Holocaust Essays
Writing an essay on the topic of the Holocaust is undeniably challenging and emotionally taxing.
The Holocaust, one of the darkest chapters in human history, involves exploring the systematic
genocide perpetrated by the Nazis during World War II. It demands a thorough understanding of
historical events, the socio-political context of the time, and the profound impact on individuals
and communities.
Addressing such a sensitive and grave subject requires a delicate balance between factual
accuracy, empathy, and respect for the victims. The research process alone can be daunting, as it
involves delving into extensive historical records, survivor testimonies, and scholarly analyses.
The emotional toll of absorbing the atrocities committed and the suffering endured by millions
can be overwhelming.
Crafting an essay on the Holocaust demands a nuanced approach to ensure that the gravity of
the events is conveyed without sensationalism or trivialization. Navigating the ethical dimensions
of the topic and acknowledging the human aspect while maintaining academic rigor adds
another layer of complexity.
Moreover, conveying the significance of the Holocaust in a way that fosters understanding and
remembrance without inadvertently perpetuating stereotypes or misconceptions requires careful
consideration. Striking the right tone is crucial to engage the reader while respecting the
solemnity of the subject matter.
In conclusion, writing an essay on the Holocaust is an arduous task that requires a profound
commitment to accuracy, sensitivity, and ethical considerations. It demands a meticulous research
process and a skillful approach to convey the historical significance without diminishing the
human tragedy that unfolded. As challenging as it may be, addressing this topic is essential for
preserving the memory of the Holocaust and learning from the past to prevent such atrocities in
the future.

Governments Censoring Internet Content
This paper explores the pros and cons of government involvement in controlling the
content of the Internet. Everyday technology is getting more sophisticated, meaning
that nowadays it is easy to explore about a certain issue via online connection and be
near the world. In the present, as long as you have Internetconnection, you have the
ability to have access to all kind of information that is posted on Internet. There is a
huge debate whether internet should be regulated or not, and this is excepted to
continue in the upcoming years. Those who support the information epoch, tend to
consider Internet to be essential and productive in educating its population. However,
those who don t favor content on the internet want to build... Show more content on

According to Leatherman (1993), Freedom of speech meant not only freedom from
any form of governmental control, but also freedom from private social pressures
that could also inhibit thought and opinion . As long as people belong to a society,
they have the right to be free form any governmental inference. The word itself
censoring means limitation, which limits people ideas and imaginations. If for any
reason government decides to censor some Internet media for offensive reasons
then as Leatherman stated (1993), What may be offensive to one person may not be
to another . This clearly explains that you cannot base your reasoning by making all
people the same. As a matter of fact, parents are the one who should be more careful
educating their children in order to not allow civil liberties to be restricted. The
notion of censorship means that government decides what is good and bad for
society, illustrating the power that they have.
Conversely, the proponents argue that censorship is used to protect social norms. In
other words, censoring means protecting people from harmful content which
influences people s behavior. As long as, people have the right to post anything they
wish on the Internet, they are incapable to think about consequences. They do not
consider the surrounding how it might be affected, but they aim just their voice to be
heard. Therefore, government, which deals with public policy, considers
DHS Risk Assessment
DHS enforces Homeland Infrastructure Threat and Risk Analysis Center. This
center has made efforts to inject imagination into risk assessments through
processes such as red team exercises. As a next step, there needs to be a systematic
and defensible process by which ideas generated by red teams and through
alternative analysis sessions are incorporated into the appropriate models and the
development of new models (n.d., 2010). After 9/11 DHS put more time and money
in coming up with ways to prevent risks and reduce the amount of damages caused
by hazard/natural disaster. DHS plan is to reduce vulnerabilities or increase
resilience for the long term. DHS recognizes that the use of generic attack scenarios

The Market Entry of Starbucks into China
The final project is going to be about the market entry of Starbucks into China. This
project will focus on gauging the success of the company s market entry strategy
thus far. Starbucks has announced in a press release that it believes China will be its
#2 market by 2014, and the company has been one of the most successful American
companies in that market (Starbucks, 2012). The company entered the Chinese market
in 1999 with a store in Beijing. This followed the acquisition of greater knowledge
about Chinese business culture through outlets in Taiwan. The company initially used
a licensing agreement to enter the Chinese market (Starbucks, 2010).
Since that point in time, the company extended its presence in the Chinese market in
2000 with a different licensee partner in Shanghai. In 2002, a third partner was added
to help Starbucks expand into Shenzhen, two years after entering the Hong Kong
market. Using these three major markets as a base, the company expanded from
Shenzhen to Guangzhou and from Shanghai to Ningbo, Nanjing, Suzhou, Wuxi and
Changzhou. By 2005, the company was ready to open its first company owned store,
in Qingdao, an area of the country not overlapping with the existing licensee
agreements. Over time, the company has increased its equity positions in some of the
joint ventures, and it has also opened more company owned stores, and even bought
back some stores.
This topic was chosen because of the wealth of material available on it. Starbucks is

United States Of The Gulf Cooperation Council ( Gcc )
Qatar and other states of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) repeatedly face
international critique regarding their treatment of migrant workers in construction
and household services. Non governmental organizations (NGOs) and international
organizations (IOs) are reporting abusive and unsafe working and living conditions
while simultaneously trying to influence and mediate between Gulf Council
Cooperation (GCC) governments, migrant workers, and civil society. GCC
governments are attempting to implement labor policies to promote the hiring of
local workers; this would reduce the supply of foreign labor, and possibly ensure
adequate treatment of local workers.
This reformation is dependent on the role of international government and non
governmental agencies, and the possibility for these agencies to change local
policies. This is taken in the context of growing global and local awareness about
migrant workers and fundamental human rights abuses, including the human
trafficking and forced labor currently occurring within Qatar s migrant worker
population.
International migration today is closely associated with state sovereignty. States
would engage in international cooperation through a wide range of transnational
issues, but when it comes to immigrants and refugees, nation states claim that the
sovereign right to control one s own boarders to be the primary responsibility
(Sasson 1996). Even if cooperation were recognized as useful or necessary, in

Cases Concerning Fundamental Breach And Non Delivery
3.Cases concerning fundamental breach
3.1.Non delivery
The failure of the seller in delivering the goods is almost always considered to be a
fundamental breach. This could be exemplified by a decision of Hamburg
arbitration award, whereby a seller from Czech and buyer from Germany disputed
over an advance payment for the goods and delivery. The seller suspended delivery
of the goods claiming advance payment, whereas, the buyer requested for avoidance
of the contract due to non delivery. The tribunal held that, advance payment should
not be a ground to suspend delivery, therefore, confirmed the request of the buyer to
avoid the contract. Similar view has been held by an arbitration tribunal in China
whereby, failure of the seller to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In addition, the type of goods to be delivered should also be taken into account
when determining late delivery as a fundamental breach. For instance, in the case
between Italdecor s.a.s v. Yiu s Industries (H.K.) Limited, the buyer claimed for
avoidance of the contract and refund of the purchase price for the knitwear ordered
due to the late delivery. The appellate court of Millan held that, although fixed after
the contract was concluded, time was important as the goods were to be sold at the
end of the year s sales. Therefore, the seller has committed fundamental breach and
confirmed the buyer request of avoidance, restitution of the already effected payment
along with interest.
On another case involving summer cloths it was held that, a late the delivery by one
day would not constitute a fundamental breach.
Although, there seems to be a general agreement as to mere late delivery not
amounting to fundamental breach; it still would be challenging to reach at a
conclusion as to what accounts as mere and substantial late delivery in terms of days.
3.3.Non conforming goods
Article 35 of the CISG deals with conformity of goods. It specifically obliges the
seller to deliver the goods as stated in the
The Realism Of Realism And Film
The aesthetics of realism in each film can be utilized in many diverse ways to offer
certain truths about the world of the film to further express the film s story. These
theatrical elements emphasize what the film attempts to relay to the audience;
moreover, it intensifies the authenticity of each aspect of the film. The use of real
people, on camera interviews, textual information, and of direct address to the camera
displays the realism of each film.
Textual information is shown in This is Spinal Tap and Shut up and Sing in various
parts of the movies and for different reasons. The first time textual information is
presented in Spinal Tap is at the beginning of the film. As the band plays at the
concert, the camera moves to each band ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
On camera interviews in both the films accentuate the films realism. In Shut up and
Sing there is an interview in the beginning of the movie which took place after
Natalie voiced her impolite comment about President Bush. This shows the audience
that Natalie is in fact sorry she said what she had said but not sorry she had spoken
up. Martie furthers her point by saying that their band would not be as eminent as
they are now if Natalie restrained her outspoken attitude. Another example is when
the Dixie Chicks are interviewed after the release of their new song Not Ready to
Make Nice. The interviewer says that public opinion has changed much in the past
three years and that Bush s ratings have gone down. Natalie replies that they were
compelled to write their newest album. This shows the audience the band s
determination to stick with their opinions and that Bush s support has decreased
while the band s support has endured. In Spinal Tap, there are several instances in
where the band is interviewed. It is relayed to the audience that several drummers
that were once apart of Spinal Tap have all died under mysterious circumstances.
This element, on camera interviews, is used to disclose some background of the
band. Another example is when the lead singer of the band is interviewed after
Nigel quits the band. David says that he will move on because Nigel leaving is no
different than all the other people that have left the band. He also says

The World s Wife Carol Ann Duffy Analysis
The World s Wife is a collection of poems by Carol Anne Duffy published in 1999.
Throughout Duffy s collection of the poems she represents women from history,
myths and fairy tales, particularly those whose stories tend to be defined by men, or
who have only a cameo appearance in male dominated scenarios. The Worlds Wife
collection explores the themes of sexism, inequality and stereotypes, which women,
sadly still face in modern society. In Duffy s collection some poems look at the story
of the man from a womans perspective, such as the poem Mrs Aesop . Other poem s
stories have been slightly altered like The Kray Sisters. As we already know the
Kray Twinsare two male English gangsters from the East End of London during the...

