1. Podcast Assignment:
!
For this assignment, we learned that a podcast is an mp3 that you can access and listen to
anywhere. In education, teachers can use podcasts to teach a lesson, provide more detail on a
subject, or to even tell a story. We were to record a podcast, and post it into a forum with the rest
of our class. For this particular podcast, we used a generator, but we were all shown many
different ways to create them.

Podcast Assignment Refection:
!
I had never really made a podcast before. I had recorded video, and places sound files over top of
them, but I had never really understood the idea behind a podcast. Through this assignment, I
learned the usefulness of podcasts. If my professors had recorded and placed their podcasts
somewhere that students could download them, it would be wonderful. In my classroom I would
like to do just that. If I go over a lesson, do a review or even tell a story that could be useful for a
student to revisit, I will record it as a podcast. I know that children are extremely interested in
technology, and using a format, such as an mp3 podcast, it will be a new interesting and fun way
for them to access information. Us doing this assignment would fall under the pillar of project
based learning in 21st century education, once again, because of our experimenting with
something knew, and creating a new product to showcase our knowledge on it. In a classroom, I
can see how podcasts could be used for any pillar. For math and science, “how to”s would be
extremely helpful to make into a podcast for students. In for language, a podcast could be made
2. for students to hear and repeat the new words they they might be practicing in a foreign
language. I might change this assignment up as well, by having my children record their own
podcasts. This way, they could put information into their own words, and be able to listen over it,
in order to review.
