Claude Monet Essay
Crafting an essay on Claude Monet can be both a daunting and rewarding task. The difficulty
arises not from a lack of information or inspiration but rather from the vastness of Monet's
contributions to the art world. As a pioneer of the Impressionist movement, Monet's life and
work span a broad spectrum of artistic achievements, from his early struggles to his later
triumphs.
Researching Monet's life requires delving into the intricate details of his personal and
professional journey, understanding the evolution of his techniques, and unraveling the
influences that shaped his artistic vision. The challenge lies in sifting through the plethora of
resources, from biographies and critical analyses to the vast collection of his masterpieces, to
distill the essence of Monet's genius.
Moreover, expressing the impact of Monet's art on the art world and its enduring significance
demands a nuanced approach. Describing the interplay of light and color in his paintings, the
innovative brushstrokes, and the evolution of his style over time requires a keen eye for detail
and a profound appreciation for the nuances of art history.
The task becomes even more intricate when attempting to contextualize Monet within the
broader art movements of his time, examining the sociopolitical landscape that influenced his
work, and exploring the relationships with his contemporaries. Balancing the exploration of
Monet's individuality with his interconnectedness to the larger artistic tapestry presents a
formidable challenge to any writer.
In the end, writing an essay on Claude Monet requires not only a deep understanding of art
history but also the ability to convey the richness of his contributions in a coherent and engaging
manner. The challenge, however, is met with the reward of unraveling the layers of Monet's
artistry and presenting it to readers in a way that captures the essence of his brilliance.
For those finding the task overwhelming, assistance is available. Similar essays and a wealth of
academic writing on various topics can be ordered on HelpWriting.net, offering support and
guidance in navigating the complexities of essay writing.

Abstract: It is important to understand the consequences of elevated light on the
reproductive process of kidney beans. The main objective of this research work is to
determine how light affects the seed germination in plants. Through our research we
concluded that the seeds that were kept in dark were more germinated than the ones
that were exposed to light. On bases of p value we can say that there is a significant
difference in seed germination in light and dark condition.
Introduction: In today s world, people use kidney beans in their diet. Scientifically
they are known as Phaseolus vulgaris (common ... Show more content on

you to hydrate the vermiculite.
Once vermiculite is moistened put kidney beans in the starter tray in pairs such that
each small compartment has two kidney beans in it. Make sure you push them well,
but also don t bury them under the soil.
After all kidney beans (36 per tray) are settled in the tray, cover one starter tray with
opaque aluminum foil and the other with the transparent plastic wrap. Attach
clothespins to the side of the large plastic tray to support the covering. Make sure
that both trays have access to adequate air supply. After you are sure that you

Summary Of Nathaniel Hawthorne s The Blithedale
Romance
America s inception stemmed from the desire to create a society which differed
from those before it. By taking the best pieces of previous civilizations, the
founding fathers strived to create a perfectly formed society based on equality, a
balance of power, and the independence of man to pursue their own dreams.
Literature of this period and more specifically the 19th century often deals with
experimentations on this very basis for society. Does one favor the individual over
the community or ignore the personal desires of the individual in favor of a collective
mindset? Experimenting with the makings of a utopia, defined by Merriam Webster
as, a place of ideal perfection especially in laws, government, and social conditions
creates a serious question on the plausibility of a perfect society. Dealing with this
very quandary first hand, Nathaniel Hawthornes The Blithedale Romance is an
experimentation on forming a perfect utopia. Within the novel, the desires of the
individual are squandered in favor of the collective. In reading Hawthorne, one gets
the sense that the world is just out of reach for him. Attaching a mysticism to
everything detaches the characters from any sense of reality, meaning that any
experiment they set out on should be met with suspicion. Whereas in Henry David
Thoreaus Walden, Thoreau places the individual on a higher plane than the
community. Going into the woods, Thoreau detaches himself from society in a far
different manner than Hawthorne, with
The Usage Of Tzu s Leadership Strategy Of Preparation
And...
After a devastating lost, barely scrubbing off stains of red paint, I decided to make
a change in our actions during the call of duty that will give the battalion a win on
future combats. According to the some polls that used the spectator popular vote
our pinball team had the biggest chance of taking home the five thousand dollar
prize from the tournament. Even though our team had the more skilled player than
all of the other competitors combined. We still managed to lose. After that, I decide
to do some research, and now I am convinced that the usage of Tzu s leadership
strategy of preparation and pathos will cause the team to win the most tournaments.
As a leader, one needs to understand that the best way to persuade people into
anything is by appealing to their emotions. After countless losses my compatriots
are losing hope and by losing hope they also lose faith in my leadership. For this
reason, for them to believe in my leadership, I would use pathos by making a speech
with vivid stories with very descriptive wording and emotional emphasis, it creates
the emotionof belonging. At some point during the story, I would reveal to the team
how preparation is going to help us win more. I could go into further detail of how
the speech would be structured, or what kinds of stories tell them but it would be too
long and irrelevant. Just imagine a speech influenced by the infamous Ronald Regan
s speech on fighting the evil, and also influenced by the advertisement one sees on
The Bad Image Of Black Athlete
The bad image of black athlete is one of the most important problems today. African
American athletes are not that different from white athletes; however, media betrays
a bad image of them for some unknown reasons. Our world is full of the great African
Americans who showed incredible result in professional sport. On one side, a lot of
African American athletes in the limelight right now come from nothing to
somewhat. On the other side, there is a negative connotation that all African
Americans have is sports because they are not educated, all they have is natural talent,
and all they want is to make the money and not do anything to get there. Television
today is often concentrated in stereotype filled African Americans sitcoms, television
news is often shown in negative or crime based stories about black athletes, music
music videos profanity, misogyny, hard, thugged out. The image is terrible and the
reason for that is that media in general just looks at the negative too much.
To begin with, African Americans have undergone decades of discrimination and
racism, and despite the numerous powerful changes, which have progressively
worked to propel equality for African Americans; the residue from their
discrimination still exists in the crevices of our society today. In most cases, media
is one of the main sources people become aware of what is going on in the world.
That is how we become informed about African Americanathletes in general. It
works in

