A Hospice Nurse Reflection Paper
In the last few months, I have been blessed with the opportunity of working as a hospice nurse
delivering the utmost care to those who are terminally ill with weeks to hours to live. Working here I
have found myself filled with many emotions of sadness, anger, love, compassion, empathy,
happiness, and the list goes on. My goal and mission is to deliver the core values of AR Hospice and
bring compassion that will allow my patients to die with ease, peacefulness, and freedom. I have
learned to love and appreciate what this job has encircled me with. This profession has taught me to
appreciate every moment in life and love those today who are dear to you. Just recently a coworker
stopped me, pulled me into a room and said, Don t wait till I m at my funeral, to hand me flowers,
(meaning to show appreciation now and not at my funeral). I looked in disarray. She wanted to show
her appreciation to me, acknowledging how great of a nurse I was to our patients and families and
how I show true compassion. On an evening in July, I had the opportunity to take care of Mrs. X who
was minimally responsive the time she made it to my unit. She had been battling an illness for years
and it had begun to take her to her final destination. Mrs. X was transferred from an ICU unit where
her liver had begun to fail, her abdomen was tight, distended and filled with fluid; her skin and sclera
was jaundice and it was evident that her kidney was failing too. Mrs. X had a loving large family and

Characteristics Of Jainism In Ahimsa
The general idea of Ahimsa is concentrated on nonviolence and to abstain from any type of violent
behavior and any form of injury to all living things. They do not wish any harm on others. Ahimsa is
derived from the Indian religion of Jainism which is one of the most ancient religions in India. One of
the primary focal points of Jainism is that live human beings relationships and soul with other human
beings bring about the natural revelation of Ahimsa as the justification of the religion. Ahimsa s focus
is non violence, peaceful harmony with all things, and love. A Jain lives in Ahimsa by practicing these
similar characteristics because Jainism is the world s most peaceful religion. Jainism is a religion that
believes in non violence and the proper treatment of everything on this earth. Jains believe that just
thinking thoughts of another person is considered violence. Jains should not use words that could
injure or give unhappiness to one another. Jains will walk on sidewalk and sweep as their walking to
avoid killing an ant or some sort of bug, they are also taught to let animals live and die a natural death.
Even though they know nonviolence cannot be perfectly practiced they try their best to live it. Each
Jain is responsible for its own salvation. Aparigraha is one of the fundamental doctrines of Jainism,
somewhat like Ahimsa and Anekantvad derived from Sanskrit. Aparigraha stands for non possession,
non attachment, and non greed. Aparigraha limits personal desires

Case Study Sealed Air
Sealed Air was faced with two different options regarding the prospective launch of an uncoated
bubble packaging product. Sealed Air could either launch the product worldwide or in selected
locations or consider the option of not entering the uncoated bubble packaging market at all.
As with all the evaluation of all new product market entry strategies, Sealed Air must first consider its
organizational strengths and how they relate to the potential product launch. More specifically, Sealed
Air must be cognizant of their widely respected brand of high quality and superior performance coated
bubble packages. With the potential launch of an uncoated bubble packaging product, Sealed Air risks
diluting their brand value, particularly in the quality and performance conscious US market. There is
also the possibility that the introduction of an uncoated bubble wrap product might negate the
consumer education the organization has previously performed regarding the advantages of coated
bubble products. An additional organizational strength of Sealed Air is their corporate management
goal of both market leadership and technological innovation. Entry into the uncoated product market
would diverge from both goals, as Sealed Air would be neither the market leader nor the technological
innovator. A reactionary entry into the market would be contrary to ... Show more content on

to several competitors introduction of low priced competing uncoated bubble packaging of tolerable

The s First True Love Passes Away
In 1997, after 40 plus years of marriage, Mr. Meada s first true love passes away. They first met in
high school and became sweethearts. It was not a welcomed union by her father. He felt that Bill,
being the first male in his household would be a burden to his daughter. Traditionally, the first son was
to take on the responsibilities of the two households, which Bill could not afford at the time.
This paralleled the Issei and the Nisei conflicts in southern California Los Angeles. The children not

It was like a spectacle on the news as one would watch news of the war in Iraqi.
The black community in Los Angeles was dividing within itself. Black men and women that found
work in good paying jobs started expanding into more affluent neighborhoods and became Bill s
neighbors. Similarly to Bill, they were able to send their children to better private and public schools.
They moved in and around neighborhoods like Crenshaw, Northridge, Baldwin Hills, and even parts
of forbidden Orange County.
An analysis of income distribution in black Los Angeles between 1970 and 1990 revealed the
polarizing effects of the decline in the low skilled and semi skilled employment among blacks. David
M. Grant and colleagues found that between 1970 and 1990 the number of blacks in the poorest
quintile and the wealthiest quintile increased significantly, while the number of blacks in the middle
three quintiles decreased by as much as 30 percent. (Sides, 202)
Latino migration was easier than that of Black Americans. White neighbors found Latinos more
tolerable and considered them the ambiguous relationship to whiteness. 1 But they too had their
limitations of acceptance into the white neighborhoods. Their acceptance became predicated on the
lightness of their skin and their ability

Andy Sachs s Love For Fashion
Andy Sachs, a young aspired journalist, seeking for a job finds herself employed by Runway
Magazine, a fashion magazine as an Assistant to the Chief Editor. While initially accepting the
position, Andy had to learn the details of the job and the culture of the business. However, Andy took
on the challenge and felt that she could manage the hideous culture of fashion, behaviors, and attitudes
of her coworkers in order to survive for at least a year until she finds a journalist position of her liking.
The perception of people who involve themselves in this line of career, according to Benedictus
(2009) are those that have a love for fashion, that s why they re doing it. It s almost like a little bit of a
social atmosphere when you come in every day. Like when girls go out at night and they see what
each other is wearing. It s nice. But in Andy s case, she felt that it was just a job and the fashion was
not her purpose for accepting the job at Runway. She initially did not buy into the culture of fashion
and continued to report to work in her original dress code.
As in any job there are credential job requirements. Andy had the educational background and ...

