ABOUT EME
A HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTION DEDICATED TO
THE ENVIRONMENT AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT
Established in 1992, the School of Environmental Management & Engineering (EME), is
specializedinenvironmentalengineeringandsustainabledevelopment.EMEisrecognized
by the French Government and accredited by la Commission des Titres d’Ingénieurs, as
well as la Conférence des Grandes Ecoles.
We offer a 5-year integrated Masters program which provides graduates with a wide range
of Environmental Science skills and knowledge, an MSc in Sustainable Management and
Eco Innovation (in cooperation with ESC Rennes School of Business), and an Environmental
Project Management Bachelors program.
The school boasts a research center working in conjunction with industries and research
laboratories on projects of environmental studies in an international perspective. Our
mission is to develop the knowledge and engineering skills of our students and prepare
them to respond to ever changing environmental issues and help shape a sustainable
future. EME has been awarded an Erasmus Extended Charter, which enables
students to work in an international context through studies abroad and
foreign internships.
ON THE CAMPUS OF KER LANN, NEAR RENNES
The Campus of Ker Lann is situated a few kilometers south of Rennes, one of
the largest university cities. Ker Lann hosts 6,000 students and offers all the
necessary services of student life. With its lush and calm environment, Ker
Lann is an attractive campus, which helps create an environment for academic
success, and is only a 2-hour train ride from Paris.

MASTER IN ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING
EME offers a 5-year engineering program, mainly taught
in French, that provides the skills to succeed, and provides
opportunities for specialization in different fields of
Environmental Enginering and Sustainable Development.
Undergraduate studies Graduate studies
I1 I2 I3 I4 I5
The graduate level of the engineering program provides
a wide range of comprehensive educational and research
opportunities allowing students to individualize their study
options and their choice of projects and internships.
The Masters program aims to provide scientific knowledge
(mathematics, physics, chemistry, and biology) applied to
industrial engineering for the environment, as well as the
expertise of an engineer and professional experience acquired
through projects and internships. It’s focused on developing
students’ knowledge and skills in various environmental
domains and preparing them for a career as an environmental
engineer. EME researchers share their expertise through small
class sizes, field studies and hands-on experience.
ERASMUS & INTERNATIONAL STUDIES
OurMasterofengineeringprogramisopentofirstorsecondyear
graduate students from scientific or engineering backgrounds
who can spend a semester or a year studying at EME.
Students who want to spend an entire year in France will also
do an internship in the spring semester. EME has an internship
office that helps students find placements with companies in
France.
At EME, most classes are given in French, but we also offer a
program taught in English, the MSc in Sustainable Management
and Eco Innovation, in cooperation with ESC Rennes School of
Business. For more information about this program, see our
website : www.ecole-eme.fr/en/msc

PRACTICAL INFORMATION
STUDENT LIFE AT EME
Student life is an important element in the education of a student, especially in an engineering school. Whether for your social
life, daily life, or leisure, EME attaches a great importance to the development of its students.
Students can join any of nine student associations of the school. They are all dynamic and interactive with each other. Thanks to
them, events are organized all year long: winter sports trips, orientation weekend, and also parties and conferences. Joining an
association is an opportunity to develop your independence and ability to undertake projects, while also making unforgettable
memories of your time at EME.
Between sports, arts, humanitarian projects,
games and life on campus associations, each
student can find a student association that
interests him or her at EME. Also it gives you the
opportunity to make friends and work together
on projects.
