study its decisions based theory and non theory terms. 6. The limitation set by this article is that it
concentrate mostly on the political aspect of the EU and in relation to policy making and does not
explain theory in relation to other sectors like economy and defense. 7. In conclusion, it explains
how EU is abandoning the old school theories of institutionalism in favor of a more generic model
and believes this can be done in the EU as its institutionalized system provides fertile ground for
development. 8. This article is not a foundation of my research but a rather important ideology in
understanding EU institutions and actors.

As the world economy is becoming more and more international, it has now become essential to
know how to interact with people coming from some other countries. Nowadays most of growing
companies are treating with partners abroad but some of them are facing communication problems.
Cross cultural communication consist in a field of study that looks at how people from different

to solve these issues and finally see how a multicultural team can becomes a gain when it is well
managed.

Communicating with people from different cultures, having different norms and habits is difficulty
that everybody has to face. We all have been educated in different places and had different
influences that made of us the persons we are today. This different experiences we had gave us
various references and codes. All these different codes leads to misunderstanding.

5. Neuromancer a Book Written by William Gibson
Neuromancer
The book Neuromancer was written in 1984 and it has blown away the thought barriers with the
author s technology implementation. It was written by a well known author that goes by the name
of William Gibson. In the book we find ourselves in a futuristic Japan where arcades, hacking,
drugs, sex, violence, splicing, and technology has taken over. This is not the Japan we know today,
or is it?
In today s world Japan is very much up there with technology. The way the author describes
technology is very plausible when comparing to recent times. With his words he is able to
manipulate our minds into thinking that this is actually can happen. Starting off with RAM
(Random Access Memory) which is used today in every computer. Case the main character tries to
sell three megabytes of RAM which is a hefty amount of memory. The author also talks about other
components that can be found in a computer such as a HDD (hard disk drive), and how they work
together with RAM. Gibson pushes the boundary when talking about splicing or how people can
get into other people s minds, and actually feeling their pain. Other technology such as extended
nail blades that Molly has is also hard to grasp. Questions such as How long are they? or How
can those fingers actually hold a blade since they have joints? cross our minds. These are just two
types of technologies out of many that are mentioned in the book, and that can be questioned as
well. This does not mean it is

6. Summary Of The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe
A society s myths and legends are much more than stories. They represent the values, fears, hopes,
and rules at the core of that culture. Due to the significance and complexity of morality and
societal expectations, these lessons of life are taught to children in the form of symbolic stories
much like fairytales. In his book The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, C.S. Lewis manages to
encompass the incredibly complex concepts of the Christian ideology, such as sin and redemption
into a fairytale like story. Using symbols and metaphor, Lewis creates the fantastic world of Narnia
with just enough parallels that his young audience is able to appreciate the Atonement and nature
of Christ in a format they understand.
In the Mormon church, the Spirit is often described as a burning in one s bosom (D C 9:8).
Burning does not sound very pleasant, it is reminiscent of the symptoms of a heart attack. Lewis
compares these feelings of the Spirit to something from a child s experience. When the Pevensies
hear about Aslan, they felt as if it had come from a dream with enormous meaning, simultaneously
terrifying and too lovely to put into words...so beautiful that you remember it all your life (68).
Good and bad dreams are something that kids have experience with. Because Edmund was
poisoned by sin, the mention of Aslan gave him a sensation of mysterious horror rather than a good
feeling (68). This explains the feelings of guilt one feels after doing something wrong, especially in

9. The New York Times By Nadine Unger
In The New York Times, Nadine Unger argues against the common belief of planting trees in her
article, To Save the Planet, Don t Plant Trees, which was submitted online on September 19, 2014.
She wrote this article due to the United Nations(UN) Climate Summit, which took place on
September 23, 2014 in New York. The UN Climate Summit was a meeting to discuss climate
change, where the UN Secretary General Ban Ki moon invited leaders of governments, the private
sector, and civil society to unite towards a low carbon world. Unger mentions that they are likely to
promote reducing deforestation and planting trees as they address the rising rate of carbon
emissions (par. 1). She argues against the popular belief of how trees affect climate change and
global warming. Her audience consists of Americans, tax payers, and those affected by global
warming and climate change, arguing that planting trees while avoiding deforestation is a bad
gamble on the earth s environment. Unger effectively argues that there are unknown effects of
planting trees and implores her audience to intervene in the political situation through the use of
statistics, scientific diction, and human emotion. Global warming has become such a politically hot
topic. Unger mentions that the UN has met to discuss the issues and needed solutions pertaining to
carbon emissions, believing that they will continue the cycle with planting trees and avoiding
deforestation. She informs her audience about how planting