Andy continued to be viewed as a misfit for the company s culture as she did not behave, dress or own
the designer fashion needed to blend in. What I have learned is that in the fashion industry such as the
Runway, Benedictus (2009) mention in a Vogue article, a prerequisite of the job, is fashion. People
would die to have the opportunity to work there. The work attire is crucial when the clothes of what
you wear is more important the job itself because if you came in looking like you were wearing
something boring every day you re not fit for the culture of the job (Benedictus, 2009). In Andy s case,
she got the job without the prerequisite of the culture of fashion, which is very uncommon in this field

The Principles of the Yin and Yang Essay
The Principles of the Yin and Yang
The principle of the yin and yang is embedded in all facets of my life. But its operations have taken
the subtlest of forms, unfolding through a kind of shy conspiracy, an inner dynamism in the nature of
things. Such qualities are inherent in the way Chinese traditions view things, as the web that has no
weaver, an intricate and interlaced patterns of relationships of all that there is without a known creator
and creation day. It is far different from a historical timeline or a linear logic. It surmises that
everything is related to everything else and lays heavy emphasis on what is now that must be
appreciated and contemplated upon rather than dwelling on the ... Show more content on

When we are conscious, we are awake and aware of internal and external stimuli, thus we are actively
adapting to the circumstances. While asleep, we are still, at ease and relaxed. The Repair Theory of
Sleep has very yin underpinnings, holding that sleep restores, replenishes and rebuild our brains and
bodies that are somehow worn out by day s working activities.
As I step into the world outside my room, I see a bigger picture with more yin and yang relationships.
The social structure is made up of opposing links and overlying relationships. In our patriarchal
society, men (yang) are expected to be the more dominant and influential in decision making vis à vis
women (yin) who are expected to be submissive and docile. Social constructs such as genders have
attached yang characteristics to men and yin characteristics to women creating a gender tension
between. Understandably, in ancient China women are expected to be hidden in their homes, passive
and contracting to give way for a man s active and expansive rule as culturally dictated upon them.
But in reality, men (yang) and women (yin) carries a certain degree of femininity (yin) and
masculinity (yang) respectively. A woman can be assertive and overpowering and a man can be
nurturing and gentle depending on the situation. In

were some of the greatest Military Commanders of their time. Both men were governed by personal

Pros And Cons Of Federal Heights Essay
Located in Colorado s Adams County, Federal Heights is considered a suburb of Denver. Its
population of just over 12,000 citizens gives it a small town vibe, which might make it more appealing
to potential residents who crave relief from city life. Denver is only about seven miles south of
Federal Heights, so it s easily accessible if you crave a meal at a fancy restaurant or an evening at the
theater. In the late 1920s, Harvey Larsen built the first business in Federal Heights a grocery store and

The Life Cycle Of The Lifecycle Of A Mobile Phone
Lifecycle of a Mobile phone A product passes through different stages during its entire lifespan. Each
phase has its own characteristics which mainly defines the performance of the product (Stark, 2015). It
is these unique characteristics that mark the end of one stage and the onset of another. The present
article focused on the lifecycle of a mobile phone. The first phase of the lifecycle of a mobile phone is
referred as the introduction stage. During this phase, the mobile phone is just a new product. The
phone is in good shape with little or no defects. Its rate of power consumption is splendid and all the
safety features are functional. At this stage, the warranty for the new phone is valid, and in case of any

The final stage through which a product passes is referred as the decline stage. At this stage, the
product is approaching the end of its lifespan. The product is characterized by major defects that
include malfunctioning of batteries, broken screens, and erratic behavior of the controls and displays
(Stark, 2015). Such issues significantly impair the functioning of the product and in most cases such
functions cannot be retrieved even with the best technical support. At this stage, the efficiency of the
phone greatly declines. Moreover, such issues are very expensive to rectify. Due to the inefficiency of
the product, it is finally disposed of either by selling it to a dealer or by withdrawing its operations.
Disposal of Compact Discs (CDs) In my neighborhood, the most commonly used method of disposal
of Compact Discs (CDs) is by shredding the discs using a shredding machine and then disposing the

as it seems to be less toxic to the environment (Al Salem, Lettieri Baeyens, 2009). The community in

Helium Stage 9
A Solar Mass Main Sequence Star will stay in its newborn state for about 90% of its life however
when it is time to return to the universe, it must go through many stages before its final curtain call.
Stage 8 is when the star starts to run out of fuel. It has spent close to 10 billion years burning hydrogen
in its core and now it s starting to run low and almost empty of the fuel it requires to keep burning. As
the hydrogen starts to run low, helium levels start to increase in the higher temperature core as well as
on the surface. However, the surface helium isn t as noticeable because it doesn t burn as high or fast
as the inner core. But as the hydrogen completely runs out, the nuclear fusion subsides and a core of
non burning helium grows, forcing the burning of the star to head out of the inner core and up to the
outer core. At this point, the radius of the star starts to grow rapidly because of the gas pressure and
the core shrinks under the pressure of gravity. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is now a Red Giant after about 100 million years. The luminosity of the star has increased to around
100 Sols while still having a tiny core which is about a quarter of the mass of the star.
Stage 10 in the death of a star, you would start to think that with the core collapsing, that the star
would just collapse and break apart. However, this only happens with starts under ¼ Sol and takes
about a hundred billion years at the least. However, a star like our Sun, doesn t die quite that quickly.
Even under all the collapsing and expanding as a Red Giant, the core starts to burn helium in its core.
Once this burning is about 100 million Kelvin and the density in the core has risen to the right level,
the helium begins to fuse with carbon, which causes the reactor in the centre of the star to

