The Lifetime Of A Nuclear Power Plant Essay
The lifetime of a nuclear power plant is planned to be 40 years. Recently there are trails to raise this
life in new constructions as well as the old ones to 60 years (1 4). During this prolonged lifetime
components are exposed to degradation that may affect safe operation of the plant. Such influences
affect pressure retaining items of the plant including reactor pressure vessel, reactor piping, bolting
and threaded fasteners, steam generator materials and several other items (5). The Reactor Pressure
Vessel (RPV) is the most critical component in the LWR pressure boundary. It is the only
component in this boundary whose failure is considered to be of such low probability that it is
considered essentially incredible. NRC regulations require that RPV steels maintain conservative
margin for fracture toughness so that flaws do not threaten the integrity of a RPV during either
normal operation and maintenance cycles or under accident transients such as Pressurized Thermal
Shock (PTS) (6). The major technical issues regarding aging of RPV include: high fluences, for
long times that may lead to high emrittlement creating large uncertainties for emrittlement
predictions (7). Increasing nickel content in the RPV steel, all other factors being equal, causes
increasing emrittlement (7). The degradation mechanisms that may affect RPV include Irradiation
embrittlement, Thermal ageing, Temper embrittlement, Fatigue and Corrosion (8). Concerning
nuclear piping the main degradation

Literature Review On Employee Retention

Compensation and employee retention
Employees always want to be paid well for the job they do, both for their self esteem and as a
practical means to living. The importance of compensation in employee retention depends on the
type of job they do and field of employment they are in. Compensation does not only include the
basic salary, but also some benefits and other remunerations.
In her article, Barbara Bean (2017) gives an insight on how to retain employees like nurses into
their jobs. She further explains that to get employees retain their job positions and even improve
their service deliver, compensation should be considered. Keeping the salaries competitive with

Humanoid Robots Essay
Introduction: For years robotic technology has depicted fictional humanoid robots in movies and
television, consequently peaking our imagination of artificial life forms. No longer are humanoid
robots fiction, but reality as roboticists have been developing them not only with an appearance
based on a human body but with humanlike sensory and movements. Moreover, humanoid robots
are performing human tasks from industrial to service jobs and can survive in any kind of
environment. The advancement of robotic research involves the fields of science, cognitive science,
programming and engineering (Cheng). Some people consider humanoid robots a threatening force
because they feel they are not safe, they will take over our jobs, or are uncomfortable with their...

A.Anthropomorphism plays the role in the design of humanoid robots to improve the acceptance
of robots. 1.Three parts are included in the design of a humanoid robot: a physical shape, robotic
behavior, and social characteristics of a human. 2.The design of the robot and how it behaves is

Xavier University Jazz Ensemble
I attended the concert of Xavier University Jazz Ensemble which was held on Wednesday,
December 10 and took place in Gallagher Theater. Instrumentation was the style of ensemble and
the instruments used at the band were saxophone, trombone, trumpet, piano, guitar, drum, and
saxophone. Personnel were the students of Xavier University, community members, and Xavier
Faculty/staffs.
Tite of the tunes are range from big band era to Jazz rock fusion. For instance, One O clock Jump
which is a tune from big band era, Scrapple from the Apple which came from bebop era, and
Paranoid Android which is a tune of rock fusion. The others are March Majestic, Pennsylvania6

So, I can recognize the differences of each categories of jazz tunes. Especially, the shift from
bebop era to smooth jazz era was easy to understand. Smooth jazz was intended to make tunes
easier to listen, so it term of melodies and improvisations are shorter than bebop era and it was
comfortable to listen for me. When I listened to September, I can recognize the A A B A form. In
addition to this, I can easily find the A A B A form in Pennsylvania 6 5000. As we learned in the
class, big band jazz caught popularity because of the easiness melodies, I convince those reasons.

Lean Vs Lean Manufacturing Systems
Executive Summary Lean Manufacturing Systems were first introduced in Japan by the Toyota
Motor Corporation. The Lean movement is a type of a system that relies on simple visual cues in
order to manage production stages that are based on customer demand. The system is a is also a
kind of manufacturing that put great emphasis on the minimization of resources, time included, that
is utilized in various activities of manufacturing and provides techniques for uninterrupted quality
improvement. Although this system has gained enormous momentum and respect over the last
decades, some companies have found it difficult to use Lean ManufacturingSystems, and, as a
result, the companies have ended up failing. The concept of Lean Systems is best understood
when companies familiarize themselves with certain key insights that are utilized during the
course of systems architecting. The article provides a synopsis of the lean and is divided into four
parts that will be mainly used for the purpose of this review.
The article starts by comparing Lean Systems used in Japan compared to the ones used in the west.
The success of lean production has induced mass producers to copy many of its features, but it is
not always successful (Maier and Rechtin, 2002, p.70). The success of Japanese in using lean
production can be linked to the limitation of conversion of lean systems in other environments. In
the West, industrial engineers and management science people

Although each classification of natural disaster is capable of creating catastrophic destruction, I
feel that the destruction resulting from the accumulated factors that are responsible for Tsunamis
have a potential destructive force far greater than other singular forces of nature on their own;
Furthermore, due to the densely populated urbanized regions in high risk zones the potential impact
on humans form Tsunamis is elevated in comparison with other phenomena s which may occur
with little impact on human society. Therefore a natural event that may be of similar magnitude
may occur without impacting our society and will in turn only be viewed as a geological event,

Despite the destructive force of the original earthquake, a massive tidal surge will follow sometimes
only minutes after the initial shockwave with an even greater destructive force.
Atlantic Costal cities such as New York may not suffer from Tsunamis caused by mega thrusts
along submissive faults, Atlantic cities are still at risk of Tsunamis in some form. In 1929 a
Tsunami hit the coast of Newfoundland Canada which was caused by a massive underwater
landslide on the continental shelf that caused a massive water surge. A Tsunami of this nature could
still affect regions such as New York City and other large cities along the Atlantic.
The biggest risk of Tsunamis is along the Pacific cost lines, Oceania and the Indian Ocean regions.
Seismic activity in the South Pacific, Oceania and Indian regions in particular can strike with
devastating force is some of the worlds most densely populated regions. The destructive force,
compounded by issues relating to construction standards of many of these nations which are still

The Crime Of Crime And Crime
Crime is everywhere. It dominates news broadcasts and newspapers. It also takes up the majority
of television shows and movies. As well as a great deal of fiction novels and books. Controlling
and fighting crimes are essential for the safety of citizens. Also the credibility and power of a
government are affected greatly by how they handle crimeand deal with criminals. When a crime
takes place, the part that fascinates people the most is how the offender is captured and brought to
justice (Nathan, 2005, p 29 34).
Nowadays, nearly all serious crimes are solved with the help of one or more police investigators,
police officers, witness testimonies, and the help of psychological profilers and forensics.
Science has great contributions in the detection of crime and controlling criminals. The
advancement in DNA identification and a variety of forensic procedures help in solving many
crimes as it is portrayed in fictional television shows such as CSI.
Contributions from psychology are slowly emerging to keep up with these developments from the
natural sciences. There are many different ways in which psychology can contribute to police work.
All are brought up together under the field of investigative psychology.
The contributions that psychologist can make to police investigations have been most widely
known and understood in terms of offender profiles . Offender profiling is the combination of
sociological, psychiatric, psychological, and criminological disciplinary