10. Analysis Of George Berkeley s Dialogues
Christopher Podlaski In George Berkeley s Dialogues, he presents and subsequently dismantles
several of his predecessors ideas through the use of two characters, Hylas and Philonous. His
main goal in this project is to refute the flawed concept of reality that something unperceived and
unperceiving could exist (Atherton). However, in attempting to argue for this, particularly when
arguing against John Locke s distinction between primary and secondary qualities, he sets his
opposition up as a dummy argument and therefore commits a logical fallacy. Berkeley does not
understand Locke s view and therefore incorrectly bases it on the ordinary experience of large
objects that are perceivable to the naked eye. In his attempt to show that the perception of
primary qualities are also subject to relativity like secondary qualities, Berkeley misinterprets
Locke s arguments to have a different foundation than they do. He is therefore inaccurate in his
method of refuting Locke s distinction (Atherton). One might claim that disproving Locke s
primary secondary quality distinction is not necessary to Berkeley s goal, which is refuting
previous philosophies of reality. However, he spends a considerable amount of time on the
concern that Locke s primary qualities are also subject to the relativity of experience and the
inconsistencies of perception, as secondary qualities are. This, in its self, refutes such a claim. In
Locke s work, he submits that the physical world is made up of

11. History in the Staples Approach Essay
One of Canada s contributions to the history of ideas has been a kind of historical economics. Now
a neglected artifact within the history of economic thought, as economics has moved on to non
historical, modeling approaches to understanding, the staples approach can serve to show how
economics can be enriched by a historical dimension.
What is the staples approach and what makes it especially suitable to an investigation of how
history informs economic understanding? The staple theory has been Canada s original
contribution to the world of economic ideas (along with the notion of effective protection devised
by Clarence Barber of the University of
Manitoba3). The observations of Harold Innis, and others, in the 1930s led to an ... Show more

Since The Wealth of Nations in 1776 economists had moved away from a study of what induces
economic development to a study of the allocation of resources . One of the virtues of the staples
thesis was its rounded approach to both development and efficient allocation. In the language of
Thomas Kuhn (1962) this was a paradigm, reflecting a world view.
In Innis s staples approach considerable attention is directed towards the physical characteristics of
the particular staple product under consideration. One of his most important works, The Fur Trade
in Canada, has as its first chapter a short description of the beaver and its typical locale,
commencing with this passage:

12. Search Warrant Essay
Some information that we found was that if the police suspects that home holds marijuana, then
they must first get hold of a search warrant under the Fourth Amendment, if not then the police
officers must prove exigent circumstances such as destruction of evidence, hot pursuit, or some
other exception that applies. But the number one guaranteed way for this to go smoothly is to get a
search warrant by a judge. With that being said the policeofficers could demand and require what
they need from and what they can get from the search warrant. But in order to get a search warrant,
the police officers must provide that they have probable cause that there is marijuana in the house.