The Controversy Over Corporal Punishment In Schools
If you saw a teacher hitting their student, would you think it was okay or would you disagree?
Corporal punishment of any child in school should be illegal in all states. Corporal punishment in
school is causing the student pain in response to undesired behavior. It might involve hitting the
student across the buttocks or the hand with a cane, wooden paddle, slipper, belt, or wooden yardstick
(ruler). With corporal punishment you are not promoting a safe school, you can t sue the teacher who
hit your child if the child gets hurt badly, and your also promoting violence into the vulnerable child s
life; you re making a criminal. But, some might care to see that corporal punishment is okay and we
can have it.
For instance, when you go to school their motto might be, We have a safe school ; Jefferson s motto is
Safe, respectful, and responsible. According to http://www.debate.org/, if there are teachers
corporeally punishing the student as a form of discipline, the child will never feel safe in that school.
Students are supposed to go to their teachers for help but if their teacher is beating them the student
will never ask for help and they will struggle in class, possibly causing grades to go down. Some
schools also have a moto that includes being healthy. If the child was hit hard enough to the point

Analysis Of Diary Of A Wimpy Kid
Have you ever read a book where you read all about a lousy teenagers problems? Maybe even his
whole life. His crazy embarrassing family, and his weirdo friends. Diary of a Wimpy Kid. A great
book written by the one and only Jeff Kinney. Greg Heffley, the main character, is a wimpy kid and
most likely will never change his ways. Someone tries to tell Gregs father, Frank. Frank tries to get his
son to man up a little bit and signs him up for sports and clubs. Which, obviously did not work. ... I
got down off the deck and started climbing up the tree... I couldn t believe my ears. I guess dad felt
like he owed me for saving him yesterday, and this was his way of paying me back (Kinney 109 and
113). The theme of the novel is to be strong because someone will do something about it. The passage
above connects to this theme because Greg had to man up to climb the tree to retrieve his baby
brothers blanket after he threw it into a tree off of the deck. Afterwards, his father did not want to take
a turn playing a game because he did not want to sit next to someone that he did not like. Therefore
Greg took his place and basically saved his life for the day. Although Greg s ways may never change
he definitely made some progress with manning up on that day. One setting from this novel that is
important to this book is the Heffley household. It is important to the book because if it weren t for the
Heffley house, many events would not have happened. Like Greg s dad finding out his

Analytical Essay s Influence On James Buchanan
When James Buchanan ran for president in 1856, his popular vote was 1,838,169 and his electoral
vote was 174. He was running against John C. Breckinridge and the votes were very close. President
Buchanan was the 15th President, and at the age of 65, some people even thought that he was too old
to run their country. Some people called him Old Buck, because of his age. President Buchanan was
not married, but his niece was his housekeeper and was his only close relative, so they named his
niece the First Lady. Her name was Harriet Buchanan.
James Buchanan was part of the democratic party and his salary was $25,000 yearly. He was the first
president to make an effort to abolish slavery. His immediate family never owned a slave but his uncle
did and James Buchanan always thought that it was wrong. He tried to destroy slavery but, the
congress wasn t willing to approve of his idea. James Buchanan s votes were affected because he
wanted to eliminate slavery and that is why the votes were so close. In the 12 states where slavery was
legal, not one person voted for the other candidate, and Buchanan took the majority of votes in those
states. (Burgan 52) ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Pros And Cons Of Nuclear Power Plants
For many decades, Nuclear Power Plants have become a growing argument between the educated and
uneducated. Some have grown towards the growth of these plants for their technological innovations
and environmental benefits. Others have walked away from the deal, repeatedly exclaiming the risks
and money that builds up over time. Though these problems remain open for everyone to see, those
arguments are outdated and overstated. In addition, there are far more positives than the eyes can see,
the negatives, however, are an eyesore. Nuclear power plants will benefit towns for the strict safety
standards, the pricing of a nuclear power plant, promotional factors, and land requirements.
Since the Obninsk Nuclear Power Plant opened in 1954, scientists and engineers have improved the

My Personal Statement On My Life
For as long as I can remember, I was told I could do anything I put my mind to if I was willing to put
forth the effort. My parents played the essential role of providing resources that would instill a good
work ethic and passion in me. While my options are limitless, I have spent most of my academic
career preparing me for a future in scientific research and academia. Enumerable factors have molded
me into the passionate person that I am today, so the answer to Who are you? is not simple but is
rather a culmination of life experiences.
I learned the values of respect, honor, and drive from both my biological family and my church family.
I grew up going to Sunday school in the Episcopal Church where I learned what it meant to have
morals and how to be an all around decent human being. At home, my parents taught me similar
values and lead by example while explaining the importance of kindness towards others. Growing up
in the Episcopal Church has grounded me in such a way that I can find a home and family anywhere
in the world simply by finding a church with the iconic red doors. My spirituality and dedication to
service formed me into a caring person who can never say no to someone in need. The church has
always been my outlet where I can find peace and serenity, so in return I dedicate my time to giving
back in honor of all it has provided for me. The Youth Service Organization (YSO) at my home church

Essay On Exxon
7.0 Background of Exxon
Exxon has evolved into the biggest publicly traded petroleum corporation in the world for over the last
135 years. The corporation started as Standard Oil Trust Company in Ohio was founded by John D.
Rockefeller and his partners in 1870 (Meyers and Holusha, 1986).
In 1911, the U.S. Supreme Court separated Standard Oil into 33 distinct organisations, including
Standard Oil of New (Jersey Standard), Socony Oil, Vacuum Oil and a few organisations that held the
name Standard Oil. Jersey Standard progressed toward becoming Exxon Corporation in 1972. 27