Both the parties in the exchange of power for privileges want their transaction to be a secret,
which makes it difficult to establish how widely and deeply corruption has penetrated into our
economy and social life. Below listed are some of the characteristics.
a) Recipients and payers.
b) Extortion.
c) Lubricant of society.
d) An ethical problem.
e) Poverty reduction.
Recipients and payers
Corruption is the abuse of entrusted power and elected authority for private profit. Complaints
are often heard about politicians and public officials who accept bribes and enrich themselves
privately at the expense of the common citizen. This may be at the expense of the employee or
the employer, consumer and the producer, the renter and the tenant, the one applying for a permit
or asking exemption from an obligation to pay or to deliver a product or service. All the cases
might be considered to be abuse of power authority for one s own benefit.
Extortion
Most of them go a step further. They not only blame the politicians but also the public officials
for willingly accepting the bribes. They often allege that those having authority in the society ask
to be bribed or give an opportunity to bribe. There is no escaping from it, if one refuses to pay, you
are bound to fall behind.
Lubricant of Society
Many believe that paying bribe is required to ensure smoother operation of the society. They think
that without an occasional gift, entering into a contract

If You Can Not Preach Like Paul
This hermeneutical journey report will highlight the Swing method provided by Nancy Lamers
Grossman in her book, If You Cannot Preach Like Paul. This particular sermon writing process
focuses on the scripture text John1:1 18, and it will be written and preached in a style that reflects
Anna Carter Florence s Testimonial Methodology.
Choosing the Text:
This particular sermon is being prepared for an evening vesper service on the first Sunday of
Advent. This will be the third service of the day for this particular congregation, and it will follow
the morning services, which will have been guided by the lectionary text for that day. For this
particular service, candle light, and light in general, is a main theme. The congregation will sit
within the sanctuary, and the only light will be from the candle light and Advent decoration. Also,
this service is to help congregation members prepare their hearts for the Advent season in its
entirety. It is a service that marks the beginning of an important journey. I chose the passage
John1:1 18 in an attempt to meet the two main needs that this service requires, light imagery and
preparation for the coming of Jesus. The light is significant in this text because the author refers to
Jesus being the light for the world that sits in darkness, which seemed to me to be a great place to
start for this particular service. Additionally, this passage is the gospel text for this upcoming
Christmas Daily Text reading. I felt that if this is to

How Did The Capture Of Nazi Germany s Recovery During The...
When the Great Depression began, the British Empire suffered for high unemployment and
poverty. The empire was still recovering from the Great War and the Depression surprised many
government officials. Soon enough, the government took emergency measures to balance the
budget and restore confidence in the pound by issuing an emergency budget, which immediately
instituted a round of cuts in public spending and wages. Public sector wages and unemployment
pay were cut by 10%, and income tax was raised from 4s 6d to 5s in the pound. However, these
measures were unsuccessful as unemployment rose and the gold standard dropped. After years of
measures to combat against the depression, a slow recovery begun in 1934 because of the
withdrawal from the gold standard and the devaluation of the pound. As a result, British exports
became more competitive on world markets. During that period of recovery, Nazi Germany was
born as Hitler took complete control of the country. Then, an revolt against Hitler began and the
country fell into chaos. The British were watching from the sidelines as the Royal Freikorps rose to

`` The Scourge Of `` And Selling The General ``
In Rebecca Meads article The Scourge of Relatability, she describes relatability in literature as to
describe a character or a situation in which an ordinary person might see himself reflected. In
every book we read or movie we watch, it is most enjoyable when we are able to connect to the
characters and the situations that they are in. It is exhilarating for us to think about what would
happen if we were in that crazy situation that the character was in, but we just want to experience it
from a safe distance and not actually be in that situation, which enables us to sympathize with the
characters. This concept of relatability and sympathy is demonstrated throughout Jennifer Egan s
Found Objects and Selling the General. The main characters, Sasha and Dolly, at first come off as
stereotypical selfish villains, but we are able to relate because they are seeking that emotional
connection that every human desires. However, just because we are able to relate to these
characters it doesn t mean we are sympathetic toward them, the characters actions and their motives
behind their actions are what defines them and ultimately make us feel either sympathetic or
unsympathetic towards them. Sasha is an extremely troubled woman, who has struggled with
compulsive stealing; but she is a different kind of thief because she doesn t steal items with much
financial value, she steals personal items. Sasha has never been able to emotionally connect with
people even though every

Please whatever you do don t let the depressing facts about the dollar keep you from making money
in 2008. What the pessimistic press isn t telling you is how you can profit from the lowest dollar
in 15 years. There is a extraordinary opportunity heading your way if you know how to seize it.
But first let me explain how the falling dollar really works. Then you ll see with your own eyes
how you can profit. A falling dollar does two things:
* Makes foreign imports more expensive
* Makes US exports cheaper on the world market
The chain reaction not only increases sales of U.S. goods around the world but also creates more
jobs for Americans. The end result increases the profits of U.S. multinationals.
And that s just the half of it.
Because a cheaper dollar makes foreign products more expensive, Americans buy more American
goods as well creating even more U.S. jobs. On a purely psychological level, it does even more
than that: It creates greater investor and consumer confidence, as more Americans are working,
more consumers are

Life In Milan Kundera s The Unbearable Lightness Of Being
In The Unbearable Lightness of Being , Milan Kundera informs readers that without the ability
to compare our lives to others, we cannot find meaning in our lives, but remain between life s
lightness and heaviness. He does this by illustrating the relationships between four characters:
Tomas, Tereza, Sabina, and Franz. The novel begins in the year 1968 with Tomas, who is a
brilliant surgeon from Prague and a perpetual bachelor. In a small town cafe, he fortuitously met
Tereza, who was his waitress; to Tereza, the moment was magical because one of her favorite
compositions by Beethoven was playing on the radio and that he enjoyed literature. Tereza
evidently followed Tomas to Prague with her life packed within a suitcase and she intended to
offer her life to him. The two started living with each other, but Tomas was incapable of
terminating his bachelor lifestyle full of mistresses. He tried to hide his infidelity, but Tereza
found a letter from one of his mistresses, Sabina. She wrote to Tomas saying, I want to make love
to you in my studio. It will be like a stage surrounded by people. The audience won t be allowed
up close, but they won t be able to take their eyes off us. (Pg. 16). Tomas confessed and told her
that these sexual acts were separate from his love for her. This information marred Tereza s
mind; she starting having horrendous nightmares and began contemplating suicide. He then
married her, to relieve her of her distress. Yet he still kept his mistresses. Eventually Sabina and
Tereza become close friends, but Tereza s jealousy still remained the same. Sabina, Tereza, and
Tomas fled to Switzerland due to the Soviet Union inhabiting Czechoslovakia. Tereza left behind
her career as a photographer, became unemployed, and had to sit home alone as Tomas continued
his affairs. She then began to believe, when the strong were too weak to hurt the weak, the weak
have to be strong enough to leave. (Pg. 75). Then, she returned back to Prague. Tomas was
enjoying his liberation for a few days, but he gave up and left for Prague. This evidently meant that
the couple gave up their freedom because there was no chance that the couple would be allowed to
leave again due to the Communist regime. In

