Censorship Of The World Wide Web
We live in the age of information, a world that has now been largely digitalized. The World Wide
Web is the central component of our era, as it allows people across the globe to share and receive
information in an instance. It used to take months before a letter from China could reach the U.S,
now it just takes a second with E Mail. This fast pace information processing has allowed human
society to move forward with unprecedented speed, but it also raises many concerns for government
authorities. Sharing information is a powerful tool, and too much of it will make any government
nervous.
Censorship of information has had a long history throughout the world. In ancient China for
example, censorship was considered a legitimate instrument ... Show more content on

That is a 718% increase compared with the 757 items that Google had to remove in the six
months prior (Suter). Dorothy Chou, a senior policy analyst at Google wrote in her blog post, It
s alarming not only because free expression is at risk, but because some of these requests come
from countries you might not suspect Western democracies not typically associated with
censorship. Other countries can also send in requests to Google and ask them to take things down,
but Google rarely complies with those requests. Being a U.S based company; Google has
complied with 93% of the government requests from our own government authorities. It only
complied or partially complied with only 24% of such requests from Canada, and 44% from France
(Sutter). The numbers are significantly lower, which shows that Google is clearly under more
pressure by the U.S government. Other nations like China and Russia have completely banned
Google all together.
These data suggests that the U.S government also actively monitors the World Wide Web
, George
Orwell s worst nightmare. The U.S. government has even gone as far as to ask Google for data
on its users more than 31,000 times in 2012 alone. Google said that they ended up turning over at
least some data in every single case (Quain). However, some have argued that these monitoring isn
t all that bad. Censorship to some extent, as some would argue, is to

What Are Richard Feyman s Major Accomplishments
Tyler Swanbeck
3/5/17
Physics
Mr. Jennings
Richard Feynman Richard Feynman is heralded as one of the greatest physicists of all time. This
is mainly because of his achievements in the fields of quantum electrodynamics, and other works
while being a theoretical physicist. Feynman was also able to be recognized as one of the leading
figures in the U.S. atomic bomb program, and received many awards during his lifetime; most
famously the Nobel Prize in 1965.
One of Richard Feynman s most notable achievements was his achievements in remaking modern
day quantum electrodynamics. Quantum electrodynamics is the theory of interaction between light
and matter. Feynman did this by fixing previous mistake that he found in the overall understanding
of the entire theory. The outcome of his work helped other understand such a complex theory
through Feynman diagrams. These diagrams ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He was able to contribute to the project with the vast knowledge that he had gained through his life
works. He was able to contribute by determining critical masses involved with creating the bombs.
He also was able to invent the Bethe Feynman formula that allowed scientists/physicists to calculate
implosion efficiency. Also, he was able to calculate neutron equations that provided the needed
knowledge to create nuclear reactors.
Feynman was also able to become a world renowned teacher. He first started his career at Cornell as
a physics professor. Later, he then became a professor at Caltech, and his lectures were widely
listened to because of his achievements in the field of physics. Feynman recieved another
achievement in the field of physics called the Oested Medal, but it was now in the field of
teaching. This proved that Feynman was one of, if not, the greatest physicists of all time because
he was able to achieve great feats in both the world of physics as a physicist and as a

Analysis Of The Poem The Daughter Of The Dancers
The Virtue Of Innocence
Innocence is a glorified trait in nearly any culture around the world. Many strive to keep the
innocence they are born with, and plenty others spend a lifetime attempting to regain the innocence
they have lost with age. In the following photos, innocence is a common theme, which each
photographer approaches in a unique way. There is a dull and unsettling truth behind the innocent
demonstration of young ladies acting much more mature than their age. Manuel Alvarez Bravo is
one of the premier figures of modern photography and the main photographer among the immense
Mexican artists of the twentieth century. In The Daughter of the Dancers, Bravo illustrates the idea
of youthfulness on the verge of loosing its innocence. Sally Mann, a photographer from the 1980s
90s, caught a reflection of grown up moves inside the innocence and youth of adolescents in Candy
Cigarette through her utilization of organization, field point, and technique. In 1985 National
Geographic photographer Steve McCurry went through Afghan towns concentrating on the
evacuees and recording their hardships. The Afghan Girl is a classical image of lost innocence; the
girl was forced to grow up way to fast. Her innocence did not survive, but she did.
The innocence of children is secured by the individuals who adore them with the goal that they
grow up as actually unaffected by preventable undesirable contributions as could be expected under
the circumstances. With her back to the camera,

Historical Aspects Of Ancient China
As with all oracular processes, chance remains a pivotal aspect of divining the future. The use of
divination in the context of Ancient China is a way of explaining the unknown. Known in the
Western sphere as The Book of Changes, the Yijing/I Ching conversely known as Zhouyi is a
document that was incepted during the Bronze Age for the purposes of divination. The contents of
the Yijing holds sixty four short chapters, each consisting of three elements: a hexagram, a
hexagram statement, and six line statements. The hexagrams are drawings of six parallel lines,
some whole and some broken. The two kind of statements...explain the mantic value of each
hexagram and each line. The creation of the hexagrams were attributed to Fuxi, a ruler... Show more

The following line statements that accompany each individual line can also give further insight as
to whether the person asking the question will be successful in their endeavors. Though according
to Rutt, though its indications are sometimes appropriate to the theme of the lines, the hexagram
statement does not summarize the theme of its line statements, and in most cases has no thematic
connection with the...and cannot be said to provide a general summary of the hexagram s
meaning... Even if the divination process selects the same hexagram for varying situations, it does
not guarantee that they will all have the same outcome of success or failure. The Yijing is rooted in
mathematics; the basis of the hexagrams were inspired by nature, which can be debased to
mathematical equations. 2 to the power of 6 equates to the number of hexagrams within the
document (64 total). Since numbers to the power of 2, together with multiple symmetries, turn up
everywhere in mathematical and physical structures, Chinese scholars found no difficulty in
applying the 64 hexagrams to everything from the structure of crystals to the solar system.
Hexagrams were also discovered to have relation to binary by William Leibniz. Hexagrams in the
Fuxi order, if written with 0 for the broken lines and 1 for the whole lines, and with the bottom line
at the right, gave the binary

The Monkey s Paw Essay Thesis
If one has everything he desires, why ask for more? In the passage, The Monkey s Paw, by
W.W.Jacobs, it makes clear that sometimes wanting more comes with a well effect. In this dilemma,
The White family inherits a monkey s paw that modifies the nature of the family. Therefore, the
general theme of the story is to be cautious in hunger for things because it may come increased with
unexpectancies. To commence, the White s conformed and made an inane wishfor two hundred

Reflection Of Chemistry
Dr. Adriana, we need 70 mL of ethanol, I said confidently after computing the dilution factor
needed for an immunohistochemistry experiment. This was my first time using the molarity
formula in real life. When I first learned this formula, it had little significance because I never
had to use it. That was the way most things were to me regarding science; I was bombarded with
formulas and equations to memorize with no intention of actually using them. While I was told
that I was good at chemistry and was able to work hard and do well in the class, it was not until I
sat in a real medical researchlaboratory that my passion for chemistry began. It was quite the
adjustment for me; the answers to my questions could not be found in a book. I soon realized that
memorizing formulas would not suffice; I needed a way to visualize intricate ideas on the
subatomic level. But this is what made me love the experience the challenge. Everything we did
used chemistry concepts but took it a step further. The goal was not to get the right answer; with
each step we were closer to a solution for patients struggling with cancer. This topic hit home to me
because it felt as though I was personally leave a touch on lives of each person I knew who the
disease had affected. Through working for a purpose greater than just myself, I found a new love
for chemistry.
Chemistry is a very challenging field of study and would provide the obstacles needed for me to
grow as a student and young adult.

The Goal By Alex Rojo
The Goal, story circles around Alex Rojo, the manufacturing and production plant manager at
UniCo and the challenges he faces to save his plant, which is on the brink of shutting down. He s
given 3 months time to turn around the dying manufacturing plant. Alex is torn between
professional and personal life issues, and novel does excellent job depicting the protagonist s
struggle to save his plant and his marriage.
He struggles to find a way to cut his costs, improve his production and shipping times, without
getting rid of employees. The company faces many constraints, which are described as a limitation
or restriction. It becomes seemingly obvious as the story goes on that the goal of the employees
was all wrong.