The Prayer Of The Sacred
For most religions, the sacred feels as though it is out of reach or untouchable. One typically cannot
have a direct conversation with whom they consider sacred, so they pray to their god(s), hoping that
their prayers will be heard and answered. Another aspect of following a religion is having a deep
feeling of either love, respect or fear for the sacred. No matter the feeling, it is critical for one who
follows it to reach out with prayer and tell their sacred how they feel, profess their faith and ask for
guidance. Inside sacred texts, there may be scriptures which are considered privileged and normative
for a particular tradition (Sacred Quest. Cunningham). Scriptures such as The Lord s Prayer or the
Shema follow that definition ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In Christianity, Heaven is the holy place where one who deserves it, goes after death. It is considered
among Christians a place where there is no pain, no sadness, only happiness and light. Next, it says ,
hallowed be thy name (Lord s Prayer. Traditional).. Essentially the speaker is again, acknowledging
not only the importance of the name of the sacred, but again reiterating that the sacred is so far above
the speaker, that they must address that even as they are speaking to him. The next line goes, Thy
kingdom come, thy will be done, on Earth as it is Heaven (Lord s Prayer. Traditional).. The speaker is
saying that they bode to the will of their Lord, though he is in Heaven and they are on Earth. No
matter the distance between the sacred and the speaker, they will do the Lords bidding as he says.
Next it goes, Give us this day, our daily bread (Lord s Prayer. Traditional).. The meaning behind this
line is that the speaker is asking the sacred to give them the day and the time and the means to do get
through it. Religion is a very powerful entity and when people are going through struggles, often they
will turn to the sacred for guidance and help. The speaker is asking the Lord to help them get through
what they are going through by giving them what they need to do it, (i.e. the daily bread). Next, the
speaker says And forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us (Lord s Prayer.

Emotional Labor Among Paralegals By Jennifer Piere
Emotional Labor among Paralegals by Jennifer Pierce is centered around the phrase emotional labor.
After reading the article the reader discovers that the phrase emotional labor refers to when an
employee has to push their feelings aside in order to please or influence their boss or clients.
Emotional labor also consists of two components which are difference and caretaking. According to
Goffman, (as cited by Pierce) deference is a type of ceremonial activity which functions as symbolic
means by which appreciation is regularly conveyed to the recipient (129). Nevertheless, care taking is
when the paralegal attends to the attorneys needs and assumes a mother role by being pleasant and
giving reassurance. Emotional labor is conducted by both female and male paralegals; nevertheless,

Male paralegals are allowed to be neutral or polite which results in them putting a lid on their
emotions. For instance, Peirce mentions a paralegal named Bill who was always tactful, courteous,
and considerate of other people s feelings but never overly solicitous (135). This means that even
though Bill cared about other people s feelings he would never actually be interested in them. On the
other hand, female paralegals are expected to be actively involved. For example, Peirce mentions a
paralegal named Lisa who was warm, friendly, and outgoing... was always cheerful. She tried to
please people by remembering their birthdays and cheering them up when they were down (135). This
line shows that unlike Bill, Lisa was actually interested in other people s feelings and tries to please
other people. Furthermore. Male paralegals distance themselves by using criticism and contempt. To
illustrate, this Peirce mentions a paralegal named Tony who criticized another paralegal for being

The Curriculum For Excellence And Education
The Curriculum for Excellence, introduced in 2014, aims to transform education in Scotland for ages
3 18. It intends to progress the standards of education and learning in the country by moving away
from more traditional methods of teaching. This strategy, developed by the Scottish Government,
recognises that learning is a lifelong process, beginning at birth, and therefore it is important to
employ methods which prepare children from a young age for a life of work. In order to do so, the
curriculum is based on seven key principles which are designed to provide young people with the
knowledge and skills for life in the 21st century. This knowledge and skill is learnt through
experiences and opportunities which are carefully planned for each age group, encouraging space for
learning out with the standard school subject boundaries. The programme has four main outcomes
prompting children to become successful learners, confident individuals, responsible citizens and
effective contributors. Once an individual has completed the education programme, reflections of the
curriculum s purpose can be assessed in the child or young person to see if they have met the proposed
outcomes and therefore determining the overall success.
One of the key principles of the curriculum is Health and Wellbeing. This area focuses on the
development and maintenance of young people s mental, emotional, social and physical health. As
well as promoting a healthy lifestyle, full of activity, challenge and

Montana 1948 Abusing Power
Montana 1948 by Larry Watson is a novel set during the time of post Second World War in the rural
town of Bentrock located in Mercer County, Montana USA. There are a series of events that occur
which demonstrate how abusing power can result in catastrophic consequences which affect both
individuals and communities. Characters Frank, Julian, Wes, and the whole white community abused
their capabilities which resulted in negative outcomes. Local doctor Frank Hayden is one of the many
people in the Bentrock community to overstep his power and mistreat it. By sexually abusing a
debilitated minority Sioux women he was able to commit his crimes under a cover of fear, social

Wes has carried out traits that past sheriff and father has enforced. This includes obvious and casual
racism and also the importance to family loyalty. What makes Julian and Wes different is that Wes
learns that justice is more important in a society than loyalty. By believing in this, his abuse of power
has had lesser consequences but they are still significant in the novel. Wes is responsible for the Frank

going to treat his brother the same as any other criminal that he d pass in his job. Instead of jailing
Frank in the town jail, Wes finds his own basement as the most suitable option. In practicality,
prisoning Frank in a basement is not the best or safest option, especially for the people who live above

Revelation 20
The thousand years in Revelation is only used six times and only in chapter 20 between verses 2 7. In
verse 7 it is a reference to after the thousand years and in this paper we will concentrate on verses 1 6
which focus on the thousand years themselves. Since a thousand years equals a millennium this term
we will be used interchangeably from this point forward. The millennium in Revelation 20 is only
used in reference to the reign of Jesus Christ after Satan the devil has been imprisoned. There are three
main views on this millennial reign they are Amillennial, Postmillennial, and Premillennial. While
there is much debate over the differences, all three views believe that Jesus is coming again, that there
will be a physical resurrection ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The classical postmillennial view sees the millennium as a near future event. The modern
postmillennial view sees us as currently in the millennium. The postmillennial millennium may be an
actual or symbolic (long time) thousand years. Both see that by spreading the gospel, the church will
cause the world to continuously improve till the entire world comes to Christ. The conclusion of the
millennium will be the second coming of Jesus Christ and the defeat of the Devil. The view that the
church needs to continue spread the gospel and should except Christ to return at any time is correct.
As for the world continuing to improve it would seem to this author that the world is currently going
in the wrong direction. Gay and lesbian marriage has been legalized, abortion has been legalized, and
President Obama has said that we are not a Christian country. The Olivet Discourse (Matt 24; MK 13;
LK 21) does not lead one to see peace on earth before the return of Christ. It actually teaches the
opposite. How can we have the millennial reign of Christ and have false messiahs and prophets, wars,
famines, pestilence, persecution, and earthquakes? The postmillennial view requires that we ignore the
world s current state, and constrain the Olivet Discourse to the Jews of that time and the end of the
world as they knew