The book revolves around the solution to the longtime problem of figuring longitude,
especially at sea. Every Ship s captain was utterly lost every time they sailed far
enough to lose sight of the land. With no way to determine what their longitude was,
they were literally wandering around until they bumped into something; hopefully
their desired destination. The British Parliament enacted the Longitude Act which
offered a pile of money, ВЈ20,000 to be exact, for a viable solution to the problem.

Ships were supposed to be placed in the middle of the ocean and would signal the
time and the traveling ships would hear the signal and be able to set their clocks by
it. Challenges of this method were plentiful. Keeping the ships anchored would be
quite a chore in the middle of the ocean. Manning the ship would be another huge
challenge that would have to be overcome. This method got a good initiative, bad
judgment call and, not for lack of effort, never made it to the testing
The Hawksbill Sea Turtle And The Sea Turtles
The Hawksbill Sea Turtle is one of seven species of sea turtles that inhabit the
ocean. Their scientific name is Eretmochelys imbricata and they belong to the
cheloniidae family. The hawksbill sea turtles are named for their hawk like beak.
They also have a carapace with an overlapping pattern of scales that form a jagged
edge along the shell. They are found mainly throughout the Atlantic, Indian and
Pacific oceans. According to the national geographic, they tend to avoid deep
waters and prefer coastlines where they can feast on sponges and with sandy
beaches close by for nesting. According to the U.S Fish wildlife service of North
Florida, the Hawksbill sea turtlealso like to swim around rocky areas, coral reefs,
lagoons, shallow... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Not only are they poached specifically for their shell, but also for their meat for
consumption of humans but also to be used as shark bait for fisherman. According to
the National Wildlife Federation, many sponges and small animals consumed, are
toxic. The hawksbill body fat absorbs the toxins without making the turtle ill, but
their meat is potentially poisonous to humans (National Wildlife Federation). The
IUCN also states that Hawksbill Sea Turtles are also sought out for their hatchling
eggs.
The next cause for decreasing hawksbill population is the loss of habitat.
Degradation such as pollution being introduced to the oceans including untreated
sewage, exhaust, trash, chemicals such as pesticides and fertilizers, industrial and
powerplant emissions and oil spills make their way into the water and the natural
environment for this species and all ocean species that break down and destroy the
ecosystem that they use to survive. Habitat destruction is also a factor that is a risk
to this species chance of survival is human filling in wetlands and rivers to build for
businesses and residential. Development for tourism is destructing nesting habitats
for this species as well as all sea turtle species.
Entanglement and ingestion of fish line and fishing nets is another cause for fatalities
in the Hawksbill sea turtle species. Water craft strikes also contribute to injuries and
fatalities amongst this species.

ABSTRACT The Radio frequency identification (RFID) technology has been broadly
adopted in access control systems. This technology is based on the use of a card or
tag and has some major drawback or weaknesses that is anyone could get access
when he or she steals the card. In this particular paper, the RFID technology is

The RFID technology consists of three key elements: RFID tags, RFID readers,
and a back end database server to identify information. The RFID tag stores its
particular ID and some application data for RFID readers thus the tag contains
electronically stored information which is used for access control system. The
major advantage of using the RFID tag is that it allows convenience contactless
access. However, the traditional RFID based access control system identifies an
individual only by means of his or her RFID card that is anyone who presents a
registered RFID card will pass the authentication even he/she is not the genuine card
holder or owner. Moreover, there are many RFID attacks which are:
Sniffing this is reading data from a RFID chips without being given a permission;
Spoofing this is the cloning of information from one chip to another
Tracking this involves the tracking of goods or services without acknowledging the
owner.
Denial of Service this involves the jamming of RFID signals to block its normal
Examples Of Dual Federalism
Federalism was originally meant to divide the power of state and federal government
within the United States, protecting rights of the state level governments and
preventing a majority from receiving total control. Federalism has existed in many
ways over the course of American history. The balance of influence between state and
federal government has had many shifts. Dual federalismis explained by how the
constitution originally outlined federalism. National government dealt with our
foreign policy, commerce and national defense, the states were left to individually
deal with economic and social issues. This was effective in insuring the needs of
smaller groups of citizens from being ignored and unfulfilled. The flaws with this
system arose... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If state and federal government reach an agreement on goals to improve the
economy the state would be provided federal funds to reach this goal. The
construction of interstate highways, states constructed highways using federal
funds and standards is an example. States turned their policies to the federal
standard in order to receive restricted treatment when funds were distributed. States
choose to comply with a federal drinking age or speed limit policy in order to
receive funds. Grants were now offered for a greater area of policies. Grants began
to be handed down to smaller units of government taking power away from the state
governments. Leading to problems concerning management, cooperation, and
accountability. President Nixon attempted to fix this by compacting small grant
programs into larger consolidations, for the state to decide on. By the eighties
President Reagan corrected federal spending, his goal was to alleviate the power
that the federal government possessed. He implemented tax cuts and rises to lower
the availability of grant in aid programs, in order to return power to the states; this is

