MY TARGET AUDIENCE
COLDPLAY
• Coldplay are an alternative indie band, sharing similarities with my artist, as Homeshake is also an alternative indie creator.
• The demographic for Coldplay’s music is people between the ages of 13 and 18. However, in terms of the demographic of
those who go to Coldplay concerts, they are popular amongst 20-30 year olds. Both demographics are male and female.
• In terms of the 13-18 year old demographic, the common lifestyle of it includes going to school and usually one passion.
The demographic is too wide to get into detail about what the passion is, as everyone is unique. However, in terms of
school life, the age of 13-18 is usually a time where people start to experience love and relationships; which most of
Coldplay’s song tend to cover. Of which suggests why they are so popular. Song such as ’Yellow’, ‘The Scientist’, and ‘Fix
You’ all talk about love etc. creating a relatable bond between the audience and the band.
In terms of the demographics for my music video, I’d like it for people of the ages between 13-18 to be the most fond of the
video. This is because, like Coldplay, the video explores ideas about love and relationships etc. of which I believe that the
demographic will really be able to relate to. And if they can relate to the video, a bond will be created, increasing the
popularity of the video. Below is an mood board of the things that my target audience like.
Hollister and supreme represent the sort of clothing my target audience wear, as
at the age of my target audience, teens have a common tendency to wear the
most popular and expensive clothing to fit into their society.
The apple logo represents the technology that my
target audience uses, mainstream technology. My
demographic looks to buy products for the badge
on the back, rather than the actual function.
Due to the rise in technology social media is
massive across the demographic. It’s popular
amongst it, as it’s used to communicate and
connect friends together in many ways. It’s most
popular with my demographic due to its easiness
to use.
The Nando’s logo is an insight into the sort
of restaurant my target audience goes to.
Nando’s is commonly associated with the
younger generation, as it most popular
amongst them. Not only is it a place to get
food, but it’s a place for friends to socialise.
The album covers do not specifically identify the
genre of music all my demographic likes, but it does
represent the idea that they like the conventional,
popular, materialistic artists. Whether it be through
preference or just to fit in.