Body Cameras And The Law Enforcement Officers
In todays society, American citizens are unpleased with the law enforcement officers. These officers
are here protecting the people of America, and to get the people doing the wrong things off the street
so the rest of the people can be safe. In the past few months, there have been shootings of American
citizens, and shootings of law enforcement officers. The people of society are only seeing the bad side
of police officers, and never understand the whole story when needed to be heard. As the internet
continues to expand, the promises it makes is beyond human understanding (Carr 56). The internet
and television are the most complex form of technology, and only portray the bad side of cops. The
idea of multimedia is to combine text, sound, and pictures in a single package that you browse on
screen (Gelernter 97). The idea of body cameras put in the uniforms of the law enforcement officers
has been talked about, so that everyone can see the exact truth of the situation. The idea of body
cameras for the law enforcement officers has it benefits and drawbacks. I think having the body
cameras will greatly benefit the law enforcement officers in society today and in the future.
To begin with, allowing body cameras as a part of a law enforcement officers uniform would be
beneficial to the police officer. A benefit of having body cameras is decreasing complaints filed
against police officers. One of the most favored advantages brought about by body cameras is the

Privacy Is One Of The Problems Of Media Privacy
Now a day, privacy is one of the problems of media ethics in our life. The Longman dictionary defines
privacy as the state of being able to be alone, not seen or heard by other people, and free from public
attention. We may recognize that it is simple to keep privacy; nonetheless, journalists and people don t
keep it even through they know that it is important.
Furthermore, the tendency that it will be fine even if you do not keep privacy is getting stronger year
by year. One of the reasons is because technology is developing rapidly in the world. This evidence is
that a lot of people bring with them their smart phones and computers to the evidence of this. Stefano
Taddei said, The results suggest practical implications for online social network providers, most of all
with regard to privacy policies in online environments (2013). In the future, the providers will develop
and affect us positive and negative through using technology.
I believe that privacy is most important for the future because privacy is the origin of the media ethics,
which is about indecency, control, and truthfulness. I think that privacy is a problem of particular
importance concerning human s virtue in this time.
First, the problem is indecency. Some argue that indecency in media encourages people to mimic the
behavior they see in the news stories from sensational movies. They are prevalent to even children
recently; moreover, these influences will remain strong even when the children became

The Characters In Jerry Spinelli s Stargirl
Outrageous? he enquired, I hope so. Thank goodness for the outrageous among us. Jerry Spinelli, the
author of Stargirl, shut down questions about his characters being unrealistic. In this case, Spinelli is
referring to Stargirl, a nonconformist girl among monochromatic peers. She stays true to herself,
despite shunning taunts, so impressively that some may say she s quixotic. However, people like
Stargirl are, have been, and always will be all around us, although not as dramatic as portrayed by
Spinelli, she represents our inner, creative and insurrectionist self.
People may say Stargirl is idealistic, but that s the point! Both the blandness of the students at Mica
High and Stargirl s eccentricity are greatly exaggerated. It was meant to be on the border of fantasy
reality. The story, and in particular the characters, are intended to raise dust in the corners of
credibility. To challenge our routine way of seeing ourselves, noted Spinelli in a book interview.

Indentured Servants During The Colonial Era
Labor in colonial America was scarce. Explain the development of using indentured servants for labor
in the colonies. Below are some of the items you may include:
Indentured servants? beginning and decline
Changes, problems, and issues with indentured servant labor
Unintended consequences of using indentured servants
During the colonial era, was it better to be an indentured servant, or a slave? In current day, one could
argue that both are preposterous notions, however for the time, was either beneficial for anyone?
Looking back on how to country developed following this time, through the years of slavery in the
civil war, it may look like the only people to benefit from slavery or having an indentured servant, is
the owner. Despite how either has looked throughout many of the eras of this country, being an
indentured servant had very good potential for benefiting the servant. One may ask, how could anyone
benefit from being a servant? Even though this may seem like a very logical question, to those
involved in this life style, it all made sense. Let?s take a look at it from their point of view. When early
settlers were attempting to colonize here in the new land, the first successful colony wasn?t actually
established by the English government. In fact, it had been the successful venture of a privately owned
business, The Virginia Company of London. This company was actually comprised of investors with
seemingly good intentions. Their end goal was to extend

Comparing Muir And Wordsworth
Naturalism is a style and theory of representation based on the accurate depiction of detail. These
writers use several different techniques of writing. The one most often used by the two is using nature
to represent emotion. In Muir s essay and Wordsworth s poem, both writers have expressed their
relationships with nature through poetry and diction.
Firstly, Muir and Wordsworth use both similar and different techniques when they write. Muir wrote
an essay that often used hopeful tones called The Calypso Borealis . He used dialect as well to
represent the way people he met spoke: Mony a puir body has been lost in that muckle, cauld, dreary
bog and never been found. By using dialect, he was able to bring accents and poor speech to life.