At the end of the same sentence the speaker says you came at last at the edge of the
woods. The full stop of this sentence further emphasises the speaker s childhood
ending because the whole sentence of being innocent is coming to an end. This
sentence also creates a lot of tension and excitement building up within the speaker,
as she is stepping out of her comfort zone. Little Red continues on saying I made
sure he spotted me. This line makes the speaker sound quite dominating as Little
Red was demanding the Wolf to watch her. Already we can get a sense of reversed
roles, as stereotypically men are seen as more dominating in relationships than
woman, but it is Little Red who is dictating in their relationship. Little Red towards
the end of the poem, after 10 years of their relationship describes it as year in, year
out, season after season, same rhyme, same season. The constant repetition is an
imagery how bored Little Red is with her relationship with the greying wolf and that
she desires something new in her life, something more exciting. Also, the sibilance
emphasises how irritated Little Red is becoming towards her partner, as the s sound
mirrors the sound of an evil snake, linking to the next sentence when Little Red
describes how she took an axe/to a willow to see how it wept. These two sentences

What Is The Similarities Between Easter 1916 And An

The effects of war as a theme in W.B.Yeats s Easter 1916 and An Irish Airman
Foresees His Death Easter 1916 and An Irishman Foresees His Death are poems
which were written by William Butler Yeats. Easter 1916 was written to relive the
Easter Rising, an event which occurred in Ireland during Easter in the year 1916 to
confirm its independence and national identity from British. An Irishman Foresees
His Death was written as a tribute to Major Robert Gregory who had died while
fighting for his country during World War I. Although both the poems focuses on
war yet the perception viewed on war is different. Therefore, both of these poems
will be compared with the consequences of war as the theme of the poem and based
on the patriotic emotions... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For the perception of war in Easter 1916 it was a patriotic and collective force
especially fighting for their nation. However, in An Irish Airman Foresees His
Death, the Irishman though he was patriotic he makes war sound as though they
had to go out of compulsion or was forced to go. Moreover the airman flew in the
sky not only to fight but also to fulfill his desire. Those that I fight I do not hate,
Those that I guard I do not love (Yeats, 1918). There is deep irony in this statement
because Yeats says that those people who fight for his country and people are the
courageous man whom the poet worships and he hates those people who always try
to rule and make other people to follow them. This statement signifies Yeats hatred
towards British country that conquered and ruled Ireland. Although they had
positive thoughts towards Germany they were insisted to revolt against by the
British. In Easter 1916, British colonized Ireland and harsh anti Catholic law were
passed upon Irish people, that led to increase in Irish Nationalism and it let to revolt
in. So in this context, Yeats is talking about the British for being too offensive and it
makes the people wonder how many Irish people suffered and had been killed during
World War I. Around thirty five thousand Irish died in the First World War among one

Native American Blindness
This disease is one of the most used disease due to the product being developed for
it and the product actually being able to help restore the condition back to normal.
Currently the Argus II is also being tested for people with more common conditions
like age related eye vision loss.
Even though the pictures patients saw that were produced by the artificial eye were
way far from being the ideal type to call someone not blind, they did let the patient
see clear enough to allow them to recognize faces who they would otherwise not be

If humans can restore the full sight to a blind person what can they do to a person
who is not blind and is capable of normal sight. The possibilities are endless as
many things can be done and many doctors are foreshadowing them as
possibilities. A future where having bionic eyes would make you superhuman?
How? Well, light comes in different wavelengths and humans can only see the
visible spectrum made of colored light. If a bionic eye could let us see the entire
electromagnetic spectrum, from radio waves to gamma waves we d be able to see
heat, identify types of gases by sight, and even look through walls. In a future of
humans with a computer in their eyes bionic eyes will be an ongoing topic of the
future. With a camera as an eye, humans will be able to do things like: zoom in and
out like a camera lens, have UV vision, record what we see, and even automatically
be able to sync it to the net with our Wi Fi connected eyes. This is all just
speculation but there s no denying that this type of technology as innovative as it
is, is going to turn science fiction into reality one day. Having bionic eyes will open
up a broad array of applications in multiple fields such as studying microbes
without having to carry all the equipment needed to see under the microscope,
soldiers will be able to detect mines in a field, airports will be able to make their

Elements Of The Past In Isabel Allende s The Stories Of...
In the series of short stories The Stories of Eva Luna, the author, Isabel Allende,
incorporates the element of the past affecting the present into her plotlines. This style
of writing creates a correlation between the new and the old by establishing a cause
and effect type of relationship. While this element exists in all of Allende s short
stories, she exhibits it most prominently in The Gold of TomГЎs Vargas. In this
specific short story, the main character, TomГЎs Vargas, indulges in life s luxuries
and pleasures to their fullest extents. TomГЎs can afford to act in such a manner
because of a past event, occurring at a timebefore which the short story even takes
place: the burying of his gold. When paper money loses almost all its value, TomГЎs

TomГЎs burying his gold, an event ensuing in the past, entirely fueling his arrogant
attitude in the present and creating the illusion of wealth which ultimately leads to his
demise demonstrates how the old directly influences the new. The past event of
TomГЎs burying his gold definitively shapes his personality into one of arrogance
and vanity. When the short story first introduces the character of TomГЎs Vargas, it
adds, Age did nothing to quell Vargas s bent for quarreling, carousing, and
womanizing. He took great pride in being the most macho macho in the region, as
he bellowed in the plaza every time he went off his head with drink and broadcast
at the top of his lungs the names of all the girls he had seduced and all the bastards
who carried his blood (Allende 66). This quote depicts the very one sided nature of
TomГЎs; he acts in whichever way he chooses, showing no regard or consideration
for the feelings of anyone other than himself. He believes that everyone is subordinate

Favism Disease Research Paper
Favism disease, also known by its more scientific name of Glucose 6 Phosphate
Dehydrogenase Deficiency, is just that. Affecting 400 million people in the
Mediterranean and Africa, it is an inherited enzyme deficiency that is caused by a
genetic mutation, where the body lacks a kind of glucose, specifically Glucose6
Phosphate Dehydrogenase (G6PD) in the blood. G6PD is prevalent in every cell
of the body, especially in red blood cells, where it cleans up free radicals in the
cells. Free radicals are chemical elements looking to pair up with other chemicals, but
can cause chemical reactions within cells that cause premature cell death. Free
radicals disrupt cellular chemistry, and are thought to be a major cause of aging. In a

More than 50% of the world s population lives in an area where Malaria is common.
The first signs of malaria are fevers, chills, joint pain, vomiting, and anemia, and
can lead to a coma or death. Scientist JBS Haldane once suggested that people with
sickle cell anemia or thalassemia were naturally resistant to P. Falciparum, the
malarial disease. G6PD is an even better naturally evolved protection against
malaria. Researchers who studied the relationship of G6PD deficiency and malaria
found that children with the G6PD A mutation had a resistance twice as strong as
normal children to P. Falciparum. That s because Malaria, like many other
diseases, prefer normal healthy red blood cells rather than G6PD deficient blood
cells to multiply. Malaria is a delicate virus, and can only thrive is clean red blood
cells. The G6PD deficient cells are not only less hospitable to the virus but die
early which may disrupt the virus s lifestyle. At one point in time people
recognized that eating fava beans would reduce their body s hospitability to
Malaria, and thus evolved Favism disease which continues to serve the same
purpose today. People who are only partially deficient (women) are much better off
because not only do they get the malarial protection, but they also can ingest fava
beans and medicine safely. This is why people of African and Mediterranean descent
continue to develop Favism
The Rhetorical Analysis Of Reverend Martin Luther King
Jr.
On April 28, 1963 over 200,00 Americans gathered at the Washington monument to
protest cruelty that was being spread among our country. On that day, one of the
most famous speeches of all American history was delivered. From that speech,
America experienced a change that has brought us to where we are today. In the
famous, I have a dream speech proclaimed by Reverend Martin Luther King Jr.,
many types of rhetoric was utilized to try and stop the racial inequality that was
occurring within our country at the time. One of the most influential and famous
Americans of all history announced this speech, most definitely allowing this
address to be trustworthy nd truthful. Besides being a well know activist, Martin
Luther King Jr. was reverend who has also had many written books. Consequently,
allowing him to have had experience with writing and how to convey an idea
among people. This is evident with his use of many literary element used. Overall,
Martin Luther King Jr. was a renowned historical figure who without a doubt can
be credited to be a trustworthy source of ideas. Although MLK is credible, there
can be bias , which is understandable in the situation, in the writing of MLK Jr. s
speech. This can be viewed with the evidence of cruelty that had been brought
among his fellow peers. His biased view can be due to his claim which is that
America needs to change for there to be equality of races. This can be viewed as to
persuade the Americans and possibly even to prove to the government the wrong
doing that is taking place. The most viewable fallacy that used is within the speech
is when he explains how if this country does not solve this problem, that American
will continue to be tossed around in turmoil. This fallacy can identified as a scare
tactic. This is due to the reason that MLK provides a freighting idea that could or
would sway the opinion of someone. Although his biased opinion can be due to
emotion, Martin Luther King Jr. continues to provide evidence and emotion to help
better explain the situation on why America should change the ways among the
people in order to help better the people if equality was created. Besides the small
amount of bias used in this address by MLK, he continued
Two Great Short Stories Read by Many are A Rose for