Iran-Iraq War Essay
Iran Iraq War
The eight year Iran Iraq War was, by the standards of international conflicts, a very
long one. It lasted longer than both World War I and World War II. In this conflict,
the two most powerful states in the Persian Gulf, Iran and Iraq, who were the world
s largest producers of petroleum, were locked in mortal combat and appeared intent
on destroying each other. The war began when Iraq invaded Iran, simultaneously
launching an invasion by air and land into Iranian territory on September 1980 and
ended with a United Nations brokered ceasefire in 1988. The causes of the war are
deeply rooted in the ideology and ambitions of the leaders of the countries to gain
and maintain control over internal and regional politics, as well ... Show more content

Moreover, what had formerly been the Imperial Iranian military was greatly
despoiled, with much of the officer corps fleeing the Islamic Revolution. Also
radical Marxists were still battling the religious fundamentalists in part of the
country. Because of all of the above factors, Iraq had a uniquely promising chance
to strike a devastating blow at its eastern neighbor, establishing Saddam as the pre
eminent leader in the Persian Gulf region and perhaps so discrediting the new
Iranian government as to bring about its ultimate downfall.Saddam also wanted to
put an end to religious propaganda directed against Iraq s secular regime by the
Islamic government of Iran, which had come to power in 1979 under Khomeini.
Khomeini, and during the Iranian Revolution, and most Iranian Muslims belonged
to the Shiite sect of Islam. Hussein feared that the propaganda would undermine the
loyalty of Iraqi Shiites, who comprised about 60 percent of his country s
population. On March 1980, Saddam received a pretext to engage in war when an
assassination attempt was made on Deputy Prime Minister Tariq Aziz, by Iranian
backed rebel group Al Dawaa, followed by the bombing on the funeral procession.
Saddam blamed the Iranians and attacked in September. Before declaring war
Saddam, in a statement addressed to the Iraqi parliament, on 17 September, stated

The Golden Years Are The Typical Societal Perception...
The golden years are the typical societal perception of adequate finances, good
health and spare time that offers older people the opportunity and freedom of
enjoying a phase where life is lived to the full (Barnes, 2011). This notion is rather a
misconception, appertaining predominately to the financially secure minority who
have always lived with relative ease. In comparison, the lifelong rigours of those
less fortunate tends to result in them being one of society s most vulnerable through
succumbing to age related problems, particularly frailty, physical and mental
impairments. Hindered with low income, poor support networks and deteriorating
health at an earlier age, life for a growing number of older citizens increasingly
lacks quality, revolving around loneliness, pain and misery (Norton and West, 2014).
Living with substantial difficulties commonly brings the sensation of life existence ,
signified with the loss of independence, visibility, control, dignity and self respect
which arises from being reliant upon others to meet basic needs (Martinsson et al,
2012). The multitude of debilitating factors, termed identifiable risks , have the
power to create various types of suffering; from neglect and the inability to self care,
to subjection to abuse from rough treatment inflicted by others. Regardless of how
harm manifests the consequences are limitless damage to individual s overall
wellbeing, from possible mental health issues like depression through loss of
The Development Of Mathematical Psychology
Psychology established into a mathematical discipline through a series of events
during history. This establishment led to the development of mathematical
psychology; a field encompassing empirical methodology (Benjafield, 2015).
Furthermore, through the implementation of math in psychology, findings from
previous and current studies of psychologyinfluenced the plethora of knowledge
available today directly impacting society s understanding and application of
psychological phenomena. This is articulated through mathematical ideas originating
from the ancient Greeks, which inspired further research in the field abundantly,
throughout the past three centuries(18th to 21st) (Benjafield, 2015). Specifically, ideas
from Euclid in ancient Greece inspired Gustav Fechner to develop mathematical
concepts in his formation of psychophysics (Zudini, 2011). In the 18th century,
arguments regarding the implementation of math in sciencewere becoming a common
query. The field of psychometrics began during this period and early psychologists
like Ernst Weber began developing relationships between mathematical concepts
(Benjafield, 2015). During the 19th century, Gustav Fechner developed his field of
psychophysics and inspired several future psychologists to continue his work and
develop their own ideas of mathematical psychology (Benjafield, 2015; Robinson,
2010). Developments in this field instigated the notion of using experimental
psychology during World War I, and the 1950s 1970s

Case One: Stone v. Graham Supreme Court of the United States 449 U.S. 39
In this case, petitioner private citizens filed a suit against the superintendent of public
schools in Kentucky, James Graham. Sydell and a number of other parents
challenged the Kentucky state law requiring the posting of the Ten Commandments
in every public school classroom. Each plaque would be purchased with private
contributions and would have that statement, The secular application of the Ten
Commandments is clearly seen in its adoption as the fundamental legal code of
Western Civilization and the Common Law of the United States. The private citizens
claimed that the statue violated the First Amendment and sought an injunction
against its enforcement. The state supreme court held that the statue s purpose was
secular and it would neither advance nor inhibit any religion or religious group nor
involve the state excessively in religious matters. On appeal, the United States
Supreme Court held that the statue had no secular legislative purpose and was,
therefore, unconstitutional. The purpose for posting the Ten Commandments was
clearly religious due to the fact that they are sacred in the Jewish and Christian faiths,
therefore violating the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment. This particular
case will support my argument by confirming that hanging up items on school walls

A Rose For Emily Decline Essay
A Rose for Emily: Decline Although Emily Grierson who is from a respectable
family is a tradition, a duty, and a care, she is nowhere near respected. In A Rose
for Emily Miss Emily drastically declines in respect of her authority and has near
term mishaps along the way which has many eyeing the future for more. Miss
Emily s funeral is seen as more of an excuse for the whole town to see her house
and belongings, an excuse for the men and women to enter her house and to see
her laying in that casket which indeed is the only way to see her house. The town
did respect her at some point but that respect grew to pity and hate and cornered
Emily into the brink of insanity. She didn t pay taxes on purpose all because of