Amontillado Flaws
Written by Edgar Allan Poe, The Cask of Amontillado is a short horror story. In the story, Poe leads
the reader from a costume party to a dark dungeon almost seamlessly. As the narrator lures an
unsuspecting man to to his death, the reader doesn t even notice until said man is trapped behind a
brick wall and left to die. Poe does leave some stray strands behind for the reader to follow as he
weaves his story together, however, and he does so in three specific ways. In The Cask of Amontillado
, Edgar Allan Poe uses flawed characters, physical setting, and dialogue between the characters to
create a creepy, unsettling mood that instills fear and terror into the reader.
First, Poe uses emotionally and mentally flawed characters to create a tone of fear and terror that is
seeded throughout the whole story, wherever the characters go. Fortunato, a comically prideful and

Women In Colonial Georgia
Women were very important to the colony in georgia ever since it was established. The women had to
fulfill their role as traditional women. The task of men and women were complementary; there work
required both labor and stability. Throughout the colonial period women came to georgia and settled
with families and religious groups, or sometimes by themselves seeking a new start. They came to
georgia as wives, mother, daughters, or sometimes alone as servants or slaves. The women were either
English, Salzburger, German, Scots, Irish, Sephardic Jews, and African, after 1750, when slavery

Early doubt about the female colonists began to fade. The Founding Trustee, James Oglethorpe
eventually came to appreciate the value of women, even in the southern soldiers town closest to the

man was very great at causing trouble. Efforts increased to give passage to wives, sisters, and
daughters. Family formed the basic structural element of society, and so marriage was highly
encouraged. The variation of men and women made women valuable and marriageable. The men were
the head of the family who used the legal rights of a household. A married woman was a feme covert,
whose legal existence, was suspended during the marriage, or at least incorporated and consolidated
into that of the husband, according to the British Law. A feme covert did have dower rights, which
gave her claim to property in case of a husband s death, she had to renounce this claim of dower to
any land of the husband before he could sell it. A woman s role was to be a loving Wife, an
affectionate Mother, and a true housekeeper. Divorce was not allowed, but some women escaped from
marriage by running away, and there were few ways for them to support themselves. Most marriages,

In real life, humans have many traits that allow us to be considered top of the hierarchical food chain,
yet allow us to remain in classifications with animal species mammals. Humans are a highly
developed species, with abilities that surpass nearly all other animals on the planet. This being said,
this complexity allows for many conflicts to arise, as well as differing opinions on solutions. Although
humans are so evolved, some argue that animal instincts found in humans are still quite prevalent. In
The Walking Dead, the virus being embedded in everyone s brain could be a reflection of humans
inherent animalistic qualities. If we continue with this analogy, the virus could represent the potential
that every human has to become a monster (in a figurative sense in reality, or a literal sense in the
series). This furthers the idea that zombie narratives tend to mirror societies fears and anxieties over
the condition of the world, or possible events that could occur, all while placing responsibility at the
hands of humanity. Although The Walking Dead in particular does not explain the cause of the
outbreak, or blame humanity, it does reflect how humanity can take charge of the situation as well as

Before attempting to say what were the causes of the American Civil War, first let me say what were
not the causes of this war. Perhaps the most beautiful, the most poetic, the most eloquent statement of
what the Civil War was not fought for is Lincoln s Gettysburg Address. That address will live as long

A systematic study of both northern and southern opinion as expressed in their newspapers, speeches,

democratic and identical. However, theoretical adherence to the democratic principles, as veil we
know all too well in these days of plutocratic influences in our political life, is not sufficient evidence
that democratic government exists. I believe that I shall not be challenged in the assertion that the
economic structure of a section or a nation is the foundation upon which its political structure must
rest. For this reason, therefore, it will be necessary to know what the economic foundations of these
sections were. Was the economic structure of the North such as to support a political democracy in
fact as well as in form? And was the economic structure of the South such as to permit the existence of
free government? Time does not permit an extended treatment of this subject; it will be possible only

Canada to be an autonomous nation. The trigger of the Canadian foundation was the British War in

independence that the British parliament decided Canada as the Canadian Commonwealth of Britain at

This is the reason why Canadian citizens agreed with the idea that British colony Canada be together

  • 2. A Hospice Nurse Reflection Paper In the last few months, I have been blessed with the opportunity of working as a hospice nurse delivering the utmost care to those who are terminally ill with weeks to hours to live. Working here I have found myself filled with many emotions of sadness, anger, love, compassion, empathy, happiness, and the list goes on. My goal and mission is to deliver the core values of AR Hospice and bring compassion that will allow my patients to die with ease, peacefulness, and freedom. I have learned to love and appreciate what this job has encircled me with. This profession has taught me to appreciate every moment in life and love those today who are dear to you. Just recently a coworker stopped me, pulled me into a room and said, Don t wait till I m at my funeral, to hand me flowers, (meaning to show appreciation now and not at my funeral). I looked in disarray. She wanted to show her appreciation to me, acknowledging how great of a nurse I was to our patients and families and how I show true compassion. On an evening in July, I had the opportunity to take care of Mrs. X who was minimally responsive the time she made it to my unit. She had been battling an illness for years and it had begun to take her to her final destination. Mrs. X was transferred from an ICU unit where her liver had begun to fail, her abdomen was tight, distended and filled with fluid; her skin and sclera was jaundice and it was evident that her kidney was failing too. Mrs. X had a loving large family and a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

