Hope In Dystopian Literature
Dystopian literature has made an uprising popularity in the recent years. Lots of audiences like to
read about character s conflicts that have to do with despairing pasts and how they find hope. Most
authors have accordingly adapted these themes and made them their own. While the authors have
all made their own works, they all describe the same characteristics. For example, the government
threatening the citizens and putting them in despair, making them feel as there is no hope in the
future society. The outcome of these societies lead to characters having hope and making alliances
to make the future better. In George Orwell s 1984 and Ernest Cline s Ready Player One, the
societies are very similar and the characters, Winston and Wade,... Show more content on

Orwell s provided how Winston felt after he saw Julia, which furthers the statement about themes.
Conversely, Cline s use of the themes leaves the reader understanding the emotions and how the
character s felt. For example, Cline went to the extreme and killed a character. I continued to
watch the scoreboard, expecting to see his brother Daito s score increase as well. But it never
happened...Daito had just been killed (Cline 233). The quote demonstrates that Cline went to the
extreme and used the theme despair and killed a character. The reason why Cline produces a
more effective way to communicate the theme is because it is more clear to convey what is
happening. Orwell s writing is more challenging to understand then Cline s. Therefore, Cline
produces a clearer theme then Orwell. If Cline did not add this part into the novel, Wade s thoughts
would be different and he may have never got information he needed to beat the OASIS. Orwell s
writing is more challenging to understand then Cline s. Therefore, Cline produces a clearer theme

Genicon Case Summary
Genicon is a firm with ten years of domestic experience and some actual global success. Genicon
was successful in America, but it quickly understood that it would be hard for them to have viable
growth, because the health care buys medical equipment through GPOs. As a small firm it was
tough to obtain a contract from GPOs since their financial arrangement encouraged them to buy
equipment from big companies. Consequently, Genicon decided to go global and catch growing
demand there. It became the smallest firm to sell products to European clients with the assistance
of BSI. Genicon is already in over thirty international markets and is looking in particular at the
rapidly emerging markets Brazil, Russia, India and China as potential new opportunities... Show

The simplicity of doing business index evaluates the influence of direct policies disturbing
businesses in a particular nation. According to the index, China was ranked the 89th out of 185
countries, whereas Russia, Brazil and India were graded the 120th, the 129th, and the 133rd,
respectively. Therefore, China is the best option amongst the four in terms of providing a stable
business environment. However, there are two significant drawbacks surrounding the Chinese
regulatory framework that would critically concern GENICON. Firstly, the country has a track
record of not protecting foreign intellectual property rights. As the knowledge base for the medical
devices that GENICON are carrying is readily available, local manufacturers can effortlessly start
manufacturing nearly indistinguishable products and sell them at lower prices. Second, policy
implementation in China is often escorted with deflection, as implementation measures are carried
out in unpredictable and contradictory manners. Unavoidably, the uncertainty around the regulatory
system creates additional legal risks. As exhibit 3 shows, the corruption perceptions score ratifies
the lack of transparency within the Chinese legal structure. According to transparency international
index, China scored 3.6 out of 10 and was ranked the 79th,

Fellowship Of The Ring Comparison
The Fellowship of the Ring suggests eminent amounts of interest, adventure and inspiration as it
utilizes great detail and excitement all throughout the storyline. Notably, at first glance this
book is profoundly intriguing as it is fantasy fiction and creates an entire alternate universe for
you to imagine and develop within your mind. For instance in one of my favourite games The
Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D, Link must collect the three spiritual stones before
Ganondorf to save Hyrule from evil ways. Similarly, Frodo must take the ring away from Shire
and not let Sauron find him, and it is connected to Zelda as they both are fictional adventure
stories which develop more deeply as they their journeys continue. My first impression of the
book is Frodo seems to be put in a situation completely due to fate as Bilbo settled on giving the
ring to him while Frodo never proclaimed he yearned for this responsibility.... Show more content

Additionally, it leaves me with many unanswered questions which can only be answered by reading
the book or by cheating and watching the movie because I am very impatient. Tolkien definitely has
inspired bounteous amounts of individuals with this novel as it practically invented fantasy fiction

Native American Religion Chapter 3 Summary
In Chapter 2 and Chapter 3, the book highlights some interesting parts about indigenous religions of
North America and Africa. For starters, in the indigenous religions, they have some interesting
beliefs about how the world was created. Many of the beliefs they hold about the origin of the
creation of man, is from ancient myths of North America. The belief that North America is the
motherland for all creation. However, each native religionhas different t how they describe their
superman being. Another interesting aspect about the indigenous religions of the native American
was the tale about how the coyote became a dirt color. At first, the coyote was green and was
envious of the bluebird which was a beautiful blue. The coyote eventually asked the bluebird how it
got its color and eventually, the coyote became... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
An arrogant spirit filled the coyote and he walked proudly, so every creature would admire. The
arrogant coyote wasn t looking where he was going one day and tripped and fell in a pile of dirt.
When the coyote got up, its color changed from the beautiful blue to a dirt color. I found this tale
interesting because it shows the danger of arrogance and some of the moral teachings of
humbleness in indigenous native American religions. I believe that religions that have tales about
how their moral and ethical teaching came about are interesting because I can trace the source of
how it came about. Chapter 3 described the indigenous religions of Africa and the myths,
supernatural being s history, and the incorporation of Islam and Christianity into the different
indigenous religions. I found it interesting that many of the indigenous religions keep the tradition
from their culture into Islam and Christianity. In Islam for instance, it has spread through North
Africa and in West Africa where many of its followers retain beliefs about possession by spirits

Organ Donations Philosophy Paper
Phil 2300 301 13 April 2010 [Title] Is it time for our society to reconsider the prohibitive laws
that make it legally impossible to establish licit markets for bodily organs? So many people are
unable to obtain organs they need due to the lack of availability. Increased medical advances
have created the need for many more organs than are available (Staff). A commercial market
may or may not solve the problem. There is a lack of commitment when it comes to donating
organs which could be from fear. Potential donors fear medical personnel will not make every
attempt possible to save their lives if they know they are donors. Little do they know, their organs
will be available to save 50 more lives in the event of their death. The idea... Show more content on

One example of this situation is the following incident: In 2001, Brian Lykins, 23, of Minnesota,
died because a small piece of cadaver material used to repair his knee was contaminated with
bacteria (Armour). There is also the possibility of the recipient becoming seriously infected due
to unsanitary handling during the dismemberment process. Whereas done in a legally regulated
environment, this process can be done in a sterile operating room decreasing the risk of
infection (Armour). There is legislation and laws in place to avoid these incidents; however
those who deal in the black market normally are not law abiding individuals concerned with
these regulations. There are 3 proposed solutions to the problem. An organ market, a presumed
consent program and a required request program (The Legal Dictionary). The organ market idea
would be a system where living donors would sign a contract while they are still alive. This
contract means a fixed amount would be decided for the donation . This would allow for the
donors organs to be removed upon their death. This could be done with a cash payment or a tax
credit prior to death. Benefits to this would mean a greater availability of organs. It could also
drive the cost of operations down due to the number of transplants that are performed enabling staff
to become more proficient and operations more affordable. It would also decrease the

Post Mission Bone Fractures
Bone: When astronauts go on to a long term space mission and remain in the reduced gravity
environment for a long time, there are some potential harmful influence to the bones, which
include bone lose, accelerated loss of bone minerals and increased chances for renal stones. It is
also notifiable that reduced gravity environment can, to some extent, give rise to possible post
mission bone fractures. There are some evidence and background to prove that there is strong
correlation between space flight and bone abnormality. First, it is noticed that bone loss accelerated
for an astronaut. The amount of bone loss for an astronaut in a single month, which is about 1 to
1.5 percent, is equal to that for a postmenopausal women who did not receive... Show more content

However, it is very hard to achieve the perfect outcome although there are several methods to
accomplish it. One way to achieve it is to build a doughnut shaped habitation section which can
be used to offset the effect of gravity by rotating the spaceship which will provide a force
pushing them away from the center of rotation. However, there are several aspects that need to
be taken into consideration. First is that there has to be a source of energy to make the spaceship
rotate in the first space. Second, for those nonrotating parts, the friction will slow the rotation
unless there is more energy input. Third, such hypothesis is built on the possibility of building a
very large spaceship with large radius, which can be a big engineering challenge. Moreover, as the
force generated is proportional to the radius of the rotation and to the square of the rotation speed,
for instance, to rotate at 1 rpm requires a radius of 900m, the energy needed to maintain such
rotation and rotation speed can be tremendous and the structure also has to be strong enough to
withstand such high speed rotation. The second possible solutions is by acceleration which is
based on Einstein s General Theory of Relativity that gravity and acceleration are equivalent.
Theoretically, if a spaceship can