The townspeople reported the smell multiple times and four men were finally sent
to her house to sprinkle lime around her home, in the cellar, and in all the out
buildings without Miss Emily s consent. If the townspeople were to have left the
smell be without taking action it could have caused a bigger riot, sure the
townspeople intruded her home without permission but it was something that had
to be done. The town started feeling sorry for her but also vindicated because Miss
Emily is now thirty years old and still single. Her father restricted her from going
anywhere near men that were of lower status which implicated her to give up. She
had nothing left except the house. Then she met Homer Barron the man many
people were hoping she would marry but were doubtful because he was a playboy.
Miss Emily was seen buying clothing for him but no one was aware that that
clothing was for his future funeral. She started going crazy and the townspeople
weren t happy nor worried about her they just pitied her. She bought arsenic for
rats signifying that Homer was the said rat. Miss Emily lost not only her self
awareness but completely lost her respect for herself and anyone trying to get close
to her. So he died. Homer Barron was found dead with the clothes Miss Emily had
bought him hanging and a silver strand of her but his
The History Of Iran
Imagine driving down a sandy desert highway with the smell of Arabian foods in
the air. Your nose picks up the scent of mint, basil, dill, and parsley. You re in Iran,
a country that is known for its Arabic culture and wonderful food. Today, Iran is
largely on the news for being a supporter of terrorism. However, there is a lot more
to the country of Iranthan that. In fact, the history of Iran dates back centuries.
Brief History Iran is in the Middle East bordering the Gulf of Oman, the Persian
Gulf, and the Caspian Sea. It is located between the countries of Iraq and Pakistan.
Until the year 1935, Iran was known as Persia. Then in 1979, it became an Islamic

Because of the war in Iraq, Iran took a huge hit on its tourism revenues. However,
the country has recently begun to improve in that area. Iran has begun to see about
five billion foreign visitors each year. Most of these visitors come from Asian
countries. Only about 10 percent of their tourism comes from Northern American
citizens. It s most popular destinations for travelers are Isfahan, Mashhad, and Shiraz
(Khamenei, 2011).
Iran has one of the largest natural gas reserves in the world. In fact, they are ranked
second in the world behind Russia. It is also ranked fourth in the world in oil
reserves. Because of this, 45% of their economic income comes from energy.
However, they are so inefficient in their production of natural gas and oils that they
imported $4 billion in oil in 2005. Because of its nuclear program, the United
Nations placed economic sanctions on Iran that has majorly affected its economy.
However, as of 2015, many of the major sanctions have been removed and Iran s
economy is slowly recovering (Holliday, 2011).

Iran is ninety nine percent Muslim. The other 1 percent consist of mostly Christian,

Automotive in America
America is one of the biggest buyers of cars in the world. With great distances to
cover in rural land and impressive salaries spend on cars in places such as New
York City or Beverly Hills, there is always a market for domestic and international
car manufacturers. The market has changed a lot in the last 10 years, and that is why
we will both look at the provided automotive industry analysis from 2004 and go into
the current landscape. We will look at the history of the American auto market and
see the changes since 2004. We will determine how the market is divided in the
current market and what global competition is prominent. We will continue by
looking into new inventions in the auto industry and what effect car emissions have
on innovation. Finally, we will look at what the consumer looks for in a new car in
the current market.
Competition and Market share
Unlike other countries, Americans are very loyal to domestic brands. General Motors
held the dominating share in 2004 (Highfill, Baki, Copus, Green, Smith Whineland,
2004) and does so still in 2014 with 17.8% market share (Statista Statistics, 2015).
Right behind General Motors is
Ford, another domestic manufacturer with 14.9% (Statista Statistics, 2015). Finally
continuing to the number three sales expert, Toyota with 14.4% (Statista Statistics,
2015). This makes America very different from the global top manufacturers, where
Toyota stands on top with 11.6% of the global market share, followed
The City Of Key Biscayne
A city that is known for its diverse culture, up and coming neighborhoods, and eye
catching building designs, should believe to have everything. In the city of Key
Biscayne, a place that caters to the public that incorporates physical activities into
their lives, and has a way to enjoy doing it at the same time is nonexistent. If
inspirations that come from past designers, one specifically who has unique design
characteristics, architectural landmarks, built to give visual opinions, and
surrounding elements, that may be viewed various ways, is combined, it should
transform into a design that can capture the traits and ideas of each aspect. By

The museum has changed people s perception of museums, about the connections
between art, architecture, and collecting. (Freshome). Admiring the Architect,
Frank O. Gehry, and how he would not just design, but how he would blend
previous designs with his own and create a building made his work unforgettable.
Taking a design that was once used for events, now abandoned and derelict, and
reinventing its potential to be used by all to enrich their lives and provide a social
and content atmosphere is a goal of attaining. It will be something extraordinary to
redesign a building and mix existing features to make a new design that everyone
can appreciate. Instead of downplaying the 110 year old building, S T made
enthusiastic use of the old timber floors, brick walls and open trusses, celebrating
heritage alongside contemporary design. (Arch Daily). No matter what materials,
space, or structure is being used within a design, in the end, it is always about the
creativity for its achievement. Creativity is about play and a kind of willingness to
go with your intuition. It s crucial for an artist. If you know where you are going
and what you are going to do, why do it? (Freshome). Capturing memories and
expressing them into a design that tells a story that has never been told is what
makes this project, inimitable; it cannot be special if it was heard or seen before.