They can achieve this a number of different ways, whether it be to increase net profit, increase
return on investment and cash flow, or other means. As long as the end goal is to make money. He
must learn how to put his operations into those terms to reach his goal.
He decides he needs to find Jonah once again to get some more mentoring. Jonah shares three terms
that will help him run his plant: throughput, inventory and operational expense. Everything can be
classified under one of these terms. While in the midst of all of this turmoil, the plant had robots
that were taking over some of the production jobs. Alex realizes, after his talk with Jonah, that
these robots did not help to save money, but in fact increased costs, operational expenses, and
were less productive. The robots were implemented, which increased costs to do so, however
they did not reduce other costs like direct labor. They shifted labor to other parts of the plant.
Now the challenge is how they are going to take care of the robots issue without lowering
efficiencies? Alex decides to visit Jonah again. Jonah tells him he has got it all wrong.
Alex takes some time to reflect once again during his Boy Scouts trip. A balanced plant is not the
answer Alex is looking for. This will only decrease throughput and increase inventory and operating
expenses. While on a hike, Alex realizes he understands the concept of dependent events. He takes
the slowest kid (Herbie) and puts him in the front of

Myth #1: People Who Use The Internet To Date Are Losers Who Can t Get a Real Date This is

industry was a scam, someone would be plastering it everywhere? Online Dating Myth #3: It s

charge, and how you don t feel that you should pay just to connect with other singles... well, you
do have to pay for a membership. And then you basically get access to connect with millions of
other single users! Finding a traditional date costs, too, you know. Going to a bar will cost you a
drink, going on a blind date will cost you a meal, and even just meeting someone at a completely
random place costs you some amount of money. Don t be fooled into thinking it s free! Plus, let
s say you go on two dates with one person. That s $40 a meal, $80 for both dates, plus $10 in gas
for both dates, $20 for a movie for the first date, $35 $50 for the second date at the mall, the
beach, an amusement park... you re looking at $150, at the very least, for just two dates! Being
able to connect and get to know hundreds of new people is worth a little bit of your money and
the fact that you have to pay often wards off scammers who just want to take your money, and
fake profiles. So, What Have We Learned? If you take nothing else away from this, remember:

The Pros And Cons Of Commodification In Football
Football, America s sport, which is loved from high school all the way to professional level of
the game, has evolved significantly over the years to becoming as big of an entertainment
spectacle as it has as well as becoming increasingly competitive over the years that it has been in
session. With the very first football gamebeing played between Rutgers and Princeton to Peyton
Manning making a touchdown pass that was recognized by the World Record Association in the
game against the 49ers, a spectator can tell the difference between not only skill and the technical
aspects of the game, but between the love for the game itself. It has created a very huge fan base
that has in turn, created many rivalries amongst the fans on which of the teams... Show more content

It has had a lot of positive effects on how it has evolved throughout the years. It has created a lot
of job opportunities for many people, as well as given chances to people to be remotely involved
and engaged with fantasy football. However, along with these pros comes a few cons. Even
though fantasy football has its positives to it, it also has its negatives. When people get too into
it, they start betting on it and start to not care about the players that are involved. This leads to
the next point that players have started to form a mentality of no pain, no gain . They play
through pain and injuries, whether it be for fans wanting their favorite teams and players to do
well or that their love of the game has gone too far to a point that they do not care how bad their
damaging their bodies. The commodification overall has had a good impact with some downsides
to it. Another downside would be that some fans do not even notice that these players are getting
hurt and some do not even care just as long as the game remains the entertaining Sunday tradition
that they have taken part in since they were

George Orwell s Down And Out Of Paris And London Essay
Poverty in 20 century is further discussed and analyzed. People rarely consider that the poverty is
caused by economic inequality; income not divided evenly, and class structure in the USA
becoming like a fat jar with small base. With the growing concern of poverty, people begin to think
whether American Dream still exists in this country. However, the povertyphenomena is gradually
being changed. In contrast to modern society, the working poor nowadays have better condition
than the situation that described in the book of Down and Out of Paris and London. During the
Orwell s period, he described the dehumanized working circumstances as a plongeurs. Although
poverty in 20st century remains, the situations that the working poor face actually become much
better compared with 1930 s Paris. That is, comparing to the old days, in contemporary society, the
working poor get helps from government, and are empowered by both the government and
themselves, and receive the helps from philanthropic organizations.
Comparing with Orwell s period and contemporary, the working poor are no longer with no right
and exploited by capital since the government gets involved to protect their right. In reading of
Down and Out in Paris and London, Orwell narrates the working situation of working poor: the
cook s working hours were from eight in the morning till midnight, and mine from seven in the
morning till half past twelve the next morning seventeen and a half hours, almost without a

How To Legalize Marijuana In Canada
Marijuana This is an issue that is concerning many Canadians today, as the newly elected
government wants to legalize marijuana. Many parties such as the conservative party are very
opposed to this and many are not quite sure like the NDP. There are arguments for both positions
on this topic, such as if this will create drug addicts, kill people if legalized or if it can benefit
Canadas economy and the people living here. My mind has changed on the topic of marijuana. I
used to be strongly opposed to the thought of the legalization but now I agree more with the
Liberal party of Canada and think it should be legalized. When I did the research for the Who

Most of the leading four parties of Canada are pro gun control (NDP, Green party and the Liberal

that the second amendment allows you to have one. I do not agree with the conservative party
at all. I think there should be no guns at all, if there are no guns there are no mass shootings.
Although there are many people who need guns for safety like police officers, they should be
allowed guns for protection but be checked to make sure they have no homicidal tendencies. It is
now known that 31,328 people died from gun violence in 2010, or roughly 1 every 17 minutes. If

Women s Rights Is The Fight For Equality
Women s rights is the fight for the idea that women should have equal rights with men. Over
history, this has taken the form of gaining property rights, the women s suffrage, or the right of
women to vote, reproductive rights, and the right to work for for equal pay. Women were
conditioned to be treated like second class citizens solely because of their gender until a crucial
movement in American history during the late nineteenth century that would inspire a long fight
for equality for generations to come. The American women s movement was a tedious yet
extraordinarily important movement that challenged the social norms of a patriarchal society for
their own recognition. Overall, this paper will discuss the importance of women s labor... Show

First Women s Rights Convention was held in 1848. Approximately 300 activists meet in Seneca
Falls, N.Y., to plan on how to achieve women s suffrage nationwide. Partakers, including Lucretia

the Declaration of Independence, which calls for equivalent treatment of women and men under the
law and voting rights for women.
The main organizer of the Seneca Falls Convention was Elizabeth Cady Stanton, who is deemed as
one of the most important people that made an important change in women s rights. Stanton drafted
the Declaration of Sentiments, Grievances, and Resolutions, that related to the Declaration of
Independence. We hold these truths to be self evident: that all men and women are created equal.
Among the 13 resolutions set forth in Stanton s Declaration was the goal of achieving the sacred
right of franchise (History, Art and Archives). They stated the injustices and discrimination that
women had to face with, they wanted the United States to adopt laws that protected the rights of
married women, granting them the right to own property in their own name, keep their own

The Gospel Of Mark Essays
Jesus Christ lived a very full, if short, life. He did and accomplished more in his thirty years than
many men do in twice that. The gospels each tell their versions of his life. Of the four, I found
the gospel of Mark to be the most interesting. I enjoy the style of writing in this gospel more than
the others. I feel it gives a better summary of the events in Christ s life. Whereas the other gospels
tend to get bogged down with parables or spend too much time on specific events, the gospelof
Mark moves along at a good pace and adequately gets the message across. A majority of Mark
deals with Christ s travels throughout the area around the Sea of Galilee and the various miracles
he performed during that time. Most of these involved... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is a beautifully written passage. Without coming out and saying, it, Christ makes it
apparent that it s not enough to merely worship; one must also go out and preach to the unsaved
and try to help them see the light. Another parable tells of the rich young man who asks Christ
how he may attain the kingdom of God. Christ asks if he as followed the Ten Commandments,
and the young man says he has. Then Christ tells him that he has to give all his possessions to
the poor because he will have no need of such things in Heaven. This saddens the young man
because he has many possessions. After the young man left, Christ told his disciples that it is
difficult for the rich to get into Heaven because they put too much faith into their riches. It is
easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom
of God, (Mark 10:25). This is a poignant message. Christ then says that a man who gives up
everything for his faith will be well rewarded in Heaven. This parable is timeless. It speaks of the
downfall greed can force upon you. In the end, no matter how much you have, you can t take it
with you. One of the most widely told stories of Jesus is written in Mark. Upon visiting the Temple
in Jerusalem, Christ finds it is overrun with merchants and moneychangers. Enraged, Jesus
overturns the tables and calls the temple a den of thieves. This angered the priests and scribes of
the city,

