2. Drama Room, Trinity Academy Halifax
This room will be used as the main location for the performance of the music video.
I will record here during the afternoon after school, because only then will this location be
available.
The advantages of using this location is that it’s very big and has lights I can decide what will
do e.g. flash, different colours. An issue that may arise is a change in when the room will be
available which may create problems with the schedule of filming the music video. The music
video may have a black back drop behind Alfie during the performance, which the location
already has.

3. Faraday, Trinity Academy Halifax
This room is used for the performance of the music video.
This room also has a 3D Cinema Projector which I may use in the music video, it in can project
images, videos and work documents in the Faraday. It will be used to project lights of different
colours while Alfie does the performance to make the music video more visually interesting. I will set
this up before filming the performance; no one is supposed to be seen using the projector in the
background of the video. You will see the prop anytime the performance in the Faraday is shown
which may be quite often. This item is important because it’s used to make the music video look more
interesting and appealing to the audience. It defies the indie genre because it’s realistic ally very
expensive and doesn’t conform to the low budget and cheap props and settings indie music videos
have.
I will record here during the afternoon after school, because only then will this location be available,
and because there will be less people around so we won’t bother anyone with noise.
An advantage of using this location is that it is somewhat modern making it look visually appealing.
An issue that may arise is also that the room may not be available some days causing problems in the
schedule during production. For lighting, I will either turn the lights off in the Faraday, or close the
curtains and use the small projector section of the room and use the projections from the projector as
lighting.

4. Beechwood Park, Halifax
This location is used for the performance of the music video.
I will record here either in the evening after school or on the weekend during the day, because it will
be those times where me and Alfie will both be free to film.
An advantage of using this location is that it has lots of free space which means that I can film the
video in different places in the park for more variation, such as on paths, further in where there’s
more trees reminiscent of a forest, or right in the centre where the surroundings are clear and empty.
These are good for my video because it gives my music video variety in the types of settings and
creates a sense of freedom which the video portrays in the narrative and lyrics.

5. Dance Studio, Trinity Academy Halifax
This location may also be used for the performance of the music video.
This will also be recorded in the afternoon after school or during the day on the weekend because
that’s when we will have far more spare time to film the shots, and because it reflects the lyrics since
the brightness relates to happiness.
An advantage of filming here is that it’s a large, empty area so no objects will be in the way during
filming limiting where we can position cameras. An issue that may arise is also that the room may not
be available some days causing problems in the schedule during production. I will use the direction of
the mirror as the backdrop, I think that good shots could be used when showing the protagonist’s
reflection as well as the actual actor in the same shot, the side of the room I will use when not using
the mirror is the wall with the windows as I believe it will be useful for lighting. I will be careful to have
suitable backdrops when shooting in this location; you might see lots of different doors for
equipment or lead to other rooms and pieces of sports equipment in the room which aren’t very
appealing in music videos.

6. Music Practice Room, Trinity Academy Halifax
This room is used for the performance of the music video.
I will record here during the school day and during the afternoon after school, because during the
day I can book the room if I have a free lesson with Alfie to do filming, or after school when the
room is most likely free.
An advantage of using this room is that it’s similar to a recording studio, which relates to the indie
genre of using cheap locations so will suit my music video. Also, a bigger room is next to this one
which has different musical equipment such as guitars and drums which we can use if we want to
include some shots of instruments. An issues that may arise is if a shot displays the bigger room
with the instruments which is actually a classroom and would not look appealing in my music video.

7. Bedroom (My Room/Alfie’s Room) (Halifax)
This room is used for the narrative of the music video, and will be either in my room or Alfie’s room.
In the video it is meant to be Alfie’s room in the narrative.
This will be recorded either during the afternoon after school or in the middle of the day during the
weekend, because Alfie will be free to record the shots at his house or I come over to his house and
film it, and because it reflects the lyrics because the brightness relates to happiness.
The advantage using this location is because there are no limitations to when we will be able to it
because it’s not like in school where rooms are booked on certain times of the day.

8. Scotland Cabin Site
This location is used for the narrative of the music video.
I filmed this during the day because the brightness and blue sky represent happiness which is what
the character is supposed to feel when in this location.
An advantage of filming here is that there was lots of open space and different locations I could
have filmed in, and there was no problem with booking a certain area. An arose where one of the
shots had my reflection, so I improved and filmed new shot instead of the part with the reflection
and cuts to the original shot when there isn’t a reflection.

9. Street (Beechwood Road + Brickfield Lane)
This location is used for the performance of the music video. This street is also used to present
the character’s normal surroundings and lifestyle.
This will be recorded either in the afternoon after school or on the weekend during the day,
because in both we will be most likely free and have lots of have to do the shots we need, and
because it reflects the lyrics because the brightness relates to happiness.
An advantage of filming here is that there is no problem with when we are allowed to film here
because it’s not booked like classroom in school.

10. Town (Halifax)
This location is used for the performance of the music video.
This will also be recorded either in the afternoon after school or in the evening during the weekend,
because we will have far more spare time during these times, and because it reflects the lyrics
because the brightness relates to happiness.
An advantage of filming here is also that there is no problem with when we are allowed to film here
because it’s not booked like classroom in school.