Planned Parenthood is an organization dedicated to fighting for women s health and

The two organizations would eventually merge forming what is now Planned
Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA). The incorporation of Planned Parenthood
leads to the Medical Association officially recognizing birth control as an integral part
of medical practice and education (History and Success, 2015). This leads to the
development of several different types of birth control contraceptives. In 1948,
Gregory Pincus, an American Scientist was giving a small grant from Planned

This contraceptive pill would lead the way for many women the around the world

Essay On Transgender In The Military
a.Currently there s a major debate about transgenders and their right to serve in the
military. Many transgender individuals bring with them well documented mental and
emotional issues that require a serious commitment of time, money, extended
therapies, and trainings. Coupled with a very public and open battle with suicide are
all reasons why transgenderindividuals should not be allowed to enlist in the military
at this time.

e.The ability for a military member to perform in a critical situation is real. Whether
in a combat zone or maintaining order in a maritime capacity a solider or sailor will
be required to carry out lawful orders and must have the ability to operate in the most
stressful of environments while having a clear head. According to Dr. Paul R.
McHugh, the former psychiatrist in chief for Johns Hopkins Hospital and its current
Distinguished Service Professor of Psychiatry said that transgenderism is a mental
disorder that merits treatment. Dr. McHughs states that prolonged stress and anxiety
can cause inflammation in the brain and an inability to think or act clearly in critical
situations.
f.The transgender community experiences an unusually high suicide attempt rate of
90% and a suicide rate of 40%. These numbers along with Dr. McHughs mental
disorder diagnosis show a small glimpse of the ongoing stressors and emotional
distress that transgenders deal with. The extremely high rate is concerning and can t
be overlooked. When compared to the 3% suicide rate that the military experiences
and 1.5% national average it s easy to see that the stress, anxiety, and emotional
distress in the transgender community is great and could greatly affect their ability to
think clearly and respond appropriately
Willy Nus Sublime
How do artistic depictions of technology and industry in paintings reflect the aesthetic
concept of the Sublime? The sublime is used to describe things that inspire awe or a
feeling or emotion. Artistic depictions of the industrial worker are commonly used to
depict the sublime. The sublime is an aesthetic concept that originated in Western
society during the Classical Age. It has been defined and discussed by historical
figures such as Edmund Burke, Immanuel Kant, and Longinus. The sublime describes
something that is inimitable or possesses a quality that inspires awe or overwhelming
emotions, such as terror, and is commonly depicted in industrial work that depict hot

The artist Willy Nus displays the sublime in his painting Transporting Large Heated
Workpiece, which he completed in 1910 (TГјrk, 2003, p. 196). Nus work shows
several men pushing and pulling a cart on rails carrying a hot steam workpiece
from inside the preheater unit. The painting s emphasis is on the hot glowing steel
workpiece and the open furnace, both of which illuminate the workers as well as
most of the background. The workpiece s terminus is the forge hammer, which
appears to be steam powered because it creates large clouds of steam that fill in a
portion of the background. Also, the sublime is artistically depicted by the German
artist Leonhard Sandrock in his work At the Forge (TГјrk, 2003, p. 195). The
painting shows men using a forging press that is capable of producing workpieces
that weigh anywhere from five to fifteen tons. The forge press is reducing the size
of a large, smoldering, glowing workpiece. The workpiece is being held off the
ground by two chain loops that are attached to pulleys, which are supported by two
service cranes (TГјrk, 2003, p. 195). The painting s emphasis is directed to the
glowing workpiece by the workpiece being brighter than its immediate surroundings,
which creates contrast and draws the viewer s attention to
Comparing Summerland And Once More To The Lake
The two essays I have chosen to compare are Peter Jon Lindberg s Summerland ,
and E.B. White s Once More to the Lake. In these two essays both authors talk about
their experiences that started when both men were young (child and teenager) and
evolved into a vacation spot that would become home for many summers. Each essay
describes both the similarities of their summer trips from past to present and the
differences of their trips as well.
In White s essay in the first paragraph he talks about the good ole days when he was
just a kid going to the lake with his dad. He talks about how this lake was one of a
kind and there were no other lakes like this one in the world. White expresses his
love and desire for this vacation ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
From a young age he knew he loved this lake and knew that he wanted to return
every year. On the contrary when Lindberg was a teenager and first introduced to
Pine Point, he says he wouldn t have necessarily chosen it to be the place where he
vacationed. After he experienced it one summer, it was home. He says this
vacation spot lured him back every year just as it did for White. Lindberg still goes
to this spot every year with his wife, where as in White s essay he is just revisiting
the place he once called home for a month.
One of the themes of both of the essays is not the change of scenery or location, but
the content that lies within these locations. In Lindberg s essay he talks about his
annual vacation to Pine Point, Maine. This vacation spot of his has been in his life
for a number of years. In the years Lindberg has gone to Pine Point, he refers to the

The Brief Wondrous Life Of Oscar Wao
Junot Diaz s The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao, set in the late 1900 s, tells a
story of Oscar Wao, an overweight Dominican ghetto nerd , his mother and
rebellious sister who live together in Paterson, New Jersey. Throughout the novel
Diaz incorporates many different stories about each character that show acts of
resistance. One of the most prominent stories of resistance in the novel is through
Oscar s mom; Beli, who is prompted by great tragedy, known as the Trujillo curse, to
love atomically and thus follows a dangerous path. Beli s familyhistory plays a large
role in her choices that eventually compel her into a different life than what her
adopted mother, La Inca, had wanted for her.
Beli resisting La Inca portrays her downfall, because Beli makes choices against La
Inca s desires that will harm her. She is unaware of her history and background of
the Abelard family, other than the fact that La Inca continuously tells Beli that her
father was a doctor and her mother was a nurse. Abelard Luis Cabral was Oscar and
Lola s grandfather, the man who said something bad about Trujillo, thus eventually
sending the fukГє curse down to Beli. Diaz writes In those long days before
delincuencia and bank failures, before Diaspora the Cabrals were numbered
among the High of the Land (211). The Cabral s held a high place in society, but it
was not until Abelard Cabral upset Trujillo that he was sentenced to the curse of