Indian politicians believed that the objective of the policy for women s development should
consist of a shift of attitude from one of compassion and welfare to that of treatment of women as
equal partners with men, (Madhok). One way the Indian government promoted it was that nearly
five years ago, the government brought in legislation reserving seats for women on panchayats, or
councils which make decisions on every important decision in village political life. Originally the
sole preserve of men, panchayats now have women members and leaders, who are slowly
beginning to challenge feudal traditions and change the way the councils run. The society in India
is beginning to accept women in high political positions. In this case, political culture plays a
significant role since Indian society promotes the representation of women, and thus, it is a part of
that nation s culture. Since Indian society supports more representation of women, or at least equal
representation given the population size, political culture helps push the women s movement
forward. Not only are there seats reserved for women on panchayats, or the local form of
government, but there is a quota system present in all three tiers of government. Quotas are being
introduced in countries that do not have a long history of mobilization of women and of women s

Why Did The Feud Between The Capulets And The Montagues...
Three Questions Why did the feud between the Capulets and the Montagues begin? One reason
for the feud could be different social standings. It can be assumed that the Montagues are of a
lower social class, due to the way they speak. If you read closely you can notice the Montagues
speak with a bit less rhythm than the Capulets do. How did Lord Montague know where Romeo
was early morning? Due to the fact that Lord Montague is Romeo s father, it is logical to simply
infer that Lord Montague followed Romeo. Lord Montague would have done this after noticing
the behavioral changes Romeo was exhibiting. These changes then would have concerned Lord
and Lady Montague, prompting at least one of them to follow Romeo to see why he was so
upset. Why do Lord and Lady Capulet want Juliet to marry Paris? Although Lord and Lady
Capulet both want Juliet to marry, I feel like they both have different reasons. Since Lord
Capulet wants to wait until Juliet is older, and even hosts a party so Juliet may choose who she
marries; I feel as though he wants her to get married to improve her mental health. He is
definitely considering Juliet s feelings more than Lady Capulet is. While Lady Capulet does ask
Juliet her thoughts on marriage, she gives off the impression that her speech would be the same
regardless of Juliet s answer. Even though Juliet says she is not interested in marriage, Lady
Capulet attempts to persuade her. But not just to marry in general, to marry Paris. Lady Capulet s

cafeterias are tremendously different from the ones I remember from when I was little, and they are
always continuously changing. The amount of options we are offered have not lessened, they have
simply changed. Instead of having the option to purchase nachos, we now are given the option of
baked fries. Also, instead of having a dessert of an innutritious brownie, we now are given a large
variety of sweet fruits to choose from instead. While some students distinguish these changes as a
catastrophe, I can understand the importance of having students skip dessert during a school lunch.
Allowing the NSLP to regulate what is served in school lunches would help parents trust that their
children would be getting healthier foods at school, help to combat the epidemic of obesity and
malnutrition in the United States, and assist in educating children on healthy diet choices.
In the article School Lunches , the author discusses whether or not the government s National
School Lunch Program (NSLP) should be allowed to regulate what is served in school lunches.

1. Define the three energy pathways. For each pathway, identify two exercises that utilize the
pathway. If you were training to run a marathon, which pathway would be the focal point of your
training? What types of activities would you incorporate into your marathon training and why?
How will an understanding of energy pathways help you in your future training endeavors?
Three different metabolic energy systems power your workouts and your day. Here s how each
one works, and how to make the most of them all.
Most of us understand our bodies about as well as we understand our cars. We know we re

FIRST RESPONDER: THE ATP CP ENERGY SYSTEM
Whether you re running a 40 meter dash, jumping up to answer the phone, or catching a child
falling off the monkey bars, the adenosine triphosphate creatine phosphate (ATP CP) system is
first to respond. Among your three energy systems, it s the one most prepared for emergencies. It
kicks in whenever the oxidative system, your body s normal method for providing energy, isn t up
to the demands you re placing on it.
All three of your energy systems ultimately run on ATP: It s the fuel source for all your physical
functions, from eating to breathing to running hill sprints. Your glycolytic and oxidative systems
(which we ll cover shortly) make most of this ATP to order, cobbling it together from the food you
eat and the air you breathe as need arises.
But a small quantity of ATP is socked away in your muscles for when you need to expend a short
burst of energy in a hurry. Let s say you re doing a single barbell squat with close to max weight.
As you power the weight up, the muscles of your hips, thighs and lower back immediately burn
through their ATP stores. Once the ATP has done its job, it s either further broken down or
recycled (with the help of another substance, creatine phosphate, or CP), so it can provide more
energy to your working muscles.
How fast does the ATP CP system gear up? Blink and you ll miss it. Once you begin hard activity,

Contracts and licenses
Contracts and licenses are not themselves intellectual property and are generally considered to be a
distinct discipline, not part of the same area of law as intellectual property.
Nevertheless, contracts are essential to our system of intellectual property. They are the means by
which you share intellectual property.
Contracts and licenses are the means by which people let their intellectual property out in a
controlled way.
Importance
Normal people interact with contracts on a daily basis. There are contracts for cell phone service,
contracts for parking your car, and contracts for starting a job. Each time you pay with a credit

Property has certain legal privileges associated with it, in particular the right to seek a court order
an injunction enforcing your control over that property.
In the context of intellectual property, control is usually defined by use. That means that
intellectual property owners have the ability to ask a court to forbid anyone else s use of their
patents, copyrights, or other IP. If someone else starts exercising control over (using) the intellectual
property without permission, that use is said to infringe on the property owner s exclusive rights.
A license can be thought of as permission to use someone else s property. In a contract context,a
license is an agreement in which one of the terms of the agreement is permission by the property
holder to use the property.
Relative to intellectual property, this license has three practical effects:
It gives people permission to use someone else s intellectual property.
It allows intellectual property holders to put bounds and conditions on the use of their intellectual
property. The most common of these conditions is pay money, but other restrictions are also
allowed. For example, many software licenses have restrictions on where and how the software is
used and against reverse engineering.
It allows intellectual property holders to exercise their property rights if the bounds and conditions
on the license are not met.

The Hands Of An Angry God By Jonathan Edwards
For the sinners who fail to cleanse their loathsome, tainted souls, angering the omnipotent God
whose hostility is presented in an infinite wrath, only a painful, torturing hell is held in their
destinies. This terrifying, ominous threat, presented in Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God by
Jonathan Edwards, amplifies the power of God, and renders a profound hatred toward impure
sinners. Accordingly, through his usage of the powerful rhetoric exposed by allusion, imagery, and
metaphor, Edwards produces a dangerous scene which effectively contributes to his formidable
assertion regarding God s animosity toward those who sin, and his capacity to inflict vengeance
upon those who are suspects.
This horrifying malice is portrayed within ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The glittering sword is whet, and held over them, and the pit hath opened its mouth under them
(Edwards 1); this resolute description provides readers with an intense mental image which cements
the idea that God has every capability to enforce a hellish punishment upon those who sin.
Additionally, it is not only true that God wishes to inflict punishment which is inconceivable
without the reference provided by Edwards, but that God loathes the sinners within a deep and
profound standard, projected by the dramatically detailed metaphor promoted by Edwards. In his
metaphorical message to the unconverted sinners, fit for the pits of hell , Edwards clarifies God s
hatred toward these accusers, stating that his wrath towards you burns like fire...he is of purer
eyes than to bear to have you in his sight; you are ten thousand times more abominable in his eyes,
than the most hateful venomous serpent is in ours. You have offended him infinitely more than
ever a stubborn rebel did his prince (Edwards 2). This comparison of hatred to the extreme, and
agreeably odious actions and creatures, effectively describes the rivalry between God and those
who commit acts of sinning.
As presented by Edwards, sinning, an evil, and illicit religious act, prompts violent actions by the
powerful, exasperated God as a method of punishment to those who are loathed convicts. To

