Franqie Chan Jia Yi wrote about her unsuccessful weekend trip to her secondary school to find a book for her English assignment. She was unable to find her old English teacher who may have had the book. Her junior did not recognize her when they passed in the hall. She spoke to other teachers but was unable to locate the book in the school storage due to it being an old book. Her friend helped her search but the book was not found.

Story Of My Weekend
Wednesday, my English lecturer has given us an assignment. She asked us to look for a
book and read it, after that make a new book cover for it with our creativity. The first book came
to my mind is – Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. This is my favourite book in my secondary school, so I
decided to go to my secondary school and look for this book.
During weekend, I went to school because there is a school replacement during that day.
When I walked into school, the guard stopped me because she need to know the reason why I am
here for safety reason.
After that, I went to look for my secondary English teacher to ask if she still own the book
or not. Nonetheless, I was so unlucky. The teacher was having a class when the time I reached. I
find a place to rest.
My junior passed through where I sitting. She can’t recognize me. When I called her name,
she just realizes I am there. What a sad case for me because she is my best junior in the school
but she can’t recognize me. She said I wearing a cap look like a boy so doesn’t know that I am
her senior. When I listened to her I felt so disappointed. How I wished to find a wall and bang to
it. Such ashamed.
After that, the bell rang. I walked toward the classroom of my English teacher. Through the
way she speak to me, she seem like doesn’t remember me. She told me that the book already
very old, very hard to find in the school as the syllabus changed twice for a couple years. She
asked me to look for the teacher who in-charged the books.
As I can’t find the teacher, I went to my friends classroom and wanted to ask my friend to
help me. When I reached the classroom, they are having mathematics class, some of them don’t
have class because they didn’t take that subject.
The Mathematics teacher was my Chemistry teacher, he is a very friendly teacher, when he
saw me quickly make fun of me and my friends were also laughing at me, what a shame day for
me. But I still happy because the teacher still recognize me. After that, I asked teacher

2. permission to “borrow” his students (my friend). My friend told me that the teacher was in the
basketball court in-charged the recycle event, so we went down together to look for the teacher.
When I reached there, I asked the teacher if able for me to look for the book myself in the
book storage. She said it is quite hard to find it as it is a very old book, around 5 years, most of
the books already sent to recycle but there are still some due to some students returned the book
late.
Due to the reason she is not free to look for the book, I asked my friend to help me take
from the teacher as I need to go back to Petaling Jaya to study. What is unfortunate day for me,
everything gone wrong.
The next week I back, I ask my friend to give the book to my mother because I didn’t go
out. As the worker at my mother office, she will throw the thing from the letter box because
some of the villagers like to throw rubbish inside. So I asked her to write my name.
Unexpectedly, she wrote my name and with a sentence “this is not rubbish, don’t throw it” when
I see the word, I laugh out loudly without second thought. What a cute friend I have.