five years old (Brighthubcom, 2016). Language development is one of the most critical roles for an
educator in both early childhood and primary settings. It is this ability of language development
that is particularly interesting in the nature vs nurture debate. In order for educators to provide
effective communication, it is important that they have the knowledge and understanding of the
four key concepts of language, such as phonological, syntactic, semantic and pragmatic
development and the underlying theoretical perspectives that explain the processes of language
acquisition and development.
Nature or, in other words, heredity refers to traits that are inherited or genetic. Linguist Noam
Chomsky is a strong advocate of this perspective. He has spent a lot of time on evolving a theory
of grammar that is called universal grammar. Chomsky believed that language is innate, or in
other words we are born with a capacity for language. Chomsky suspected there is an optimal
learning age, between the ages of 3 to 10 where a child is the most likely to learn a language in its
entirety and grasp fluency. The child does not need a prompt to begin language acquisition, it
happens on its own. If a child is around

what diarrhea is. Numerous ways of avoiding and curing Diarrhea for both adult and children will

can be caused, as a result of, consuming certain medicines, not being able to digest some specific
foods, some colon issues or it can be created because of the diseases, which impact stomach, small
intestine. Fortunately, there is an abundance of preventative measures for diarrhea such as having
wonderful hygiene, always cook the meat before consuming it and so on. When it comes to
children and babies specifically, they tend to bite their toys which can lead them towards
diarrhea. Most of the time, diarrhea of children is associated with the rotavirus. It is quite a usual
virus and it can multiply quickly. Rotavirus vaccines are the only remedies which can truly defeat
the virus, even though this vaccine is for eliminating the virus, not for curing or preventing
diarrhea. Aside from the rotavirus diarrhea, traveler s diarrhea is the common symptom for
travelers who decide to travel to developing countries. A few actions can be made to avoid this
type of diarrhea, which are to not drink tap water or use it to brush your teeth, restrain

The Current State of the U.S. Economy Essay
The Current State of the U.S. Economy
The United States economy is racing ahead at dangerous speeds, and it may be too late to prevent
the return of widespread inflation. Ideally the economy should move ahead gradually and grow at
a steady manageable rate. Mae West once stated Too much of a good thing can be wonderful and it
seems the U.S. Treasury Secretary agrees. The Secretary announced that due to our increasing
surplus and booming economy, instead of having an outsized tax cut, we should use the surplus to
further pay down the national debt. A tax cut, though most Americans would favor it initially,
would prove counter productive. Cutting taxes would over stimulate an already raging economy,

The federal reserve has raised interest rates five times in less then twelve months, and the
pervious raises are just barely beginning to take effect. The previous raises averaged around a
quarter percentage point, and since these raises failed to slow the economy, Greenspan, unable to
take anymore chances doubled the previous with a promise of more to come. The interest rates
are expected to reach 7.0% by June, the most severally effected by these constant raises are
shareholders. Because of these immediate effects market economists are largely against the
interest rate hikes. Their position is that the average inflation rate over the past three years has
been at around 2% close to the markets expected inflation rate of 1.9%. The economy is on a
sixteen year run, continually moving forward. The historical data is there however; the consumer
price index was at 1.6% over the past twelve months and the March year over year rate was at 3.7%
The market economists do not stop there due to the vast improvements in productivity, largely due
to increased technology and the internet, some market economists argue that Greenspan should
leave the economy as is. Ideally the growth rate of the economy should be set by the growth rate of
the labor force and productivity, and if the two were similar, inflation would not be a factor. The

Humanistic Psychodynamic Approach To Anxiety Disorder

A Research Study On Forensic Psychology
Through the submission of my statement I am willing to share my personal abilities, declare my
academic competence and provide motives and causes which led me to pursue a Postgraduate
degree in the field of Forensic Psychology. Obtaining a PsyD in Forensic Psychology will not
only provide me with more specific knowledge and research opportunities at the graduate level,
but it will serve as a foundation for a career in Psychology.
The reason which led me to apply for a DForPsy degree in Nottingham university rather than a
Ph.D. is mostly because I m particularly interested in practising psychology rather than exclusively
conducting research and work in academia. However, the fact that the top up programme in
Forensic Psychology is focused on clinical skills but also placed an emphasis on research it
provides me with the advantage of flexibility in my future career.
A particularly important factor in choosing this career path has been my undergraduate experience
when under my dissertation I conducted a study in the field of cyberbullying assessing the
psychological characteristics of perpetrators and victims within a sample of 453 junior high school
students. This gave me the chance to contribute in teaching about cyberbullying in an audience of
students, parents and teachers. During this experience I was required to take an active leadership
role in terms of preparing lecture materials, providing a series of certain lectures for the public and

Social Factors Of Indonesia Essay
Social Factors
Demographic dividend (Domestic issue) Positive factor
Indonesia population is 250 million, which on the 5th position over the world (Central Intelligence
Agency, 2014). The majority of the population age is between 14 to 30 years old. So Indonesia
has been seen as a young country with the demographic dividend. It provides more lost cost labour
to boost the economy and requires more job opportunities.
Consumer Culture (Domestic issue) Positive factor
Thompson stated that from a social and cultural point of view to examine the consumption choices
will benefit the country s economy (Thompson, 2005). Therefore the understanding of Indonesian
consumer s behavior is the priority of any investment.
Religion is an important element in Indonesian society. Investors should note that more than 90%
population of Indonesia is Muslim which means the business must not break the Muslim doctrines.
However, individual purchasing power increased with the strong economic growth in the past

Essay about The Canadian Exchange Rate
The Canadian Exchange Rate
The Canadian Dollar has undergone a significant depreciation over the past 10 years. The drop in
relative value of our currency has caused a great deal of consternation not only among economists
but also in the media and consequently the general public has well. Ordinary citizens experience
first hand the effects of such depreciation every time they go to our most frequented vacation spot,
the United States. While economic variables are not usually the subject of casual debate, the
exchange rate trend has even permeated our most beloved conversation topic, professional hockey.
Despite the popularity of the subject, consensus and clarity are rarities. What has happened to the

The value of our currency is most reflected in the price of the US dollar. This paper will therefore
use the price of a US dollar in terms of Canadian dollars as the value of the Canadian dollar.
In the previous section I assumed that the currency is flexible, that is to say that the price is based
on foreign exchange market activity. It is however possible to fix the price of a currency at a
particular level. In order to accomplish this, the central bank must be willing to buy or sell the
perceived excesses of the market; i.e. the bank must buy or sell enough Canadian dollars so that
the price remains stable. If such a practice becomes unsustainable the central must change the
fixed price or move the peg. Such a system, known as the Breton Woods system was predominant
in post world war II industrialized economies. However by the Nineteen sixties Canada, Canada
like many other nations, moved to a flexible exchange rate system. It is important not to assume
that because the currency is not officially fixed at some level, that the central bank does not play
a role in determining its price. The central bank still intervenes in the market but not to hold the
price at a certain level, but rather to prevent to price from fluctuating rapidly up or down. This type
of exchange rate regime is known as a dirty float.
Over this past decade, the value of a Canadian dollar has dropped nearly 25%. In 1990, a US dollar

