ann looked at each other and Clarissa whispered with delight, Ann
looks like our mission was a success. Ann just ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Before the benchmark was to start all students had to place their phones in the box. With that the test
had commenced with all students focused to get this benchmark finished in an efficient speed. After
hours of tedious work through the pages of the test the test administrator paused the time to let
students have a 30 minute break outside of the test room the administrator told students to stay in the
hallway or go to the restroom. Clarissa motioned to Ann to go with her to the restroom once inside she
was ready to tell Ann what she saw. Clarissa stated with excitement, Look Ann they just left the
classes phones in a box in the other room. Ann looks out the restroom window and turn towards the
room across the hall and saw the stacks of phones in the room. Clarissa decided to turn this break into
an adventure and sneak her phone out. Clarissa wanted Ann to join in on what seemed a simple task
with a grand reward. So, Clarissa whispered, Ann lets go and get our phones it will be quick plus I can
show you a picture of my pet iguana. While Ann was worried that both of them would get caught and
receive zeros on the benchmark although she decided it was better to go with Clarissa then stay alone
until the break was over. This was a grave mistake for once they started the walk to the room with
their phones there was an ominous sound and the door abruptly opened. Both girls became wide eyed

The Good Old Days Research Paper
We all have heard the term the good old days but does that actually exist or is that idea more of an
illusion?
Good old days is a relative term, for some the good old days come at a different time or include
different variables. Usually assumed to be seen through a child s eyes where the world seems much
more innocent, life was simple. As we move on as a society the past will always seem easier that the
present because this problems have already been solved.
I ve heard people say that the 1920 s were the good old days in the United States because it was a
prosperous time in the economy, but the 20 s had their own problems. The prohibition was in full
swing during this time an edit caused crime and created a massive underground market

Police Officer Compliance Report
In the course of my career, I have been fortunate to have made few decisions which I truly considered
to be difficult. In each of the cases I have recalled in preparation for this essay, adherence to
department policy or to the law has made the decision a natural one. It is when the decision creates the
potential for disagreement or conflict with a co worker which has proved to make the decision itself
more challenging. In recent positions I held working with, or later for, U.S. Immigration and Customs
Enforcement, I experienced this particular challenge involving one of our office s Detention and
Deportation Officers. Working as a contractor, there was the occasional feeling of the us vs. them
mentality projected by a few of the officers. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He had already heard about the case I was bringing to him. To my discomfort, the alleged affront had
become a topic of office conversation among the officers and command staff. Without hesitation, the
officer responded verbally and in writing the two individuals were clearly not the same. I forwarded
the evaluation of the prints by the second officer to the original officer with my re affirmed conclusion
the two individuals were not the same person. I, again, unlinked the records and performed extensive
data integrity in EARM to prevent the same mistake from occurring in the future.
This experience left a lasting impression on me. I used this experience to improve my procedures for
handling future cases of a similar nature. In the absence of having quality biometrics suitable for
scanning through the Automated Biometric Identification System, or IDENT, I would have a qualified
officer review them in addition to my own review. Additionally, the experience helped to establish my
analytical abilities and credibility with many of the other officers and supervisors in our office. The
officer and I were able to maintain an amicable working relationship for the duration of my
employment, and recently have become more socially acquainted in activities outside of work. While
the experience, at the time, was both challenging and frustrating, I feel I was able to grow
professionally as a

Rumble Fish By Francis Ford Coppola
Rumble Fish
The novel based American drama movie Rumble Fish was directed by Francis Ford Coppola in 1983
the author of the novel S.E. Hinton also co wrote the screen play. The cinematographer is Stephen
Burum, the music is by Stewart Copeland, and the editor is Barry Malkin and the. Zoetrope Studios
produced the movie with a 10 million dollar budget (Clarke).
The plot is primarily about the struggles of the main two characters, Rusty James (Matt Dillon) and
his older brother the Motorcycle Boy (Mickey Rourke). The film shows their journey of self discovery
fueled by the desire to break away from the toxic environment, and end the constant internal conflict
they experience. I think Coppola s unique approach to film was able to deliver certain themes in the
audience in a way the novel alone couldn t. However, the no movie is completely free from external
inspirations and I was able to draw parallels between some of the movie s major themes to earlier
movies and detect traces of the French new wave. Another movie influence is the Cabinet of Calgary
German expressionist and film noir are the main significant inspirations on the cinematographic style
of Rumble Fish. Traces of those genres can be detected in the film s storyline, mise en scene,
cinematography, and sound.