Clear And Concise Outline Of Tarantino s Pulp Fiction
In order to establish a clear and concise outline of Tarantino s work in relation to the
consideration of film being represented as high art, we need to begin with one of his earlier and
more distinguished works, Pulp Fiction. Pulp Fiction is not for the faint of heart and its allure boils
down to a matter of personal preference and judgement, but its magnitude as a filmis a matter of
history. One of the main reasons Pulp Fiction has found so much success and praise in the art
community is that Tarantino ushered in a new era of post modernism in the film industry. Basically,
what aesthetic Postmodernism states is that what already has been done, has been done before and
there is nothing new . Postmodernism can also be distinguished by the... Show more content on

As we previously stated, Tarantino s dialogue is not simply quirky and original. There is a
systematic process behind his choice of dialogue and sequence of events. This is fully
exemplified in an exchange between Jules and one of the kids in the apartment. And the story
of how Wallace had a man thrown out of a four story window for giving his wife a foot massage.
Tarantino is laying the groundwork with his dialogue for a scene in which Vincent agrees to
take Mia Wallace (wife of Marsellus Wallace) out on a date, on his bosses orders. When Mia
accidentally overdoses, Vincent rushes her to his drug dealer, Lance, who resuscitates her with a
shot of adrenaline injected directly into her heart. We then meet Lance s girlfriend, Jody, who
begins to talk about her piercing fetish. This scene is where you get to witness the subtle instances
of dialogue that Tarantino has put into place for a specific pay off in the scenes to come. Tarantino
never actually shows the needle entering the chest, but instead he pans away to a shot in which
everyone glaring over the body jumps back simultaneously as Mia is brought back to life. And then
Jody explains that it was trippy and we contextualize that she has seen the ultimate

Kisspeptin Nerve Cell Essay
Samantha Hutchins
11/10/15
Kisspeptin Nerve Cell Nerve cells are known to receive an initial signal, propagate it, and
ultimately deliver it to an effector cell. This passage of information is very complex and the
slightest derailment can cause the entire cascade to cease. In the articles, Effects of the Hormone
Kisspeptin on Reproductive Hormone Release in Humans and Pacemaking Kisspeptin Neurons the
Kisspeptin neuron as well as its associated neurons and messengers are discussed. The articles
mainly serve to define the Kisspeptin nerve s main role in puberty and reproduction, whereas
previously the nerve was mostly researched in regard to its effect on tumors. The articles also

This indicated that they indeed work together and also shows that the Gonadotrophin answers to
the Kisspeptin neurotransmitters, opposed to the other way around. Additionally, by electrically
inducing the Kisspeptin in a laboratory, an increase in the Gonadotrophin releasing hormone
neurons was observed. If Kisspeptin is artificially inhibited, a decrease in secretions produced by
the Gonadotrophin hormone is detected (Kelly 1536). Also, Kisspeptin levels in the blood plasma
during pregnancy have been noted to be quite elevated opposed to non gestational plasma levels
(Calley 2). These findings are pretty indisputable and create a logical working order of the
Kisspeptin Gonadotrophin system. Kisspeptin works as a middleman since the signal is not
initially produced in the Kisspeptin neuron. In this sense, Kisspeptin is also a post synaptic neuron
as it receives its impulses from gonad steroids originally (Kelly 1535). Overall, steroid hormones
activate the Kisspeptin neuron which in turn synapses with the Gonadotrophin releasing hormone
neuron that is responsible for starting the cascade of hormones released in puberty and in

Personal Narrative-Haunted
Haunted
Today marks the four year anniversary of my brother s suicide, and once again I am haunted.
Haunted by the last conversation I had with Mike the weekend before he died. He was panicked
and overwhelmed over some issues with his job and with his landlord. He was being kind of a
drama queen, his stress way out of proportion to the problems he was facing. I wasn t worried
because I knew things would work out one way or another. I had no idea he was teetering on the
edge of sanity. Only in hindsight can we identify the warning signs we didn t notice at the time.
Haunted by the voicemail messages he left for my daughter Dolly two nights before he died. He
said he d been having a hard time and thought hearing her voice might cheer him up. In reality, he
had already made his plan and was calling to say good bye.
Haunted by the text ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I said to Dolly that we needed to call Uncle Mike after her race because he really wanted to talk to
us.
Haunted by the Girls on the Run 5K in Golden Gate Park that morning, the strange voicemail
message from my parents alerting me that something was wrong, the aggressive ass hole who
yelled at me and threatened to sue me because Duncan s dog wouldn t stop barking while Dolly
and Duncan were running in the race, and the foggy notion that maybe I knew what had happened
before I called my parents back because it seems like I did but how could that be possible?
Haunted by the park bench across the road from the de Young Museum in Golden Gate Park
where I called my parents and they told me that Mike was dead, that he had shot himself in the
head with a shotgun. Whether I knew or not, whether I suspected or not, whether I had prepared
myself for this eventuality after two earlier suicide attempts in his teens, no imagining could have
ever prepared me for what it was like when it actually happened. The world opened up and

Demographics And Its Impact On Health And Health
In my research, I discovered that population trends will dramatically impact healthcare. Simply put
the more people who exists the more healthcare that is required. Population is not the only factor
and other sub factors of population such as age, race, and ethnicity or demographics and they also
have an impact on Healthcare. For example, the population of people in the U.S. over the age of 65
in 1950 was only 8.1% of the total population. The trend of that number is expected to rise to 20.2%
by 2050. Geographic trends can assist healthcare professionals where to focus their educational
efforts in terms of healthcare availability. Psychographics examines the consumer or the factors that
motive them such as values, attitudes, beliefs, motions, interests, and personalities.
Demographic trends can be used to target specific gender and ethnic groups from a healthcare
perspective. An example of this targeted healthcare is research showed that males, both non
Hispanic and Hispanic, in the Michigan area where disproportionately affected by cancer
(Kodjebacheva, Blankenship, Hayman Jr, Parker, 2016). The application of this is by knowing
this data and data similar to it, we will be able to have focused HealthCare to the demographics that
statistically need it more than others.
The study of Geographic trends will allow us to better understand physically where healthcare
resources are lacking compared to other typically developed areas. An example of application here

The Effect Of Algae Growth On Mud Snails
Salt Marsh Task

Periods 5 and 6
Part One: Create a Field Experiment
Title: The Effect of Algae Growth on Mud Snails.
Introduction: I am going to do an experiment that will test whether algae effects mud snails. I want
to test this because I have learned about the effects of algae on certain ecosystems, and I want to
know how it will affect the salt marsh. I am interested in how algae growth will effect mud snails.
This project will help me learn the effects of algae on organisms living in the salt marsh.
Question: How does algae affect mud snails living in the salt marsh?
Hypothesis: High amounts of algae growing in the salt marsh will cause a large decrease in the
mud snail population.
Collection of Data: I am going to create three environments: one with no algae growing, one with
normal algae levels (as a control group), and one with high amounts of algae growing. Then I will
place a population of 100 mud snails in each. Finally, I will make a graph of how many mud snails
are alive at the different amounts of algae growth.
How I will analyze my data: I will organize my data into a graph. This will let me compare my
results easily because I will be able to see the mud snail population in comparison to the amount of
algae growth.
How I will record my data:

The Colonials Of The Boston, Concord Area
The colonials of the Boston, Concord area were vital in the beginning of the American
Revolution. Paul Revere and other members of the Whig Party were key in alerting the colonists
to the impending British. The supporters of Revere and his platform made up a majority of the
New England coast line, specifically New Hampshire and Massachusetts and were essential
pieces in allowing Revere s plan to prevail. From these people birthed a militia who were able to
defend the land and other materials from the British and set up the foundation for our American
armed forces. This society, in order to succeed, had to be able to communicate, play to their
strengths, and be willing to risk everything for a shot at freedom. Using these traits, the colonists,
with Revere as their leader, were able to defeat the British. Communication is key The ability to
communicate is one skill that sets the minutemen and supporting colonist apart from others of that
time. More importantly, it set them apart from the British enemies. In the beginning chapters of
the book I had the perception that Paul Revere was just a gossip monger. A skilled horsemen who
liked to stir up trouble for General Thomas Gage. Once I completed the book, I realized that he in
fact was a communication expert and so were the colonist around him. Fisher writes about the
tactics and skills that Revere and his supporters used to aide in the defeat of the British. This society