Citizens Carry Concealed Weapons Essay
Citizens Carry Concealed Weapons
In our society carrying concealed weapons seem to be a major issue. Authorities should allow
anyone to carrying weapons after they pass a background check and complete training classes.
In his essay Letting Teachers Pack Guns will make America s School Safer Lott, argues that
citizens have the right to protect themselves. I agree with him because accepting this law people
can defend themselves from criminals before police arrive. Also legalizing hidden weapons will
help to decrease violence in the streets and citizens can stop any dangerous incident from

victims. I know a man that was killed when the robber was trying to take his car and it was just at
3:00p.m. If this victim were carrying a gun he would probably defend himself. I strongly support
carrying concealed weapons will help to drop violence in our streets. Citizens who have the permit
to carrying concealed weapons will help to stop any incident from escalating. For example, I
remember one incident last year when I was working in a supermarket, where someone enter and
tried to assault us at 8:00p.m. There were 20 people including three children in the supermarket
when suddenly this man with a gun was arguing about getting money. He shot my boss and he
almost harmed other person when finally someone killed him. This person saved many people
including myself. This person has the permit to carry guns. I am very grateful to him. He stopped
that criminal from harming more people that night. According to Lott, for multiple victim shootings
the biggest factor determining the amount of harm in the length of time between when an attack
starts and when someone with a gun can stop the attack, the longer the delay, the more are harmed .

Lives for Native Americans on reservations have never quite been easy. There are many struggles

Introduction Of Sudden Cardiac Death
Introduction
Sudden cardiac death (SCD) is the leading cause of death in exercising young athletes. 1 Current
estimates of the incidence of SCD in athletes range from almost one in a million to 1:23,000
athletes per year, while some subpopulations of athletes are reported at even higher risk with an
incidence of 1 in 3,000. 2 Such deaths often receive more attention because of the youth of the
victims and the perception that physically trained athletes are healthy. 3 SCD is often a result of
structural cardiac abnormalities that can be detected through the use of pre participation physicals.
1 Pre participation cardiovascular screening is the systematic practice of medically evaluating
large, general populations of athletes before participation to eliminate risk of SCD. 3 The National
Athletic Trainers Association (NATA) requires BOC (Board of Certification) certified athletic
trainers to be educated, trained, and evaluated in six major practice domains. 4 Prevention and
clinical evaluation are two of the six domains. The American Heart Association suggests that pre
screening athletes can improve the detection of cardiac abnormalities. 5 Athletic Trainers are
increasingly required to be the health care professionals administering pre participation physicals.
Athletic trainers need to have clinical competence such as knowledge and skill, and confidence in
performing cardiac auscultations to effectively detect cardiac abnormalities in athletes. The purpose

Christian s manipulation of Anastasia is especially notable, as he eventually brings Anastasia along
on BDSM practices that she never had a passion for. All he had to do was simply justify his

generosity. On the surface, Christian does all things that a heterosexual woman may want. He
makes time to meet Anastasia, he buys her luxurious presents that she could have never afforded
on her own, takes her on adventures such as glider riding, respects her input on sexual matters,
and lets her into his personal boundaries by sharing intimate stories about his sorrowful early life.
Such behavior, however, only functions to disguise Christian s sexual violence and maniacal
attachment to Anastasia, and portray him as a charismatic romantic. Fifty Shades of Grey, once it

hears that he has left, she immediately goes looking for him and finds him at a friends house,
near death. Henchard passes and his daughter takes his will, only to read that Elizabeth Jane
Farfrae be not told of my death, or made to grieve. (242) Hardy s use of diction here is important
because Henchard says Elizabeth Jane Farfrae which implies that he has learned to put his past
rivalry with Farfrae aside and accept their love. He also feels that he has caused enough pain in
her life that she does not deserve any more. He s somewhat guilty for all the things he has put
her through. The will continues to say that no man remembers me. and Hardy s use of tone
signifies that Henchard s not doing this for pity, he s true in his words (242). This is a huge
change in Henchard s character because, previously, all he wanted was to be accepted and
thought highly of by everyone, and now he asks that no one remembers him. After reading her
father s will, Elizabeth Jane comes to the realization that he has truly had a change of heart and
that the man who wrote them [the words on the will] meant what he said. (243). Elizabeth Jane s
tone in this sentence suggest that she forgives him for all the pain he has caused her, and she s
willing to move forward. Through Henchard s acceptance of her marriage, he s truly a different
person, because before, he would have only thought of how the situation applied to him but now he
s finally thinking of other people. Henchard s cognizance allowed him to realize that his pride was

The Birth Control And Contraceptive Pills
Birth control up to this global has been a topic of contention. Abortion is still illegal in many
countries, and the issue is still up for debate. Birth control and contraceptive pills, however, are
common aspects of family planning. These have been helpful for not only families but also national
governments in their bid to control population growth. To achieve this, however, down history,
there have been numerous efforts by quite remarkable individuals who dedicated their lives to fight
for women rights and birth control. Among such personalities is Margaret Sangerwho is widely
regarded as the mother of contraceptives and birth control (Watson). It is through the efforts of this
fearless woman in collaboration with other like minded individuals that contraceptive pills came to
be and their subsequent legalization. As evidenced by her numerous campaigns based on feminism
and women rights, she fought a hard battle in the process of legalizing birth control. This study

her efforts.

whether different personalities can or cannot be observed with a group of 1006 Inuit children from
Northern Canada who spoke the Inuktitut language between the ages of 9 to 12 year old who were
recruited for the study. The International Personality Item Pool (IPIP) measure scale was used and
the five item measure scales selected were: (Extraversion, Neuroticism, Openness, Agreeableness
Conscientiousness) , (Goldberg, 1999). The study produced results that Conscientiousness scored
the highest amongst the Inuitchildren more than expected. This could have been due to the
nurturing and parenting styles of the Inuit community. There is a need for further studies to be
conducted with the parents, caregivers, and educators of the Inuit children to confirm whether their
personality findings was correct. Extended research may have findings of significant differences
depending on the researchers, questionnaires and the interpretation of the data.

