 • Which medium is best suited to tell the story?
 • Who is most likely to run with the idea?
 • If you have control over when the story happens,
   choose a traditionally slow day of the week.

• Be judicious in your use of press releases.
• Send your release about five days in
  advance.

• Know what to do when it’s NOT a great
  story.
 •   Facebook
 •   Twitter
 •   YouTube
 •   Blog

 •   Use human language
 •   Again, keep your target in mind
 •   Get to the point
 •   Provide quotes
 •   Include information on who’s available for an interview
 •   For events, make sure those details stand out