The Impact Of Technology On Education
On a daily basis, both businesses and individuals rely on technology. It cannot be denied that
technology has become part of our everyday life. As individuals, we all depend on technology,
either for education, health purposes, transportation, communication, romantic relationships, and/or
business growth . It is impossible to explore how each advancement in technology has impacted
our lives as well as how it will impact the future, but we can briefly explore the major
advancements. Technology impacts the environment, people individually, and the society as a
whole. As we navigate through the 21st century, technology in the classroom is becoming further
predominant. iPads are replacing our textbooks, and we can research any desired topic on our
smartphones. The impact that technology has had on today s schools has been utterly momentous.
Educators have now seen firsthand the numerous benefits of technology in the classroom.
According to a study by IT Trade Association CompTIA, around 75 percent of educators have
come to the conclusion that technology has a positive impact on the education process. Educators
have also recognized the significance of developing these technological skills in students so they
will be prepared to enter the workforce after they graduate (Cox). By incorporating technology in
the classroom, teachers are setting our students up for a successful life outside of school. The
increase of technology has even changed how teachers teach along with how

Wind Power in the Near Future Essay
Wind Power in the Near Future
Today many people are anxious about energy for the future, as it seems realistic that petroleum
energy will someday run out and since some environmental problems caused by petroleum use
are getting worse. As alternatives to today s main energy source, oil, some others have been
proposed already, such as solar, water, biomass, and nuclear. Wind Power is the one of the ways
that has the biggest potential and is the most practical. And it is predicted to play an important role
in electrical generation for the new era. But to think wind power will be the dominant energy source
can be too optimistic. How will wind power be used? To what extent will wind power take the
place of petroleum? We can find the answers ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Decentralized power production can bring immunity to largescale electrical grid failures. As wind
turbines can be adapted to this use, increasing amounts of wind power will be utilized as a means
to micropower generation.
These examples suggest that wind power will be used in ways that correspond to each needed
capacity and purpose. In the article Wind Energy: An Untapped Resource, the Wind Energy
Association estimates the potential amount of wind power generation capacity in the U.S.A. at
10,777 billion kW/h, which is three times the electricity generated in the U.S.A. today. However,
it also predicts that we are unlikely ever to use even half of that potential. In fact, in 2000, the
U.S.A. was using less than 1% of that potential! This is because wind power is not always the
superior method, and there are some problems still to be solved.
In the article Nuclear Now, Schwarts and Keiss point out some problems with wind power
generation. First the Whish, Whish sound of the turning fan might bother the people living
nearby. A relatively large area of land is needed for huge wind turbines. Also birds can be killed
by the turbines. And, of course, there is the question of the cost. In Wind Turbines Taking Toll on
Birds of Prey, for example USA Today reports that the number of birds killed by the

Accounting And Its Effect On The Asset Of The Portfolio
Depreciating assets over their useful lives, rather than just expensing them in the year they are
acquired.
When an asset such as new equipment is purchased by an organization, the seemingly obvious
choice for reporting such an expense would be to record it entirely at the time of its purchase, and
simply record income in the years following. This, however, is not the method used by accountants.
Rather, they use a method of depreciating the asset. This basically means spreading the expense of
the asset of the years of its useful life. This is the required method of accounting, according to the
matching principle. This principle states that to record the entire expense the first year would skew
the results of operations over the asset ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is for this reason that the depreciation expense is taken and added to overall net income at the
end of each subsequent year. This method s use or value may not be apparent at first, but through
its practice we see why this is the standard in regards to this area of financial reporting. Since the
goal is to give the fairest representation of the financial position, at times adjustments such as these
must be made.
What equation describes the periodic inventory system?
In a periodic inventory system, on hand items are tracked from time to time rather than
continuously. This requires the company using the system to obtain a physical count at any time
they must record the inventory. The equation used in this system takes the balance of the beginning
inventory, plus all purchased items, and subtracting the ending balance. This formula determines
the amount of inventory that was sold or used since the previous count was taken. For example, if a
store hand a beginning inventory of 1,000 units, purchased an additional 4,000 units, and had an
ending balance of 2,000 units, they have determined that 3,000 units were sold. The limitations of
this system are that the company does not continuously know how many items are on hand, as well
as the inability to know that one of the missing units was sold and not stolen, damaged, etc. This
limits the company s abilities in ordering additional stock due to low

Symbolism In The Story Of Paul s Case By Willa Cather
Darkness of Bright Red Carnations
The color red means different things to different people; distress, love, or even lust. When the hue
is placed in the form of a flower, the meaning may shift moderately. A red carnation is worn to
symbolize admiration, love, or affection in a compassionate situation, however when worn in a
more distraught venue, the carnation could embody more meaning of death or dying. An analysis of
the red carnation in the story of Paul s Case reveals the underlying symbolism meant to interpret the
narrative.
In the story of Paul s Case by Willa Cather, Paul is observed as the uneducated, poverty lined boy
in a severely distressed situation. Paul is seen by his teachers as a disturbance and a sheer nuisance
in the classroom. During the review of his suspension, the teachers all form their crude opinions of
his situation, and glare at the red carnation dawning the button hole of his shirt. This ... Show more

Paul puts an end to the carnation, which has already began wilting away, by burying it into the
snow bank. The end of the carnation seems to be a metaphor for Paul s life as well. His burying
of the carnation symbolizes the burial of himself, the end of the carnation, the end of his life,
and the end of the life he always wanted to create for himself. He recollected the imagery of the
flowers seen previously, along with his perception of life, And it was a losing game in the end, it
seemed, this revolt against the homilies by which the world is run (p. 106). It seems as though
the wilting away of the carnation had the most symbolism towards Paul s life than others. The red
carnation has many meanings to many different people, however to Paul it was all he had. The
idea of death is reliving to Paul, although he quickly begins to think of all the things he will never
see. It is a sentimental moment in that it gives closure to the story and concludes the end of the red

Organisational culture is defined as the ways in which things are accomplished, a pattern of shared
basic assumptions that the group learned as it solved its problems of external adaptation and
internal integration, that has worked well enough to be considered valid and, therefore, to be taught

Functions Of A Joint And Articular Cartilage
Osteochondritis Dissecans
Osteochondritis dissecans (OCD), happens when a piece of tissue that covers a joint (articular
cartilage) is separated from the bone. Articular cartilage protects the bones and allows joints to
move smoothly, without pain.
OCD most commonly affects the knee joint, but it can also occur at the ankle, elbow, or other joints
throughout the body. OCD occurs mainly in children and adolescents. Mild cases of OCD tend to
heal over time, especially if a child has this condition. However, severe cases may require surgery
to reattach the articular cartilage to the surrounding bone.
CAUSES
The cause of this condition is not known. Possible causes include:
Injury from repetitive motion or repetitive stress on the joint.
Inadequate blood supply to the joint.
Having certain genes that make developing OCD more likely (genetic predisposition).
RISK FACTORS
The following factors may make you more likely to develop this condition:
Being a child or adolescent. Having bones that are still growing makes OCD more likely to occur.
Participating in sports that put repeated force on the joints, such as distance running.
Being obese.
Having a family history of OCD.
Having posture problems, such as bow legs or knock knees.
SYMPTOMS
In many cases, there are no symptoms of this condition. However, symptoms vary depending on the
severity and location of the condition. Possible symptoms include:

The Problem Of Water Conservation
Water is very important in everyone s daily lives. They need it to shower, brush their teeth, cook,
taking care of the landscapes, and most importantly to live. Water is everywhere but as some
people say it will soon become scarce due to the fact people are being very wasteful with it.
Water conservation is a big topic in the United States when it comes to California, a state known
for their droughts. It seems like every years there is always something on the news headlines
talking about a drought in California. Conserving water would obviously become an even bigger
deal if we lived in California instead of the Midwest. Obviously the topic of water conservation is
still a big topic in the Midwest because as a nation, people are wasteful and taking having water for
granted in our everyday lives. Although scientists and astronomers are learning how they can get
water from comets and asteroids if planet Earthwere to run out of water one day it is still in the
experimental phase and is not a for sure thing on Earth. For the time being, instead of wasting the
water, in people s everyday life s they can help reduce the risk of water going completely extinct by
understanding how the water is going to waste, solutions to saving water, and being smart when
dealing with landscaping.
People say that the Earth is running short on water but never seem to point out that there are some
backup plans that are being put into action and tested out currently by scientist. When people think

The Impact Of Privacy In Nigeria
Before the British colonial invasion, Nigeria lived as autonomous commities, kingdoms and
caliphates, where political, social and economic administrations were carried out independently. At
the invasion, Nigeria became a British protectorate, part of the British Empire in 1901. However,
for administrative purposes the protectorate was divided into the Southern and Northern
Protectorates. In 1914 both protectorates were merged into a single colony known as Nigeria by
the effort of Sir Fredrick Lugard. This amalgamation was with the intent to unite the people and
culture of the Northern and Southern protectorates into a sovereign nation called Nigeria. However,
the success of this 1914 amalgamation has been called to question given the ever widening gap in...

