Editor's Notes

  1. MSSL 3.0 We’ve been listening to your requests around MSSL, doing multiple focus groups/reviews/market touches, and we’ve applied all your feedback to create MSSL 3.0!
  2. The 3 things you asked us to address, we’ve done the following to improve: Registration simplified – only 1 Topical MSSL; streamlined ease of entry Navigation obvious – call things what they are; organize intuitively; include ‘just in time’ learning/resources that are ‘student approved’ and vetted Assessment more/better – pre and post test; questions for each feature-video, practice, activities; time on task with CCNG; big-picture – its scalable now
  3. MSSL 3.0 coming May 1 st . Modules demo of Time Mgmt for now. The Language you use to demo and what you show is IMPORTANT. There is a Clickable demo coming. This is how the contents look in the Study Plan . The NUMBER OF QUESTIONS ALWAYS SAYS 40 (which is the total available for each topic—20 pre and 20 post). Course contents are in alphabetical order; we added 2 modules on Professionalism and Critical Thinking.
  4. This is the Time Mgmt Pre-Test start.
  5. This is what the Time Mgmt Pre-Test looks like.
  6. Here’s your Topic Overview organization; we’re going to shorten the ‘wordiness’.
  7. The Video Interviews is now labeled, with a time stamp, and reflection opportunity (spell check and point value included).
  8. Here’s a Practice 1 example, Level 1-2 of Bloom’s. There are 2 Practices within each topic now.
  9. Practice allows for students to have a self-paced experience that isn’t isn’t graded but does show ‘time on task’.
  10. The are 2 Activities per topic now. Think of it as ‘Practice and Activity’ (not graded vs. graded) or ‘practice and play’ as a sports analogy (you’ve got to practice before you play or ‘pass the test’). Here’s an Activity (graded, but Study Plan is graded focus). Level Bloom’s 3-4.
  11. Journaling is now an Activity. Instructors and students will be able to easily find it and assess on it.
  12. Journal included instead of separate, and does flow into the grade book now.
  13. Now, you’re back at your list of topics or contents in the Study Plan and ready to take the Post-Test Diagnostic .
  14. It’s time to take your Time Mgmt Study Plan Post-Test .
  15. The Study Plan Post-Test allows students to make a strategic connection to the material.
  16. You’ll love the 3 changes we made to the Student Resources tab! Added Student Facebook page – reviewed well with PSAB. Added FinishStronger247 YouTube channel – refined search of videos vetted ‘by students, for students’. Added MySearchLab.
  17. This is what MySearchLab looks like. It helps students learn how to gather information for research.
  18. This is the FinishStronger247 YouTube channel we created. We have been collaborating with students for “best of” how to videos and explanations that hit home…And are available on our main navigation panel & as a channel in each topic.
  19. Instructors and students are using YouTube – why not give them relevant content within MSSL? Play video.
  20. What questions do you have on MSSL 3.0?
