My Classroom Management Plan	Ashley House
Let’s Get Started!SugarPleaseEach class day will begin with one of these exercises. It helps stimulate the brain and get ready for class. Starting the day this way puts the students in a daily routine which promotes good classroom management! Can you guess what these really say?The Apple
My Teaching PhilosophyI will produce a safe, fun, and cooperative environment for learning. Discipline will be given immediately and when necessary. Every student will have a clean slate in my classroom each day. Each student will be given the individual attention they need to succeed.
Behavior ExpectationsMy students should be respectful to me, their materials, and their classmates. They should also be ready to learn each day!
During the weeks before school…Six weeks activities preparedSeating charts prepared
Classroom Motto“Only we can make learning fun.“

Classroom Rules	I will use the originals in the beginning.Yes ma’am, No ma’am. (Ron Clark)Add more rules when I see necessaryNo student inputFor each rule, there is a consequence
ConsequencesEach rule has a separate consequence/ punishment.Consequences will be given immediately following the rule infraction. No exceptions to the rule unless completely necessary. Hierarchy of consequences. The severity of the rule = the severity of the consequence. Write up a student only if sever behavior distraction continues. If threatening or persistent, send the student to the office.
Contact with Parents and GuardiansFirst day of class:Provide index card to each student to bring home. Have the parents or guardians fill out the card with students name, parents or guardians names, email address and phone numbersAlso any food allergies, and illness or behavioral problems that I need to be aware of.Consider it an easy quiz grade!
Contact with Parents and GuardiansEmail each students parents or guardians letting them know who I am and what is expected of their child in the classroom. Will also keep them updated with any upcoming projects, assignments, and exams.Parents can be used as motivation to do school work at home.
Individual Behavioral IssuesLove and Logic’s “I noticed” technique.Makes students aware that they are being monitored and are being noticed for not only the bad things but the good things they do. Promotes self discipline and good behavior
The Special Population of StudentsEvery student will be treated fairly and equally in the classroom. They will be given any individual attention they need to succeed.Do not make them feel different. They are apart of the community.
Motivation = Good BehaviorThe knowledge of a consequence can be motivation. Possible party or movie days if students turn in homework within the first few minutes of class.Sitting in chairs once the bell rings, class participation during review games. No reward or punishment for grades unless it is majority that did not do well
InstructionLesson Planning:Plan the classroom activities according to the assigned curriculumWill never simply lecture for an entire class period, always include the students in some sort of activity. Group activities, reading along, helping give examples, role play, guess what may happen, random interesting fact sheets about the lessonHelps build sense of a community
Daily Procedures and RoutinesStarting the day…Welcome each student to the classroom. Turn in assignments within the first minute of class. Once I begin class, it may be considered late.Look at phrase pictures Example: Pretty please with sugar on topClass activity/lesson will pertain to the chapter.Lots of group activities, projects, and/ or games that may include roll playing or mach debates!
Daily Procedures and RoutinesEnding the day…Review what we had done and how it pertains to the chapter/ lesson for the dayGo over every upcoming assignment and/ or project within the next few weeks. Ask for any questions regarding these assignments.Remind students of tutorial times

Editor's Notes

  • #3 First Answer: Pretty please with sugar on topSecond Answer: The big apple
  • #5 I will tell them this the first day of class. I will also relay the message that without respect for myself and others, proper learning cannot take place. To help students respect me and each other, we will do community builders in the beginning week of class.
  • #6 Because I believe a good teacher has almost everything ready for each day before a six week begins, I will be prepared. Preparing a seating chart for the first day can help a student get to know another classmate
  • #9 Originals such as… do not talk without being called on, say yes or no maam, treat others as you want to be treated, do not cheat on any assignment, turn everything in on time
