I despise seagulls. Out of all the birds that we see lots of in our lives why does it
have to be the most noisy, disruptive, ugly birds that populate our city? Wouldn t it be

was walking down the street and a seagull pooped right on the spot where my
cheek and hair meet. Which made it much more convenient that I was out with my

Nostalgia is defined as a wistful desire to return in thought or in fact to a former
time in one s life, to one s home or homeland, or to one s family and friends; a
sentimental yearning for the happiness of a former place or time. (Dictionary.com)
Nostalgia is often caused by something prompting the individual of an event or detail
from their past. In theory, nostalgia is a wonderful experience of reminiscing on
memories in the past, but every so often nostalgia can have negative effects on one s
mindset. The result of these feelings and emotions can range through many different
things, from happiness, to sorrow, to anger. In The Reluctant Fundamentalist, Mohsin
Hamid suggests that in difficult times in people s lives, nostalgia happens, and can
evoke different emotions in people.

In this respect, they shared some memories of their childhood and adolescence