Some interesting facts that I have found was when current technology has given police officers
a new way on searching humans, buildings, homes and even vehicles. Now marijuana is
generally cultivated with a lot of high intensity lamps; the police officers can now conduct an
infrared scan that creates thermal images of the outside of the homes. With that being said they
can measure the heat originating from the inside of the house. An example of this new
technology would be the case of Kyllo v. United States, 533 U.S. 27 (2001), basically saying that
the police collected info from the ultraviolet scan was used and can be used with other evidence
to create probable cause for a search warrant. Within the case of Kyllo, the proof that was acquired
from the search warrant was in fact used against Kyllo at his trial for developing marijuana and the
court of appeals confirmed the verdict but the Supreme Court of the United States revered the

her calf was red. Her doctor had treated it with intravenous fluids, a tetanus shot, and a prescription

along with the redness now reaching a portion of her thigh. Dr. Gawande began the exam by

14. Star Life Cycle Essay
The first stage in the life cycle of a star is the Nebula. A Nebula is a swirling sea of dust and gas
but, it is not a star yet. Over time, the dust and gas will collect into a ball that sweeps through the
Nebula. The ball of gas and dust then begins to grow.
The Nebula becomes a Protostar, the second stage of a star s life cycle, once the ball of gas and
dust starts to shrink because of it s own mass and gravity. The Protostar is still not a star yet. At
this stage it can be up to 100x larger than our Sun! The Protostar will keep shrinking and start to
heat up, until it becomes roughly the size of our Sun.
The Protostar becomes an Infrared once it reaches this size of our Sun. The Infrared is still not a

This is the fourth stage of a star s life cycle. The Star diameter will be about 700,000 km. An
average star will live for about 10 billion years in this stage. Our Sun is only about 5 billion years
old. After the Infrared becomes a Star, it will continue to burn changing more of its Hydrogen into
Helium. Eventually the Hydrogen begins to run out, until the Star becomes a Red Giant.
The Red Giant is stage five of a star s life cycle and this fiery ball of nuclear fusion is about
50,000,000 km in diameter! The inner core of the Red Giant begins to shrink, and get hotter.
Then, the outer layers begin to separate from the inner layers and the Red Giant becomes larger in
size. Over time it could completely lose it s outer layer and start to shrink again.
The second to last stage could result in the Red Giant shrinking until it becomes a White Dwarf or
the Red Giant continuing to shrink until it explodes. If the outcome is a White Dwarf, it would
create a small, hot, hard to see star that is smaller than the Earth. If the outcome is an explosion, it
would result in the remnants of the core and a Nova or Supernova, which is a mass spitting off
dust and gases that would start the entire star life cycle over

Her connection with wild nature (both the real, uncultivated nature and the man s sphere in
society without protection), which is a major and substantial characteristic of Diana that shows
her mystical power, is shown in the story by the impressions she left on Archer. He thought that
at a unpruned garden, the tumbledown house, and the oak grove under which the dusk was
gathering seems to be so exactly the place in which he ought to have found Madame Olenska
(103). When he founds her alone in the publicity, he asked her But what on earth are you doing
in this wilderness (105)? Archer s mentioning of the oak grove is another specific clue that leads
to the identity of Diana, as she is actually queen of the woods in general and also goddess of the
oaks in particular (Frazer, II, 380). Ellen s first name as the shortened version of Helen might
also be an allusion to Diana, who is also known as Helen of the Tree (Frazer, V, 292). Besides,
working in concert with May s marriage with Archer around Easter, the mutual confession of
Countess Olenska and Archer takes place in middle of August, when Diana s own day is
celebrated (Frazer, I, 12 14) (Scheick, 3). Moreover, the term flower of life with a little bit of
ambiguity and inexplicability kind of resembles the term heart of life she used in her previous
work, which refers to Diana and thus readers could suggest that the

18. The War Of 1812 And Its Effect On Foreign Relations
After the American Revolutionary War was declared in 1775, the newly founded United States
did not declare war again until the War of 1812. Britain did not respect the neutrality policy of the
U.S. during the Napoleonic Wars in Europe. The British started to impress U.S. sailors into the
British navy, leading to the declaration of war against Britain. The Treaty of Ghent was signed to
conclude the war and to restore prewar boundaries. However, this fairly small war had immense
consequences. Some consequences had an influence on foreign relations, American fishing rights,
the development of the Rush Bagot agreement, as well as the evolvement of the Monroe Doctrine.
In addition, all of these outcomes allowed for an increase in domestic manufacturing and trade. The
morale of the country was also boosted as a result of the war, affecting both foreign relations and
American industry, because the citizens of the United Statesdeveloped new ideas about trading with
other countries and advancing in the manufacture of products within the country.
After the War of 1812, the United States faced many economic problems. The U.S. came up
against foreign competition, especially from Britain. British goods were not sold in the United
States after the Embargo Act of the early 1800s. At the end of the War of 1812, products from
Britain came back into the United States. Britain was already an industrialized country. It made and