Topshop describes it as a maximalism of the 80s...with an understated cool thanks to minimal
cuts and deconstructed detail . It is described as very colourful with vivid crushed velvet and
magenta coloured suede . There is a lot of focus on the proportions to emphasise certain detail,

Crisis Analysis of Kodak
Executive Summary
Eastman Kodak CO. which headquartered in Rochester New York, USA, was founded in 1892 by
George Eastman. The company holds a vital role in the innovation and development of the motion
picture industries as well as the film photographic industry. Kodak organized itself in 3 key
segments: the Graphic Communication Group (GCG); the Film, Photofinishing, Entertainment
Group (FPEG) and the Consumer Digital Imaging Group (CGD). )
This report relays to Kodak s managers the importance of one s company strength and weakness

In short, Kodak was beaten by digital revolution.
The trouble began 20 years ago, with the decline of film photography. In the 1990s, Kodak poured
billions into developing technology for taking pictures using mobile phones and other digital
devices. Kodak s engineer Steve Sasson invented digital camera. Steve put together a toaster sized
contraption that could save images using electronic circuits. The images were transferred onto a
tape cassette and were viewable by attaching the camera to a TV screen, a process that took 23
seconds. It was an astonishing achievement in 1975, long before the digital age.
Kodak s bosses were amazed by the invention of this technology but they did not fully see its
potential. Instead, Kodak s leaders concluded that going digital meant killing film, smashing the
company s golden egg to make way for the new. Mr Sasson saw in hindsight that he had not
exactly won them over when he unveiled his newly invented toy. Don Strickland, a former vice
president left the company in 1993 because he could not persuade Kodak s bosses to manufacture
and market a digital camera. He felt that it was absurd when they have developed the world s first
consumer digital camera but was not approved to launch or sell it because of fearing the negative
effects that will bring to the film market.

Bible Day Research Paper
Oh! What A Day!
The day that Jesus invited Peter, Andrew, James and John to follow Him was perhaps their
greatest day. Now, those men had known Jesus before that day, but not as the Messiah. Andrew
had been a disciple of John the Baptist (John 1) and had heard John announce that the Messiah was
already in the midst of Israel. Two days later, John pointed out Jesusas the Lamb of God. (John
1:36) Andrew and another disciple [probably John the apostle] left John the Baptist and spent the
day with Jesus. When Andrew learned that Jesus of Nazareth was the Messiah, he found his
brother, Peter, and brought him to the Lord. (John1:37 41) Andrew was not one of the more

Negative Effects Of Mass Media
The Negative Effects of Mass Media Mass media surrounds the lives of our global society.
Dating back to centuries, the media is prominent through the modes of television, internet, and
paper press. Media is the main means of mass communication in the twenty first century, and is
the central source of information for the general public. A new form of media, social media, has
gained popularity in recent years. The First social media platform was born in 1997 with the
launch of the first social media site, Six Degrees, a site meant to connect people worldwide. By
the year 2000, nearly one hundred million people gained access to the internet, which resulted in
more people becoming active on social media sites. Six Degrees worked as a foundation for other
social media like: myspace, facebook, twitter, instagram, and snapchat. Mass medianegatively
impacts students, politics, and incites racial tensions in society today. Media today is faulty and
brainwashes students. A study found that, If the children are the future, the future might be very ill
informed (Domonoske). Domonoske claims that the news feeds untrue and biased information to
students; these students of today s society will grow up to be the future. It is imperative that
students receive true and reputable information from the media. If they are not now, well informed,
then a society filled with uneducated individuals will reside. Malinformation generates arguments
that can become more serious and turn into a much bigger problem. To avoid this, highly
intellectual people must attempt to find a way for students to be well informed. Researches have
taken the time to study the influence media has on students. In a recent study, Stanford researchers
that evaluated students ability to assess information sources and described the results as dismaying,
bleak and [a] threat to democracy (Domonoske). The study proved that students do not know how
to determine fake from real information. If there is no way for students to receive true and unbiased
information from news sources then they should develop the skills to assess any material presented
to them. Today, they do not possess the ability to single out untrue and opinionated statements.

The Importance Of Personal Liberty
Personal liberty means a bundle of rights, essential for the existence of human life. In Maneka
Gandhi v. Union of India, the Supreme Court pointed out that the expression personal liberty does
not mean only liberty of the persons but also liberty or rights attached to the person (Jus personam).
A division bench of the DelhiHigh Court observed in AV Chardel v. Delhi University that the
expression life and personal liberty includes a variety of rights, which though not enumerated in
Part III of the Constitution, can be included in various aspects of liberty provided they are
necessary for the full development of human personality. Further in Francis Coralie v. Union
Territory of Delhi, Justices PN Bhagwati, Fazal Ali, Murtaza, while stressing the quality of life and
its enjoyment within the purview of Article 21 have rightly said: the right to life enshrined in
Article 21 cannot be restricted to mere animal existence. It means something much more than just
physical survival. The right to life includes the right to live with human dignity and all that goes
along with it.
Along these lines the articulation individual freedom isn t restricted to the assurance of appendage
and workforce however incorporates everything basic for the happiness regarding existence with all
human respect.

The Education System Of Pakistan
The education system in Pakistan focuses mainly on primary education however you find that a
large number of children ages 5 9 are not attending schools and it would appear that primary
system needs to enlarge if universal primary enrolment is to be achieved (Lynd, 2007). In Pakistan,
there were 14 million girls studying in basic educationin 2005, compared to 18.3 million boys. In
other words, there were over 4 million more boys than girls in basic education. This is still an
issue in Pakistan where there are more number of boys in education than girls. The disparity in
favour of boys was prevalent at all levels of basic education, with the exception of the higher
secondary level where the number of girls was very close to equal to the number of boys, which
indicates that Pakistan displays a disparity in favour of girls at this stage of education. This implies
that many more boys than girls discontinued their education after secondary schoolwith the result
that their numbers matched those of the girls in the final level.
Those that can afford to pay to go school will be able to attend better and improved education but
those in rural areas are at disadvantage as they cannot afford to let their children go to school.
Governments allow primary education to be free for all as they believe every child should be
educated however the costs for uniform, stationary, lunch and funds makes it difficult for poorer
families to actually let their children go to school. Basic

Satire On Homelessness
omelessness does not discriminate; it can affect people from all walks of life no matter sex, race, or
religion. Last year alone, more than 3.5 million people experienced homelessness. Thirty five %
affecting families with children and mental illness contribute to the lowest at twenty% (Students
against Hunger). There are many different homeless population in between, such as military
veterans, children under the age of 18, and those that have experienced domestic violence just to
name a few. Homelessnessis a social problem because it depletes federal funding, increases taxes,
and can lead to criminal activity. The reaction to homelessness regarding the homeless is a social
problem in itself. It seems that Americans view homelessness as a threat to society, an
embarrassment, and sometimes one may even try to act as though the problem does not even exist.
They turn their heads in shame, disgust, pity, distaste and fear. When thinking about the
Conservative views on homelessness in my community, I immediately think about the old Symbolic
Interaction Theory, where it is believes that homelessness is a personal deficiency. According to
our text, society s individualistic culture persuades them that homelessness is a direct result of the
victims doing by lack of motivation and intelligence, as well as being responsible for their own
social standing that puts individuals in the situation of being homeless in the first place (pg.48)

Marie Moreau And Alain Delon Star Persona
Both Jeanne Moreau and Alain Delon star persona s are notable for being embodiments of two
distinctly different approaches to France s burgeoning modernity in a post war context. Though
each star s representation of a new form of French modernity deviate due to their different
gendered experiences. Their images of modernity challenged traditional codes and conventions of
France s past and represented different and new ideas of the French individual. These challenges
were particularly gendered, through their perpetuation of new ideals and images of genderin French
society. In the case of Jeanne Moreau, her star image came to represent a new image of the French