They do not wish any harm on others. Ahimsa is derived from the Indian religion of Jainism which is one of the most ancient religions in India. One of the primary focal points of Jainism is that live human beings relationships and soul with other human beings bring about the natural revelation of Ahimsa as the justification of the religion. Ahimsa s focus is non violence, peaceful harmony with all things, and love. A Jain lives in Ahimsa by practicing these similar characteristics because Jainism is the world s most peaceful religion. Jainism is a religion that believes in non violence and the proper treatment of everything on this earth. Jains believe that just thinking thoughts of another person is considered violence. Jains should not use words that could injure or give unhappiness to one another. Jains will walk on sidewalk and sweep as their walking to avoid killing an ant or some sort of bug, they are also taught to let animals live and die a natural death. Even though they know nonviolence cannot be perfectly practiced they try their best to live it. Each Jain is responsible for its own salvation. Aparigraha is one of the fundamental doctrines of Jainism, somewhat like Ahimsa and Anekantvad derived from Sanskrit. Aparigraha stands for non possession, non attachment, and non greed. • 4. Case Study Sealed Air Sealed Air was faced with two different options regarding the prospective launch of an uncoated bubble packaging product. Sealed Air could either launch the product worldwide or in selected locations or consider the option of not entering the uncoated bubble packaging market at all. As with all the evaluation of all new product market entry strategies, Sealed Air must first consider its organizational strengths and how they relate to the potential product launch. More specifically, Sealed Air must be cognizant of their widely respected brand of high quality and superior performance coated bubble packages. With the potential launch of an uncoated bubble packaging product, Sealed Air risks diluting their brand value, particularly in the quality and performance conscious US market. There is also the possibility that the introduction of an uncoated bubble wrap product might negate the consumer education the organization has previously performed regarding the advantages of coated bubble products. An additional organizational strength of Sealed Air is their corporate management goal of both market leadership and technological innovation. Entry into the uncoated product market would diverge from both goals, as Sealed Air would be neither the market leader nor the technological innovator. A reactionary entry into the market would be contrary to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It was not a welcomed union by her father. He felt that Bill, being the first male in his household would be a burden to his daughter. Traditionally, the first son was to take on the responsibilities of the two households, which Bill could not afford at the time. It was like a spectacle on the news as one would watch news of the war in Iraqi. The black community in Los Angeles was dividing within itself. Black men and women that found work in good paying jobs started expanding into more affluent neighborhoods and became Bill s neighbors. Similarly to Bill, they were able to send their children to better private and public schools. They moved in and around neighborhoods like Crenshaw, Northridge, Baldwin Hills, and even parts of forbidden Orange County. An analysis of income distribution in black Los Angeles between 1970 and 1990 revealed the polarizing effects of the decline in the low skilled and semi skilled employment among blacks. David M. Grant and colleagues found that between 1970 and 1990 the number of blacks in the poorest quintile and the wealthiest quintile increased significantly, while the number of blacks in the middle three quintiles decreased by as much as 30 percent. (Sides, 202) Latino migration was easier than that of Black Americans. White neighbors found Latinos more tolerable and considered them the ambiguous relationship to whiteness. 1 But they too had their limitations of acceptance into the white neighborhoods. Their acceptance became predicated on the lightness of their skin and their ability ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Andy Sachs s Love For Fashion Andy Sachs, a young aspired journalist, seeking for a job finds herself employed by Runway Magazine, a fashion magazine as an Assistant to the Chief Editor. While initially accepting the position, Andy had to learn the details of the job and the culture of the business. However, Andy took on the challenge and felt that she could manage the hideous culture of fashion, behaviors, and attitudes of her coworkers in order to survive for at least a year until she finds a journalist position of her liking. The perception of people who involve themselves in this line of career, according to Benedictus (2009) are those that have a love for fashion, that s why they re doing it. It s almost like a little bit of a social atmosphere when you come in every day. Like when girls go out at night and they see what each other is wearing. It s nice. But in Andy s case, she felt that it was just a job and the fashion was not her purpose for accepting the job at Runway. People would die to have the opportunity to work there. The work attire is crucial when the clothes of what you wear is more important the job itself because if you came in looking like you were wearing something boring every day you re not fit for the culture of the job (Benedictus, 2009). But its operations have taken the subtlest of forms, unfolding through a kind of shy conspiracy, an inner dynamism in the nature of things. Such qualities are inherent in the way Chinese traditions view things, as the web that has no weaver, an intricate and interlaced patterns of relationships of all that there is without a known creator and creation day. It is far different from a historical timeline or a linear logic. Helium Stage 9 A Solar Mass Main Sequence Star will stay in its newborn state for about 90% of its life however when it is time to return to the universe, it must go through many stages before its final curtain call. Stage 8 is when the star starts to run out of fuel. It has spent close to 10 billion years burning hydrogen in its core and now it s starting to run low and almost empty of the fuel it requires to keep burning. As the hydrogen starts to run low, helium levels start to increase in the higher temperature core as well as on the surface. However, the surface helium isn t as noticeable because it doesn t burn as high or fast as the inner core. But as the hydrogen completely runs out, the nuclear fusion subsides and a core of non burning helium grows, forcing the burning of the star to head out of the inner core and up to the outer core. Corporal punishment of any child in school should be illegal in all states. Corporal punishment in school is causing the student pain in response to undesired behavior. It might involve hitting the student across the buttocks or the hand with a cane, wooden paddle, slipper, belt, or wooden yardstick (ruler). With corporal punishment you are not promoting a safe school, you can t sue the teacher who hit your child if the child gets hurt badly, and your also promoting violence into the vulnerable child s life; you re making a criminal. But, some might care to see that corporal punishment is okay and we can have it. For instance, when you go to school their motto might be, We have a safe school ; Jefferson s motto is Safe, respectful, and responsible. According to http://www.debate.org/, if there are teachers corporeally punishing the student as a form of discipline, the child will never feel safe in that school. Students are supposed to go to their teachers for help but if their teacher is beating them the student will never ask for help and they will struggle in class, possibly causing grades to go down. His crazy embarrassing family, and his weirdo friends. Diary of a Wimpy Kid. A great book written by the one and only Jeff Kinney. Greg Heffley, the main character, is a wimpy kid and most likely will never change his ways. Someone tries to tell Gregs father, Frank. Frank tries to get his son to man up a little bit and signs him up for sports and clubs. Which, obviously did not work. ... I got down off the deck and started climbing up the tree... I couldn t believe my ears. I guess dad felt like he owed me for saving him yesterday, and this was his way of paying me back (Kinney 109 and 113). The theme of the novel is to be strong because someone will do something about it. The passage above connects to this theme because Greg had to man up to climb the tree to retrieve his baby brothers blanket after he threw it into a tree off of the deck. Afterwards, his father did not want to take a turn playing a game because he did not want to sit next to someone that he did not like. Therefore Greg took his place and basically saved his life for the day. Although Greg s ways may never change he definitely