The Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences Aviation Academy is seeking to hire a (associate) professor for a 0.8-1.0 FTE position focused on Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul. The ideal candidate will have a PhD and relevant industry experience, and will be responsible for conducting applied research projects with industry partners, developing curriculum, and teaching classes to help train motivated students. The position involves conducting research with students and industry and developing the undergraduate and master's programs in aviation MRO. The Aviation Academy aims to improve professional practice in aviation through education and applied research.

Maintenance,Repair and Overhaul (MRO) professionalswitha combination of
academic experience (PhDrequired) andindustryexperience,toexecute applied
researchwithindustryandto helptrainourmost motivatedstudents.
We are lookingforMaintenance,RepairandOverhaul professionalswitha
combinationof academicexperience (withdoctorate orinthe final stagesof
achievingone) andindustryexperience (preferablyincludingaviation)forthe
positionof (associate)professor.He orshe will have aleadingrole withinthe
AviationAcademyinthe areaof AviationMaintenance,RepairandOverhaul.He
or she will strengthenthe linksbetweenappliedresearch,the educational
programsand our extensive industrynetwork.The (associate) professorwill be
responsible for(inter)nationalresearchprojects,formulate (international)
researchproposals,secure (international) grants,write scientificandprofessional
publicationsand,asa memberof the faculty,make anactive contributiontothe
roadmapof the AviationAcademyand itsimplementation.The researchis
conductedbyundergraduate,masteranddoctoral students,lecturers,and
employeesfromparticipatingcompanies.Researchactivitieswilltake
approximatelyhalf the available time.Apartfromthe researchtasksthe
(associate) professorwill alsobe responsible forthe coordinationand
developmentof the undergraduate andmaster’scurriculuminthe areaof
AviationMaintenance,RepairandOverhaul.He orshe will improvethe qualityof
the educational program,strengthenthe cohesioninthe curriculumandpromote
educational innovationwithinthe educational program.He orshe will alsodeliver
classesandworkshopsandsupportstudentsintheirstudyprocess.
Since itsinceptionin2009, the AviationAcademyhasbeen addressingreal-world
problemsinthe aviationsector,withthe goal of improvingandinnovating
professionalpractice.We combine excellenteducationatthe undergraduate
(bachelor) level withappliedresearchinthe fieldsof:HumanFactorsandSafety,
MRO processoptimization,MROadvancedtechnologiesandaviationcapacity.
We are developingmaster’sprogramstobe launchedin2016 / 2017, offermaster
classesforprofessionals,andconductcontractresearch.Our energeticstaff
(currentlyamountingto 85 persons) includesfull professors,associateand
assistantprofessors,post-docs,lecturersandPhDcandidates(the latterin
collaborationwithanacademicuniversity).We have beenawardedthe Excellence

2. We are lookingfora doctorate-level MROgeneralistwithaview onthe
developmentof the industrial and/oraviationsector.Youhave several years of
workingexperience, bothinindustry andwithinaresearchinstitution,andhave
developedyourownnetwork.Youalsohave excellentverbal andwrittenskillsin
English.Yourdoctoral dissertationisrelevanttoresearchinthe Maintenance
Repairand Overhaul domain.
Remunerationforthe positionof associate professorwillbe accordingtowage
scale 13 (HBO CAO - CollectiveLabourAgreementforBachelor-level Education).
The maximumsalaryis€ 5,493 grossper monthfora full appointmentand
dependsonqualificationsandexperience.Forthe full professor,wage scale 15is
appropriate withamaximumsalaryof € 6,630 gross permonth fora full
appointmentdependingonqualificationsandexperience.The HBOCAOhas a
comprehensive package of employee benefits,includingholidaysupto53 days