Like in any well produced film, Coppola began the creative process by first studying the novel and
script, then discussing it with the author to determine which key elements must be transferred visually

  • 2. 1984 George Orwell Essay Psychological manipulation is a social influence that aims to change the perception or behavior of others through deceptive or even abusive tactics. Physical control is physically doing an action yourself. In nineteen eighty four orwell created a totalitarian universe with its own history and inner mechanism. George Orwell s novel is focused against fascism. Psychological control is a major theme throughout 1984 and Orwell shows this theme is possible by giving examples of how a totalitarian government could gain psychological control using their power to control history and technology. George Orwell wrote 1984 as a warning to people of what might come in the future if people were not careful about our government. During the time Orwell ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Telescreens with hidden microphones are placed throughout the city to watch the citizens every action. There were even telescreens in every citizen s room that ran Big Brothers picture. It was one of those pictures which are so contrived that the eyes follow you about when you move. BIG BROTHER IS WATCHING YOU, the caption beneath it ran. (Orwell 5). People were constantly being watched and controlled by the party. This general psychological control is the second frightening theme in 1984. Another example uses children. Beginning at an early age, children were brainwashed and encouraged to spy on their parents by an organization called the Junior Spies. This organization destroyed family structure by having children report any instance of disloyalty to the Party. The telescrenes and children are a perfect example to how the totalitarian government abuses technology for its own purpose instead of using their knowledge to improve civilization. Just like the telescrenes, the theme of psychological control is scattered throughout Orwell s 1984. Those who control the past, control the future: who controls the present controls the past , by understanding this and a totalitarian government, we can see that with manipulation of history, such as rewriting it and deleting personal photos, and the use of technology like cameras and microphones, psychological control of people is easier than it ... • 3. How Does Donahue Present Depression In Rabbit Run Rabbit Runs Away from Depression Depression has the ability to control one s behavior. In Rabbit Run, John Updike uses Janice and Rabbit to portray depression s manipulative way of destroying a person. Through many articles, it is explained how the effects of depression cause a downwards spiral of self destruction. Many authors have explored the effects of depression and linked it alcohol abuse as well. This can be easily compared to Janice s alcohol consumption throughout the book and how it lead her to her downfall and eventual murder of her daughter as well as Rabbit s indecisive mind. As Rabbit runs from Janice in an attempt to chase his youth, he is just as numb as his wife. Janice drinks her pain away. However, this does not only affect Janice, but her whole family. Her kids are dragged into this situation as well. As one character struggles through depression and all that results from it, the rest of her family is dragged through it with her. Depression is not only a mental illness that disables one s ability to think and act freely, but it can actually mold someone into a different person while taking over his or her entire life. It is explained through a criticism by Peter Donahue that [the character s] drunkenness bolsters his preoccupation with his own perception of events and seemingly removes him from any consequences for his actions (Donahue) similarly to Janice. The author also states how Richard knew though his mind was deeply cushioned and cottony and difference that an event has occurred which in another sobriety he would regret his intoxication but for him not only from an emotional response to the accident from the physical pain of it as well which like Rabbit feels as he runs away from his situation. Just as when one goes to buy a car they focus on the outside features instead of what is under the hood and how it works. Just as a car has an engine and other features working the car, the brain has different functions that control not only your movements, but also the way that you perceive the world. With the brain only weighing around three pounds it is known to be the best computer system there is. The brain has to communicate with the senses and muscles in the body and it does that through neurons. The neuron transmits the information to different parts of the body and is considered a building block of the brain. Neurons make up the nervous system which performs ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The peripehal nervous system is broken into two brances which include the somatic nervous system and the autonomic nervous system. The somatic nervous system transmits the messages between the central nervous system and your sensory organs. It regulates movement, posture and balance. It contains your sensory and motor neurons. Once messages are transmitted through sensory neurons our brain can interpret the picture you are seeing in front you you, the food you are tastign and even a hot flame touching your finger tip. Once the message gets to the CNS it sends messages back through the motor neuron that controls movements. It has voluntary control. For example, if you touch a flame, the sensory neuron from your finger tip will send the message that it is hot and your brain will deliever a message back to move your finger. It happens almost instantly. The other branch which is the autonomic nervous system controls the internal body processes. You body does these things automaticallt without having to think about it. Loss of Rights: Rhetorical Strategies in Groskopf s The digital age has destroyed the concept of ownership, and companies are taking advantage of it The digital age is changing our rights on the subject of ownership: less and less people know whether they can copy, sell or even lend their digital goods. An author named, Christopher Groskopf, wrote The digital age has destroyed the concept of ownership, and companies are taking advantage of it, published in 2016 in the Quartz, and he argues that intuition has fallen apart when talking about ownership of digital goods and that companies use their fine prints to take benefit from this. Groskopf uses a survey, reputable sources, facts and statistics in order to appeal to similar feelings and experiences in her adult readers; however, toward the end of the article, he weakens his argument by contradicting himself. In his article, Groskopf first sets the stage by letting the reader take a survey to let them see if they know the type of ownership a reader would have over an example of a digital book. His survey then outlines the uneven distribution of answers given showing that most of his readers are wrong about digital ownership rights. Groskopf continues by stating that most of the rights are outlined in the Terms of Service (TOS) of the selling company, a statistic from a reputable source showing that the majority of buyer s do not read the TOS and some examples demonstrating how companies can take advantage of this ... • 6. A Domestic Dilemma Character Analysis Carson McCullers usage of literary elements, including setting, character, and conflict, contributes to the overall development of the theme of patience