Two of the greatest short stories written back in late 19th and early 20th centuries
are still read by many people. The two stories are A Rose for Emily written by
William Faulkner and Guy De Maupassant s The Necklace . Faulkner s book is
about a woman named Emily Grierson s life and her horrible secret she hides. The
other book is about a materialistic woman named Mathilde Loisel loses a fake
necklace and find out to be a fake one after ten years later. Although these stories are
written about fifty years apart and written from two different countries, these two
stories have many similarities and differences. A Rose for Emily and The Necklace

Also these items can reflect the strong symbolism in it. Faulkner used a rose, but
De Maupassant used the necklace to represent the main character s emotions in
two items. The difference in those symbols is that a rose has only appeared on the
title but the necklace is the whole flow of the story. Faulkner leaves the reader to
interpret the rose s symbolic meaning. The rose is usually a powerful symbol of
love, it always has been, and portrays an everlasting beauty. Moreover, the rose has
been used for centuries to illustrate an eternal type of love and faithfulness.
Therefore, readers can infer the meaning that the rose present in the title, and
portray it to Emily that she does not have love in her life. The necklace, however it
is the important items that lead to the climax of the story. It is pretty but
worthless, shows the awareness of appearance and real world. Also, the fake
necklace shows Mathilde s desire to be something she is not. The last comparison
about these two narratives about tone. The tone of two narratives is very ironic.
There are many ironies to be found in A Rose for Emily. One of the examples,
when she is speaking with the Aldermen. They are trying to convince Emily to pay
her taxes and she simply repeated a person s name who has been dead for ten years.
The other story The Necklace also have many ironical quotes. Mathilde Loisel really
wants to be in the upper class society, but because she shows persistence borrowing

our small 800 square foot apartment, in the heart of Omaha, Nebraska. This was a

The Analysis of Mozart s Dies Irae Essay

The Analysis of Mozart s Dies Irae The final composition of Mozart, The Requiem
mass in D Minor, containing Dies Irae, is known to be one of his most powerful
and commended works. This piece was composed in 1791 while Mozart was,
unfortunately, on his death bed. However, he was unable to complete it so it was
then passed on to his assistant and later finished by this man. The choral work can be
very dark, for it concerns the Day of Wrath, when God will return to this earth and
pass judgment on all creatures that remain, either granting them salvation or perpetual
damnation to hell. This theme alone provides one with fear, thus it can be assumed

of modern teachings have been taught that the chord after the slash mark of the

as more traditional in the sense of good music theory practice, but regarding that it

color to his compositions by also using Neapolitan chords. He effectively uses
them as both a passing function as well as a neighboring function. In the example
provided above, Mozart cleanly exercises the passing rule of the Neapolitan 6th
chord. Refer to Figure 2, measures 36 and 37: D Minor: V7 i i N6 ( in passing
function) в—¦7 Mozart clearly integrates the Neapolitan chord correctly, in the
practical theory sense, and also very well in the application of the passing function.

Oregon State University: Oregon State University was founded in 1868 and is a
state college located in my hometown, Corvallis Oregon. This makes it a
convenient choice for anyone who lives in Corvallis, including myself. Corvallis
Oregon is said to be the fourth best college town nationwide and is consistently
ranked as one of the safest, greenest, and best cities to live in. Oregon State is also
the leading public research university, and also ranks high in sustainability. It s

Difference Between Vegetarianism And Vegetarianism
Vegetarian vs Meat eater Humans need substance to survive. Every single person has
a choice in the type of diet they consume each day. Certain lifestyles, such as
vegetarianism or a meat based diet, can affect a variety of issues that are common in
today s society. Both vegetarians and meat eaters make conscious efforts when eating
which affects animal agriculture, the environment, their health, and the economy.
Studies with staggering statistics have shown how much of a negative impact
producing meatfor consumption is having on this planet. It takes more than 2,400
gallons of water to produce 1 pound of beef, while producing 1 pound of tofu only
requires 244 gallons of water (PETA). Factory farms create manure which produces
runoff and is one of the leading causes for the pollution in rivers and lakes. This
also poses an issue for the air that people are breathing. Studies have shown that
[animal waste] lagoons emit toxic airborne chemicals that can cause inflammatory,
immune, irritation and neurochemical problems in humans (Foer). Another issue is
the land that is being wasted. Threats like deforestation become a reality when
crops are being used to feed animals and not humans directly. Only 4 million acres
are being used to grow plants that go directly to humans, while 56 million acres are
being used to grow feed for animals, and this is in the United States alone (PETA).

Descriptive Essay On Nantucketu
I am fortunate enough to live on the beautiful island of Nantucket. Growing up here
in such a close knit community, has put me aside from your average high schooler
in the best way possible. Nantucket is full of incredible wildlife and conservation
land that is so unique it looks untouched. Wintertime, when all the summer people
leave, you know everybody on the island. It s literally impossible to drive through
town without seeing a familiar face. But by the time summer comes the island
explodes with electricity that s unlike anywhere else. Massive yachts pack our tiny
harbor and enormous private jets fill the airport on the weekends. Having such a
drastic change is something that makes Nantucketso unique. Personally, I don t have
a favorite season, Nantucket is perfect year round and that s why I feel so blessed
to call it home. When the days are shorter and the water is colder the tourists are
driven away, leaving a small community, one of the greatest communities on the
planet. So close that when someone dies it can affect the whole island. The best
feature Nantucket has to offer is how the locals come together and help others in
need. When something happens, news travels fast and everyone knows. Having a
small community also makes our sports teams closer, we have no choice but to play
together. We spend a lot more time together than other teams, every away game we
have to take a boat then a school bus to the game. Doing that gets us more
comfortable with each other

Officials looked into any possible motives despite her parents protesting that,
besides her occasional mood swings, there had not been signs or clues to her
decision. After going through the teen s belongings, the family found a drawing
that referenced an online game called Blue Whale with most of its players from
Russia. After extensive research, officials released statements claiming that the
game apparently required players to accomplish a variety of tasks over a 50 day time
period. On the 50th day, the players are encouraged to commit suicide. The alleged

from people thanking Gadot for empowering women in the media to people
advocating for similar movies with females and minorities in the cast. The movement
this movie has sparked is relevant for two reasons: one, the role proves that women

Stock Market and Firm Essay
Background
The Blackstone Group (Blackstone) is a private equity firm founded in 1985 by two
former employees of Lehman Brothers. In May 2007 the firm had $88.4 billion under
management and had grown 41% annually since 2001.
The firm operated in several business groups but distinguished itself from other firms
by extensive collaboration across divisions. It was divided into Corporate Private
Equity, Real Estate Funds, Marketable Alternative Asset Management, Corporate
Debt Funds, and Advisory Services.
In 2007 Blackstone started to evaluate the option of taking the firm public. Reasons
why the firm should do an IPO, outlined by the firm s internal project group, included:

Third, to further smooth out potential fluctuations in the share price the firm
guarantees a dividend during the first years after listing.
The fact that the stock market tends to be short term focused further shows the
importance of having the MLP structure. To maintain the long term focus on
investments the firm needs to separate the governance of the firm from the
shareholders and the limited voting rights will ensure this.
2.If you were a limited partner in Blackstone, how would you view the structure
Blackstone has put in place to go public?
As a limited partner in Blackstone I would consider the structure as chosen to ensure
my interests. Given the fact that the firm chose to go public for the opportunities that
a listing brings, it seems to be the best way of doing it.
I would be most worried about that the firm would try too much to stabilize the
share price and fulfil the interest of the shareholders by focusing on short term
profits. Many of the limited partners in a private equity fund are pensions funds or
similar and do not mind to lock their money over a longer time period and, by doing
so, seek the long term profit that the private equity firm can offer. I will highlight the
two things that make me confident that my interests as a limited partner will be
maintained with the structure that the firm is implementing. First, the structure allows
Vonnegut Cat s Cradle Analysis
Vonnegut s classic satire Cat s Cradle revolves around a journalist named Jonah (as
in Jonah and the whale ), writing a book about the day the first atomic bomb was
dropped. In trying to interview the three children of the bomb s inventor, Felix
Hoenikker, he is led to the impoverished island of San Lorenzo. It is here that Jonah
becomes aware of the outlawed religion Bokononism. Religion (Christianity and
Bokononism) proves to be a central element of Cat s Cradle. Vonnegut is highly
critical of religion, suggesting through character interactions with both Christianity
and Bokononism, that religion is a false form of human connection at best and at
worst a vehicle through which followers cleanse themselves of responsibility for the
world.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Throughout the novel, Christianity is satirized, as when Miss Faust recounts to
Jonah her discussion with Dr. Hoenikker: Dr. Hoenikker asks her if she can tell
him anything completely true, to which she responds God is love (55). Hoenikker
questions her further, but she just repeats the mantra. Vonnegut implies through
Miss Faust s response that she, like so many others, has little understanding of God
or love. Vonnegut christian reliance on abstract concepts like God for stability and
motivation to continue living. This criticism is consistent throughout the novel,
another example being when Hazel, the same woman obsessed with her status as a
Hoosier, declares I m so glad (San Lorenzo s) a Christian country...or I d be a little
scared, (137). That Hazel appraises an entire population based on their country s
religious stance would be humorous in its extremity were it not for that people
behave this way in reality. Hazel clearly craves human connection based on her
fixation with Indianans and insistence that Jonah call her Mom , but she searches for
connection in the superficial. In this instance Vonnegut includes her religion as part
of her delusion of connection, insisting religion is not a valid vehicle for connection,
particularly Hazel s good versus evil concept of

