In conclusion, I have chosen the clothing brands Topshop, Topman and Zara for my mood board because I believe that they are the types of
brands that best reflect the genre of my magazine, which is eclectic, meaning new and a wide range of things. I selected the three fonts that
I did because firstly they are all different which conveys how a wide range of fonts could be included for my magazine. The ‘River Drive’
font is quite messy and I have found it in the ‘Brush’ section on Dafont but I think it could potentially look good as a magazine masthead
font. The ‘Constantine’ font is very formal and it is quite spread out, which is often seen on some magazines instead of being too close
together. The ‘Mermaid’ font is also quite formal like the one above but it is a bit simpler and it is bolder, which again, is often seen on
many magazine front covers. The ‘Constantine’ and ‘Mermaid’ font were both found in the ‘Serif’ section on Dafont. I included potential
colour schemes for the house style of my magazine. I decided to narrow the colours down to light blue, black, gold, white, and red. This is
because I think these are typically found as colour schemes on other magazines, and Q magazine’s house colours are red, white, and black,
which I think looks effective and it is my magazine of inspiration. I am potentially considering using gold, black, and white as my house
colours because I think they are quite simple but they would look effective. The two films for my mood board are ‘The Perks of Being a
Wallflower’ and ‘Teenage Dirtbag’. I selected ‘The Perks of Being a Wallflower’ because it is a film that would be more suitable for a
younger audience, like my magazine and I find the film to be suitable for a lot of people as it could link to multiple genres. The film
‘Teenage Dirtbag’ was included on my mood board because again, it is suitable for a younger audience, like my magazine. At the bottom of
my mood board, I included 7 artists. In my opinion, they are all popular in the current music industry but I find that they all produce
different types of music. The first artist on the far left is Shawn Mendes, he is an acoustic artist who is very new to come around on the
charts and he is only 17, therefore, I think he would appeal especially to people around that age and some people who are a bit older which
is therefore suitable for my magazine. Next to him is Ariana Grande who is very popular for younger people in the music industry and she
has been around for a little while. She would be suitable because she has a mixture of music in which she produces, she has some pop
songs which are energetic and catchy, and she also has some moving and emotional songs in which people can relate to more so. After her
is The Weeknd, who has been around for a long time, but has more recently become very popular with some of his new songs. His more
recent music is quite catchy and a lot of his music seems to be explicit so it would not really appeal to anyone under 16, which would be
good for my magazine. Sam Smith is the next artist who again, is now very popular currently in the music industry. His music is quite slow
and people tend to focus on the lyrics more, and I think this would relate to my magazine to give it more diversity in the featured artists.
To the right of him is Taylor Swift who is now one of the most popular artists worldwide in the music industry. She has been around for
many years and her music now, has begun to be more catchy and energetic with the odd slow and moving song. Her music used to be
country which would again, give my magazine more diversity if she were to be included. Ed Sheeran is after her. He again, is one of the
most popular artists worldwide at the moment and his music is acoustic, like Shawn Mendes’. I think that he would be good to potentially
include as inspiration for my magazine because he is very well known and influential on many people of today. The final artist is George
Ezra who is relatively new and may not be as popular as some of the other artists I included but his music is very diverse and I think he
would be a good example of inspiration for my magazine.