The Music Of Hip Hop
Hip hop is a very broad subculture due to the fact that it is comprised of so many other
subcultures. The four main factions of Hip hop are MCing(master of ceremonies) better
identified today as rapping, DJing (disk jockey), breakdancing and Graffiti. Break dancing is
known as the physical manifestation of the hip hop style (Rose 47). The Hip hop subculture has a
long lineage and the four main factions where all foraged together in the same place at the same
time. Even though the culture at the time was viewed as deviant hip hop slowly became a very
popular subculture in America. Due to the fact that Hip hop is so popular makes me believe that
the breaking subculture has been absorbed into mainstream culture.
Break dancing was first performed by underprivileged black and Puerto Rican youth in the mid
1970 s at the height of disco s popularity. The purpose of a disco DJ at the time was to hide or
erase the breaks in between the songs. It was within these breaks that break dancers would come
out and [execute] moves that imitated the rupture in the rhythmic continuity as it was highlighted
in the musical break . Hence the name breakdancers.(Rose 47) The moves that are done in
breakdancing share resemblances to a number of Afro diaspora dances and well as African
American dances, Afro Brazilian martial arts dance Capoeira and even common dances don in the
1920 s. While the dance moves are deeply rooted in the cultures that created them, they are not just

Difference Between Cipla And Ranbaxy
A few years prior to 2006, investors were hooked to Ranbaxy Labs development story and the
numerous income triggers that lay ahead. Cipla on the other hand was an organization that got
little consideration, part of the way on the grounds that its strategies appeared to be very dismal
contrasted with Ranbaxy. Ranbaxy s high risk high return model had worked well for them till
2006, while Cipla s lower risk strategy seemed less engaging.
However the trends were changing in 2006, and Cipla s more stable strategies emerged rewarding,
while Ranbaxy went through a rough patch.
Most analysts awarded this change in the drift to Cipla s strategy, which showed to be more
suitable to the market scenario then. In early 2005, competition was increasing and pricing
pressure was unrelenting. Ranbaxy was the most globalized pharma company in India, with a
ground presence in 49 countries, products available in 125 countries, and manufacturing operations
in eight countries. In 05, Ranbaxy s formulation sales in markets outside India were $463m (40%

The Psychological Impacts Of African Imperialism In Africa
The psychological impact of the introduction of European culture is reflected in the way
Africans illustrated themselves in stories while concurrently portraying the acuteness of the
imperialism situation. The concept of social Darwinism swept the 19th century world with the
theory that some peoples were naturally superior to others. Factors such as race, wealth,
property, and so on were supposedly directly correlated to superiority over others. This concept
was concocted mainly to justify the colonial takeover of lesser nations and to reinforce
European supremacy. ( Social Darwinism ) An example of this idea is Routledge s scorn toward
Africans and their culture. This demeanor had a large psychological impact on the colonized
Africans. In Song of Lawino; A Lament, Ocol scorns his own people by saying, Black People
are Primitive. Ocol is completely convinced his race is backward, imbecilic and corrupt. (Clark
41) Clearly, the psychological impact of European treatment towards Africans altered the way
Africans thought about themselves. If Lawino is seen as an example of African pride before
imperialism, surly Ocol demonstrates the effect of the mental coercion and acceptance of European
superiority that imperialism brought. To combat this idea of inferiority, many African authors
warned against the dangers of believing imperialists. Ghanaian James Aggrey wrote The Parable of
the Eagle in response to the change in perspective. The parable tells of a man who convinced an

Voltaire s Impact On Voltaire
Voltaire An enlightened thinker once said, I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the
death your right to say it. Voltaire was one of the most praised philosophers of his time as he
impacted the views many people had on religion, freedom of speech, and literature. His most
famous works include the Candide, Poem on Lisbon Disaster, Zadig, and Micromegas, These along
with twenty other philosophical tales made Voltairethe master of one of the French Enlightenment
s most fecund and innovative literary forms, (Riley 1). Voltaire changed the way people thought
about the Catholic Church through his plays, poems, and works mocking the injustices and
flaws of society and religion itself in his time. Voltaire was born Francois Marie Arouet in Paris
of 1694 to a family of 5 children. A well known theory about his birthday is that he prefered to
keep it a secret, as he constantly stated it was in different months than people suspected. His
mother, Marie Marguerite d Aumart, died when he was only seven years old. This allowed him
to grow closer to his father, who was free thinking and often encouraged him to speak his mind.
He enrolled at the College Louis le Grand, a Jesuit secondary school in Paris, and received a

Analysis Of The Book Hosea Essay
Hosea is a polemic against idolatry and spiritual infidelity in the nation of Israel while providing
hope for the repentant of restored covenant relationship with God. The author in no uncertain terms
condemns those who look to anything other than God to satisfy them or meet their needs, whether
political (5:13; 7:3 7, 8 12), financial (4:2) or spiritual (13:2), Godalone is all sufficient. The author
uses many different styles when writing the story of Hosea, he is both technical and logically
persuasive when condemning the sins of Israel and the subsequent response of judgment from
God. He mimics Israelite courtroom language, declaring that God is bringing a charge against
the people (4:1), and then thoroughly lays out the specific offenses they have committed. On the
other hand, the author also evokes emotion, both by using the story of Hosea and Gomer
showcasing marital imagery between God and Israel but also by graphically revealing the heart
and emotion of God, who declares, My heart recoils within me: my compassion grows warm and
tender (11:8) when thinking about his beloved bride. The argument is both detailed and logical
(I.e. Israel has sinned, will not repent, and thus they will be judged), but also an emotionally
captivating and persuasive saga of God s unrelenting love for a bride who is utterly undeserving.
As aforementioned, the writing of Hosea, begins as a well formed and tightly structured
arrangement but most of the discourse are repetitive and

The Grass Is Always Greener In Carl Sandburg s Grass
The Grass Is Always Greener (Over the Cemetery): the Use of Proper Nouns, the Imperative
Tense, and Tension Between the First and Third Person in Carl Sandburg s Grass When a battle
is over, the field on which it was fought must look like a wound on the face of the earth: the
blood soaked ground strewn with bodies, lying in mud churned by thousands of marching feet.
Eventually, grass grows over the battlefield, hiding the evidence of the horrors that took place
there under a blanket of green. In years to come, the area appears so unremarkable that passersby
have no indication of what took place there. However, without remembrance, what is to stop
history from continually repeating itself? Carl Sandburg, in his poem Grass, uses the imperative
tense, proper nouns, and tension between the first person and the third person points of view to
show that humanity repeats its mistakes because nature always conceals them. Sandburg uses
proper nouns throughout the poem to emphasize the reality of wars fought and lives lost. By
calling battles by their proper names, in ominous, measured sentences, he is peeling back, so to
speak, the layer of grass concealing them. This technique makes it impossible to gloss over the
atrocities that were committed. When he says, Pile the bodies high at Austerlitz and Waterloo
(Line 1), And pile them high at Ypres and Verdun (5), he is naming specific places, where
individuals died at a certain time. Readers are unable to remove

In silence one can get clarity about one s visions and wishes, one s patterns of thinking and
feeling and how one acts in one s world. Silence can be a tool which helps one know and
experience fully who am I and what one s purpose in life is. In the modern world there is hardly
ever complete silence. People also avoid silence and even seem to be afraid of it. There is
always some background noise, whether that is traffic, music or a TV. It is difficult for some of
us to be in silence because it so clearly brings us face to face with our own identity. This becomes
awkward because so often one plays a role and is embarrassed or ashamed to face the real one.
One is not in peace with oneself so one tries to keep the mind busy with different kinds of input
so that one does not have to think of who am I . Speech is the biggest consumer of one s energy,
the easiest way of dissipating one energy. When talking one uses a lot more oxygen than when

competition. I came in first in all of the the races. The USA Track and Field team saw how good I
ran . They told me to join the team. I asked if I will be able to run in the olympics. They said if I
train good I will be able to run in the olympics. So I trained for the olympics. I practiced with
Tyson Gay, Justin Gatlin and Mike Rodgers. After three years of practicing , I was in the
qualifying round in the olympics and I came in first. I made it all the way to the... Show more