Should We Let Astrology Affect Our Thinking Or

Should we let astrology affect our thinking or perception towards life?
In today s society, astrology has been an extremely fascinating belief and study
among certain social groups. Many people are used to refer to the daily horoscope
in newspapers and popular magazines. However, a large group of scientists and
philosophers such as Thagard (1978) consider that astrology is a pseudoscience, but
there is a small amount of scientific evidence on whether if it is truly a
pseudoscience or not. Some of them discuss that the psychological belief in
astrology of oneself is the consequence of his or her desperation in finding solutions
to their personal problems such as marriage and career which can somehow affect
their life because of its psychological effects (Bennett, 1998). Besides, astrology is
considered as an ancestor of modern science which is supported by two aspects of
discussions (Thomas, 1971). Furthermore, most scientists hold the opinion that
astrology can not be trust because it is lack of scientific support. Nevertheless,
according to Fitts Fitzgerald (1977), the fate of one person is determined at some
level which is inevitable and inescapable. Moreover, Konstantinides (2004) contradict
the idea that constellations are supposed to determine the characteristics of oneself in
that everyone is different somehow even for twins. At last but not least, some experts
claim that people do not necessarily understand themselves and others through
astrology. That is why we

In the poem, she being Brand/ new by E.E. Cummings, the writer has chosen to
use symbols and unique capitalization in parts of the poem to reference a sexual

requirements, identifies risks, defines estimations (workload, costs), develops time

stakeholders to commit on pre study results.
A Development phase (that may consist of different iterations and technical reviews)
in which technical solutions are defined, software coding is implemented, validation

When completed, an end of development review is held with all project stakeholders

Then the software is delivered to customers and to the teams in charge of maintaining
it, through an Acceptance phase. In that phase, Customers will check that the
software meets its requirements and maintenance resources will make sure they have

Transcultural Literature And Contemporary World
Literature
Arianna Dagnino in her essay Transcultural Literature and Contemporary World
Literature points out that with the denationalizing wave of globalization, even
national literatures are under pressure to find new arrangements of form and content
to adapt to a changed cultural and social paradigm. In other words, a mutation is
under way within the global acumen of letters where new notions of belonging, as
well as definitions of selfhood and identity are externalized through new creative
artistic and literary processes. Within this emerging social, cultural, and literary
scenario, scholars feel the urge to identify new relevant literary paradigms, especially
when dealing with the so called New Literatures in English represented by the works
of, say, Zadie Smith, Hanif Kureishi, Kamila Shamsie, Michael Ondaatje, or Joy
Nozomi Kogawa or recently through Animewith its heavy borrowing of motifs from
western canonised literature and its gradual popularity as an emerging form of
literary creativity.
According to Merriam Webster dictionary, anime is a style of animation originating in
Japan that is characterized by stark colorful graphics depicting vibrant characters in
action filled plots often with fantastic or futuristic themes. While Oxford Dictionary
dictates anime as A style of Japanese film and television animation, typically aimed
at adults as well as children , the Urban Dictionary explains anime as a style of
animation that originated and is still heavily centered in

Introduction
1.1 Policy Statement
Sustainable development is of fundamental importance to the donor states of the EEA
Financial Mechanism and the Norwegian Financial Mechanism, Iceland,
Liechtenstein and Norway. The donor states consider the primary goal of the EEA
and Norwegian Financial Mechanisms (the EEA Grants), the reduction of social and
economic disparities in the European Economic Area (EEA), as being essential part

It is a fundamental part of this challenge to secure the living and physical
environment, including natural resources, processes and balances. Some simple, yet
fundamental, aims have to be formulated, such as:

Limiting global warming Halting loss of biodiversity Controlling and limiting
emission of persistent chemical pollutants Returning to natural nutrient cycles
The need to limit global warming clearly illustrates how the environment is the
basis for any sustainable development. The only logical way to control global
warming is to reduce the emissions of fossil carbon significantly over a relative
short time. If the climate really comes out of its current balance, it may not be
possible anymore to create the good life of the social dimension with all economic
and other tools available.
3.2
Economy the tool
Traditionally economic development has been seen as the target, and the environment
as the tool through the use of resources. Economic prosperity is a very important
element of sustainable development; it allows to combat poverty, to finance
remediation of old burdens, to make changes in our development, etc. However, not
all economic growth implies improvement for sustainable development. Only
economic growth at reduced environmental impact can be defended as being part of
sustainable development. In other words,

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
Given the recent closures of Future Shop stores across Canada, there is significant
uncertainty facing customers, employees, suppliers, and landlords. Customers will
have concerns regarding gift cards, product returns, and warranties. The challenges of
dealing with employees include addressing termination packages, retaining the best
personnel, and transitioning Future Shop employees from a commissioned pay plan
to a salaried structure. Suppliers concerns will stem from goods transported to Future
Shop on trade credit, and the loss of future business. Landlords will be concerned
with the status of their lease agreements with Future Shop. Also, the decision on
whether to amalgamate or wind down Future Shop operations will be of utmost
importance. Our team has done extensive research into the failures of Target, and is
best suited to help Best Buy navigate through this delicate transition period. This
report analyzes the concerns that Best Buy will face, and addresses them from a
behavioural and legal perspective. In order to maximize the benefits and limit the
risk, our analysis indicates that Best Buy should wind down Future Shop operations
and maintain it as an inactive company.
Sex Roles and Gender Bias in Early Childhood Education...
Sex role stereotyping and gender bias permeate everyday life. Children learn about
sex roles very early in their lives, probably before they are 18 months old, certainly
long before they enter school.(Howe, 1). The behaviors that form these sex roles
often go unnoticed but their effect is immeasurable. Simple behaviors like: the
color coding of infants (blue pink), the toys children are given, the adjectives used
to describe infants (boys: handsome, big, strong; girls: sweet, pretty, precious), and
the way we speak to and hold them are but a few of the ways the sex rolesare
introduced. These behaviors provide the basis for the sex roles and future
encouragement from parents and teachers only reinforce the sex roles.

In literature research, the boys of children s books are active and capable, and the
girls passive and in trouble (Howe,2).
In a mental health study conducted by Inge K. Broverman at Worcester State
Hospital in Massachusetts, it was discovered that the qualities more considered
healthy were those that are stereotypically male behaviors. Women exhibiting these
socially desirable behaviors were; however, not considered healthy. Socially desirable
male behavior Includes: aggression, independence, logic, confidence and ambition.
Female behavior was passivity, dependence, cooth and empathy (Howe, 3). It has
also been observed that despite any noticeable differences, girls are provided with
fewer experiences even in kindergarten (Howe, 5). The junior high school and high
school programs further accentuate the sex roles. Courses such as shop,
metalworking, home economics and typing often have gender requirements (Howe,
6).
Another school arena for open sexual discrimination is physical education. The boys
are often given priority in terms of equipment, gym availability and funding for
athletic activities (Howe,6).

Persuasive Essay On Bass Fishing
Bass Fishing 101
Fishing for bass is one of the best things that you can learn! It s great for passing
time and getting involved with the outdoors. However, it is important to know the
different strategies to fish for bass. You don t want to be out there and not know
what you re doing. I ll be showing you how to start bass fishing and what the best
lures are to be utilizing in certain times of the year.
A Sport for Everyone One of the greatest qualities of bass fishing is that anyone can
do it. A simple statement, but one that holds true regardless of your experience level,
financial position, or background. Although a boat and top of the line equipment
would certainly bring added enjoyment. The same can be said for sitting on the shore
with an inexpensive rod and only a handful of lures.
The Rod and Fishing Line Before you go all out and buy $300 fishing rods and reels,
you may want to buy a rod and reel combo that is beginner friendly. You can usually
find these cheap combo s for around $20 40 at walmart or your nearest outfitter.
You re also going to need to pick up some braided fishing line to spool your reel. I
would suggest 15 20 pound test braid because it doesn t stretch and will last you a
long time.