20. Ethics At A Young Age
When I think of Ethics, I think of trying to distinguish right from wrong, good from bad, and
morally doing the right thing when it comes to making decisions. Ethics occurs throughout all
different parts of our everyday lives. We begin to learn ethics at a young age and continue to learn
it as we get older, according to our jobs, or our places in life. For instance, we learned that it is
wrong to take someone s toy away, or to hurt someone when we were younger. However, once
we became older, we learned it is bad to distort information to make oneself look good. For
example, in concept analysis 4 3, Brown wants to raise the depreciation expense of the company s
machines so when they are sold at a loss the company does not look bad (Kieso,... Show more

Those are things we do not do. People also tend to think of virtues such as honesty and loyalty as
good ethical standards (What is Ethics). Although there is a slight distinction between what is
ethical and what is not, there is a not a written rule book on ethics. Ethics is important in the
Accounting Profession just as much as it is important in any other profession. When in the
accounting profession, we will be faced with decisions on a daily basis that we will have to
decide if they are ethical or not. For instance, one CEO, Kenseth, is nervous about large
stockholders who have been vocal about her lately and she considers buying them out by
purchasing their shares, so she can eliminate the competition and maintain her leadership as CEO
(Kieso, Weygandt, Warfield, Pg. 871). She has to decide if she should buy them out or not. If she
bought them out, that would be unethical because she is using inside information and her
authority to benefit herself. She should keep in mind what is good for the company as a whole,
and not just what is good for herself. Additionally, depending on the company, the more particular

ABSTRACT
The bacterial spirochete Borrelia burgdorferi is the causative agent of the most commonly reported
arthropod borne illness in the United States, Lyme disease. Select proteins produced by B.
burgdorferi contain the von Willebrand Factor A (VWFA) domain, which is responsible for cell
adhesion via interaction with the extracelluar matrix (ECM), glycoproteins, and metalloproteases.
Such interactions are often an integral part of the infection process and may be especially important
for B. burgdorferi, which relies on environmental changes in both the vector and host to colonize,
transmit, and infect. BB0173, a VWFA domain containing protein, has been evaluated based on
topology and adherence to human ECM proteins and integrins, to evaluate its role during the
infection process. The confirmation of protein localization was performed by cloning the each of
the three BB0173 transmembrane domains upstream of the luminal P2 domain of the integral
membrane protein leader peptidase found in Escherichia coli. Gene expression was investigated via
immunoblot assays using lysates from B.

23. Essay on Voodoo Religion
Voodoo Religion The Voodoo religion is one of the most, if not the most misconceived religions
of our time. Often when Voodoo is mentioned, it is related to evil, black magic, devious sorcery,
cannibalism, and harm. Although the Voodoo religion appears to the outsider as an illusion or
falsehood, it has been an instrumental political force because it has helped the Haitians resist
domination and form an identity of their own. Since the end of the 17th century, Haitian Voodoo
has overcome every challenge it has been faced with and has endured. The religion is based on a
polytheistic belief system and represents a significant portion of Haiti s 8.3 million people. The

Voodoo remains adaptable as it has been throughout history, it is constantly changing to adapt to
new situations that Haiti is faced with everyday. After Haiti gained its independence it was ruled
by one dictator after another. From 1860 until the present day, Haitian politics were never stable.
During this period Haiti had thirty five presidents, only five of them completed their terms.
Through all of Haiti s political failure Voodoo has helped to resist domination, fight
fragmentation of identity, with which the Haitians were constantly threatened, and avoid
catholic conversion. Many of today s religions share strict beliefs that are found only within
their own religion, they restrict the possibility to believe anything other that what the religion
tells its followers to believe, in Voodoo you are not a follower. Voodoo is a religion influenced
by many other religions; it allows its followers to feel free. When Voodoo worshipers left Africa
and reached the far away island of Haiti, the Voodoo religion changed. Catholicism of the slave
owners, and various alternative religions from native islanders, influenced Voodoo. Voodoo easily
incorporated these other religions because of its welcoming nature. Voodoo was appealing,
especially to the slaves and poor members of a community. Because it was so inviting, it became a
way for people with troubles and turmoil to unite. The slaves united through Voodoo to throw off
white rule. It was the first successful slave

