1. MUSIC MAGAZINE RESEARCH: FRONT COVER

This music magazine uses a huge medium shot of Justin Bieber in
the middle of the page this is the main image. The reason it is a
medium shot is because his face is the main focus. The reason they
used Justin Bieber is because he is one of the most popular Pop stars
in the world so a lot more people can associate with him and will
want to buy a magazine that has him on the front cover. The image
is really big and in the middle of the front cover because that is the
first thing you see so it needs to attract the customers and that’s
what it does.

The whole of the front cover contains a variety of
colour. Colour is used to make the front cover more
eye catching and fun, if it didn’t contain any colour it
would be very boring and simple. However the colour
is also used to associate with the images and text for
example the pink linking with the female pop stars.
They use colourful and big bold fonts for the masthead, this is to
make it unique compared to other magazine mastheads, the reason
for this is so we can identify the magazine from just looking at just
the masthead. The reason for the colour and boldness of the font is
so that it is easy to read and so that the people know exactly what
magazine it is straight away. It also attracts a lot of people as it is
more eye catching and fun.
They also used shapes to attract the audience as the
audience are teenagers and younger ages they are
attracted a lot more by fun and interesting shapes
and images rather than lots and lots of writing. The
crazy shapes relate to the kind of crazy attitudes that
the pop stars have. All they want to do is have fun
and go crazy and those shapes some’s that up!