Commands us to avoid demonds.
Biblical Foundation: According to William, Smith The references to demons in the Old
Testament are relatively scarce. Their existence is never proven; it is simply assumed. The Old
Testament focus is not on demons and their schemes but on God and his sovereignty .
Practical Application: Although, there is not a lot of facts mentioned in the gospel about

Conclusion
In conclusion, theology and the study of angles and demonds is based on fact and what we

Life is short, spend your time wisely is a common phrase many individuals use to see the
positive side in their everyday life and to forget about the negativity that fills them because they
only have one life to live and there is no time for them to be filled with hatred. Time is forever
but life is not. There comes points in life where one has to accept that death is inevitable, and so
start to analyze the world around them to then realize the beauty of life itself. The following poems
chosen all represent the essence of timewhere psychological issues such as fear, grief, and
memory are apparent when the dealing with the issue of fragility of life. The poem In a Station
of the Metro, by Erza Pound suggests the brevity of life itself as in one glimpse, time has
expired and one s life is over without even realizing. Beginning with the poem s length, it is only
two lines long which emphasizes how life runs at a fast speed. One begins to read the poem, and
as soon as you now it, the poem comes to an end. Life is just like that, one starts off as an infant,
believing that they have all the time in the world to do many things, then without even noticing,
time has passed by in a rapid speed and one is an adult just like that. Pound uses a train as a
metaphor to compare how life speeds away in an instant. The speaker watches the apparition of

Naegleria Fowleri Research Paper
Naegleria fowleri Infection Payton Vandergriff 5th Period Naegleria fowleri infection is a
deadly disease caused by a form of protist typically found dwelling within warm bodies of fresh
water, such as lakes, rivers, streams and unchlorinated swimming pools. It can also be found
within soil or in warm fresh water deposits outside of factories. Naegleria fowleria typically reside
within fish or other water dwelling organisms, but they have been known to infiltrate the human
body via the nasal cavity. Once within the body, naegleria fowleri attack the human nervous system
and brain. This process is called Primary amoebic meningoencephalitis and although such
infections are rare, contraction almost always guarantees death. The case fatality rate is over 95%.
Once the disease has been contracted, the subject will most likely be dead within five days. The
longest running bout of this infection ever recorded was a mere twenty five days, with the shortest
being sixteen hours.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These symptoms can appear as quickly as an hour after contraction. Because these symptoms are
so generic, many people have mistaken cases of naegleria fowleri for the common cold, which has
resulted in many misdiagnoses and eventual deaths. Secondary symptoms of the disease include
confusion, hallucinations, lack of attention, ataxia (meaning a loss of coordination), and seizures.
Eventually, the patient lapses into a coma where they later die, still within this comatose state.
While the patient is comatose, the amoeba consumes the brain piece by piece. Naegleria fowleri
can be stopped but once the patient drops into a coma, the survival rate becomes even bleaker. The
survival rate, which is already miniscule at less than 1%, morphs into a number even smaller than
its predecessor. Only Amphotericin B, an anti fungal drug, has proven to be effective against the

Factors Of Juvenile Crime
Juvenile crime has been a major issue in the United State, from the beginning and its impact on
society. People are trying to find effective ways to stop it. Juvenile crime has many factors that
influences the United States and makes people want to stop it. Juvenile crime is an issue that needs
to be stopped. Juvenile crimecan be a danger to many people. Juvenile crime had a strong uprising
when conditions within the society got worse. Research over the past few decades on normal child
development and development on delinquent behavior has shown that individual, social, and
community conditions and interactions influence behavior(McCord). This says that in bad
environments in the community the children that live there are more likely to be an individual with
juvenile delinquency. Clearly, genes affect biological development, but there is no biological
development without environmental input, Bock and Goode (McCord, 66). This quote says
that environmental interaction develops kids, so kids that interact with a bad environment can
end up in a worse position than other kids [what other kids? Kids from a good environment?
JMH]. The age can influence whether or not a child will be a juvenile delinquent. Studies of
criminal activity by age constantly find that rates of offending begin to rise in pre adolescence
or early adulthood(McCord). This says that juvenile crime usually starts when the children are
teens or entering their puberty years. This can be a big deal because that age is usually when
kids are influenced more easily. The percentage of boys who self reported serious delinquent
behavior rose from 5 percent at age 6 to about 18 percent at age 16 for whites and 27 percent for
blacks at age 16. Loeber (McCord,68). This says that delinquent behavior and crime rose for
each race at the age of 16. The family influence also plays a big role for a child if the child is
going to be a delinquent or not. When families have difficulties with the task laid on them, the
product often is a juvenile delinquent.(McCord) This says that parents with no care in how their
child ends up will have their child become a juvenile delinquent.
Juvenile crime is affecting the United states because Juvenile crime and

Essay on Why Evolution is True, by Jerry A. Coyne
Why Evolution is True is a book by Jerry A. Coyne about how modern man slowly evolved from

this book I was a strong believer in creation but while reading this book I realized that there are to
many connections between all of earths animals. I am unable see a scenario where we could share
so much of our genes with other creatures and still say that we did not evolve from other animals

The fifth part of the evolution theory is natural selection. Natural selection is an idea that life doesn
t require creation or guidance from a supernatural being. Natural selection depends only on nature
in which the population will adapt to their environment while the one who are unable to adapt
will die off. But natural selection cannot provide perfection but can only help the creatures to
evolve just enough to be able to survive. The sixth and final part of the evolution theory is the
nonselective mechanisms of evolutionary change. Nonselective mechanisms of evolutionary
change is the idea that natural selection is not the only means of evolutionary change which
means that creatures naturally evolve over time even if they do not need to evolve to survive
because every creatures DNA is constantly changing. Even with these six ideas evolution is still
only a theory and is not accepted as true until there is enough evidence collect to the point where
it can tested over and over again to the point when all reasonable people can accept it as the truth.
But the only was to do this is to test the theory against other theories using the six parts of
evolution to show that evolution is fact. One way to test the evolution theory is to look at what is

The Gender Differences And Consequences Of Gender...
Socialization is this expectation that you must live by with the rules of conduct and behavior.
Where you have laws and must live by because it s a must or you ll be punished but socialization
is where you have to follow nature s law although its not negatively reinforced. You are to do
things that people expect and if you do otherwise you are looked at weirdly or thought to be the
odd ball. Which then brings me to gendersocialization, some people are very strict when it comes to
gender roles. For example video games. Some boys and girls are limited to the type of games they
are allowed to play based on their gender.
Gender socialization is socialization but for just gender roles. So girls can only do girly things and
boy may not because it s just for girls and vise versa. Girl are to not participate in male games
because it s a guy thing. A few examples would be two brothers playing wrestling because that s
what they watch on tv and the sister that wants to join older or younger but can t because
mommy and daddy said she couldn t. You might wonder and ask why and at times you can get
responses like: she s a girl she can t play with boys that dangerous it s a boy games, you re just a

Lorelai s Argumentative Analysis
According to Winek (2010), emotional fusion inevitably results in poor interpersonal boundaries as
well as produces emotionally reactive children as it happened in Gilmore Family (Nichols, 2013).
Emily considers Lorelai s autonomy need as abandonment so that she experiences anxiety.
Similarly, Lorelai constantly attempts to keep her boundaries clear and distinguishable. However,
while doing that, they fail to protect the familyunion. In this sense, self differentiation concept
comes into play. According to Bowen, differentiated individuals make an effort to change
themselves rather than trying to alter other s minds. Also, they respect to other people s opinions
and are able to approach them nondefensively (Kim Appel, Appel, 2015). In this

Increased spending on investment adds to aggregate demand and helps to restore normal levels of
production and employment.Fiscal policy, on the other hand, can provide an additional tool to
combat recessions and is particularly useful when the tools of monetary policy lose their
effectiveness. When the government cuts taxes, it increases households disposable income, which
encourages them to increase spending on consumption. When the government buys goods and
services, it adds directly to aggregate demand. Moreover, these fiscal actions can have multiplier
effects: Higher aggregate demand leads to higher incomes, which in turn induces additional
consumer spending and further increases in aggregate demand.Traditional Keynesian analysis
indicates that increases in government purchases are a more potent tool than decreases in taxes.
When the government gives a dollar in tax cuts to a household, part of that dollar may be saved
rather than spent. The part of the dollar that is saved does not contribute to the aggregate demand
for goods and services. By contrast, when the government spends a dollar buying a good or

argue that tax cuts can expand both aggregate demand and aggregate supply and that hasty
increases in government spending may lead to wasteful public projects.Tax cuts increase aggregate

parents if I could go to my friend s house, and they both replied, Yes. Halfway to his house, I
tripped, and fell into the thin layer of grass. And this is when I recalled when I first started
rollerblading.
My family and I were at a sports store in the mall, looking for baseball equipment for the
upcoming season. When I was walking the perimeter of the store, I saw the rollerblades. They
were a bright lime green in color, and were friendly looking, so I decided to ask my parents if we
could purchase them.
They said Okay, we can, but they will be a birthday present.
I agreed with this statement doubting I could make them allow me to ride them when I got home. ...