made some progress with manning up on that day. Emotional labor also consists of two components which are difference and caretaking. • 23. The Curriculum For Excellence And Education The Curriculum for Excellence, introduced in 2014, aims to transform education in Scotland for ages 3 18. It intends to progress the standards of education and learning in the country by moving away from more traditional methods of teaching. This strategy, developed by the Scottish Government, recognises that learning is a lifelong process, beginning at birth, and therefore it is important to employ methods which prepare children from a young age for a life of work. In order to do so, the curriculum is based on seven key principles which are designed to provide young people with the knowledge and skills for life in the 21st century. This knowledge and skill is learnt through experiences and opportunities which are carefully planned for each age group, encouraging space for learning out with the standard school subject boundaries. The programme has four main outcomes prompting children to become successful learners, confident individuals, responsible citizens and effective contributors. Once an individual has completed the education programme, reflections of the curriculum s purpose can be assessed in the child or young person to see if they have met the proposed outcomes and therefore determining the overall success. One of the key principles of the curriculum is Health and Wellbeing. This area focuses on the development and maintenance of young people s mental, emotional, social and physical health. The Founding Trustee, James Oglethorpe eventually came to appreciate the value of women, even in the southern soldiers town closest to the Spanish border. James encouraged the Trust to send hardworking wives with recruits because a single man was very great at causing trouble. Efforts increased to give passage to wives, sisters, and daughters. Family formed the basic structural element of society, and so marriage was highly encouraged. The variation of men and women made women valuable and marriageable. The men were the head of the family who used the legal rights of a household. A married woman was a feme covert, whose legal existence, was suspended during the marriage, or at least incorporated and consolidated into that of the husband, according to the British Law. A feme covert did have dower rights, which gave her claim to property in case of a husband s death, she had to renounce this claim of dower to any land of the husband before he could sell it. A woman s role was to be a loving Wife, an affectionate Mother, and a true housekeeper. Divorce was not allowed, but some women escaped from marriage by running away, and there were few ways for them to support themselves. Most marriages, ended because of the death, and in Georgia that could mean short marriages and equally brief window ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 36. The Walking Dead Persuasive Essay without authority, and steal, kill, rape, and live without fear of consequences. Others chose to maintain the exact system that was in place before the outbreak, choosing to follow the rules with a new leader in place. A few individuals become obsessed with power and run a dictatorship that ultimately ends in destruction, war, and segregation. Some, such as Rick s group, chose to adapt to the new ways of life while maintaining some of the basic authorative social structures that were in place before the outbreak. As the series progresses, a pattern begins to develop that only one of these ways of living proves successful. Of course, this is Rick s method. The groups who lose touch with the previous ways of life completely become so dehumanized ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In real life, humans have many traits that allow us to be considered top of the hierarchical food chain, yet allow us to remain in classifications with animal species mammals. Humans are a highly developed species, with abilities that surpass nearly all other animals on the planet. This being said, this complexity allows for many conflicts to arise, as well as differing opinions on solutions. Although humans are so evolved, some argue that animal instincts found in humans are still quite prevalent. In The Walking Dead, the virus being embedded in everyone s brain could be a reflection of humans inherent animalistic qualities. If we continue with this analogy, the virus could represent the potential that every human has to become a monster (in a figurative sense in reality, or a literal sense in the series). This furthers the idea that zombie narratives tend to mirror societies fears and anxieties over the condition of the world, or possible events that could occur, all while placing responsibility at the hands of humanity. Although The Walking Dead in particular does not explain the cause of the outbreak, or blame humanity, it does reflect how humanity can take charge of the situation as well as express moral values that humanity should strive ... • 37. The Civil War Essay The Civil War In this meeting of the Southern Historical Association great emphasis has been placed upon a re examination of numerous phases of our history relating to the Civil War. While several papers have dealt with certain forces which helped bring about the Civil War, none has attempted a general synthesis of causes. This synthesis has been the task assumed by the retiring president of the Association. Before attempting to say what were the causes of the American Civil War, first let me say what were not the causes of this war. Perhaps the most beautiful, the most poetic, the most eloquent statement of what the Civil War was not fought for is Lincoln s Gettysburg Address. That address will live as long as Americans retain their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A systematic study of both northern and southern opinion as expressed in their newspapers, speeches, diaries, and private letters, gives irrefutable evidence in support of this assertion. Their ideology was democratic and identical. However, theoretical adherence to the democratic principles, as veil we know all too well in these days of plutocratic influences in our political life, is not sufficient evidence that democratic government exists. I believe that I shall not be challenged in the assertion that the economic structure of a section or a nation is the foundation upon which its political structure must rest. For this reason, therefore, it will be necessary to know what the economic foundations of these sections were. Was the economic structure of the North such as to support a political democracy in fact as well as in form? And was the economic structure of the South such as to permit the existence of free government? Time does not permit an extended treatment of this subject; it will be possible only to point out certain conclusions based upon recent research. By utilizing the county tax books and the unpublished census reports a group of us conducting a cooperative undertaking have been able to obtain a reasonably accurate and specific picture of wealth structure of the antebellum South, and to some extent that of the other sections. We have paid particular ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 38. Canadian Confederation Research Paper Canadian Confederation In 1867 I picked up Confederation as a topic from the book I studied in class since I really enjoyed talking about the beginning of Canadian history, and it was very interesting for me to search about. In this paper, I shall state about Canadian confederation with some information from the discussion in class and the Internet. Basically, how Canada became a country is because the British government allowed Canada to be an autonomous nation. The trigger of the Canadian foundation was the British War in 1812. In order to combat the United States which aimed at consolidation of Canada, it was a step to independence that the British parliament decided Canada as the Canadian Commonwealth of Britain at that time on July 1, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... According to professor Brian Mcneill, people started using two languages when Sir John Alexander Macdonald became the first prime minister of Canada. More specifically, it was believed people used to think that people who spoke English could not make any good relationships between them and people who spoke French, however, Mr. Macdonald proved that people who were from English speaking countries could get along well with people who were from French speaking countries by showing citizens the actual great connections between Mr. Macdonald and his friend from France. This is the reason why Canadian citizens agreed with the idea that British colony Canada be together with French speaking territory Quebec as one nation, and then Canada became English French mixed country. From this story, this is very clear to understand how important the Canadian Confederation is on the Canadian ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