So the olympics officials decided to make a special race called legend vs. rookie. Usain and I got
to practice and train for 2 and half weeks. Usain asked the official if it can be best out of 5. They
said that s fine but you guys have to run two races a day. On the first race I lost by 2 seconds
because of my bad start. The next race I won. I finished in 9.57 seconds and Usain finished in
9.59 seconds. On the third race I won and I finished in 9.53 seconds making a new world record
and Usain finished in 9.54 making a new career record for him. On the fourth race I came short
by 4 seconds and because of that Usain took advantage and beat my world record by finishing
9.52 seconds. On the day of the final race I talked to Justin Gatlin. He taught me a trick to have a
better start. I went on to the track a huge crowd in the stands to watch this epic race. I got set,
they shot the start gun and I ran. I got a good start and tiny bit behind of Usain. Once I got to
straight away I turned on the jets. Usain finished the in 9.51 and I finished in 9.50. The spectators
had to photo finish the race. I beat the world record and everyone was shocked. At the end
everyone congratulated me and I won gold medal for USA Track and Field

Class, Culture, And Gender
Intersectionality is the concept that is used when examining the interconnections between a group
or a an individual dealing with race, class, culture, and gender. Since these groups intersect with one
another, they cannot be examined separately. The term intersectionality was first coined by
Kimberle Crenshaw, being a woman of color she argued that black women have to deal with two
types of discrimination, racismand sexism. A combination of two types of discrimination, when
studying an individual it hard not to intersect them with different types of discrimination. Crenshaw
and other women of color would not have to deal with double discrimination if white women were
not discriminated and if black peoplewere not discriminated as well. Privilege then comes into
play here, more importantly white privilege, having social advantages just by being born white.
Having white privilege only goes so far, if you are a woman one still has the social advantages
of being white, but then comes in sexism and male privilege. Where privilege and oppression
intersect on not only an individual, but a type of group, being the white female. By being a white
woman one can be privileged and oppressed at the same time. While if you are a woman of color
you are discriminated more upon and more oppressed since you are not only dealing with one
discrimination, but two. One type of group that comes into play with discrimination is the woman.
Where in a society that is prominently

Know And Learned About Bats
Things I Know and Learned About Bats
Here are some things I know about bats. Bats are nocturnal, which means they are active at night.
They use echo location. Bats aren t very good with their eyesight, they re nearly blind! So for this
they use their hearing, which is echo location. With echo locations bats send out a sound which
spreads out, other animals in the location have these sounds bounce off their body going back to the
bat. Which then helps the bats find prey or help with their motion of direction. Bats are also
mammals this means they are warm blooded. Some bats carry diseases so if you got a nasty bite
from a bat you could possibly get ill.
Alright here are some things I want to know about bats. Why are bats called bats? It sounds

Is Nurturing Nature Necessary Or Does It Have Negative...
Is nurturing nature necessary or does it have negative consequences? In 1914, the last passenger
pigeon, a bird that was catalogued at one time by famous ornithologist John James Audubon
(who is still remembered through the Audubon guide series), died. There are and never will be
any more. As a species, the Passenger Pigeon was hunted to extinction because they were noisy,
messy, and disruptive. They would fly in huge (like blocking out the sun type of huge) flocks,
and one could imagine the towns that were flown over. In Charles Roth s book, Then There
Were None, he details how the extinction of an entire species was possible: the trees and forests
(the bird s natural habitat) were destroyed at nesting sites, which the passenger pigeon was very
specific about, and the young were eaten, being more tender and palatable. Unfortunately, humans
hadn t learned yet the reach of their terrible destructive arm. Since everyone was eating the
young and destroying forests, the picky passenger pigeon was not only old, they were also
unwilling to lower their expectations for a nesting site. Therefore, no new pigeons were born, and
there were no replacements for the elderly. Populations decline very quickly when there are no
youth. As a result, the passenger pigeon is no more (Roth, 1977). What did we learn from this
calamity? Well, according to the bison, beavers, wolves, mountain lions, bears, hawks, owls, ivory
billed woodpeckers, whooping crane, and black footed ferrets, nothing

Characteristics Of Wonder Woman
Wonder Woman Finally Flying! When you think of superheroes you think of heroes such as
Batman, Superman, or the Flash, but one hero that was left in the shadow was Wonder Woman.
Wonder Woman has struggled for years to get off the ground even with her invisible jet. She has
had this ongoing struggle because of her constant comparison with her male counterparts such as
Batman, Superman, and the Flash.
Although superheroes are fictional they all have their own unique backstories. Wonder Woman
has a very different backstory than her male counterparts. Wonder Woman was born onto Paradise
Island to her mother Hippolyta. Wonder Woman s given name was Diana, and this what she was
called her entire life on the island with the other Amazon women. Wonder Woman then found her
way into the human world whenever a pilot named Steve Trevor crashes onto her island, and she
wins the rights to escort him back home. One of her male counterpart Superman was born on the
planet of Krypton, but his parents sent him out into space as their planet was being destroyed.
Superman eventually wound up crashing into earth, and being raised by a farming couple instead
of his biological parents. The farming couple would raise the boy by the name Clark Kent. Another
hero that had to grow up without his biological parents was Batman or more formally known as
Bruce Wayne. Batman parents were killed during a mugging right in front of him on night in
Gotham City. After his parent s death, he was raised by the

Fair Trade Coffee Offers a Solution to the Coffee Crisis...
Fair Trade Coffee Offers a Solution to the Coffee Crisis
When you buy a cup of coffee in Starbucks every morning to keep you awake through the day, do
you ever think of the origins of these coffee beans? How much of those three dollars you pay in
Starbucks goes to the Farmers? Personally, I m not a coffee drinker. But somehow I realize the
big sign in front of Java City in the Reitz Union Food Court, which says Certified Fair Trade
Coffee. I m surprised how few students know what it means. Currently, farmers in Brazil and
Vietnam grow the majority of coffee beans.
These farmers then sell their beans to the middlemen who pay them low prices an average of $0.3
0.4 per pound. The farmers are earning less or even losing for growing ... Show more content on

As a result, wholesale coffee prices are at their lowest levels in 100 years. Back in 1997,
unroasted coffee beans that had a wholesale price of $2 a pound dipped to under 50 cents a
pound in 2002, a price below many farmers production cost. Since farmers couldn t afford the
proper working conditions, the beans would be grown using the twelve most health threatening
types of pesticide. Furthermore, With low prices, farmers tend to reduce inputs and take less
care of the trees. In some cases this means that it is easier to cut down forest for plantations
rather than care for existing ones, said NГ©stor Osorio, executive director of the ICO (Roach).
The farmers could not afford to improve organic growing conditions and develop higher quality
coffee beans. It directly reduces the range of quality and varieties of coffee we are obtaining!
According to Liam Brody, a program coordinator for Oxfam America in Boston, the situation was
so adverse that hundreds of thousands of coffee farmers in Africa and Central and South America
have lost their jobs as farmland is converted to other agricultural uses such as livestock grazing or
the cultivation of illicit drugs (Roach).
To alleviate the coffee crisis, Fair Trade coffee is the most appropriate action. TransFair is the only
organization in the United States to determine whether or not coffee beans meet fair trade standards
an importer must meet stringent international criteria; paying a minimum price per

Risk Management Assessment Paper

University of Phoenix
Risk Management Assessment Paper The effort to decrease and evaluate risks to patients, staff, and
organizational resources within a health care institution is defined as health care risk management.
In order for facilities to minimize financial loss is to reduce accidents and injuries. All health care
facilities and providers put risk management in to practice on a continuing basis. In 1985, the
senior officers of the The Health and Human Services (DHHS) decided that there was a need to
implement policies and procedures on risk management and risk assessment. There was a
considerable amount of concern about how the advances in risk management and risk ... Show more