Stereotypes In Mulan
The Disney version of Mulan, naturally imposes decades old gender stereotypes
which are popular in the American culture. The story begins with Mulan on her
way to the matchmaker. While, getting ready there is a list of qualities that a
respectable woman is expected to be in order to find a man. These qualities are
both physical, such as having a small waist and a gorgeous face, as well as
personality based, because they are expected to be disciplined and respectful. In
addition, the womans makeup and dress are completed so the women look like little
porcelain dolls, perfectly beautiful but quiet. On multiple occasions, Mulan is

Even Shang who said he trusted Mulan, turns his back. When Mulan returns to
town to warn everyone that the Huns are coming no one will believe her, even
strangers refuse to acknowledge her and listen, they just turn and walk away. It is
easy to do this because Mulan is a woman and she is not made to be listened too.
This is even openly stated by Mushu that she is the wrong gender for people to
acknowledge her. When the Huns finally attack, it is Mulan who springs into action,
dressing up her comrades as women. While they are not prettiest women, it is the
perfect disguise to get the group into the palace, because women are able to move
through society unseen, they are hidden because they are quiet and men to choose
not to pay attention to them unless they are noticing their beauty. In the end Mulan
saves the Emperor and all of China from the Huns, but it is not a male quality that
saves the day. Mulan does not use her strength or ability to fight to win as she did
in the other two versions of Mulan, instead she uses a quickly improvised plan to
send Shan Yu the Hun s leader flying into a pile of fireworks. Now dressed as a
woman and being perceived as her true gender Mulan suffers from the arbitrary sex
roles that have been enforced on women since the beginning of their lives. Mulan can
no longer be powerful in her strength and ability to fight, her only strength is in her
brain and her ability to manipulate a situation. Therefore, she must run away from
Shan Yu until she can think up a plan to defeat him, such as the

spite of such urgent motives and circumstance, Hamlet continuously delays the
execution of his task. In William Shakespeare s Hamlet: Prince of Denmark, Hamlet s
inner conflict and indecision lead to his inability to take action. Throughout the
play, Hamlet s inner conflicts, often expressed as his melancholy and disgust,
delay his revenge. In the first act, after everyone leaves the stage, Hamlet says in
his soliloquy, How weary, stale, flat, and unprofitable / Seem to me all the uses of
this world! (1.2.133 4). In A. C. Bradley s words, Hamlet, grieving over his father s
death, feels disgust at life and everything in it (Bradley) and his melancholy is
clear, for he also is longing for death (Bradley), due to the inner conflict that arises
from his grief. Ironically, although Hamlet does not know his task yet, he loses the
will to live, which is essentially the opposite of wanting to take revenge: for he
cannot take revenge when he is dead himself. Another instance of Hamlet s disgust
with the world is when he realises that his two friends Rosencrantz and Guildenstern
came to see him to spy for Claudius. Hamlet says that the goodly frame the earth
seems to [him] a sterile promontory [and the] brave o erhanging firmament,

From as long as I can remember I have always used the internet to do my book
reports or any other writing assignment that involved research. Anything that does
involve online research it only takes a minimum amount of time to find what you
are looking for and incredibly easy to find the answers to the questions one is looking
for. Now a day s not only is it easy you have a guide on your phone and computer
such as Siri, Cortana and Bixby, to help you. All you have to do is ask your device a
question and they go through the web and find the best sites fitted to answer the
question asked or give the direct answer.
The problem with being able to easily obtain information is not knowing if it is true
or not and being able to separate opinion from fact that it has a credible resource to
it, that is a disadvantage. The reason it is a disadvantage is because when doing
assignments and the directions ask for a credible resource you don t want to put
down just any resource that got looked up. The site used needs to have an author or
author s whose name can be credited for the information that was borrowed to write
the paper. If there was not an author on a web page that was used then one
Crosby, Stills And School Shootings
School shootings are something that we as American have unfortunately become
numb to. Every time another one occurs, we all pause and think about how terrible
it is that someone would get to the point mentally where they would open fire on
students, and then we move on. Perhaps no school shooting shook the world quite
as much as the Kent State shooting did, when the National Guard, thus the
government itself, opened fire and killed four college students. In the wake of this
tragedy, Neil Young came together with fellow musicians David Crosby, Stephen
Stills, and Graham Nash to write and perform the song titled simply Ohio. This
song, along with other war protest songs of the time, relayed the raw emotions felt
in the wartime atmosphere and helped to shape and encourage public opinion of the
Vietnam War. Crosby, Stills, and Nash came together as a music group in 1969, and
later recruited Young to join. That year, the group played at the famed Woodstock
festival, and in 1970 released their album DГ©jГ Vu, which would become known as
one of the greatest albums of the early 1970s. Some of the most well known and
best loved songs on this album were Carry On, 4+20, Helpless, Country Girl, and
Teach Your Children, featuring Jerry Garcia on steel guitar. Unfortunately to fans at
the time, the group did not stay together in its entirety for very long; before they split
up, though, the release of Ohio would become perhaps their most recognizable song.

Morgan Motor Company
Morgan Motor Company (MMC) began as a family company and has remained that
way over the years. Decisions were largely driven by steady demand for their luxury
product. Traditionally, decision making was premised on production quotas that kept
supply slightly behind demand. While the company made a profit, it was not enough
to sustain the company in the long term due increasing costs caused by inefficient
methods of production. The key area for improvement was strategic planning based
on detailed and accurate information. The implementation of the strategic plan would
require a review of human resource managementpractices in order for MMC to
develop into an organisation that valued continuous innovation.
MMC could gain valuable ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the first instance, focus should be on developing managers to help facilitate
organisational change (Waldersee, 1997) and enable them to be effective role models
within the company. Training solutions and interventions should target general areas
such as effective teamwork and communication, motivating workers and encouraging
innovation. Additionally, where there are identified skills gaps, it should also target
content specific areas e.g. contemporary sales and marketing practices would make
up for the sales director s lack of recent sales experience. Once again, Charles was led
by example by enrolling in an MBA, thus demonstrating his commitment to ongoing
education and development.
Although collectivism has traditionally been associated with eastern cultures
(Härtel, Fujimoto, Straybosch, Fitzpatrick, 2007), motor companies like Ford and
Toyota moved away from Taylorism and demonstrated the value of teamwork in
vehicle manufacturing (Winfield Kerrin, 1996). However, MMC s reward system of
individual production bonuses did not acknowledge the value of teamwork.
Moreover, an unspecified dollar amount that was eroded by inefficiencies in the
production process did not provide an incentive to improve production. Not only
should these individual production bonuses be quantified, the company should also
consider a reward system for foremen to acknowledge their efforts in encouraging
individuals and teams to achieve higher production.

2.2.2Urban Population and Water Supply in Ethiopia
In Ethiopia 83.9 percent of the total population was found in rural areas, while the
remaining 16.1 percent lived in urban areas. Yet regional data indicate that more than
half of the population in Dire Dawa (67.5%) and Harari (50.5%) were urban
residents. In addition, the proportions of urban residents in Tigray (19.5%) and
Gambella (25.2%) regions are relatively larger than the proportion within the total
national population (CSA, 2008).
However, summary and Statistical Report of the 2007 Population and Housing
Census of Ethiopia does not show the inter censual growth rate by place of
residence. The inter censual growth rate by place of residence would have shown
urbanization and urban population increase in the three census years (1984, 1994,
and 2007).
According to WSDP (2002) in 2001 urban water coverage of Ethiopia is 74.4%,
and population served reaches 9,886,000.The water coverage ranges from 25% in
Harar to 96% in Amhara region. However there are discrepancies among different
documents regarding urban water coverage. For instance WSDP (2002) in Assefa
(2006) indicated the urban water coverage of
How We Listen Aaron Copland Analysis
What is the purpose of music? Music is created to bring happiness to the world. In
How We Listen , Aaron Copland mentions The simplest way of listening to music is
to listen for the sheer pleasure of the musical sound itself. ( Copland ) Music is
defined as an art of sound in time that expresses ideas and emotions in significant
forms through the elements of rhythm, melody, harmony, and color. ( Dictionary )
Different genres relate to different groups of people. People often use musicas
entertainment. This entertainment is composed of an artist s thoughts, feelings, and
emotions written into words. Music should be not censored because of the freedom
of speech every citizen is guaranteed. Profanity and foul language are used in songs.