She lived a new form of bourgeois lifestyle that was affluent, cultivated but more anti conformist
and less cynical, despite remaining very consumeristic. Her focus on leisure as well as individual
freedom, represented another key aspect of French modernity in its mirroring of capitalist and
Western ideology. This behaviour could be seen in her private life and filmroles, as she smoked,
drunk and strolled the streets of urban environments, while going to street bars, cafes, casinos.
Just like like the modern female Moreau showed a boredom with traditional bourgeois life and
her role as an urban woman, was a departure of typical conceptions of French femininity, that kept
the woman in the domesticated sphere. This urban femininity can be seen in many of her film
roles, such as the 1957 Louis Malle directed film Ascenseur Pour l Г‰chafaud (Elevators to the
Gallows). The film captures her freedom to wander and traverse the environment through its use
of tracking shots that trace her movement and emphasise her belonging and control over the
space. Moreau s modernity must also be considered through her significant role as an actor of the
New Wave. In many ways Jeanne Moreau became a personification of the New Wave style in her
star persona, and this shaped her image of femininity. As a New Wave star, Moreau rejected, the
overly constructed image of the French female, that dominated the persona of previous stars. Unlike

Access to Primary Care for Homeless People in the USA
History of the Topic
Homelessness is a significant health challenge to care system in the United States. Maness and
Khan state that over 610,000 people did not have a shelter in 2013 on any given night (Maness
Khan, 2014). Also, a study conducted by Health Quality Ontario (2016) reviewed homelessness
interventions between 1995 and 2015. The study indicates that the problem has been in existence
for quite some years. According to Maness and Khan (2014), an increase in the shortage of
affordable housing has been the primary trends responsible for homelessness in over thirty years.
Also, statistics indicated that about 14.3 percent of Americans and 10.5 percent of the families

On the other hand, care delivery systems that are tailor made jointly with a regular source of care
are among facilitators of access to care for the homeless (White Newman, 2014). Additionally,
orientation to clinic services was found to improve homeless people s access to care particularly
those without severe mental conditions. Studies on this topic have identified information sources
regarding homelessness as well as agencies that can support efforts aimed at addressing the
problem. Such sources include HCH and CHC programs. The National Health Care for the
Homeless Council (U.S.) (2011) provides the guide with necessary information regarding
homelessness in the U.S. thus becoming a resource for researchers as well as the public for those
concerned with homelessness.
Explored Topics by the Studies
Research work has explored various areas regarding homelessness. One of them is clinical and
medical condition that affects homeless people. As noted by Maness and Khan (2014), homeless
persons suffer the same health problems as the general population. However, unlike the general
population, individuals without shelter have long term exposure to risk factors as well as disease
agents. Such factors include poor sanitary conditions, all forms of abuse, violence, overcrowding,
poor nutrition, weather extremes, and trauma among others. The homeless are therefore exposed to
cardiovascular diseases such as