My grandparents were over at the time, and they said they would help me get started on them. I
put them on my feet, and tried to move with them. Unfortunately, I fell after what happened to be
a second. It took a while to get up again, but I finally figured you had to go into the grass to get
up. After a few minutes, my grandparents were guiding me across the court. Everyday, I would
go outside and practice. I figured I should get to be good at it before summer came. Day by day, I
was improving. I dedicated many hours in a day to rollerblading. I got faster and faster after every

Virginia Beach City Operating Budget
Transit represents a little less than one half of one percent of the Virginia Beach city operating
budget. If light rail is built, only in its third year of operation will light rail and the associated
inflation drive that number up to just about one half of one percent. Virginia Beach, a resort city, is
a suburban community with many environmental assets. There are green areas to the south that
require protection. As the city is bordered by the Atlantic Ocean and the Chesapeake Bay these
require careful consideration for safeguarding. Virginia Beach has very little in the way of land to
develop so thinking vertically is a strategic plan the city has embraced and light railis at the heart of
its future when it comes to a unified Norfolk/Virginia Beach Metro mass transit system.
As previous explained in the literature review of this study, those for the extension say it will spur
economic development along the designated route, help lower taxes through a wider tax base, and
create additional opportunities for transit. Those against its creation argue that light rail is an old
technology that is very expensive and will not stimulate economic development or move enough
people to validate the cost. A purposeful analysis, will examine whether light rail will improve the
quality of life for residents in Virginia Beach and if an incremental tactic in its construction is the
correct way forward. Regardless if the resort city remains a fiscally sound municipality, is the

(Lindop83) This got authorities very annoyed at King because they did not want change and
King protest did it constitutionally legal. As a result police started arresting King for trivial
reasons such as doing 30mph in a 25 zone, sitting in white places, civil rights marches, boycotting
the busses etceteras. In all he went to jail over 30 times. (Lindop 82) It didn t stop there the FBI
or at least the head of the FBI, Jay Edgar Hoover, even hated King. Nobody hated Martin Luther
King more than J. Edgar Hoover (Clarke 255) King was well aware that the FBI was, as he put it,
out to break me. (Melanson 134) That was obvious being that the FBI used many man hours in
harassing King. King life was threatened by the FBI about 50 times and harassed enough to
literally have entire books on the subject. A primary example of this is when the FBI dubbed a
phony tape of King with another women and used to blackmail King into committing suicide. In
January of 1968, three months before the assassination, an internal memo was distributed by
Hoover calling for, the Removal of King from the national scene. After all the harassment King
endured he still refused to retaliate in any illegal acts which continued to infuriate authorities.

Essay On Police Brutality Movement
In current days and even days in the past, we have dealt with the issue of police brutality. Is it
reasonable that police can utilize savage power to secure and serve the general population of our
nation? In this Personal Perspective Project, I will analyze four different articles to answer this
question. The term #BlackLivesMatter is the people of color saying that they are tired of police
brutality against colored men. Interracial couples in Baltimore fear for their biracial children
because they are half African American. And officers killing men of color who didn t do harm and
didn t get charged because they were saving the community . In the article How #BlackLivesMatter

Inclusion For Children With Disabilities
Introduction
In modern society, everything is always rapidly changing. Numerous things around the world are
becoming more common and accepted. Inclusion is all around us and it is commonly unnoticed.
From an educational perspective, inclusion refers to the idea of placing students with disabilities in
general education classes or other school activities (Hallahan, Kauffman, Pullen, 2015). Early
childhood education has been trying to incorporate inclusion in numerous ways, along with all
other education. Integrated classrooms are very popular and has changed education drastically. Just
like everything, inclusion in education has its flaws, but no the less, is making progress.
Historical Background of Inclusion The concept of inclusion in the classroom has not been around
for as long as many people think. For children with disabilities, it is typically best for them to be in
the least restrictive environment (LRE). In many cases, this is the general classroom with their
peers who do not have disabilities. Classrooms were not always set up in this manner that they are
today. Getting to the point that we are at today did take some difficult battles and arguments that do
not go unnoticed. There are various attributes to the inclusion in education. The first major event
that guided education to inclusion is the court case Brown vs. Board of Education of Topeka in
1954. McBride (2006) explains that in this case the plaintiffs were fighting segregation of African

Feminist Perspective In Frankenstein
The feminine perception in Frankenstein by Mary Shelley Mary Shelley in the book,
Frankenstein provides a space for exploring the feminine perspective, which is highlighted by
the featured female characters. In today s world gender, issue regarding women is just as
important as the historical period the book is written. This therefore makes the book a very
suitable tool in displaying the important roles women have in society and how far these roles
have progressed in the modern world. Some critics might consider that Mary Shelley limited the
woman s story in the book because at the time it was a male dominated industry. However, one
would want to praise her for the courage she displayed by writing on a controversial topic... Show

Differences Between Cadbury And Woburn Safari Park Ltd
Activity 1
Action Plan
What I want to achieve when I do my coursework is that I understand the differences and
similarities between the two businesses. I am going to do this is by using my own knowledge and
the internet and on various occasions my classroom notes. This should take me a while to
complete as I would be going in depth about information and expanding on key points. I will be
including different ideas that I have discovered.
The businesses I have chosen to discuss are Cadbury Plc and Woburn Safari Park ltd. I have
chosen these two businesses as they are different in both what they offer and who they target.
Cadbury is international and Woburn Safari Park is local to where I live.
Introduction
The purpose or this assessment is for me to compare and contrast the following two, Woburn
Safari Park and Cadburys plc. Now to start off with I will be providing useful information on both
Cadburys and Woburn; defining the definition of a business. A business is an organization where
goods and services are exchanged for one another or for money. Cadburys plc is a multinational

Hades and the Underworld
In the time of ancient Greeks many people believed in certain Gods and Goddesses and their
mythological stories. Among the many gods and goddesses there was Athena, Goddess of
wisdom, crafts, and war. Also there was Apollo, God of the sun, music, healing, prophecy, and
poetry. Apollo s twin sister Artemis Goddess of hunting and archery. Then there s Poseidon, God
of the ocean and brother to the most powerful God of them all, the God of all Gods, Zeus. However,
there was only one specific God that mortals and even Gods feared, the brother of Poseidon and
Zeus. He was the ruler of the underworld and the dead; he went by the name of Hades.

As Hades enjoyed her presence and was happy he ruined Persphane s life and her mother s as well.
Picture it, dark, gloomy, lifeless. Pictured it? Well that s the underworld for you. After one s
death there soul was supposidly sent down to the underworld. A joyless and hopeless, where no
soul was able to escape once it had entered the doomed pit. However, if my some chance they had
permission from Hades himself they were able to leave. Supposively the underground was no a
horrible place but for the souls that roamed there it felt as if it were a never ending nightmare. No
hope or light of any sort lived in this place.
Within the underworld lies many rivers, surrounding it. Around it there are the Acheron, Cocytus,
Phlegethon, Styx, and the Lethe rivers. Each river means something different and protects the
souls from running away. The Acheron river mean river of woe , it was a branch of another
river named the Styx river. In Donte s Inferno it was said that the Acheron was the border line of
Hell. The Cocytus means the river of wailing . Instead of being outside and around the underworld
in was located inside. Whoever didn t have the proper amount of money to pay their way in would
stay on the banks of the Cocytus for one hundred years. The Phlegethon meant river of fire .
It was parralle to the Styx river and flowed with fire that consisted of absoluty no gas. The Styx

Persecution of witchcraft in Europe has been documented since the classical antiquity. In the
ancient Greco Roman world, defixiones were found beneath the ground an don walls of temples,
and were believed to be used by witches. These curse tablets, or binding spells (shown in appendix
a) were not only used to curse people, but were additionally used for love spells. During the
eleventh and twelfth centuries in England, there were accusations of witchcraft and were brought
to the churchly court. However, later on the use of ВЁmagicВЁ became helpful to many in
medicine. Kieckhefer, Richard Cambridge University Press, stated ВЁthere are many who practiced
several types of magic at this time including: monks, priests, physicians, surgeons, midwives, folk
healers, and diviners...Much of their magic consisted of the usage of medicinal herbs in order to
heal.ВЁ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/
European_witchcraft#Magic_and_Medicine_in_the_Middle_Ages ) So, mainly ВЁnatural magicВЁ
was encouraged throughout most of Europe, and the classical magic acts fell right under the
umbrella of Christianity. As for catholicism, a much more severe version of the Salem witch trials
took place in Basque country. Any person accused of heretics, including witches, was ordered by
the Catholic church to be burned at stake or to be stoned to death, which was suggested in the
bible. These accusations of witchcraft lead to