that is present throughout the book. Martin Meadows, the protagonist in the story, is portrayed as a hardworking and persevering man with a great amount of love for his family; the story recounts a day when Martin arrives home from work to a mentally absent wife who is supposed to be taking care of the children. McCullers grants Martin Meadows the gift of patience in order to cope with the conflict and his drunk wife. Without the usage of these details and elements, the ideas presented in the story would not have been as powerful. A Domestic Dilemma is a story that is remembered and the purpose is made clear through McCullers usage of setting, description of character and development of conflict. The changing setting helps articulate a message of patience and perseverance, especially when describing how the setting affects the characters of Martin and Emily. Both Martin and Emily find themselves going through a similar adjustment, but they have different ways of coping with the change. Martin has to relocate his family due to changing circumstances in his job, and he doesn t realize until after his company transfers him to New York that his wife is suffering. Advantages Of Robots In Medicine Robotics in medicine Faculty of General Medicine Group4 Introduction Robots these days are developing in all of the fields, and in less than 15 years this development became faster. In medicine robots are manly used in surgeries for its many advantages, but it differs from the other fields that until now robots did not take the doctors place, so robotics in medicine are used to just help in the surgeries. In this assay i am going to write about robots in medicine, to see if they are helpful in medicine or not by comparing their advantages to their disadvantages, and by looking at the fields that they are already using robots, and finally I will list some examples and focus on two to know more about how it works. Medical application the most importing and spread application is in robotic surgeries, it is a method so doctors can do small and precise surgeries that are hard to be done by them, or even impossible. So, what are the key areas separating bosses from leaders? The focus When it comes to an organisation, the key consideration is often the focus of the organisation. What is it for and why? The underlying focus is what drives an organisation, but also the individual to perform the required tasks. The focus gives direction and largely determines the approach to work. THE END OF HISTORY AND THE LAST MAN ignores the confusing events and details of most history and is more philosophical, even teleological, in its orientation. Through a pluralist approach, Barker argues that various interest groups exist that want to play a role in the decision making of national programs to meet their own needs and therefore diversities can be best accommodated when provinces lead social programs. Women in men gender roles are not at all such a horrendous idea. In some cases, jobs traditionally performed by men, were done better by female employees but some some careers are specifically meant for men. Women should not take part in military combat or any career that carries the same physical demands. Here are two examples accompanied by arguments an evidence that argue the above statement. Wireless Sensor Networks And Technology Constraints Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) present universally and growing rapidly due to its unique features, such as their less weight, cheap, and wireless nature. However, due to its highly constrained computational and energy resources this network is exposed to numerous attacks that affect its security. So, it is important to address these security issues from the beginning of the system design. but, due to inherent resource and computing constraints, security in sensor networks poses diverse challenges than traditional network security so, designing security protocols for all layers in this kind of a network becomes an compelling need. In this paper, we studied several existing WSN security protocols and data link layer security algorithms, which ensures a safe communication link between neighboring nodes by supervising the medium access and handling the errors. The purpose of this paper is Not Only Studying and explaining the strength and limitations of the existing energy efficient security protocols of the data link layer but also and determine the crucial security requirements which should be taken into consideration for design of future of data link security protocols. I.INTRODUCTION Sensor network got tremendous focus due to its less cost and small size and which can be placed anywhere. This brought into play compulsory tests for our 7, 11 and 14 year olds. In Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland however, SATs for 7 year olds have been abolished, the government has realised children at 7 were much too young to be put under the pressure of tests. When children reach 11 they sit their year 6 SAT s and these results are used in league tables to compare schools. These results can be very negative for the schools, teachers, and pupils involved. Again this is very different in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland where the year 6 Sat s league tables have been abolished. Why is it that England is so out of kilter with the rest of the United Kingdom? In 2003, the QCA asked primary school teachers how long they spent on average each week preparing children for their year 6 sat s. Shockingly they found that 10 hours a week was spent preparing children for the end of year SATs and between Christmas and May, schools spend nearly 50% of their teaching time coaching children. This leaves very little time to teach anything other than the topics needed to pass the tests. Pupils become very demotivated and stressed with the pressure of failure. This was shown quite movingly when the BBC Panorama team interviewed a year 6 student, the 11 year old told interviewers: I m really scared about my SATs, the head teacher came and talked to us about our ... Theology is a practice that affects Christians lives in many ways: the way that they think, live, and how they talk about God with others. This is the doctrine that states that there is one God that prevails in eternity as three separate parts. The three specific parts are the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These three parts of God do not have one that is more important than the other. The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are all God with different roles. Over time, there have been many heretical views placed on the trinity. Adoptionism means that the Son and was seen as ordinary and then promoted to son hood. Modalism is the next heresy, which believe that the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are all three in one, but God wears different masks while He work all over the Earth. Arianism was the heretical belief that claimed Jesus was created, but not divine. Nominalism states that only individual things exist. Tri theism is the final heresy that believes God is three separate beings. Humans have a difficult time trying to understand the trinity or oneness of God. The trinity teaches the importance of Christian relationships. God wants a relationship with each and every person and also for us to have relationships with others. Having relationships with God allows for Christians to see that God is omnipresent, omnipotent, and omniscient. This means that God will be there at all times during any situations, he will be in complete power, and he will know about everything that is going on in your life.