The 1988 song This Note s For You by Neil Young was banned by MTV due to the
fact the alcohol beverages were mentioned by name.( This ) It is not promoting such
things; the artists are only expressing their feelings towards whatever their are
writing about. Profanity can not censored from everything. It is impossible to hide
the fact that drugs, alcohol, and sex are a part of life.
People are more influenced by other people than they are music. Censoring music
now will not make a change. Individuals are already informed about alcohol, drugs,
and sex, so removing the content from music has no purpose. Countless music
videos have been banned by the BBC or MTV for the content. A selection of
videos do have acceptable reasons to be banned while others are banned for the
slightest release of profanity. Michael Jackson s song Black and White was
banned for sexual dance moves and violence.( 12 ) Sexual content only seems to be

his view of the song with this type of video, then that should not be censored. Sexual

Porter s Four Generic Strategies
According to Mullins (2010) Organisations have no goals; only people do.
Organisational goals are established by people, either individually or more usually by
a number of individuals co operating.
The management of an organisation strives to meet these goals by developing a
strategy to reach them. This essay shall look at porter s four generic strategies and
show examples of tools that can be used to assist the innovation management to
support these goals. These tools include those which insure that the workforce s goals
are aligned to the goals of the organisation.
This essay shall outline porter s four generic strategies: cost leadership ,
differentiation , cost focus and differentiation focus . These relate to segments 3A,
3B, A company has to be in one of these four segments: it cannot be between two.
(Longmuir, 2015a) To achieve this, policies and procedures need to be developed to
focus the whole company from top to bottom
This essay shall then go on to show how innovation is used to maximise profits in
organisations in all four quadrants. Throughout this essay it shall be assumed that
profit is the bottom line of all businesses, but the author would like to state that this
might sometimes not be true which shall be alluded to in the section on overall
differentiation.
A business in the cost leadership segment (top left of figure 1) concentrates being as
cheap for the customer as possible: budget airlines and Poundland could be seen as

Salvador Dali and Alex Andreev s Success in Manipulating...
Altering reality can be done, mentally, physically, or emotionally, it is changing
what you see, hear, feel or believe is real. Because altering reality can be created in
so many ways artists from the turn of the 20th century have been altering reality in
magnificent art works, telling the untold, speaking the unspeakable and
transferring the viewer to a mythical imaginable universe where anything can
happen. They created a way to escape the real world, to pretend that the world was
a nice place, so that society would relax or have somewhere to go to feel peaceful.
Two amazing and well known artists that alter reality are Salvador Dali and Alex
Andreev. Dali s well known surrealism art works appeared in the late 1920 s and
are iconic for this period. Hegelian Dialectic said that Surrealism would advocate
the idea that ordinary and depictive expressions are vital and important, but that the
sense of their arrangement must be open to the full range of imagination. (Ades, D,
2001) Andreev s art works are a contemporary twist on surrealism and are
contrastingly bright and energetic. Both are successful in altering reality as they
manipulate the audience s reality physically and mentally as they use out of place
objects, mentally impossible themes and intriguing meanings. After WWII many
people had no art or literature of any sorts that was not purely educational, the people
craved for something to ease their minds from the sorrow and suffering and reality of
war. The

encountered as pioneers of the fast food business.
The first major roadblock that Harry and Esther Snyder encountered struck home
especially hard in the form of cancer. After smoking a pack a day for thirty years

Harry and Esther s intention to keep In N Out Burger a private, family run
business for succeeding generations of Snyder s. The challenge for Harry was to

maintain its success without abandoning the unique culture that had made it a
winning hand in the first place and to keep it in the family for successive

successful business with 18 locations along southern California. (109) Rich on the

had strong Christian beliefs and never butted heads with his dad like Guy. It was a
pretty clear cut decision that Rich was to take over for Harry when he passed but
Rich was not as confident in himself running the family business as Harry. Rich was

Citizen Kane Film Analysis
Citizen Kane is a critically acclaimed movie that most critics rank as one of the best
of all times. The movie has an outstanding narrative structure. The first thing that is
easy to identify is that the difference between story and plot is clear. This movie is
not told in chronological order which makes it easy to identify the clear distinction
between story and plot. The lack of chronological order is first evident in the way the
movie starts. It starts with the death of Kane instead of his birth. On the other hand,
some aspects of the movie are told in chronological order such as the investigation
into the meaning of Rosebud. This contrasts Kane s life which is told out of
chronological order. The investigations present the plot of the movie while the life of
Kane presents the story of the movie. This makes the movie great because it creates a
unique combination of plot and story that makes the movie unique and interesting.
Citizen Kane is also narrated through a series of setbacks. These flashbacks include
Thatcher s notebooks, Bernstein, Jeb Leland, Susan Alexander Kane and Raymond.
Susan s interview takes place earlier in the movie but he only gets to hear her story
until the end. This interview takes the form of a flashback. The use of flashbacks
enriches the plot of a movie.
However, flashbacks must be prudently used to ensure that they do not end up
confusing the viewer and weakening the plot of the film. Another unique part of the
narrative structure is that

Market and environmental analysis of McDonalds Corp 2003.
Market and environmental analysis is an essential part of an organization s External
Analysis.
The main objectives of a market analysis are;
a)To determine how attractive a market is.
b)To understand the dynamics of the market and amend strategies accordingly.
Here we apply the dimensions of a Market Analysis to McDonalds corp.
1)Emerging submarkets;
McDonalds failed to recognize the changing trend in customer s preferences to better
tasting, fresher food. This trend led to new sub markets emerging for tastier, fresher
and fast food perceived as healthier. A few of the smaller/privately owned
competitors (Cosi and Quizno s) were able to operate in niche markets ... Show more

With the rising immigrant population customers now had a choice of items.
McDonalds realize this too late and try to counter this effect by introducing new
burgers. However, the testing of the new menu does not gauge strongly enough the
changing customer preferences and this poor planning led to its failure.
Internally changing trends were also blindsided. Franchisees who were the closest to
customers were not included in decision making and were thus disgruntled. Here was
the need to change the management style from top down to bottom up. This would
have solved some of the issues plaguing McDonalds, by providing data on what
customers want and what products would have a greater chance of success.
7)Key success Factors
McDonalds did have some strengths or key success factors;
a)Large number of franchises that led to economies of scale. This however contrasted
to the small is beautiful concept of the niche markets.
b)Complete training for franchisees to begin and run their own McDonalds proved to
be a good team building exercise.
c)Cost of food was low due to economies of scale and economies of size. Moreover,
McDonalds was able to negotiate a reasonable price for high quality food products.
McDonalds failed to realize the changing trends in the casual fast food markets, as
a result of which, a large part of the market share was taken over by existing brands
like Wendy s and new players