Social structure is the way society is organized into predictable relationships. There are five
elements when you break down social structure. The first being status. We usually associate
having a status to the amount of influence, wealth and fame. But sociologists use the term status
to refer to any of the full range of socially defined positions within a large group or society, from
the lowest to the highest. Examples of this are being a son or daughter, dental technician or the
president of the United States. Sociologists also see some status to be achieved or ascribed and an
ascribed status is when a person is assigned to it by society without regard for the person s unique

preindustrial development is the agrarian society. They primarily engage in the production of food.
Technology seems to grow but is still quite basic. A industrial society is a society that depends on
mechanization to produce its goods and services. THey rely on new inventions that facilitate
agricultural and industrial production, and on new sources of energy, such as steam. The
postindustrial society is an economic system that engages primarily in the processing and control of

Authors have very versatile writing styles that contribute to getting their messages and themes

in high schools, as well as in people s free time to try and expand their minds and change their
perspectives on life. Steinbeck has a very descriptive writing style that helps make his books
classic novels worth reading.
Steinbeck is a writer that does a great job of not just blatantly telling the reader what he wants
them to know, but making comparisons and inferences that get the reader to think and develop
their own opinions, which is he ultimate goal of the author. I read East of Eden this past summer.
In East of Eden, Steinbeck paints the picture of two families, the Hamilton s and the Trask s, and
he describes their lives and how they end up eventually meeting and co existing in the Salinas
Valley in California. East of Eden has many parallels with the story of Adam and Eve s sons, Cain
and Abel. This is an example of Steinbeck using parallels and comparisons of real life occurences to
help illustrate his story and message. But the two books I d like to focus on in this paper are Of

Abstract Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) introduce a new way to interact with the physical
environment. The security in WSNs became an attractive area of research. WSNs are susceptible to
a wide range of malicious attacks. At present ECC is considered for secure communications, which
is having good potential for WSN security due to its smaller key size and its high strength of
security. Unfortunately, the execution time of ECC is more which is not suitable for more number
of applications. A number of other security mechanisms have been proposed for sensor networks to
provide data confidentiality, namely Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) and Data Encryption
Standard (DES). In this paper, we propose an algorithm, which is compared and analyzed with the
existing ECC and AES to provide better security with authenticated sensor nodes. The
authentication is done with a secret code. The proposed algorithm will ensure the secure
communication with authenticated devices. The analysis results shows that the scheme works

Could Tablets Replace the Textbook? A large scale and prevalent debate in America s schooling
systems is should textbooks be replaced with laptops or tablets? Tablets should replace textbooks
for many different reasons. Firstly, they are overall more versatile and practical. Second, teachers

Finally, tablets help reduce clutter and extra papers lying around in a student s folder. According to
Leann Widhalm, who has been teaching for 14 years, she believes that tablets do in fact help
students and increase their grades. Especially if the educators know how to use them (ГЃlvarez). As
it has already been stated, tablets are just all around more versatile. It s quicker to update, and
information is far more readily available (ГЃlvarez). In addition, the can hold almost infinite
textbooks in one slim tablet. This means that there won t be as much stress on the students from
lugging a pounds upon pounds of books around, along with not having to stop at their locker for
every class. Teachers can customize student learning using tablets with hundreds of educational
apps designed for iPad and Android devices (Klindt). Yet another issue is that textbooks become
outdated quickly, making the students fall behind in their education. The tablet s aforementioned
ability to get information practically at your every whim allows for teachers to create lesson plans