Another risk is an organizational risk. This type of risk occurs when the management
commitment, political expectations, or legislative requirements to complete the project are
impacted because the project does not proceed. This type of risk looks very bad on the
organizations and makes the stakeholders question what type of organization they have invested
in. Then you have technical risks. These risks are associated with maintaining skilled staff,
hardware and software dependencies, application software, other infrastructure needs, and
security vulnerabilities and safeguards (hhs.gov). This type of risk affects the organization is a
major way. If not handled in a proper manner, the organization can be destroyed. The organization
has to realize that the stakeholders are looking at this very closely. They want to know that the
organization is serious about the staff and that they are skilled enough to handle what goes on in
the organization. It is also important that no one is giving out improper information. In order to
mitigate these risks, the organization needs to have proper education. How can a person with no
education or experience solve any kind of risk problem? Of course to some people it is a natural
instinct to know how to resolve issues but they still must have education to back up their

  • 2. Censorship Of The World Wide Web We live in the age of information, a world that has now been largely digitalized. The World Wide Web is the central component of our era, as it allows people across the globe to share and receive information in an instance. It used to take months before a letter from China could reach the U.S, now it just takes a second with E Mail. This fast pace information processing has allowed human society to move forward with unprecedented speed, but it also raises many concerns for government authorities. Sharing information is a powerful tool, and too much of it will make any government nervous. Censorship of information has had a long history throughout the world. In ancient China for example, censorship was considered a legitimate instrument ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... That is a 718% increase compared with the 757 items that Google had to remove in the six months prior (Suter). Dorothy Chou, a senior policy analyst at Google wrote in her blog post, It s alarming not only because free expression is at risk, but because some of these requests come from countries you might not suspect Western democracies not typically associated with censorship. Other countries can also send in requests to Google and ask them to take things down, but Google rarely complies with those requests. Being a U.S based company; Google has complied with 93% of the government requests from our own government authorities. It only complied or partially complied with only 24% of such requests from Canada, and 44% from France (Sutter). The numbers are significantly lower, which shows that Google is clearly under more pressure by the U.S government. Other nations like China and Russia have completely banned Google all together. These data suggests that the U.S government also actively monitors the World Wide Web , George Orwell s worst nightmare. The U.S. government has even gone as far as to ask Google for data on its users more than 31,000 times in 2012 alone. Google said that they ended up turning over at least some data in every single case (Quain). However, some have argued that these monitoring isn t all that bad. • 3. What Are Richard Feyman s Major Accomplishments Tyler Swanbeck 3/5/17 Physics Mr. Jennings Richard Feynman Richard Feynman is heralded as one of the greatest physicists of all time. This is mainly because of his achievements in the fields of quantum electrodynamics, and other works while being a theoretical physicist. Feynman was also able to be recognized as one of the leading figures in the U.S. atomic bomb program, and received many awards during his lifetime; most famously the Nobel Prize in 1965. One of Richard Feynman s most notable achievements was his achievements in remaking modern day quantum electrodynamics. Quantum electrodynamics is the theory of interaction between light and matter. Feynman did this by fixing previous mistake that he found in the overall understanding of the entire theory. The outcome of his work helped other understand such a complex theory through Feynman diagrams. These diagrams ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He was able to contribute to the project with the vast knowledge that he had gained through his life works. He was able to contribute by determining critical masses involved with creating the bombs. He also was able to invent the Bethe Feynman formula that allowed scientists/physicists to calculate implosion efficiency. Also, he was able to calculate neutron equations that provided the needed knowledge to create nuclear reactors. Feynman was also able to become a world renowned teacher. He first started his career at Cornell as a physics professor. Later, he then became a professor at Caltech, and his lectures were widely listened to because of his achievements in the field of physics. Feynman recieved another achievement in the field of physics called the Oested Medal, but it was now in the field of teaching. This proved that Feynman was one of, if not, the greatest physicists of all time because he was able to achieve great feats in both the world of physics as a physicist and as a ... • 4. Analysis Of The Poem The Daughter Of The Dancers The Virtue Of Innocence Innocence is a glorified trait in nearly any culture around the world. Many strive to keep the innocence they are born with, and plenty others spend a lifetime attempting to regain the innocence they have lost with age. In the following photos, innocence is a common theme, which each photographer approaches in a unique way. There is a dull and unsettling truth behind the innocent demonstration of young ladies acting much more mature than their age. Manuel Alvarez Bravo is one of the premier figures of modern photography and the main photographer among the immense Mexican artists of the twentieth century. In The Daughter of the Dancers, Bravo illustrates the idea of youthfulness on the verge of loosing its innocence. Sally Mann, a photographer from the 1980s 90s, caught a reflection of grown up moves inside the innocence and youth of adolescents in Candy Cigarette through her utilization of organization, field point, and technique. In 1985 National Geographic photographer Steve McCurry went through Afghan towns concentrating on the evacuees and recording their hardships. The Afghan Girl is a classical image of lost innocence; the girl was forced to grow up way to fast. Her innocence did not survive, but she did. The innocence of children is secured by the individuals who adore them with the goal that they grow up as actually unaffected by preventable undesirable contributions as could be expected under the circumstances. • 5. Historical Aspects Of Ancient China As with all oracular processes, chance remains a pivotal aspect of divining the future. The use of divination in the context of Ancient China is a way of explaining the unknown. Known in the Western sphere as The Book of Changes, the Yijing/I Ching conversely known as Zhouyi is a document that was incepted during the Bronze Age for the purposes of divination. The contents of the Yijing holds sixty four short chapters, each consisting of three elements: a hexagram, a hexagram statement, and six line statements. The hexagrams are drawings of six parallel lines, some whole and some broken. The two kind of statements...explain the mantic value of each hexagram and each line. The following line statements that accompany each individual line can also give further insight as to whether the person asking the question will be successful in their endeavors. Though according to Rutt, though its indications are sometimes appropriate to the theme of the lines, the hexagram statement does not summarize the theme of its line statements, and in most cases has no thematic connection with the...and cannot be said to provide a general summary of the hexagram s meaning... Even if the divination process selects the same hexagram for varying situations, it does not guarantee that they will all have the same outcome of success or failure. The Yijing is rooted in mathematics; the basis of the hexagrams were inspired by nature, which can be debased to mathematical equations. 2 to the power of 6 equates to the number of hexagrams within the document (64 total). Since numbers to the power of 2, together with multiple symmetries, turn up everywhere in mathematical and physical structures, Chinese scholars found no difficulty in applying the 64 hexagrams to everything from the structure of crystals to the solar system. Hexagrams were also discovered to have relation to binary by William Leibniz. Hexagrams in the Fuxi order, if written with 0 for the broken lines and 1 for the whole lines, and with the bottom line at the right, gave the binary ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. Reflection Of Chemistry Dr. Adriana, we need 70 mL of ethanol, I said confidently after computing the dilution factor needed for an immunohistochemistry experiment. This was my first time using the molarity formula in real life. When I first learned this formula, it had little significance because I never had to use it. That was the way most things were to me regarding science; I was bombarded with formulas and equations to memorize with no intention of actually using them. While I was told that I was good at chemistry and was able to work hard and do well in the class, it was not until I sat in a real medical researchlaboratory that my passion for chemistry began. It was quite the adjustment for me; the answers to my questions could not be found in a book. I soon realized that memorizing formulas would not suffice; I needed a way to visualize intricate ideas on the subatomic level. But this is what made me love the experience the challenge. Everything we did used chemistry concepts but took it a step further. The goal was not to get the right answer; with each step we were closer to a solution for patients struggling with cancer. This topic hit home to me because it felt as though I was personally leave a touch on lives of each person I knew who the disease had affected. Through working for a purpose greater than just myself, I found a new love for chemistry. Jonah shares three terms that will help him run his plant: throughput, inventory and operational expense. Everything can be classified under one of these terms. While in the midst of all of this turmoil, the plant had robots that were taking over some of the production jobs. Alex realizes, after his talk with Jonah, that these robots did not help to save money, but in fact increased costs, operational expenses, and were less productive. The robots were implemented, which increased costs to do so, however they did not reduce other costs like direct labor. They shifted labor to other parts of the plant. Now the challenge is how they are going to take care of the robots issue without lowering efficiencies? Alex decides to visit Jonah again. Jonah tells him he has got it all wrong. Alex takes some time to reflect once again during his Boy Scouts trip. A balanced plant is not the answer Alex is looking for. • 11. George Orwell s Down And Out Of Paris And London Essay Poverty in 20 century is further discussed and analyzed. People rarely consider that the poverty is caused by economic inequality; income not divided evenly, and class structure in the USA becoming like a fat jar with small base. With the growing concern of poverty, people begin to think whether American Dream still exists in this country. However, the povertyphenomena is gradually being changed. In contrast to modern society, the working poor nowadays have better condition than the situation that described in the book of Down and Out of Paris and London. During the Orwell s period, he described the dehumanized working circumstances as a plongeurs. Although poverty in 20st century remains, the situations that the working poor face actually become much better compared with 1930 s Paris. That is, comparing to the old days, in contemporary society, the working poor get helps from government, and are empowered by both the government and themselves, and receive the helps from philanthropic organizations. Comparing with Orwell s period and contemporary, the working poor are no longer with no right and exploited by capital since the government gets involved to protect their right. In reading of Down and Out in Paris and London, Orwell narrates the working situation of working poor: the cook s working hours were from eight in the morning till midnight, and mine from seven in the morning till half past twelve the next morning seventeen and a half hours, almost without a ... Women were conditioned to be treated like second class citizens solely because of their gender until a crucial movement in American history during the late nineteenth century that would inspire a long fight for equality for generations to come. The gospels each tell their versions of his life. Of the four, I found the gospel of Mark to be the most interesting. I enjoy the style of writing in this gospel more than the others. I feel it gives a better summary of the events in Christ s life. Whereas the other gospels tend to get bogged down with parables or spend too much time on specific events, the gospelof Mark moves along at a good pace and adequately gets the message across. A majority of Mark deals with Christ s travels throughout the area around the Sea of Galilee and the various miracles he performed during that time. Most of these involved... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is a beautifully written passage. Without coming out and saying, it, Christ makes it apparent that it s not enough to merely worship; one must also go out and preach to the unsaved and try to help them see the light. Another parable tells of the rich young man who asks Christ how he may attain the kingdom of God. Christ asks if he as followed the Ten Commandments, and the young man says he has. Then Christ tells him that he has to give all his possessions to the poor because he will have no need of such things in Heaven. This saddens the young man because he has many possessions. After the young man left, Christ told his disciples that it is difficult for the rich to get into Heaven because they put too much faith into their riches. It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God, (Mark 10:25). This is a poignant message. Christ then says that a man who gives up everything for his faith will be well rewarded in Heaven. This parable is timeless. It speaks of the downfall greed can force upon you. In the end, no matter how much you have, you can t take it with you. One of the most widely told stories of Jesus is written in Mark. United Stats V.S India and the Different Electoral Systems Despite a total number of forty democracies throughout the world, many countries, such as the United States, have more men employed in higher positions in the political sphere, especially in the legislature. Generally, in worldwide legislatures and democracies, there are not many women present in the legislature, if any at all. However, one democracy that is taking the initiative in empowering women and giving them equal and fair opportunities as men in the political sphere is India. Indian politicians believed that the objective of the policy for women s development should consist of a shift of attitude from one of compassion and welfare to that of treatment of women as equal partners with men, (Madhok). One way the Indian government promoted it was that nearly five years ago, the government brought in legislation reserving seats for women on panchayats, or councils which make decisions on every important decision in village political life. Originally the sole preserve of men, panchayats now have women members and leaders, who are slowly beginning to challenge feudal traditions and change the way the councils run. The society in India is beginning to accept women in high political positions. In this case, political culture plays a significant role since Indian society promotes the representation of women, and thus, it is a part of that nation s culture. Since Indian society supports more representation of women, or at least equal representation given the population size, political culture helps push the women s movement forward. Not only are there seats reserved for women on panchayats, or the local form of government, but there is a quota system present in all three tiers of government. Quotas are being introduced in countries that do not have a long history of mobilization of women and of women s integration ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 18. Why Did The Feud Between The Capulets And The Montagues... Three Questions Why did the feud between the Capulets and the Montagues begin? One reason for the feud could be different social standings. It can be assumed that the Montagues are of a lower social class, due to the way they speak. If you read closely you can notice the Montagues speak with a bit less rhythm than the Capulets do. How did Lord Montague know where Romeo was early morning? Due to the fact that Lord Montague is Romeo s father, it is logical to simply infer that Lord Montague followed Romeo. Lord Montague would have done this after noticing the behavioral changes Romeo was exhibiting. These changes then would have concerned Lord and Lady Montague, prompting at least one of them to follow Romeo to see why he was so upset. Why do Lord and Lady Capulet want Juliet to marry Paris? Although Lord and Lady Capulet both want Juliet to marry, I feel like they both have different reasons. Since Lord Capulet wants to wait until Juliet is older, and even hosts a party so Juliet may choose who she marries; I feel as though he wants her to get married to improve her mental health. He is definitely considering Juliet s feelings more than Lady Capulet is. While Lady Capulet does ask Juliet her thoughts on marriage, she gives off the impression that her speech would be the same regardless of Juliet s answer. Even though Juliet says she is not interested in marriage, Lady Capulet attempts to persuade her. But not just to marry in general, to marry Paris. Lady Capulet s ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 20. School Lunch Essay Skipping Dessert When I was younger, I vividly remember the vast amount of delicious food that was offered every day in my school lunchroom. The food that I use to describe as good food, I am beginning to undoubtedly recognise for the unhealthy junk that it actually is. There are countless others who also notice how horrible these foods are to feed children in school cafeterias. Today, those same cafeterias are tremendously different from the ones I remember from when I was little, and they are always continuously changing. The amount of options we are offered have not lessened, they have simply changed. Instead of having the option to purchase nachos, we now are given the option of baked fries. Also, instead of having a dessert of an innutritious brownie, we now are given a large variety of sweet fruits to choose from instead. While some students distinguish these changes as a catastrophe, I can understand the importance of having students skip dessert during a school lunch. Allowing the NSLP to regulate what is served in school lunches would help parents trust that their children would be getting healthier foods at school, help to combat the epidemic of obesity and malnutrition in the United States, and assist in educating children on healthy diet choices. It kicks in whenever the oxidative system, your body s normal method for providing energy, isn t up to the demands you re placing on it. All three of your energy systems ultimately run on ATP: It s the fuel source for all your physical functions, from eating to breathing to running hill sprints. Your glycolytic and oxidative systems (which we ll cover shortly) make most of this ATP to order, cobbling it together from the food you eat and the air you breathe as need arises. But a small quantity of ATP is socked away in your muscles for when you need to expend a short burst of energy in a hurry. Let s say you re doing a single barbell squat with close to max weight. As you power the weight up, the muscles of your hips, thighs and lower back immediately burn through their ATP stores. Once the ATP has done its job, it s either further broken down or recycled (with the help of another substance, creatine phosphate, or CP), so it can provide more energy to your working muscles. This terrifying, ominous threat, presented in Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God by Jonathan Edwards, amplifies the power of God, and renders a profound hatred toward impure sinners. The glittering sword is whet, and held over them, and the pit hath opened its mouth under them (Edwards 1); this resolute description provides readers with an intense mental image which cements the idea that God has every capability to enforce a hellish punishment upon those who sin. Additionally, it is not only true that God wishes to inflict punishment which is inconceivable without the reference provided by Edwards, but that God loathes the sinners within a deep and profound standard, projected by the dramatically detailed metaphor promoted by Edwards. In his metaphorical message to the unconverted sinners, fit for the pits of hell , Edwards clarifies God s hatred toward these accusers, stating that his wrath towards you burns like fire...he is of purer eyes than to bear to have you in his sight; you are ten thousand times more abominable in his eyes, than the most hateful venomous serpent is in ours. You have offended him infinitely more than ever a stubborn rebel did his prince (Edwards 2). This comparison of hatred to the extreme, and agreeably odious actions and creatures, effectively describes the rivalry between God and those who commit acts of sinning. As presented by Edwards, sinning, an evil, and illicit religious act, prompts violent actions by the powerful, exasperated God as a method of punishment to those who are loathed convicts. To ... • 30. The Psychological Impacts Of African Imperialism In Africa The psychological impact of the introduction of European culture is reflected in the way Africans illustrated themselves in stories while concurrently portraying the acuteness of the imperialism situation. The concept of social Darwinism swept the 19th century world with the theory that some peoples were naturally superior to others. Factors such as race, wealth, property, and so on were supposedly directly correlated to superiority over others. This concept was concocted mainly to justify the colonial takeover of lesser nations and to reinforce European supremacy. ( Social Darwinism ) An example of this idea is Routledge s scorn toward Africans and their culture. This demeanor had a large psychological impact on the colonized Africans. In Song of Lawino; A Lament, Ocol scorns his own people by saying, Black People are Primitive. Ocol is completely convinced his race is backward, imbecilic and corrupt. (Clark 41) Clearly, the psychological impact of European treatment towards Africans altered the way Africans thought about themselves. If Lawino is seen as an example of African pride before imperialism, surly Ocol demonstrates the effect of the mental coercion and acceptance of European superiority that imperialism brought. To combat this idea of inferiority, many African authors warned against the dangers of believing imperialists. His most famous works include the Candide, Poem on Lisbon Disaster, Zadig, and Micromegas, These along with twenty other philosophical tales made Voltairethe master of one of the French Enlightenment s most fecund and innovative literary forms, (Riley 1). • 33. Analysis Of The Book Hosea Essay Hosea is a polemic against idolatry and spiritual infidelity in the nation of Israel while providing hope for the repentant of restored covenant relationship with God. The author in no uncertain terms condemns those who look to anything other than God to satisfy them or meet their needs, whether political (5:13; 7:3 7, 8 12), financial (4:2) or spiritual (13:2), Godalone is all sufficient. The author uses many different styles when writing the story of Hosea, he is both technical and logically persuasive when condemning the sins of Israel and the subsequent response of judgment from God. He mimics Israelite courtroom language, declaring that God is bringing a charge against the people (4:1), and then thoroughly lays out the specific offenses they have committed. On the other hand, the author also evokes emotion, both by using the story of Hosea and Gomer showcasing marital imagery between God and Israel but also by graphically revealing the heart and emotion of God, who declares, My heart recoils within me: my compassion grows warm and tender (11:8) when thinking about his beloved bride. The argument is both detailed and logical (I.e. Israel has sinned, will not repent, and thus they will be judged), but also an emotionally captivating and persuasive saga of God s unrelenting love for a bride who is utterly undeserving. As aforementioned, the writing of Hosea, begins as a well formed and tightly structured arrangement but most of the discourse are repetitive and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Grass Is Always Greener In Carl Sandburg s Grass The Grass Is Always Greener (Over the Cemetery): the Use of Proper Nouns, the Imperative Tense, and Tension Between the First and Third Person in Carl Sandburg s Grass When a battle is over, the field on which it was fought must look like a wound on the face of the earth: the blood soaked ground strewn with bodies, lying in mud churned by thousands of marching feet. Eventually, grass grows over the battlefield, hiding the evidence of the horrors that took place there under a blanket of green. In years to come, the area appears so unremarkable that passersby have no indication of what took place there. However, without remembrance, what is to stop history from continually repeating itself? Carl Sandburg, in his poem Grass, uses the imperative tense, proper nouns, and tension between the first person and the third person points of view to show that humanity repeats its mistakes because nature always conceals them. Sandburg uses proper nouns throughout the poem to emphasize the reality of wars fought and lives lost. It is difficult for some of us to be in silence because it so clearly brings us face to face with our own identity. This becomes awkward because so often one plays a role and is embarrassed or ashamed to face the real one. One is not in peace with oneself so one tries to keep the mind busy with different kinds of input so that one does not have to think of who am I . Speech is the biggest consumer of one s energy, the easiest way of dissipating one energy. When talking one uses a lot more oxygen than when one is in silence. Excessive talking causes energy burnout and mind gets overheated which then in turn has effects on one s reactions. One becomes angry and impatient due to which one is not able to act calmly, coolly or rationally anymore. Also listening to people who talk a lot takes a lot of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 42. Class, Culture, And Gender Intersectionality is the concept that is used when examining the interconnections between a group or a an individual dealing with race, class, culture, and gender. Since these groups intersect with one another, they cannot be examined separately. The term intersectionality was first coined by Kimberle Crenshaw, being a woman of color she argued that black women have to deal with two types of discrimination, racismand sexism. A combination of two types of discrimination, when studying an individual it hard not to intersect them with different types of discrimination. Crenshaw and other women of color would not have to deal with double discrimination if white women were not discriminated and if black peoplewere not discriminated as well. Privilege then comes into play here, more importantly white privilege, having social advantages just by being born white. Having white privilege only goes so far, if you are a woman one still has the social advantages of being white, but then comes in sexism and male privilege. Where privilege and oppression intersect on not only an individual, but a type of group, being the white female. By being a white woman one can be privileged and oppressed at the same time. While if you are a woman of color you are discriminated more upon and more oppressed since you are not only dealing with one discrimination, but two. One type of group that comes into play with discrimination is the woman. Where in a society that is prominently ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Bats aren t very good with their eyesight, they re nearly blind! So for this they use their hearing, which is echo location. With echo locations bats send out a sound which spreads out, other animals in the location have these sounds bounce off their body going back to the bat. • 44. Is Nurturing Nature Necessary Or Does It Have Negative... Is nurturing nature necessary or does it have negative consequences? In 1914, the last passenger pigeon, a bird that was catalogued at one time by famous ornithologist John James Audubon (who is still remembered through the Audubon guide series), died. There are and never will be any more. As a species, the Passenger Pigeon was hunted to extinction because they were noisy, messy, and disruptive. They would fly in huge (like blocking out the sun type of huge) flocks, and one could imagine the towns that were flown over. In Charles Roth s book, Then There Were None, he details how the extinction of an entire species was possible: the trees and forests (the bird s natural habitat) were destroyed at nesting sites, which the passenger pigeon was very specific about, and the young were eaten, being more tender and palatable. Unfortunately, humans hadn t learned yet the reach of their terrible destructive arm. Since everyone was eating the young and destroying forests, the picky passenger pigeon was not only old, they were also unwilling to lower their expectations for a nesting site. Therefore, no new pigeons were born, and there were no replacements for the elderly. Populations decline very quickly when there are no youth. As a result, the passenger pigeon is no more (Roth, 1977). What did we learn from this calamity? Well, according to the bison, beavers, wolves, mountain lions, bears, hawks, owls, ivory billed woodpeckers, whooping crane, and black footed ferrets, nothing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