Du Fu was one of the greatest poets of China. Living during the Tang Dynasty, a
golden age for literacy, poetry, and the civil service examination, Du Fu flourished
as a poet. Although he was a civil servant for a great part of his life, it was not until
the An Lushan Rebellion, which began in 755, that Du Fu s career as a poet really
began. Because the aesthetic behind his poetry was history and morality, Du Fu used
the war and all bad that was around him to become a great poet and influence many

The Training Of An Army Basic Training Failure
Growing up the daughter of an Army Basic Training failure was an embarrassment
for quite some time. My father went to Basic Training straight out of high school,
came back shortly after leaving. He was discharged for injuries of his knees; he
was weak. One would not assume a child of someone who failed Basic Training
would be eager to go, however, I knew it was my time when I received a call from a
recruiter asking me to come in. It was my chance to show my dad who I am
without him, as well as fight for my country. I conquered Basic Training the
summer in between the end of my junior, and the start of my senior year, at the age
of seventeen. Even with the extra motivation, Basic Training was no easy task.
There are four steps to Basic Training: two flights, reception, training, and
graduation. May 31st, the day my family and I had been waiting for, ship day. I woke
up at 3:30 a.m. to fly to Missouri. I left with two other people: Boone and Hiple.
Boone was 18, he had graduated from high schooltwo weeks prior to shipping out for
Basic Training. He would go straight through Basic and onto Advanced Individual
Training (AIT); while both Hiple and I will go through Basic. Then next year, to
continue our journey in the U.S. Army, the two of us, accompanied by others, will
leave for AIT. That morning a recruiter dropped us off at the airport, our families
came back with us through security and waited with us for our flight. I was of course
stopped through security,

Analysis Of The Gilded Age
New Spirits is a major text in Gilded Age historiography because Edwards
encompasses social, political, and economic history, weaving them together into a
cohesive narrative. Critics mention her lack of footnotes (but are quick to point out
that her extensive for further reading sections help to balance this) and that her
emphasis on cohesion may be overstated. Edward s thesis is that the Gilded Agewas
not a patently bad time in American history, but that America underwent tremendous
change, ushering it into what has laid the groundwork for the modern nation.

Tv Show Satire
Final Paper Rough Draft
Auston Collins Ever since their inception in the early 1930 s, television programs
have revolutionized the United States in countless ways. From informing millions
about current news to allowing sports fans to watch their team playing across the
country, television has truly been one of the most revolutionary inventions of the past
century. More recently, televisionprograms have begun to comment and take a
position on current events. In particular, satire has been very common, as it uses wit
and irony to critique certain aspects of society. One show in particular, It s Always
Sunny in Philadelphia, frequently uses comedic satire in its episodes. The program
follows four unethical, lazy friends that own an unsuccessful bar outside
Philadelphia. Due to the gang s frequent premature judgments and twisted views,
they often find themselves in troubling situations that only get worse before they
begin to get better. Through the particular style of television this show uses, the
viewer is able to laugh at how senseless its character s actions are in order to
highlight certain social issues. The Gang Gets Racist episode of It s Always Sunny in

Analysis of Rick Grimes Actions in the Walking Dead Essay
Disoriented , the one word Rick Grimes uses to describe the moments he has been
through before reuniting with his family. In a world driven into a apocalypse,
filled with the undead and anarchy, everyone s will and faith are tested. One will
either be changed for worst or for the better. This essay will analyze the actions of
Rick Grimes, present my ideas if I were in Ricks position, and to answer for the
actions of one more character. Both Rick Grimes and his actions are moral and
unselfish. Rather than being self centered, Rick puts his life on the line to protect the
group and his family with the best of his ability. The well intentioned actions and
selfless motives of Rick is evident in these three examples. In the early events of...