40. O Town Ice Cream Case Study
O Town Ice Cream was founded three years ago by Chris and Angela George. After Chris lost his
position with a marketing firm and Angela was unable to continue her massage therapist job, the
couple moved from Atlanta to Opelika, Alabama. On Chris 40th birthday, they decided to buy a
ice cream cart and start a business of their own. After much success, the couple wanted to open a
storefront in Opelika because of their love for the town. The main focus behind their ice cream is
that each flavor is named after people and places in Opelika. Chris and Angela had the cart open
for eight months, popping up at different places around the local area. During this time, social

billions in gross sales. In reference to the chart 1 Barbie brought in $1.2753 billion in 2012
compared to $1.2028 billion in 2013. The 12% decrease in Barbie gross sales reflected product
innovation not being strong enough to drive growth, increased competition within the doll category,
along with lower effectiveness of in store, commercial, and promotional activities (Mattel).
In 1998 Mattel acquired the well established company American Girl Dolls. American Girl bucked
retail trends, expanding its brick and mortar footprint while still achieving incredibly high online
sales numbers the highest in the brand s history. New store economics are strong, nearly doubling
the revenue in a given market and bringing in between 50 60% new customers to the brand (Mattel

During the 18th century tin army toys for boys emerged along with miniature kitchen sets for
girls. The toys during the 18th century were very gender based; masculine toys for boys, while the
girls had toys to encourage household duties and nurturing. Peddlers sold these toys to middle class
families. Today, army and kitchen toys are still very prevalent in the market. In 1963, the most

all about Jerusalem and the Holy Land, or Palestine, have a complicated history. The Holy Land
sits at the intersection of three continents, near the birthplace of some of the world s oldest
civilizations. It also borders the Mediterranean Sea, a major artery of conquest and trade. The
region is valued as much for its location as for its religious history. The location itself may have
been reason enough for people to settle there. In turn, those people developed civilizations that gave
rise to the religions that have spent centuries competing for the sacred soil. The three competing
monotheistic faiths Judaism, Christianity, and Islam met in Jerusalem. Despite their common roots,
the differences among the three religions and their peoples often sparked conflict. 2. For centuries,
Christian pilgrims from Europe had been making the long, dangerous journey to the Holy Land.
There, they visited shrines such as the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Under early Islamic empires,
Christians were allowed to make this pilgrimage. Then, in the early 11th century, the Seljuk Turks
conquered the Holy Land. The Seljuk Turks closed the pilgrimage routes and attacked Christian
pilgrims. They also attacked Christian lands held by the Byzantines in Anatolia. 3. It s 1096 and

43. A View From The Bridge Analysis
In the play A View From The Bridge The protagonist Eddie, an Italian immigrant, seems to have
complex relationship with who seems to be his wife s orphaned niece Catherine throughout the
whole play.
At the beginning of Act 1, Catherine and Eddie appeared to have an authoritative father and a
compliant daughter like relationship. Come over here. This command clearly highlights how
demanding and authoritative Eddie is with Catherine. The imperative verb Come illustrates how
Eddie sees himself as the man of the house, therefore he should be in control over everything, and
everything living under his roof should obey and respect him. The adverb here demonstrates that
Eddie expects Catherine to do as she s told, clearly indicating his control and how authoritative he
is over Catherine. What do you want me to do ? This question signifies how Catherine will change
anything just to keep Eddie satisfied even if she disagrees with it. The second personal pronoun you
reflects how important Eddies opinion is to Catherine. How she will yield to every demand
coming out of his mouth as back in the 1950s the man was the on who controls the household and
makes all the decisions, which is one of the reasons why Catherine is so complaint towards him in
their relationship.
Arthur Miller also represented the relationship as an overprotective, jealous relationship at the start.
I m responsible for you. This proclamation clearly displays Eddie s protectiveness over Catherine.