Holocaust Essays. Revealing history ASU Now: Access, Excellence, Impact

  • 1. Holocaust Essays Writing an essay on the topic of the Holocaust is undeniably challenging and emotionally taxing. The Holocaust, one of the darkest chapters in human history, involves exploring the systematic genocide perpetrated by the Nazis during World War II. It demands a thorough understanding of historical events, the socio-political context of the time, and the profound impact on individuals and communities. Addressing such a sensitive and grave subject requires a delicate balance between factual accuracy, empathy, and respect for the victims. The research process alone can be daunting, as it involves delving into extensive historical records, survivor testimonies, and scholarly analyses. The emotional toll of absorbing the atrocities committed and the suffering endured by millions can be overwhelming. Crafting an essay on the Holocaust demands a nuanced approach to ensure that the gravity of the events is conveyed without sensationalism or trivialization. Navigating the ethical dimensions of the topic and acknowledging the human aspect while maintaining academic rigor adds another layer of complexity. Moreover, conveying the significance of the Holocaust in a way that fosters understanding and remembrance without inadvertently perpetuating stereotypes or misconceptions requires careful consideration. Striking the right tone is crucial to engage the reader while respecting the solemnity of the subject matter. In conclusion, writing an essay on the Holocaust is an arduous task that requires a profound commitment to accuracy, sensitivity, and ethical considerations. It demands a meticulous research process and a skillful approach to convey the historical significance without diminishing the human tragedy that unfolded. As challenging as it may be, addressing this topic is essential for preserving the memory of the Holocaust and learning from the past to prevent such atrocities in the future. If you find yourself needing assistance with similar essays or any other academic writing, various resources are available, including online writing services likeHelpWriting.net. • 2. Governments Censoring Internet Content This paper explores the pros and cons of government involvement in controlling the content of the Internet. Everyday technology is getting more sophisticated, meaning that nowadays it is easy to explore about a certain issue via online connection and be near the world. In the present, as long as you have Internetconnection, you have the ability to have access to all kind of information that is posted on Internet. There is a huge debate whether internet should be regulated or not, and this is excepted to continue in the upcoming years. Those who support the information epoch, tend to consider Internet to be essential and productive in educating its population. However, those who don t favor content on the internet want to build... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... According to Leatherman (1993), Freedom of speech meant not only freedom from any form of governmental control, but also freedom from private social pressures that could also inhibit thought and opinion . As long as people belong to a society, they have the right to be free form any governmental inference. The word itself censoring means limitation, which limits people ideas and imaginations. If for any reason government decides to censor some Internet media for offensive reasons then as Leatherman stated (1993), What may be offensive to one person may not be to another . This clearly explains that you cannot base your reasoning by making all people the same. As a matter of fact, parents are the one who should be more careful educating their children in order to not allow civil liberties to be restricted. The notion of censorship means that government decides what is good and bad for society, illustrating the power that they have. Conversely, the proponents argue that censorship is used to protect social norms. In other words, censoring means protecting people from harmful content which influences people s behavior. As long as, people have the right to post anything they wish on the Internet, they are incapable to think about consequences. They do not consider the surrounding how it might be affected, but they aim just their voice to be heard. Therefore, government, which deals with public policy, considers
  • 3. DHS Risk Assessment DHS enforces Homeland Infrastructure Threat and Risk Analysis Center. This center has made efforts to inject imagination into risk assessments through processes such as red team exercises. As a next step, there needs to be a systematic and defensible process by which ideas generated by red teams and through alternative analysis sessions are incorporated into the appropriate models and the development of new models (n.d., 2010). After 9/11 DHS put more time and money in coming up with ways to prevent risks and reduce the amount of damages caused by hazard/natural disaster. DHS plan is to reduce vulnerabilities or increase resilience for the long term. DHS recognizes that the use of generic attack scenarios (threats) based on today s knowledge
  • 4. The Market Entry of Starbucks into China The final project is going to be about the market entry of Starbucks into China. This project will focus on gauging the success of the company s market entry strategy thus far. Starbucks has announced in a press release that it believes China will be its #2 market by 2014, and the company has been one of the most successful American companies in that market (Starbucks, 2012). The company entered the Chinese market in 1999 with a store in Beijing. This followed the acquisition of greater knowledge about Chinese business culture through outlets in Taiwan. The company initially used a licensing agreement to enter the Chinese market (Starbucks, 2010). Since that point in time, the company extended its presence in the Chinese market in 2000 with a different licensee partner in Shanghai. In 2002, a third partner was added to help Starbucks expand into Shenzhen, two years after entering the Hong Kong market. Using these three major markets as a base, the company expanded from Shenzhen to Guangzhou and from Shanghai to Ningbo, Nanjing, Suzhou, Wuxi and Changzhou. By 2005, the company was ready to open its first company owned store, in Qingdao, an area of the country not overlapping with the existing licensee agreements. Over time, the company has increased its equity positions in some of the joint ventures, and it has also opened more company owned stores, and even bought back some stores. This topic was chosen because of the wealth of material available on it. Starbucks is
  • 5. Tupac Shakur Research Paper Tupac Shakur was born June 16, 1971 in East Harlem, New York City. His parents were Black Panther Party members Billy Garland and Afeni Shakur who was in prison for bombing charges while Afeni was pregnant with him. He was named Tupac Amaru, for an Incan chief whose name that means shining serpent. When Shakur was 13, he spent his earliest years in the Bronx and Harlem where he made his acting debut in a production of A Raisin in the Sun at the Apollo theatre benefit for Jesse Jackson s 1984 presidential campaign. He successfully auditioned to become a dancer and roadie for the rap group called Digital Underground and simultaneously worked diligently on his own music. He appeared in Digital Underground s This Is an E.P. Release EP in
  • 6. United States Of The Gulf Cooperation Council ( Gcc ) Qatar and other states of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) repeatedly face international critique regarding their treatment of migrant workers in construction and household services. Non governmental organizations (NGOs) and international organizations (IOs) are reporting abusive and unsafe working and living conditions while simultaneously trying to influence and mediate between Gulf Council Cooperation (GCC) governments, migrant workers, and civil society. GCC governments are attempting to implement labor policies to promote the hiring of local workers; this would reduce the supply of foreign labor, and possibly ensure adequate treatment of local workers. This reformation is dependent on the role of international government and non governmental agencies, and the possibility for these agencies to change local policies. This is taken in the context of growing global and local awareness about migrant workers and fundamental human rights abuses, including the human trafficking and forced labor currently occurring within Qatar s migrant worker population. International migration today is closely associated with state sovereignty. States would engage in international cooperation through a wide range of transnational issues, but when it comes to immigrants and refugees, nation states claim that the sovereign right to control one s own boarders to be the primary responsibility (Sasson 1996). Even if cooperation were recognized as useful or necessary, in properly managing
  • 7. Cases Concerning Fundamental Breach And Non Delivery 3.Cases concerning fundamental breach 3.1.Non delivery The failure of the seller in delivering the goods is almost always considered to be a fundamental breach. This could be exemplified by a decision of Hamburg arbitration award, whereby a seller from Czech and buyer from Germany disputed over an advance payment for the goods and delivery. The seller suspended delivery of the goods claiming advance payment, whereas, the buyer requested for avoidance of the contract due to non delivery. The tribunal held that, advance payment should not be a ground to suspend delivery, therefore, confirmed the request of the buyer to avoid the contract. Similar view has been held by an arbitration tribunal in China whereby, failure of the seller to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In addition, the type of goods to be delivered should also be taken into account when determining late delivery as a fundamental breach. For instance, in the case between Italdecor s.a.s v. Yiu s Industries (H.K.) Limited, the buyer claimed for avoidance of the contract and refund of the purchase price for the knitwear ordered due to the late delivery. The appellate court of Millan held that, although fixed after the contract was concluded, time was important as the goods were to be sold at the end of the year s sales. Therefore, the seller has committed fundamental breach and confirmed the buyer request of avoidance, restitution of the already effected payment along with interest. On another case involving summer cloths it was held that, a late the delivery by one day would not constitute a fundamental breach. Although, there seems to be a general agreement as to mere late delivery not amounting to fundamental breach; it still would be challenging to reach at a conclusion as to what accounts as mere and substantial late delivery in terms of days. 3.3.Non conforming goods Article 35 of the CISG deals with conformity of goods. It specifically obliges the seller to deliver the goods as stated in the
  • 8. The Realism Of Realism And Film The aesthetics of realism in each film can be utilized in many diverse ways to offer certain truths about the world of the film to further express the film s story. These theatrical elements emphasize what the film attempts to relay to the audience; moreover, it intensifies the authenticity of each aspect of the film. The use of real people, on camera interviews, textual information, and of direct address to the camera displays the realism of each film. Textual information is shown in This is Spinal Tap and Shut up and Sing in various parts of the movies and for different reasons. The first time textual information is presented in Spinal Tap is at the beginning of the film. As the band plays at the concert, the camera moves to each band ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... On camera interviews in both the films accentuate the films realism. In Shut up and Sing there is an interview in the beginning of the movie which took place after Natalie voiced her impolite comment about President Bush. This shows the audience that Natalie is in fact sorry she said what she had said but not sorry she had spoken up. Martie furthers her point by saying that their band would not be as eminent as they are now if Natalie restrained her outspoken attitude. Another example is when the Dixie Chicks are interviewed after the release of their new song Not Ready to Make Nice. The interviewer says that public opinion has changed much in the past three years and that Bush s ratings have gone down. Natalie replies that they were compelled to write their newest album. This shows the audience the band s determination to stick with their opinions and that Bush s support has decreased while the band s support has endured. In Spinal Tap, there are several instances in where the band is interviewed. It is relayed to the audience that several drummers that were once apart of Spinal Tap have all died under mysterious circumstances. This element, on camera interviews, is used to disclose some background of the band. Another example is when the lead singer of the band is interviewed after Nigel quits the band. David says that he will move on because Nigel leaving is no different than all the other people that have left the band. He also says

  • 10. The World s Wife Carol Ann Duffy Analysis The World s Wife is a collection of poems by Carol Anne Duffy published in 1999. Throughout Duffy s collection of the poems she represents women from history, myths and fairy tales, particularly those whose stories tend to be defined by men, or who have only a cameo appearance in male dominated scenarios. The Worlds Wife collection explores the themes of sexism, inequality and stereotypes, which women, sadly still face in modern society. In Duffy s collection some poems look at the story of the man from a womans perspective, such as the poem Mrs Aesop . Other poem s stories have been slightly altered like The Kray Sisters. At the end of the same sentence the speaker says you came at last at the edge of the woods. The full stop of this sentence further emphasises the speaker s childhood ending because the whole sentence of being innocent is coming to an end. This sentence also creates a lot of tension and excitement building up within the speaker, as she is stepping out of her comfort zone. Little Red continues on saying I made sure he spotted me. This line makes the speaker sound quite dominating as Little Red was demanding the Wolf to watch her. Already we can get a sense of reversed roles, as stereotypically men are seen as more dominating in relationships than woman, but it is Little Red who is dictating in their relationship. Little Red towards the end of the poem, after 10 years of their relationship describes it as year in, year out, season after season, same rhyme, same season. The constant repetition is an imagery how bored Little Red is with her relationship with the greying wolf and that she desires something new in her life, something more exciting. Also, the sibilance emphasises how irritated Little Red is becoming towards her partner, as the s sound mirrors the sound of an evil snake, linking to the next sentence when Little Red describes how she took an axe/to a willow to see how it wept. The effects of war as a theme in W.B.Yeats s Easter 1916 and An Irish Airman Foresees His Death Easter 1916 and An Irishman Foresees His Death are poems which were written by William Butler Yeats. Easter 1916 was written to relive the Easter Rising, an event which occurred in Ireland during Easter in the year 1916 to confirm its independence and national identity from British. An Irishman Foresees His Death was written as a tribute to Major Robert Gregory who had died while fighting for his country during World War I. Although both the poems focuses on war yet the perception viewed on war is different. Therefore, both of these poems will be compared with the consequences of war as the theme of the poem and based on the patriotic emotions... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For the perception of war in Easter 1916 it was a patriotic and collective force especially fighting for their nation. However, in An Irish Airman Foresees His Death, the Irishman though he was patriotic he makes war sound as though they had to go out of compulsion or was forced to go. Moreover the airman flew in the sky not only to fight but also to fulfill his desire. Those that I fight I do not hate, Those that I guard I do not love (Yeats, 1918). There is deep irony in this statement because Yeats says that those people who fight for his country and people are the courageous man whom the poet worships and he hates those people who always try to rule and make other people to follow them. This statement signifies Yeats hatred towards British country that conquered and ruled Ireland. Although they had positive thoughts towards Germany they were insisted to revolt against by the British. In Easter 1916, British colonized Ireland and harsh anti Catholic law were passed upon Irish people, that led to increase in Irish Nationalism and it let to revolt in. So in this context, Yeats is talking about the British for being too offensive and it makes the people wonder how many Irish people suffered and had been killed during World War I. Around thirty five thousand Irish died in the First World War among one hundred forty