This rescue maybe an example of Rick s selfish way of redeeming himself and
leaving his family, but Rick grasp this moment, with the intention of retrieving the
bag guns as well. With more ammunition and weapons brought back to their camp,
the higher their chances of surviving will be. Unfortunately, a group of Latino gang
members beat down Daryl and abduct Glen to their hideout. Rick and the others
also take one of the gang members. This leads to a confrontation with the gang
leader who proposes a trade off, Glen for their captured member, together with
Rick s bag of guns. Instead of leaving Glen, Rick chooses to accept the deal. He
remembers the time in the tank, where Glen radioed him a path out from the horde
of walkers. Glen could have left Rick to die out there, but he choose to rescue him.
Again, Rick chooses to act unselfishly. Rick, together with T Dog and Daryl head
back to rescue Glen, even if the trade off might end in a shootout. Once, a former
police officer, Rick s choices and decisions does get influenced by such a role. Like
the three examples earlier, Rick has taken a police officer s duty of serving the
community, sacrificing himself for the protection of others, and to work as one unit
in a struggle into this dangerous world. Sympathizing for Merle, risking it all for
Glen, and brining together this group prove to show the shadow of a police officer
still resides with Rick in this apocalyptic atmosphere. As
Analysis Of Susan Sontag s Article On Photography
Bicky Lenh Vabiana Santos Option 2
In the essay On Photography written in the 1970 s, author Susan Sontag states that
photographs really are experience captured and the camera helps us put ourselves into
the relation of the photographs. The practice of photography gives us assurance by its
accurate relation to reality than any other devices. Sontag sets many insights that still
exist in today s photographic society, but it has been modernized into our generation
of photographic technology. As Sontag asserts that photographs are a tool that we
rely on when we are in doubt of something. During 1871, the camera became a useful
tool for controlling surveillance. (167) Today store owners set up video cameras to
prevent robberies, shoplifting, etc. We have included this practice to serious matters,
such as using photographs in courts to prove innocence, and taking photos at crime
scenes to record clues for investigation. Furthermore, it has worked in favor of the
public. One recent news that demonstrates this is the UC Davis pepperspray incident.
Students were seated, protesting on the pavement on campus. Police then pepper
sprayed the students after asking them to leave. The video of the police officer
pepperspraying the students went viral on the internet. As soon as the incident was
happening, many students quickly pulled out their camera phones and started
recording. It allowed the students to capture the abuse of police authority and
resulted them
The Conflicts Of Characterization In SophoclesAntigone
On the surface of Sophocles Antigone, readers may assume the conflict between King
Creon and Antigone, related to Polynices burial, is trivial. However, upon closer
examination, the dispute between the characters delve deeper into the conflict
between the laws of heaven and the laws of men. Despite standing on opposing sides
of the argument, the conflict highlights similar characteristics between the two.
Sophoclesexplores this type of human behavior in Antigone, through the use of
indirect characterization, to show that when individuals with differing beliefs face
one another, conflict emerges as a result of similar minds.
Sophocles initially utilizes indirect characterization to highlight self centered qualities
between King Creon and Antigone when encountering other characters. After Ismene
denies Antigone s proposal of burying Polynices, Antigone states, [Share] To all the
world! Else I shall hate you more (Sophocles 129). Here, the playwright s approach of
indirect characterization is to label Antigone as a narcissistic character by
implementing a negative speech, revealing how those who do not share her beliefs
are against her. Sophocles continues to utilize the word hate to acknowledge how
Antigone detaches herself from her sister, regardless of the fact that Ismene is only
trying to save her from death. Additionally, this human nature is further emphasized
through the voice of King Creon when Haemon pleads to reason with him to not
execute Antigone.

Claude Monet Essay. Claude Monet Impressionism Claude Monet

  • 1. Claude Monet Essay Crafting an essay on Claude Monet can be both a daunting and rewarding task. The difficulty arises not from a lack of information or inspiration but rather from the vastness of Monet's contributions to the art world. As a pioneer of the Impressionist movement, Monet's life and work span a broad spectrum of artistic achievements, from his early struggles to his later triumphs. Researching Monet's life requires delving into the intricate details of his personal and professional journey, understanding the evolution of his techniques, and unraveling the influences that shaped his artistic vision. The challenge lies in sifting through the plethora of resources, from biographies and critical analyses to the vast collection of his masterpieces, to distill the essence of Monet's genius. Moreover, expressing the impact of Monet's art on the art world and its enduring significance demands a nuanced approach. Describing the interplay of light and color in his paintings, the innovative brushstrokes, and the evolution of his style over time requires a keen eye for detail and a profound appreciation for the nuances of art history. The task becomes even more intricate when attempting to contextualize Monet within the broader art movements of his time, examining the sociopolitical landscape that influenced his work, and exploring the relationships with his contemporaries. Balancing the exploration of Monet's individuality with his interconnectedness to the larger artistic tapestry presents a formidable challenge to any writer. In the end, writing an essay on Claude Monet requires not only a deep understanding of art history but also the ability to convey the richness of his contributions in a coherent and engaging manner. The challenge, however, is met with the reward of unraveling the layers of Monet's artistry and presenting it to readers in a way that captures the essence of his brilliance. For those finding the task overwhelming, assistance is available. • 3. Summary Of Nathaniel Hawthorne s The Blithedale Romance America s inception stemmed from the desire to create a society which differed from those before it. By taking the best pieces of previous civilizations, the founding fathers strived to create a perfectly formed society based on equality, a balance of power, and the independence of man to pursue their own dreams. Literature of this period and more specifically the 19th century often deals with experimentations on this very basis for society. Does one favor the individual over the community or ignore the personal desires of the individual in favor of a collective mindset? Experimenting with the makings of a utopia, defined by Merriam Webster as, a place of ideal perfection especially in laws, government, and social conditions creates a serious question on the plausibility of a perfect society. Dealing with this very quandary first hand, Nathaniel Hawthornes The Blithedale Romance is an experimentation on forming a perfect utopia. Within the novel, the desires of the individual are squandered in favor of the collective. In reading Hawthorne, one gets the sense that the world is just out of reach for him. Attaching a mysticism to everything detaches the characters from any sense of reality, meaning that any experiment they set out on should be met with suspicion. Whereas in Henry David Thoreaus Walden, Thoreau places the individual on a higher plane than the community. Going into the woods, Thoreau detaches himself from society in a far different manner than Hawthorne, with

According to the some polls that used the spectator popular vote our pinball team had the biggest chance of taking home the five thousand dollar prize from the tournament. Even though our team had the more skilled player than all of the other competitors combined. We still managed to lose. After that, I decide to do some research, and now I am convinced that the usage of Tzu s leadership strategy of preparation and pathos will cause the team to win the most tournaments. As a leader, one needs to understand that the best way to persuade people into anything is by appealing to their emotions. After countless losses my compatriots are losing hope and by losing hope they also lose faith in my leadership. For this reason, for them to believe in my leadership, I would use pathos by making a speech with vivid stories with very descriptive wording and emotional emphasis, it creates the emotionof belonging. At some point during the story, I would reveal to the team how preparation is going to help us win more. I could go into further detail of how the speech would be structured, or what kinds of stories tell them but it would be too long and irrelevant. Just imagine a speech influenced by the infamous Ronald Regan s speech on fighting the evil, and also influenced by the advertisement one sees on