The Message in the Music Essay
The Message in the Music
Music means many different things to many different people. To a listener, a song is sometimes for
four simple minutes of entertainment, but sometimes it is much more. Sometimes, a song is a
message from the artist. This is much the same way from the opposite end of the spectrum. An
artists message can get so complex that it is completely lost on the listener.
This essay is about song analysis. I will be analyzing two songs performed by the same artist but
performed with two different bands. Although performed by different groups, the music is similar
and so is the message. The two bands being examined are Tool and A Perfect Circle. These are
both considered rock bands and work within the same industrial ... Show more content on

The second verse contains the line, You told us you werent afraid to die. Well then, so long. This
line seems to be less criticizing than the first, but still is telling Jesus that after all this time of
preaching how much he would sacrifice, he is now going to have to live up to his promise or to
die for it. Another line in this verse is,Not all martyrs see divinity. But at least you tried. Here, the
singer is almost being sympathetic with Him, saying his cause was a valiant effort and claiming
him to be a martyr, someone who suffers for a cause or sacrifices his or her life for a great
purpose. Although they say that He wont reach the higher state of divinity, they still acknowledge
his effort.
The third verse goes back to the original tone of the song by criticizing the Lord, this time by
saying that he blamed all things that were evil on other people. This is expressed though the line,
Ranting and pointing his finger. At everything but his heart. The part about his heart doesnt come
off as an emotional or spiritual metaphor, but rather a literal accusation that He never turned the
blame on Himself and always pointed His finger away.
It is in the forth verse when the artist turns from speaking about Jesus in a third person to the first
person. To me, this is more personal and angry than the first three verses. In these three lines, the
artist claims that Jesus had told him something, maybe

Mobile Devices Security
Mobile Devices Security The importance of mobile phones both to individuals and corporate
organizations can never be underestimated. These devices are put to different uses that would have

come with great risks particularly when it comes to corporate data that may be stored in them. The
range of security threats that face mobile phones is as a result of several vulnerabilities found

partly poor user security practices. Besides basic user requirements, other security challenges facing