44. Pros And Cons Of Hypnosis
Hypnosis has emerged over the last twenty years as an extremely effective tool to treat
everything from depression and OCD to quitting smoking and improving self confidence. Lack
of self confidence is more often than not something developed during childhood and
adolescence. It is something that quietly and subconsciously informs all of our actions and
perceptions. As such tackling it from a purely conscious or logical standpoint is going to be very
difficult. Those who have tried cognitive behavioural therapy or CBT often admit feeling a bit
disappointed at the treatments ability to tackle these deep, nebulous issues of self worth and self
confidence. This is because they are purely based in the conscious mind. While CBT type
approaches certainly have their place analysing your thoughts and feelings and trying to bring
them into line with reality is always a good idea CBT has become overly popular as a quick fix
solution to a myriad of problems that potentially it just isn t well suited for.
Hypnosis on the other hand, focuses exclusively on the deep subconscious. Most of us are born
with a fairly high level of self confidence we haven t yet begun to consider ourselves stupid or fat
or unlovable. These beliefs, unfortunately, creep in incredibly quickly. Our understanding of
ourselves and our relationship to the world is determined in ... Show more content on

C) First and Second Triumvirates
A Triumvirate is a political alliance involving three rulers, who divide the land and power
among each other. The first Triumvirate involved Pompey; who was a popular general who
crushed the Spanish Revolt. The second was Crassus; he was a wealthy noble with a lot of
ambition and was very ruthless. Crassus owned all the fire stations in Rome, when a person
needed his services he would let the fire burn until he was paid a sum of money to his likings.
Crassus was unsuccessful in his military pursuits. The third was Julius Caesar; he was also a

as the church . Another way that spread Christianity was the practice of Evangelism; created by
Paul, one of Jesus followers, which is spreading the word of God and Jesus teachings. Paul was the
universal voice for Christians. Paul also spread his teachings to Gentiles, who are non Jews. These
strategies helped spread Christianity quickly, and among more groups of people. One of the most
significant events in spreading Christianity was at a Jewish festival in Jerusalem, this event
contained many people from around the world, this was a great opportunity to help spread the word
of Christianity. Christianity struggled for acceptance among the Roman Government. They were
essentially ignored, being barred from offices and politics. By the third century Christianity had

crops that come form this luscious valley. The river has gone through many drastic changes over
its illustrious lifetime. Once it was a magnificent 350 miles long it is now one of the nation s ten
most endangered rivers. The river once flowed with enough water to support steam ships and a
salmon migration it now goes completely dry in some areas. The river does not have enough water

Two of the projected plans include keeping things the way they are and allowing more of the water
in Friant Dam to flow into the river to bring back the former environment that was once there as
well as improve the conditions for west side farmers. The two plans contrast drastically with each
other but both have positive and negative consequences.
If the east side farmers have it there way they will continue to be able to produce crops and
farming on the east side will still be a possibility. The Friant Dam has been irrigating the east side
of the valley since 1944. Over 95% of all water collected at Millerton is used to help agriculture.
It waters one million acres of farmland and because of it in the last 40 years the farming on the
east side has taken over Southern California as the states leader in citrus farming, the value of this
is 2.1 billion and it continues to grow. Although the farmers would prosper the environment would
still suffer and the salmon run of yester year would still be an impossibility. The east side farmers
argue that if there water was taken away only about a quarter of the east side could be farmed
without Millerton. Without Millerton s water the farmers would have had to continue to pump their
water from underground aquifers and if that had happened those aquifers would have gone dry 60
years ago. If the environmentalist and

49. The Dynamic Between Men And Women During The Heian Era
Genji Monogatari, credited to Murasaki Shikibu, defines contemporary aristocratic etiquette and
lifestyles of the Heian era. Of Fujiwara lineage, the clan which organized marriages with the
emperor, renders intimate credibility of court life albeit from eyes of her middle aristocratic origin.
Society s portrayal in this story primarily chronicles the life of Genji, whose rank is in the upper
echelon of nobility, which in the eleventh century numbers about 5,000, and thus explores what is
tolerable and preferential to their cultured tastes. Given that aristocrats were preoccupied with their
upbringing and level in society, they were deeply sensitive to nature s evanescent beauty, the art of
poetry, calligraphy, music, etcetera. Insight unto the dynamic between men and women within this
regal milieu emphasizes status, social and emotional, and value, gauged by capability, amongst both
sexes. The women during the Heian era are customarily confined to study the arts within their home
and seen solely by their father and husband throughout their life. Estranged from view by blinds and
screens their interaction outside of their dwelling is contingent upon further shrouds from lurking
eyes of people. Ox drawn carriages possessing a tiny slit to view the outside world along with their
intermittent pilgrimages to temples and shrines were the typical exposures deemed tolerable.