  • 2. The Lifetime Of A Nuclear Power Plant Essay The lifetime of a nuclear power plant is planned to be 40 years. Recently there are trails to raise this life in new constructions as well as the old ones to 60 years (1 4). During this prolonged lifetime components are exposed to degradation that may affect safe operation of the plant. Such influences affect pressure retaining items of the plant including reactor pressure vessel, reactor piping, bolting and threaded fasteners, steam generator materials and several other items (5). The Reactor Pressure Vessel (RPV) is the most critical component in the LWR pressure boundary. It is the only component in this boundary whose failure is considered to be of such low probability that it is considered essentially incredible. NRC regulations require that RPV steels maintain conservative margin for fracture toughness so that flaws do not threaten the integrity of a RPV during either normal operation and maintenance cycles or under accident transients such as Pressurized Thermal Shock (PTS) (6). The major technical issues regarding aging of RPV include: high fluences, for long times that may lead to high emrittlement creating large uncertainties for emrittlement predictions (7). Increasing nickel content in the RPV steel, all other factors being equal, causes increasing emrittlement (7). The degradation mechanisms that may affect RPV include Irradiation embrittlement, Thermal ageing, Temper embrittlement, Fatigue and Corrosion (8). Concerning nuclear piping the main degradation ... All the cases might be considered to be abuse of power authority for one s own benefit. Extortion Most of them go a step further. They not only blame the politicians but also the public officials for willingly accepting the bribes. They often allege that those having authority in the society ask to be bribed or give an opportunity to bribe. There is no escaping from it, if one refuses to pay, you are bound to fall behind. Lubricant of Society Many believe that paying bribe is required to ensure smoother operation of the society. They think that without an occasional gift, entering into a contract ... This particular sermon writing process focuses on the scripture text John1:1 18, and it will be written and preached in a style that reflects Anna Carter Florence s Testimonial Methodology. Choosing the Text: This particular sermon is being prepared for an evening vesper service on the first Sunday of Advent. This will be the third service of the day for this particular congregation, and it will follow the morning services, which will have been guided by the lectionary text for that day. For this particular service, candle light, and light in general, is a main theme. The congregation will sit within the sanctuary, and the only light will be from the candle light and Advent decoration. Also, this service is to help congregation members prepare their hearts for the Advent season in its entirety. It is a service that marks the beginning of an important journey. I chose the passage John1:1 18 in an attempt to meet the two main needs that this service requires, light imagery and preparation for the coming of Jesus. The light is significant in this text because the author refers to Jesus being the light for the world that sits in darkness, which seemed to me to be a great place to start for this particular service. Additionally, this passage is the gospel text for this upcoming Christmas Daily Text reading. I felt that if this is to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 13. How Did The Capture Of Nazi Germany s Recovery During The... When the Great Depression began, the British Empire suffered for high unemployment and poverty. The empire was still recovering from the Great War and the Depression surprised many government officials. Soon enough, the government took emergency measures to balance the budget and restore confidence in the pound by issuing an emergency budget, which immediately instituted a round of cuts in public spending and wages. Public sector wages and unemployment pay were cut by 10%, and income tax was raised from 4s 6d to 5s in the pound. However, these measures were unsuccessful as unemployment rose and the gold standard dropped. After years of measures to combat against the depression, a slow recovery begun in 1934 because of the withdrawal from the gold standard and the devaluation of the pound. As a result, British exports became more competitive on world markets. During that period of recovery, Nazi Germany was born as Hitler took complete control of the country. • 14. `` The Scourge Of `` And Selling The General `` In Rebecca Meads article The Scourge of Relatability, she describes relatability in literature as to describe a character or a situation in which an ordinary person might see himself reflected. In every book we read or movie we watch, it is most enjoyable when we are able to connect to the characters and the situations that they are in. It is exhilarating for us to think about what would happen if we were in that crazy situation that the character was in, but we just want to experience it from a safe distance and not actually be in that situation, which enables us to sympathize with the characters. This concept of relatability and sympathy is demonstrated throughout Jennifer Egan s Found Objects and Selling the General. The main characters, Sasha and Dolly, at first come off as stereotypical selfish villains, but we are able to relate because they are seeking that emotional connection that every human desires. However, just because we are able to relate to these characters it doesn t mean we are sympathetic toward them, the characters actions and their motives behind their actions are what defines them and ultimately make us feel either sympathetic or unsympathetic towards them. What the pessimistic press isn t telling you is how you can profit from the lowest dollar in 15 years. There is a extraordinary opportunity heading your way if you know how to seize it. But first let me explain how the falling dollar really works. Then you ll see with your own eyes how you can profit. A falling dollar does two things: * Makes foreign imports more expensive * Makes US exports cheaper on the world market The chain reaction not only increases sales of U.S. goods around the world but also creates more jobs for Americans. The end result increases the profits of U.S. multinationals. And that s just the half of it. Because a cheaper dollar makes foreign products more expensive, Americans buy more American goods as well creating even more U.S. jobs. On a purely psychological level, it does even more than that: It creates greater investor and consumer confidence, as more Americans are working, more consumers are ... Life In Milan Kundera s The Unbearable Lightness Of Being In The Unbearable Lightness of Being , Milan Kundera informs readers that without the ability to compare our lives to others, we cannot find meaning in our lives, but remain between life s lightness and heaviness. He does this by illustrating the relationships between four characters: Tomas, Tereza, Sabina, and Franz. The novel begins in the year 1968 with Tomas, who is a brilliant surgeon from Prague and a perpetual bachelor. In a small town cafe, he fortuitously met Tereza, who was his waitress; to Tereza, the moment was magical because one of her favorite compositions by Beethoven was playing on the radio and that he enjoyed literature. Tereza evidently followed Tomas to Prague with her life packed within a suitcase and she intended to offer her life to him. The two started living with each other, but Tomas was incapable of terminating his bachelor lifestyle full of mistresses. He tried to hide his infidelity, but Tereza found a letter from one of his mistresses, Sabina. She wrote to Tomas saying, I want to make love to you in my studio. It will be like a stage surrounded by people. The audience won t be allowed up close, but they won t be able to take their eyes off us. (Pg. 16). Tomas confessed and told her that these sexual acts were separate from his love for her. This information marred Tereza s mind; she starting having horrendous nightmares and began contemplating suicide. He then married her, to relieve her of her distress. Yet he still kept his mistresses. Eventually Sabina and Tereza become close friends, but Tereza s jealousy still remained the same. Sabina, Tereza, and Tomas fled to Switzerland due to the Soviet Union inhabiting Czechoslovakia. Tereza left behind her career as a photographer, became unemployed, and had to sit home alone as Tomas continued his affairs. She then began to believe, when the strong were too weak to hurt the weak, the weak have to be strong enough to leave. (Pg. 75). Then, she returned back to Prague. Tomas was enjoying his liberation for a few days, but he gave up and left for Prague. This evidently meant that the couple gave up their freedom because there was no chance that the couple would be allowed to leave again due to the Communist regime. In ... From a baby s first word to their first complete sentence, there s a lot to debate with their language development. The average child has a vocabulary of up to six thousand words by the time they turn five years old (Brighthubcom, 2016). Language development is one of the most critical roles for an educator in both early childhood and primary settings. It is this ability of language development that is particularly interesting in the nature vs nurture debate. In order for educators to provide effective communication, it is important that they have the knowledge and understanding of the four key concepts of language, such as phonological, syntactic, semantic and pragmatic development and the underlying theoretical perspectives that explain the processes of language acquisition and development. Nature or, in other words, heredity refers to traits that are inherited or genetic. Linguist Noam Chomsky is a strong advocate of this perspective. He has spent a lot of time on evolving a theory of grammar that is called universal grammar. Chomsky believed that language is innate, or in other words we are born with a capacity for language. Chomsky suspected there is an optimal learning age, between the ages of 3 to 10 where a child is the most likely to learn a language in its entirety and grasp fluency. The child does not need a prompt to begin language acquisition, it happens on its own. If a child is around ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In the previous section I assumed that the currency is flexible, that is to say that the price is based on foreign exchange market activity. It is however possible to fix the price of a currency at a particular level. In order to accomplish this, the central bank must be willing to buy or sell the perceived excesses of the market; i.e. the bank must buy or sell enough Canadian dollars so that the price remains stable. If such a practice becomes unsustainable the central must change the fixed price or move the peg. Such a system, known as the Breton Woods system was predominant in post world war II industrialized economies. However by the Nineteen sixties Canada, Canada like many other nations, moved to a flexible exchange rate system. It is important not to assume that because the currency is not officially fixed at some level, that the central bank does not play a role in determining its price. The central bank still intervenes in the market but not to hold the price at a certain level, but rather to prevent to price from fluctuating rapidly up or down. • 33. Introduction Of Sudden Cardiac Death Introduction Sudden cardiac death (SCD) is the leading cause of death in exercising young athletes. 1 Current estimates of the incidence of SCD in athletes range from almost one in a million to 1:23,000 athletes per year, while some subpopulations of athletes are reported at even higher risk with an incidence of 1 in 3,000. 2 Such deaths often receive more attention because of the youth of the victims and the perception that physically trained athletes are healthy. 3 SCD is often a result of structural cardiac abnormalities that can be detected through the use of pre participation physicals. 