The possibilities are endless as many things can be done and many doctors are foreshadowing them as possibilities. A future where having bionic eyes would make you superhuman? How? Well, light comes in different wavelengths and humans can only see the visible spectrum made of colored light. If a bionic eye could let us see the entire electromagnetic spectrum, from radio waves to gamma waves we d be able to see heat, identify types of gases by sight, and even look through walls. In a future of humans with a computer in their eyes bionic eyes will be an ongoing topic of the future. With a camera as an eye, humans will be able to do things like: zoom in and out like a camera lens, have UV vision, record what we see, and even automatically be able to sync it to the net with our Wi Fi connected eyes. This is all just speculation but there s no denying that this type of technology as innovative as it is, is going to turn science fiction into reality one day. In the series of short stories The Stories of Eva Luna, the author, Isabel Allende, incorporates the element of the past affecting the present into her plotlines. Affecting 400 million people in the Mediterranean and Africa, it is an inherited enzyme deficiency that is caused by a genetic mutation, where the body lacks a kind of glucose, specifically Glucose6 Phosphate Dehydrogenase (G6PD) in the blood. G6PD is prevalent in every cell of the body, especially in red blood cells, where it cleans up free radicals in the cells. More than 50% of the world s population lives in an area where Malaria is common. The first signs of malaria are fevers, chills, joint pain, vomiting, and anemia, and can lead to a coma or death. Scientist JBS Haldane once suggested that people with sickle cell anemia or thalassemia were naturally resistant to P. Falciparum, the malarial disease. G6PD is an even better naturally evolved protection against malaria. Researchers who studied the relationship of G6PD deficiency and malaria found that children with the G6PD A mutation had a resistance twice as strong as normal children to P. Falciparum. That s because Malaria, like many other diseases, prefer normal healthy red blood cells rather than G6PD deficient blood cells to multiply. Malaria is a delicate virus, and can only thrive is clean red blood cells. The G6PD deficient cells are not only less hospitable to the virus but die early which may disrupt the virus s lifestyle. At one point in time people recognized that eating fava beans would reduce their body s hospitability to Malaria, and thus evolved Favism disease which continues to serve the same purpose today. People who are only partially deficient (women) are much better off because not only do they get the malarial protection, but they also can ingest fava beans and medicine safely. This is why people of African and Mediterranean descent continue to develop Favism

The most viewable fallacy that used is within the speech is when he explains how if this country does not solve this problem, that American will continue to be tossed around in turmoil. The rose is usually a powerful symbol of love, it always has been, and portrays an everlasting beauty. However, a large group of scientists and philosophers such as Thagard (1978) consider that astrology is a pseudoscience, but there is a small amount of scientific evidence on whether if it is truly a pseudoscience or not. Some of them discuss that the psychological belief in astrology of oneself is the consequence of his or her desperation in finding solutions to their personal problems such as marriage and career which can somehow affect their life because of its psychological effects (Bennett, 1998). Besides, astrology is considered as an ancestor of modern science which is supported by two aspects of discussions (Thomas, 1971). A Development phase (that may consist of different iterations and technical reviews) in which technical solutions are defined, software coding is implemented, validation and verification activities are performed, requirements are traced and project plans are monitored. When completed, an end of development review is held with all project stakeholders to make sure that the software meets customer/market requirements with the expected level of quality. Then the software is delivered to customers and to the teams in charge of maintaining it, through an Acceptance phase. In that phase, Customers will check that the software meets its requirements and maintenance resources will make sure they have all items and skills to maintain the software. This phase is ended by an end of Acceptance review to officially transfer the software. Then, the software enters the Maintenance phase that may last for years, in which critical defects are fixed, if any. Those cycles are encapsulated in a general framework called Product Life Cycle (PLC) in which senior management make decisions on products. PLC framework is divided into two

Transcultural Literature And Contemporary World Literature Arianna Dagnino in her essay Transcultural Literature and Contemporary World Literature points out that with the denationalizing wave of globalization, even national literatures are under pressure to find new arrangements of form and content to adapt to a changed cultural and social paradigm. In other words, a mutation is under way within the global acumen of letters where new notions of belonging, as well as definitions of selfhood and identity are externalized through new creative artistic and literary processes. Within this emerging social, cultural, and literary scenario, scholars feel the urge to identify new relevant literary paradigms, especially when dealing with the so called New Literatures in English represented by the works of, say, Zadie Smith, Hanif Kureishi, Kamila Shamsie, Michael Ondaatje, or Joy Nozomi Kogawa or recently through Animewith its heavy borrowing of motifs from western canonised literature and its gradual popularity as an emerging form of literary creativity. When the Huns finally attack, it is Mulan who springs into action, dressing up her comrades as women. While they are not prettiest women, it is the perfect disguise to get the group into the palace, because women are able to move through society unseen, they are hidden because they are quiet and men to choose not to pay attention to them unless they are noticing their beauty. In the end Mulan saves the Emperor and all of China from the Huns, but it is not a male quality that saves the day. • 40. The Importance Of Revenge In William Shakespeare s Hamlet In the aftermath of the death of Old Hamlet, his brother Claudius is chosen to be monarch. However, the ghost of the dead king tells Hamlet that it was Claudius, Hamlet s uncle, who killed Old Hamlet, and tasks Hamlet with taking revenge; and in spite of such urgent motives and circumstance, Hamlet continuously delays the execution of his task. In William Shakespeare s Hamlet: Prince of Denmark, Hamlet s inner conflict and indecision lead to his inability to take action. Throughout the play, Hamlet s inner conflicts, often expressed as his melancholy and disgust, delay his revenge. In the first act, after everyone leaves the stage, Hamlet says in his soliloquy, How weary, stale, flat, and unprofitable / Seem to me all the uses of this world! (1.2.133 4). In A. C. Bradley s words, Hamlet, grieving over his father s death, feels disgust at life and everything in it (Bradley) and his melancholy is clear, for he also is longing for death (Bradley), due to the inner conflict that arises from his grief. Ironically, although Hamlet does not know his task yet, he loses the will to live, which is essentially the opposite of wanting to take revenge: for he cannot take revenge when he is dead himself. Another instance of Hamlet s disgust with the world is when he realises that his two friends Rosencrantz and Guildenstern came to see him to spy for Claudius. Hamlet says that the goodly frame the earth seems to [him] a sterile promontory [and the] brave o erhanging firmament,

Perhaps no school shooting shook the world quite as much as the Kent State shooting did, when the National Guard, thus the government itself, opened fire and killed four college students. In the wake of this tragedy, Neil Young came together with fellow musicians David Crosby, Stephen Stills, and Graham Nash to write and perform the song titled simply Ohio. This song, along with other war protest songs of the time, relayed the raw emotions felt in the wartime atmosphere and helped to shape and encourage public opinion of the Vietnam War. Crosby, Stills, and Nash came together as a music group in 1969, and later recruited Young to join. That year, the group played at the famed Woodstock festival, and in 1970 released their album DГ©jГ Vu, which would become known as one of the greatest albums of the early 1970s. Some of the most well known and best loved songs on this album were Carry On, 4+20, Helpless, Country Girl, and Teach Your Children, featuring Jerry Garcia on steel guitar. Unfortunately to fans at the time, the group did not stay together in its entirety for very long; before they split up, though, the release of Ohio would become perhaps their most recognizable song. They created a way to escape the real world, to pretend that the world was a nice place, so that society would relax or have somewhere to go to feel peaceful. Two amazing and well known artists that alter reality are Salvador Dali and Alex Andreev. Dali s well known surrealism art works appeared in the late 1920 s and are iconic for this period. Well at least that what I heard, one of my friends that moved to California confessed to me that the reason he moved was because he loved In N Out Burger s. But as I began to read I found more than five devastating problems that the Snyder family encountered as pioneers of the fast food business. The first thing that is easy to identify is that the difference between story and plot is clear. This movie is not told in chronological order which makes it easy to identify the clear distinction between story and plot. The lack of chronological order is first evident in the way the movie starts. It starts with the death of Kane instead of his birth. On the other hand, some aspects of the movie are told in chronological order such as the investigation into the meaning of Rosebud. This contrasts Kane s life which is told out of chronological order. The investigations present the plot of the movie while the life of Kane presents the story of the movie. This makes the movie great because it creates a unique combination of plot and story that makes the movie unique and interesting. Citizen Kane is also narrated through a series of setbacks. These flashbacks include Thatcher s notebooks, Bernstein, Jeb Leland, Susan Alexander Kane and Raymond. Susan s interview takes place earlier in the movie but he only gets to hear her story until the end. This interview takes the form of a flashback. The use of flashbacks enriches the plot of a movie. However, flashbacks must be prudently used to ensure that they do not end up confusing the viewer and weakening the plot of the film. Another unique part of the narrative structure is that the
