This project aimed to educate learners about the effects of drug abuse. Students researched the impacts of drug use through interviews and visiting rehabilitation centers. They created a drama on the topic and published newspaper articles. The drama was filmed and distributed on DVDs to other schools. Students presented their findings on the radio and published a video on YouTube to share their message worldwide. The project helped students develop technology skills and increased interest in learning. It influenced teachers to incorporate more technology and convinced school leadership of technology's benefits.

Between October and December 2009, 52 participants involved in various roles related to Health OER from five universities (one in the USA, two in Ghana and two in South Africa) were interviewed. The aim of the study was to investigate sustainability of OER based on possible cross-institutional collaboration as well as social and technical challenges in creating and sharing OER materials. The analytical framework was adopted from prior research in related areas: distributed scientific collaboration; cyber infrastructure; open source development; and Wikipedia. We adopted a qualitative approach for data collection, which included semi structured interviews and document analysis. The findings were analyzed and reported with many direct quotations included. The outcome of the data analysis is a model for productive, scalable, and sustainable OER based on cross-institutional collaboration. The report concludes with practical recommendations on how to the model can be operationalized.

In older children specimens for TB microscopy and culture are better obtained by sputum induction, or voluntary coughing.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

The teacher asked pupils to tell the other people about what they learned about drugs as a way of
assessment and they went to the radio station to present on drug abuse, they wrote articles to the news
paper “Leselinyana la Lesotho” They also planed a drama which answers so many questions about
problems. We have(Suicide, HIV/AIDS Rape, Dropout, teenage pregnancy and Crime?) The shorts of
the drama is now on the YouTube, and the whole drama is on the DVD which has been distributed to
many schools around Lesotho and Morija Museum Outreach program.

The project as a change agent
Learners: They are very eager to learn, curious , want to know even
more than the teacher.
This learners are now so in to using technology to learn. Some now even

The Management:
The Management of the school has realized the passion , potential,

funds for the school. This theater club is now working on the other drama
about Human rights from social studies subject. This will be sold to other
schools as a DVD and there will be also be live shows to raise funds for

To include the Standards targeted through your learning project, open the Mapping the Standards document and then add your own standards at the bottom of the document. Links are included to help you search for local curriculum and technology standards.
On this slide, embed the student handouts and the resources created for this project. Some examples are a student project overview, Internet and other resources, directions for art projects, or instructions to students for peer editing of projects. To embed the resources, follow these steps:
Have the resource document available.
From the Insert menu choose Object.
Select Create from File… and click Browse….
Find the file you want to include and click OK.
Select Display as icon and click Change Icon… and add a suitable caption.
Click OK to add the caption and click OK to embed the file.
Position the document icon at the bottom of the slide. You can go to View, Grid and Guides, and click Display Grid on Screen for a grid on which to line up your icons.