1 Pre participation cardiovascular screening is the systematic practice of medically evaluating large, general populations of athletes before participation to eliminate risk of SCD. 3 The National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA) requires BOC (Board of Certification) certified athletic trainers to be educated, trained, and evaluated in six major practice domains. 4 Prevention and clinical evaluation are two of the six domains. The American Heart Association suggests that pre screening athletes can improve the detection of cardiac abnormalities. 5 Athletic Trainers are increasingly required to be the health care professionals administering pre participation physicals. Athletic trainers need to have clinical competence such as knowledge and skill, and confidence in performing cardiac auscultations to effectively detect cardiac abnormalities in athletes. He takes consent in a sexual relationship extremely seriously, so much so that he creates a whole legal contract for a woman to sign before engaging in sexual activities. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Christian s manipulation of Anastasia is especially notable, as he eventually brings Anastasia along on BDSM practices that she never had a passion for. All he had to do was simply justify his violent tendencies to Anastasia and the audience, which he successfully fulfills through the veil of generosity. On the surface, Christian does all things that a heterosexual woman may want. He makes time to meet Anastasia, he buys her luxurious presents that she could have never afforded on her own, takes her on adventures such as glider riding, respects her input on sexual matters, and lets her into his personal boundaries by sharing intimate stories about his sorrowful early life. Such behavior, however, only functions to disguise Christian s sexual violence and maniacal attachment to Anastasia, and portray him as a charismatic romantic. Fifty Shades of Grey, once it was released, became the ultimate sexual fantasy for heterosexual women around the world, implementing an idea that male authoritativeness is okay as long as he covers himself as a generous (and hot) knight in shining armor. Michael Henchard Critical Lens Essay The quote Proud people breed sad sorrows for themselves said by Emily BrontГ« describes Michael Henchard in the book The Mayor of Casterbridge written by Thomas Hardy. Throughout Henchard s life he makes mistake after mistake, only to blame others for his wrongdoing; but ends up only causing more harm to himself. In the beginning of this story, he starts out as a young, immature husband who s abusive and always drunk, but after one detrimental night, his life s turned upside down. He moves to, and later becomes mayor of, the small town of Casterbridge where he spends years trying to forget about his past, until his past shows up disguised as his wife and daughter he sold to a stranger 20 years prior. Henchard passes and his daughter takes his will, only to read that Elizabeth Jane Farfrae be not told of my death, or made to grieve. (242) Hardy s use of diction here is important because Henchard says Elizabeth Jane Farfrae which implies that he has learned to put his past rivalry with Farfrae aside and accept their love. He also feels that he has caused enough pain in her life that she does not deserve any more. He s somewhat guilty for all the things he has put her through. The will continues to say that no man remembers me. and Hardy s use of tone signifies that Henchard s not doing this for pity, he s true in his words (242). This is a huge change in Henchard s character because, previously, all he wanted was to be accepted and thought highly of by everyone, and now he asks that no one remembers him. After reading her father s will, Elizabeth Jane comes to the realization that he has truly had a change of heart and that the man who wrote them [the words on the will] meant what he said. (243). Elizabeth Jane s tone in this sentence suggest that she forgives him for all the pain he has caused her, and she s willing to move forward. Through Henchard s acceptance of her marriage, he s truly a different person, because before, he would have only thought of how the situation applied to him but now he s finally thinking of other people. Steve put together a toaster sized contraption that could save images using electronic circuits. The Education System Of Pakistan The education system in Pakistan focuses mainly on primary education however you find that a large number of children ages 5 9 are not attending schools and it would appear that primary system needs to enlarge if universal primary enrolment is to be achieved (Lynd, 2007). In Pakistan, there were 14 million girls studying in basic educationin 2005, compared to 18.3 million boys. In other words, there were over 4 million more boys than girls in basic education. This is still an issue in Pakistan where there are more number of boys in education than girls. The disparity in favour of boys was prevalent at all levels of basic education, with the exception of the higher secondary level where the number of girls was very close to equal to the number of boys, which indicates that Pakistan displays a disparity in favour of girls at this stage of education. This implies that many more boys than girls discontinued their education after secondary schoolwith the result that their numbers matched those of the girls in the final level. Those that can afford to pay to go school will be able to attend better and improved education but those in rural areas are at disadvantage as they cannot afford to let their children go to school. • 54. Marie Moreau And Alain Delon Star Persona Both Jeanne Moreau and Alain Delon star persona s are notable for being embodiments of two distinctly different approaches to France s burgeoning modernity in a post war context. Though each star s representation of a new form of French modernity deviate due to their different gendered experiences. Their images of modernity challenged traditional codes and conventions of France s past and represented different and new ideas of the French individual. These challenges were particularly gendered, through their perpetuation of new ideals and images of genderin French society. In the case of Jeanne Moreau, her star image came to represent a new image of the French woman. Moreau s image represented an idea of femininity that was a radical... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... She lived a new form of bourgeois lifestyle that was affluent, cultivated but more anti conformist and less cynical, despite remaining very consumeristic. Her focus on leisure as well as individual freedom, represented another key aspect of French modernity in its mirroring of capitalist and Western ideology. This behaviour could be seen in her private life and filmroles, as she smoked, drunk and strolled the streets of urban environments, while going to street bars, cafes, casinos. Just like like the modern female Moreau showed a boredom with traditional bourgeois life and her role as an urban woman, was a departure of typical conceptions of French femininity, that kept the woman in the domesticated sphere. This urban femininity can be seen in many of her film roles, such as the 1957 Louis Malle directed film Ascenseur Pour l Г‰chafaud (Elevators to the Gallows). The film captures her freedom to wander and traverse the environment through its use of tracking shots that trace her movement and emphasise her belonging and control over the space. Moreau s modernity must also be considered through her significant role as an actor of the New Wave. In many ways Jeanne Moreau became a personification of the New Wave style in her star persona, and this shaped her image of femininity. As a New Wave star, Moreau rejected, the overly constructed image of the French female, that dominated the persona of previous stars. Unlike previous ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 55. Homelessness Access to Primary Care for Homeless People in the USA History of the Topic Homelessness is a significant health challenge to care system in the United States. Maness and Khan state that over 610,000 people did not have a shelter in 2013 on any given night (Maness Khan, 2014). Also, a study conducted by Health Quality Ontario (2016) reviewed homelessness interventions between 1995 and 2015. The study indicates that the problem has been in existence for quite some years. According to Maness and Khan (2014), an increase in the shortage of affordable housing has been the primary trends responsible for homelessness in over thirty years. Also, statistics indicated that about 14.3 percent of Americans and 10.5 percent of the families lived on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... On the other hand, care delivery systems that are tailor made jointly with a regular source of care are among facilitators of access to care for the homeless (White Newman, 2014). Additionally, orientation to clinic services was found to improve homeless people s access to care particularly those without severe mental conditions. Studies on this topic have identified information sources regarding homelessness as well as agencies that can support efforts aimed at addressing the problem. Such sources include HCH and CHC programs. The National Health Care for the Homeless Council (U.S.) (2011) provides the guide with necessary information regarding homelessness in the U.S. thus becoming a resource for researchers as well as the public for those concerned with homelessness. Explored Topics by the Studies Research work has explored various areas regarding homelessness. One of them is clinical and medical condition that affects homeless people. As noted by Maness and Khan (2014), homeless persons suffer the same health problems as the general population. However, unlike the general population, individuals without shelter have long term exposure to risk factors as well as disease agents. Such factors include poor sanitary conditions, all forms of abuse, violence, overcrowding, poor nutrition, weather extremes, and trauma among others. The homeless are therefore exposed to cardiovascular diseases such as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Current student participation is rising with established clubs and new clubs. The current club structure is connecting like minded students who want to establish a space where they can help and educate others about what they deem important. These clubs have encouraged students to devote time to global and social issues that mirror localized activism. Erica Qiao currently helps on and off campus in her work in volunteering with organizations and clinics focusing on their work with underserved communities and rural areas. Therefore, last year, I connected with other soon graduating pre health students to start Pre Health Society. In the past year, we have mentored four students to apply and also be accepted to a program that supports underrepresented minorities in medicine and dentistry, hosted workshops to expose to students their intended fields (suturing workshops, etc.) and many others. With the many social issues that are being addressed, the efforts to promote change lead to student participation. Their active participation leads to others getting educated. In our current political situation, harassment of marginalized communities are increasing. Clubs like ours help promote safe spaces and hopefully that comes with tolerance, say Jeffrey Leung, officer of the Gender Equity Club. I was having a hard time articulating how I distribute my time because there are a lot of causes to fight for, and a lot of opportunities to do so. For me I try my best to distribute my resources across various organizations that I support on personal levels. Sometimes that takes the form of donating my time, other times donating money or food items it all depends on the cause. I march in rallies, participate in student organizations on campus. Those are ways I keep myself local and grounded, said Ada Maldonado, president of Gender Equity Club. UW Bothell has ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