The global economy and the stages of recovery:
As is known, there has been a decline in global GPD growth rates during the last two years due
to the global financial crisis which began in August 2007; it is considered one of the most
serious crises experienced by the global economy since World War II. According to the latest
update to the World Economic Outlook by the International Monetary Fund (January 26, 2010),
global GDP growth fell from 5% p.a. in 2007 to 3.2% in 2008, dropping to .08% by 2009.

As can be seen in the capital markets indexes, the indicators fell sharply throughout the world
without exception. This decline led to a loss of confidence among investors.
Currently, the capital markets passed their nadir in the beginning of 2009 and the market has started
recovering from all time lows. In addition, investor confidence has improved, while economies
remain weak, although growth is expected. The majority have in fact returned to growth, albeit
only showing a slight rise.

52. A Lifespan Assessment Of An Adolescent Who Is...
This report is a lifespan assessment of an adolescent who is transitioning into a young adult. AO
is a patient who is 19 years of age and was assessed by an Alverno College student nurse who uses
the Gordon s Functional Health Patterns as a guide in gathering subjective information. Since the
patient can fall in one or both age groups of adolescenceand young adulthood, information for both
patterns have been included. Once data is collected, a diagnoses can be determined in any areas of
concern.
Developmental Stage
According to Erikson s stages of development, AO could be categorized into two different stages.
The first stage is identity vs. role confusion, this is where an adolescent is trying to find out who
they are and what their place is in life. If their search turns out to be challenging, it could lead to
a crisis where a person almost has to step backwards, revaluate to be able to move forward again.
AO positively identified with this stage because she is enrolled in college and working hard to be
successful in her classes as a future nurse. AO did not show any signs of current role confusion.
There is no evidence of tattoos or piercings, delinquent behavior or apparent changes in her mental
health status that lead one to believe that a crisis is present (Edelman, Kudzma Mandle, 2014, p.
522).
The second stage is intimacy versus isolation, this is where a young adult would begin to form
relationships with people on a more intimate level.

53. Beethoven And Stravinsky Similarities
Music has been in the world for so long that it has developed over time by composers who make
music and even try their best to change how the world sees music. Three musicians that will be
talked about in this essay are Mozart, Beethoven, and Stravinsky. Each composer s life is different
from the other. Mozart started out as a child prodigy who was able to play instruments at a very
young age. He later started composing musicwhich he manifested in his head. He didn t need any
piano or other instruments because he heard it in his head and just wrote down the music. Sadly,
though, he died as a poor man who left debts, but his music is still known to this day. Unlike

Firstly, they were taught music by some sort of father figure. For Mozart it was his actual father.
For Beethoven it is not known if his real father or an adopted father was the one who taught him
piano. Stravinsky had an adopted father who was the one who taught him music since his real
father wanted Stravinsky to be a lawyer. Additionally, they all had an influential role in the
evolutionof music. Mozart had a great influence on the music of the Classical period, but he also
helped in the development of the Romantic era. Beethoven was the major composer of the
Romantic Era and helped develop the modern era. Stravinsky, as stated before, was one of the
most influential composers of the 20th century. They also had some sort of distinct way in which
they would write music. Mozart s music, for example, was usually graceful, restraint, balances but
at the same time it could be dark. He was able to create music that was unique. Beethoven s music,
on the other hand, included the pedal, which helped him make it more emotional. His songs would
sometimes have a sort of joyful tune in them, then it would turn darker and sound angry; his music
had lots of emotion. While Stravinsky still utilized styles from the Classical period, his music had