  • 2. Hope In Dystopian Literature Dystopian literature has made an uprising popularity in the recent years. Lots of audiences like to read about character s conflicts that have to do with despairing pasts and how they find hope. Most authors have accordingly adapted these themes and made them their own. While the authors have all made their own works, they all describe the same characteristics. For example, the government threatening the citizens and putting them in despair, making them feel as there is no hope in the future society. The outcome of these societies lead to characters having hope and making alliances to make the future better. In George Orwell s 1984 and Ernest Cline s Ready Player One, the societies are very similar and the characters, Winston and Wade,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Orwell s provided how Winston felt after he saw Julia, which furthers the statement about themes. Conversely, Cline s use of the themes leaves the reader understanding the emotions and how the character s felt. For example, Cline went to the extreme and killed a character. I continued to watch the scoreboard, expecting to see his brother Daito s score increase as well. But it never happened...Daito had just been killed (Cline 233). The quote demonstrates that Cline went to the extreme and used the theme despair and killed a character. The reason why Cline produces a more effective way to communicate the theme is because it is more clear to convey what is happening. Orwell s writing is more challenging to understand then Cline s. Therefore, Cline produces a clearer theme then Orwell. If Cline did not add this part into the novel, Wade s thoughts would be different and he may have never got information he needed to beat the OASIS. • 3. Genicon Case Summary Genicon is a firm with ten years of domestic experience and some actual global success. Genicon was successful in America, but it quickly understood that it would be hard for them to have viable growth, because the health care buys medical equipment through GPOs. As a small firm it was tough to obtain a contract from GPOs since their financial arrangement encouraged them to buy equipment from big companies. Consequently, Genicon decided to go global and catch growing demand there. It became the smallest firm to sell products to European clients with the assistance of BSI. Genicon is already in over thirty international markets and is looking in particular at the rapidly emerging markets Brazil, Russia, India and China as potential new opportunities... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The simplicity of doing business index evaluates the influence of direct policies disturbing businesses in a particular nation. According to the index, China was ranked the 89th out of 185 countries, whereas Russia, Brazil and India were graded the 120th, the 129th, and the 133rd, respectively. Therefore, China is the best option amongst the four in terms of providing a stable business environment. However, there are two significant drawbacks surrounding the Chinese regulatory framework that would critically concern GENICON. Firstly, the country has a track record of not protecting foreign intellectual property rights. As the knowledge base for the medical devices that GENICON are carrying is readily available, local manufacturers can effortlessly start manufacturing nearly indistinguishable products and sell them at lower prices. Second, policy implementation in China is often escorted with deflection, as implementation measures are carried out in unpredictable and contradictory manners. Unavoidably, the uncertainty around the regulatory system creates additional legal risks. As exhibit 3 shows, the corruption perceptions score ratifies the lack of transparency within the Chinese legal structure. According to transparency international index, China scored 3.6 out of 10 and was ranked the 79th, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Fellowship Of The Ring Comparison The Fellowship of the Ring suggests eminent amounts of interest, adventure and inspiration as it utilizes great detail and excitement all throughout the storyline. Notably, at first glance this book is profoundly intriguing as it is fantasy fiction and creates an entire alternate universe for you to imagine and develop within your mind. For instance in one of my favourite games The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D, Link must collect the three spiritual stones before Ganondorf to save Hyrule from evil ways. Similarly, Frodo must take the ring away from Shire and not let Sauron find him, and it is connected to Zelda as they both are fictional adventure stories which develop more deeply as they their journeys continue. My first impression of the book is Frodo seems to be put in a situation completely due to fate as Bilbo settled on giving the ring to him while Frodo never proclaimed he yearned for this responsibility.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Additionally, it leaves me with many unanswered questions which can only be answered by reading the book or by cheating and watching the movie because I am very impatient. Tolkien definitely has inspired bounteous amounts of individuals with this novel as it practically invented fantasy fiction due to the lack of this style in the era the book was developed, considering the idea was very new and ... • 5. Native American Religion Chapter 3 Summary In Chapter 2 and Chapter 3, the book highlights some interesting parts about indigenous religions of North America and Africa. For starters, in the indigenous religions, they have some interesting beliefs about how the world was created. Many of the beliefs they hold about the origin of the creation of man, is from ancient myths of North America. The belief that North America is the motherland for all creation. However, each native religionhas different t how they describe their superman being. Another interesting aspect about the indigenous religions of the native American was the tale about how the coyote became a dirt color. At first, the coyote was green and was envious of the bluebird which was a beautiful blue. The coyote eventually asked the bluebird how it got its color and eventually, the coyote became... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... An arrogant spirit filled the coyote and he walked proudly, so every creature would admire. The arrogant coyote wasn t looking where he was going one day and tripped and fell in a pile of dirt. When the coyote got up, its color changed from the beautiful blue to a dirt color. I found this tale interesting because it shows the danger of arrogance and some of the moral teachings of humbleness in indigenous native American religions. I believe that religions that have tales about how their moral and ethical teaching came about are interesting because I can trace the source of how it came about. Chapter 3 described the indigenous religions of Africa and the myths, supernatural being s history, and the incorporation of Islam and Christianity into the different indigenous religions. I found it interesting that many of the indigenous religions keep the tradition from their culture into Islam and Christianity. In Islam for instance, it has spread through North Africa and in West Africa where many of its followers retain beliefs about possession by spirits called ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Organ Donations Philosophy Paper Phil 2300 301 13 April 2010 [Title] Is it time for our society to reconsider the prohibitive laws that make it legally impossible to establish licit markets for bodily organs? So many people are unable to obtain organs they need due to the lack of availability. Increased medical advances have created the need for many more organs than are available (Staff). A commercial market may or may not solve the problem. There is a lack of commitment when it comes to donating organs which could be from fear. Potential donors fear medical personnel will not make every attempt possible to save their lives if they know they are donors. Little do they know, their organs will be available to save 50 more lives in the event of their death. The idea... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One example of this situation is the following incident: In 2001, Brian Lykins, 23, of Minnesota, died because a small piece of cadaver material used to repair his knee was contaminated with bacteria (Armour). There is also the possibility of the recipient becoming seriously infected due to unsanitary handling during the dismemberment process. Whereas done in a legally regulated environment, this process can be done in a sterile operating room decreasing the risk of infection (Armour). There is legislation and laws in place to avoid these incidents; however those who deal in the black market normally are not law abiding individuals concerned with these regulations. There are 3 proposed solutions to the problem. An organ market, a presumed consent program and a required request program (The Legal Dictionary). The organ market idea would be a system where living donors would sign a contract while they are still alive. This contract means a fixed amount would be decided for the donation . This would allow for the donors organs to be removed upon their death. This could be done with a cash payment or a tax credit prior to death. Benefits to this would mean a greater availability of organs. It could also drive the cost of operations down due to the number of transplants that are performed enabling staff to become more proficient and operations more affordable. It would also decrease the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Post Mission Bone Fractures Bone: When astronauts go on to a long term space mission and remain in the reduced gravity environment for a long time, there are some potential harmful influence to the bones, which include bone lose, accelerated loss of bone minerals and increased chances for renal stones. It is also notifiable that reduced gravity environment can, to some extent, give rise to possible post mission bone fractures. There are some evidence and background to prove that there is strong correlation between space flight and bone abnormality. First, it is noticed that bone loss accelerated for an astronaut. The amount of bone loss for an astronaut in a single month, which is about 1 to 1.5 percent, is equal to that for a postmenopausal women who did not receive... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, it is very hard to achieve the perfect outcome although there are several methods to accomplish it. One way to achieve it is to build a doughnut shaped habitation section which can be used to offset the effect of gravity by rotating the spaceship which will provide a force pushing them away from the center of rotation. However, there are several aspects that need to be taken into consideration. First is that there has to be a source of energy to make the spaceship rotate in the first space. Second, for those nonrotating parts, the friction will slow the rotation unless there is more energy input. Third, such hypothesis is built on the possibility of building a very large spaceship with large radius, which can be a big engineering challenge. Moreover, as the force generated is proportional to the radius of the rotation and to the square of the rotation speed, for instance, to rotate at 1 rpm requires a radius of 900m, the energy needed to maintain such rotation and rotation speed can be tremendous and the structure also has to be strong enough to withstand such high speed rotation. The second possible solutions is by acceleration which is based on Einstein s General Theory of Relativity that gravity and acceleration are equivalent. Theoretically, if a spaceship can ... • 8. Clear And Concise Outline Of Tarantino s Pulp Fiction In order to establish a clear and concise outline of Tarantino s work in relation to the consideration of film being represented as high art, we need to begin with one of his earlier and more distinguished works, Pulp Fiction. Pulp Fiction is not for the faint of heart and its allure boils down to a matter of personal preference and judgement, but its magnitude as a filmis a matter of history. One of the main reasons Pulp Fiction has found so much success and praise in the art community is that Tarantino ushered in a new era of post modernism in the film industry. Basically, what aesthetic Postmodernism states is that what already has been done, has been done before and there is nothing new . Postmodernism can also be distinguished by the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As we previously stated, Tarantino s dialogue is not simply quirky and original. There is a systematic process behind his choice of dialogue and sequence of events. This is fully exemplified in an exchange between Jules and one of the kids in the apartment. And the story of how Wallace had a man thrown out of a four story window for giving his wife a foot massage. Tarantino is laying the groundwork with his dialogue for a scene in which Vincent agrees to take Mia Wallace (wife of Marsellus Wallace) out on a date, on his bosses orders. When Mia accidentally overdoses, Vincent rushes her to his drug dealer, Lance, who resuscitates her with a shot of adrenaline injected directly into her heart. We then meet Lance s girlfriend, Jody, who begins to talk about her piercing fetish. This scene is where you get to witness the subtle instances of dialogue that Tarantino has put into place for a specific pay off in the scenes to come. Tarantino never actually shows the needle entering the chest, but instead he pans away to a shot in which everyone glaring over the body jumps back simultaneously as Mia is brought back to life. And then Jody explains that it was trippy and we contextualize that she has seen the ultimate ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. Kisspeptin Nerve Cell Essay Samantha Hutchins 11/10/15 Kisspeptin Nerve Cell Nerve cells are known to receive an initial signal, propagate it, and ultimately deliver it to an effector cell. This passage of information is very complex and the slightest derailment can cause the entire cascade to cease. In the articles, Effects of the Hormone Kisspeptin on Reproductive Hormone Release in Humans and Pacemaking Kisspeptin Neurons the Kisspeptin neuron as well as its associated neurons and messengers are discussed. The articles mainly serve to define the Kisspeptin nerve s main role in puberty and reproduction, whereas previously the nerve was mostly researched in regard to its effect on tumors. This indicated that they indeed work together and also shows that the Gonadotrophin answers to the Kisspeptin neurotransmitters, opposed to the other way around. Additionally, by electrically inducing the Kisspeptin in a laboratory, an increase in the Gonadotrophin releasing hormone neurons was observed. If Kisspeptin is artificially inhibited, a decrease in secretions produced by the Gonadotrophin hormone is detected (Kelly 1536). Also, Kisspeptin levels in the blood plasma during pregnancy have been noted to be quite elevated opposed to non gestational plasma levels (Calley 2). These findings are pretty indisputable and create a logical working order of the Kisspeptin Gonadotrophin system. Kisspeptin works as a middleman since the signal is not initially produced in the Kisspeptin neuron. In this sense, Kisspeptin is also a post synaptic neuron as it receives its impulses from gonad steroids originally (Kelly 1535). Overall, steroid hormones activate the Kisspeptin neuron which in turn synapses with the Gonadotrophin releasing hormone neuron that is responsible for starting the cascade of hormones released in puberty and in ... • 10. Personal Narrative-Haunted Haunted Today marks the four year anniversary of my brother s suicide, and once again I am haunted. Haunted by the last conversation I had with Mike the weekend before he died. He was panicked and overwhelmed over some issues with his job and with his landlord. He was being kind of a drama queen, his stress way out of proportion to the problems he was facing. I wasn t worried because I knew things would work out one way or another. I had no idea he was teetering on the edge of sanity. Only in hindsight can we identify the warning signs we didn t notice at the time. In reality, he had already made his plan and was calling to say good bye. Haunted by the text ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I said to Dolly that we needed to call Uncle Mike after her race because he really wanted to talk to us. Haunted by the park bench across the road from the de Young Museum in Golden Gate Park where I called my parents and they