Our world is full of the great African Americans who showed incredible result in professional sport. On one side, a lot of African American athletes in the limelight right now come from nothing to somewhat. On the other side, there is a negative connotation that all African Americans have is sports because they are not educated, all they have is natural talent, and all they want is to make the money and not do anything to get there. Television today is often concentrated in stereotype filled African Americans sitcoms, television news is often shown in negative or crime based stories about black athletes, music music videos profanity, misogyny, hard, thugged out. The image is terrible and the reason for that is that media in general just looks at the negative too much. To begin with, African Americans have undergone decades of discrimination and racism, and despite the numerous powerful changes, which have progressively worked to propel equality for African Americans; the residue from their discrimination still exists in the crevices of our society today. In most cases, media is one of the main sources people become aware of what is going on in the world. That is how we become informed about African Americanathletes in general. It works in

In comparison, the lifelong rigours of those less fortunate tends to result in them being one of society s most vulnerable through succumbing to age related problems, particularly frailty, physical and mental impairments. This establishment led to the development of mathematical psychology; a field encompassing empirical methodology (Benjafield, 2015). Furthermore, through the implementation of math in psychology, findings from previous and current studies of psychologyinfluenced the plethora of knowledge available today directly impacting society s understanding and application of psychological phenomena. This is articulated through mathematical ideas originating from the ancient Greeks, which inspired further research in the field abundantly, throughout the past three centuries(18th to 21st) (Benjafield, 2015). Specifically, ideas from Euclid in ancient Greece inspired Gustav Fechner to develop mathematical concepts in his formation of psychophysics (Zudini, 2011). In the 18th century, arguments regarding the implementation of math in sciencewere becoming a common query. The field of psychometrics began during this period and early psychologists like Ernst Weber began developing relationships between mathematical concepts (Benjafield, 2015). During the 19th century, Gustav Fechner developed his field of psychophysics and inspired several future psychologists to continue his work and develop their own ideas of mathematical psychology (Benjafield, 2015; Robinson, 2010). (167) Today store owners set up video cameras to prevent robberies, shoplifting, etc. We have included this practice to serious matters, such as using photographs in courts to prove innocence, and taking photos at crime scenes to record clues for investigation. Furthermore, it has worked in favor of the public. One recent news that demonstrates this is the UC Davis pepperspray incident. Students were seated, protesting on the pavement on campus. Police then pepper sprayed the students after asking them to leave. The video of the police officer pepperspraying the students went viral on the internet. As soon as the incident was happening, many students quickly pulled out their camera phones and started recording. It allowed the students to capture the abuse of police authority and resulted them
  • 44. The Conflicts Of Characterization In SophoclesAntigone On the surface of Sophocles Antigone, readers may assume the conflict between King Creon and Antigone, related to Polynices burial, is trivial. However, upon closer examination, the dispute between the characters delve deeper into the conflict between the laws of heaven and the laws of men. Despite standing on opposing sides of the argument, the conflict highlights similar characteristics between the two. Sophoclesexplores this type of human behavior in Antigone, through the use of indirect characterization, to show that when individuals with differing beliefs face one another, conflict emerges as a result of similar minds. Sophocles initially utilizes indirect characterization to highlight self centered qualities between King Creon and Antigone when encountering other characters. After Ismene denies Antigone s proposal of burying Polynices, Antigone states, [Share] To all the world! Else I shall hate you more (Sophocles 129). Here, the playwright s approach of indirect characterization is to label Antigone as a narcissistic character by implementing a negative speech, revealing how those who do not share her beliefs are against her. Sophocles continues to utilize the word hate to acknowledge how Antigone detaches herself from her sister, regardless of the fact that Ismene is only trying to save her from death. Additionally, this human nature is further emphasized through the voice of King Creon when Haemon pleads to reason with him to not execute Antigone.

Y9 Radioactivity Research Assessment Medicine Y9 Radioactivity Research Assessment Diagnosis Radiation in medicine helps medical tests allow doctors to see inside the body, so doctors can diagnose, and treat conditions for humans and animals. Some tests expose ionizing radiation which put patients at risk, could cause death. Sterilising Gamma rays which are high energy electromagnetic waves that can only be stopped by thick lead, this means they can pass through medical equipment because they aren t made of lead, such as syringes. When gamma rays pass through packaging they inactivate viruses and kill bacteria. If the equipment stays in a sealed plastic bag it will remain sterile. Treatment Radiation treatment is the most common therapy/treatment for cancer. Its users high energy particles such as X rays to destroy cancer cells. Killing the cancer cell, radiation treatment is also called radiotherapy, irradiation, or X ray therapy.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This can be used by performing X rays or Gamma rays. Both are electrostatic radiations. Tracing a tracer is a chemical compound, where more atoms have been replaced by a radioisotope so by its virtue radioactive decay it can be used to explore mechanisms of chemical reactions by following the path that the radioisotope follows from reacted products Gauging This is a tool used in petroleum (petrol) industry, also mining also archeology purpose. It consists of radiation which emits a cloud of particles and a sensor that counts received particles that are reflected by the test material or pass through the middle of it. Radioactive dating Radioactive dating is a technique used to work out the date of materials like rock and other objects based on their decay rate. In which trace radioactive impurities were selectively incorporated when they were formed. Currently over 300 natural isotopes are