When you think of superheroes you think of heroes such as Batman, Superman, or the Flash, but one hero that was left in the shadow was Wonder Woman. Wonder Woman has struggled for years to get off the ground even with her invisible jet. She has had this ongoing struggle because of her constant comparison with her male counterparts such as Batman, Superman, and the Flash. Although superheroes are fictional they all have their own unique backstories. Wonder Woman has a very different backstory than her male counterparts. Wonder Woman was born onto Paradise Island to her mother Hippolyta. Wonder Woman s given name was Diana, and this what she was called her entire life on the island with the other Amazon women. Wonder Woman then found her way into the human world whenever a pilot named Steve Trevor crashes onto her island, and she wins the rights to escort him back home. One of her male counterpart Superman was born on the planet of Krypton, but his parents sent him out into space as their planet was being destroyed. Superman eventually wound up crashing into earth, and being raised by a farming couple instead of his biological parents. The farming couple would raise the boy by the name Clark Kent. Another hero that had to grow up without his biological parents was Batman or more formally known as Bruce Wayne. Back in 1997, unroasted coffee beans that had a wholesale price of $2 a pound dipped to under 50 cents a pound in 2002, a price below many farmers production cost. Since farmers couldn t afford the proper working conditions, the beans would be grown using the twelve most health threatening types of pesticide. Furthermore, With low prices, farmers tend to reduce inputs and take less care of the trees. In some cases this means that it is easier to cut down forest for plantations rather than care for existing ones, said NГ©stor Osorio, executive director of the ICO (Roach). The farmers could not afford to improve organic growing conditions and develop higher quality coffee beans. It directly reduces the range of quality and varieties of coffee we are obtaining! According to Liam Brody, a program coordinator for Oxfam America in Boston, the situation was so adverse that hundreds of thousands of coffee farmers in Africa and Central and South America have lost their jobs as farmland is converted to other agricultural uses such as livestock grazing or the cultivation of illicit drugs (Roach). To alleviate the coffee crisis, Fair Trade coffee is the most appropriate action.