told me that Mike was dead, that he had shot himself in the head with a shotgun. • 11. Demographics And Its Impact On Health And Health In my research, I discovered that population trends will dramatically impact healthcare. Simply put the more people who exists the more healthcare that is required. Population is not the only factor and other sub factors of population such as age, race, and ethnicity or demographics and they also have an impact on Healthcare. For example, the population of people in the U.S. over the age of 65 in 1950 was only 8.1% of the total population. The trend of that number is expected to rise to 20.2% by 2050. Geographic trends can assist healthcare professionals where to focus their educational efforts in terms of healthcare availability. Psychographics examines the consumer or the factors that motive them such as values, attitudes, beliefs, motions, interests, and personalities. Demographic trends can be used to target specific gender and ethnic groups from a healthcare perspective. An example of this targeted healthcare is research showed that males, both non Hispanic and Hispanic, in the Michigan area where disproportionately affected by cancer (Kodjebacheva, Blankenship, Hayman Jr, Parker, 2016). The application of this is by knowing this data and data similar to it, we will be able to have focused HealthCare to the demographics that statistically need it more than others. The study of Geographic trends will allow us to better understand physically where healthcare resources are lacking compared to other typically developed areas. Introduction: I am going to do an experiment that will test whether algae effects mud snails. I want to test this because I have learned about the effects of algae on certain ecosystems, and I want to know how it will affect the salt marsh. I am interested in how algae growth will effect mud snails. This project will help me learn the effects of algae on organisms living in the salt marsh. Question: How does algae affect mud snails living in the salt marsh? Hypothesis: High amounts of algae growing in the salt marsh will cause a large decrease in the mud snail population. Collection of Data: I am going to create three environments: one with no algae growing, one with normal algae levels (as a control group), and one with high amounts of algae growing. Then I will place a population of 100 mud snails in each. Finally, I will make a graph of how many mud snails are alive at the different amounts of algae growth. How I will analyze my data: I will organize my data into a graph. This will let me compare my results easily because I will be able to see the mud snail population in comparison to the amount of algae growth. Paul Revere and other members of the Whig Party were key in alerting the colonists to the impending British. The supporters of Revere and his platform made up a majority of the New England coast line, specifically New Hampshire and Massachusetts and were essential pieces in allowing Revere s plan to prevail. From these people birthed a militia who were able to defend the land and other materials from the British and set up the foundation for our American armed forces. This society, in order to succeed, had to be able to communicate, play to their strengths, and be willing to risk everything for a shot at freedom. Using these traits, the colonists, with Revere as their leader, were able to defeat the British. Communication is key The ability to communicate is one skill that sets the minutemen and supporting colonist apart from others of that time. More importantly, it set them apart from the British enemies. In the beginning chapters of the book I had the perception that Paul Revere was just a gossip monger. Wind Power in the Near Future Essay Wind Power in the Near Future Today many people are anxious about energy for the future, as it seems realistic that petroleum energy will someday run out and since some environmental problems caused by petroleum use are getting worse. As alternatives to today s main energy source, oil, some others have been proposed already, such as solar, water, biomass, and nuclear. Wind Power is the one of the ways that has the biggest potential and is the most practical. And it is predicted to play an important role in electrical generation for the new era. But to think wind power will be the dominant energy source can be too optimistic. How will wind power be used? To what extent will wind power take the place of petroleum? We can find the answers ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Decentralized power production can bring immunity to largescale electrical grid failures. As wind turbines can be adapted to this use, increasing amounts of wind power will be utilized as a means to micropower generation. These examples suggest that wind power will be used in ways that correspond to each needed capacity and purpose. In the article Wind Energy: An Untapped Resource, the Wind Energy Association estimates the potential amount of wind power generation capacity in the U.S.A. at 10,777 billion kW/h, which is three times the electricity generated in the U.S.A. today. However, it also predicts that we are unlikely ever to use even half of that potential. In fact, in 2000, the U.S.A. was using less than 1% of that potential! When an asset such as new equipment is purchased by an organization, the seemingly obvious choice for reporting such an expense would be to record it entirely at the time of its purchase, and simply record income in the years following. This, however, is not the method used by accountants. Rather, they use a method of depreciating the asset. This basically means spreading the expense of the asset of the years of its useful life. This is the required method of accounting, according to the matching principle. This principle states that to record the entire expense the first year would skew the results of operations over the asset ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Since the goal is to give the fairest representation of the financial position, at times adjustments such as these must be made. What equation describes the periodic inventory system? In a periodic inventory system, on hand items are tracked from time to time rather than continuously. This requires the company using the system to obtain a physical count at any time they must record the inventory. The equation used in this system takes the balance of the beginning inventory, plus all purchased items, and subtracting the ending balance. This formula determines the amount of inventory that was sold or used since the previous count was taken. For example, if a store hand a beginning inventory of 1,000 units, purchased an additional 4,000 units, and had an ending balance of 2,000 units, they have determined that 3,000 units were sold. The limitations of this system are that the company does not continuously know how many items are on hand, as well as the inability to know that one of the missing units was sold and not stolen, damaged, etc. This limits the company s abilities in ordering additional stock due to low ... Naegleria fowleria typically reside within fish or other water dwelling organisms, but they have been known to infiltrate the human body via the nasal cavity. Once within the body, naegleria fowleri attack the human nervous system and brain. This process is called Primary amoebic meningoencephalitis and although such infections are rare, contraction almost always guarantees death. The case fatality rate is over 95%. Once the disease has been contracted, the subject will most likely be dead within five days. The longest running bout of this infection ever recorded was a mere twenty five days, with the shortest being sixteen hours.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These symptoms can appear as quickly as an hour after contraction. Because these symptoms are so generic, many people have mistaken cases of naegleria fowleri for the common cold, which has resulted in many misdiagnoses and eventual deaths. Secondary symptoms of the disease include confusion, hallucinations, lack of attention, ataxia (meaning a loss of coordination), and seizures. Eventually, the patient lapses into a coma where they later die, still within this comatose state. While the patient is comatose, the amoeba consumes the brain piece by piece. Naegleria fowleri can be stopped but once the patient drops into a coma, the survival rate becomes even bleaker. The survival rate, which is already miniscule at less than 1%, morphs into a number even smaller than its predecessor. Only Amphotericin B, an anti fungal drug, has proven to be effective against the likes of naegleria ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 34. Factors Of Juvenile Crime Juvenile crime has been a major issue in the United State, from the beginning and its impact on society. People are trying to find effective ways to stop it. Juvenile crime has many factors that influences the United States and makes people want to stop it. Juvenile crime is an issue that needs to be stopped. Juvenile crimecan be a danger to many people. Juvenile crime had a strong uprising when conditions within the society got worse. Research over the past few decades on normal child development and development on delinquent behavior has shown that individual, social, and community conditions and interactions influence behavior(McCord). This says that in bad environments in the community the children that live there are more likely to be an individual with juvenile delinquency. Clearly, genes affect biological development, but there is no biological development without environmental input, Bock and Goode (McCord, 66). This quote says that environmental interaction develops kids, so kids that interact with a bad environment can end up in a worse position than other kids [what other kids? Kids from a good environment? JMH]. The age can influence whether or not a child will be a juvenile delinquent. Studies of criminal activity by age constantly find that rates of offending begin to rise in pre adolescence or early adulthood(McCord). This says that juvenile crime usually starts when the children are teens or entering their puberty years. This can be a big deal because that age is usually when kids are influenced more easily. The percentage of boys who self reported serious delinquent behavior rose from 5 percent at age 6 to about 18 percent at age 16 for whites and 27 percent for blacks at age 16. Loeber (McCord,68). This says that delinquent behavior and crime rose for each race at the age of 16. The family influence also plays a big role for a child if the child is going to be a delinquent or not. When families have difficulties with the task laid on them, the product often is a juvenile delinquent.(McCord) This says that parents with no care in how their child ends up will have their child become a juvenile delinquent. Juvenile crime is affecting the United states because Juvenile crime and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This book has changed my whole perspective of evolution. Before I read this book I was a strong believer in creation but while reading this book I realized that there are to many connections between all of earths animals. I am unable see a scenario where we could share so much of our genes with other creatures and still say that we did not evolve from other animals and were just created by a god. What is evolution? The fifth part of the evolution theory is natural selection. Natural selection is an idea that life doesn t require creation or guidance from a supernatural being. Natural selection depends only on nature in which the population will adapt to their environment while the one who are unable to adapt will die off. But natural selection cannot provide perfection but can only help the creatures to evolve just enough to be able to survive. The sixth and final part of the evolution theory is the nonselective mechanisms of evolutionary change. Nonselective mechanisms of evolutionary change is the idea that natural selection is not the only means of evolutionary change which means that creatures naturally evolve over time even if they do not need to evolve to survive because every creatures DNA is constantly changing. Even with these six ideas evolution is still only a theory and is not accepted as true until there is enough evidence collect to the point where it can tested over and over again to the point when all reasonable people can accept it as the truth. But the only was to do this is to test the theory against other theories using the six parts of evolution to show that evolution is fact. One way to test the evolution theory is to look at what is Written In The Rocks . • 38. The Gender Differences And Consequences Of Gender... Socialization is this expectation that you must live by with the rules of conduct and behavior. Where you have laws and must live by because it s a must or you ll be punished but socialization is where you have to follow nature s law although its not negatively reinforced. You are to do things that people expect and if you do otherwise you are looked at weirdly or thought to be the odd ball. Which then brings me to gendersocialization, some people are very strict when it comes to gender roles. For example video games. Some boys and girls are limited to the type of games they are allowed to play based on their gender. Gender socialization is socialization but for just gender roles. So girls can only do girly things and boy may not because it s just for girls and vise versa. Girl are to not participate in male games because it s a guy thing. A few examples would be two brothers playing wrestling because that s what they watch on tv and the sister that wants to join older or younger but can t because mommy and daddy said she couldn t. You might wonder and ask why and at times you can get responses like: she s a girl she can t play with boys that dangerous it s a boy games, you re just a little girl why don t you play with you baby doll little girls don t play that you can get hurt but the problem they don t see is even though yes it s possible she can get hurt to so can the two other kids. Increased spending on investment adds to aggregate demand and helps to restore normal levels of production and employment.Fiscal policy, on the other hand, can provide an additional tool to combat recessions and is particularly useful when the tools of monetary policy lose their effectiveness. When the government cuts taxes, it increases households disposable income, which encourages them to increase spending on consumption. When the government buys goods and services, it adds directly to aggregate demand. Moreover, these fiscal actions can have multiplier effects: Higher aggregate demand leads to higher incomes, which in turn induces additional consumer spending and further increases in aggregate demand.Traditional Keynesian analysis indicates that increases in government purchases are a more potent tool than decreases in taxes. When the government gives a dollar in tax cuts to a household, part of that dollar may be saved rather than spent. The part of the dollar that is saved does not contribute to the aggregate demand for goods and services. By contrast, when the government spends a dollar buying a good or service, that dollar immediately and fully adds to aggregate demand.| Critics of spending hikes argue that tax cuts can expand both aggregate demand and aggregate supply and that hasty increases in government spending may lead to wasteful public projects.Tax cuts increase aggregate demand by increasing household s disposable income, as ... Inclusion is all around us and it is commonly unnoticed. From an educational perspective, inclusion refers to the idea of placing students with disabilities in general education classes or other school activities (Hallahan, Kauffman, Pullen, 2015). Early childhood education has been trying to incorporate inclusion in numerous ways, along with all other education. Integrated classrooms are very popular and has changed education drastically. Just like everything, inclusion in education has its flaws, but no the less, is making progress. Historical Background of Inclusion The concept of inclusion in the classroom has not been around for as long as many people think. For children with disabilities, it is typically best for them to be in the least restrictive environment (LRE). In many cases, this is the general classroom with their peers who do not have disabilities. Classrooms were not always set up in this manner that they are today. Getting to the point that we are at today did take some difficult battles and arguments that do not go unnoticed. There are various attributes to the inclusion in education.
