 Business is linked to the society. It is their duty to meet
   social expectations. Ex : quality, service, etc.
 ‘A healthy business cannot exist in a sick society’.
 Managers need to strike a fine balance between social
expectations and enterprise objectives.
 Business should deliver want satisfying goods and
services.
 Performance is must.
 Goals are collaboratively set for the organisation.


 Goals must be realistic.


 Gives an option for the sub ordinates to make
  creative decisions.
Criticism of the functional focus of managers.


 Create independent product divisions within a large
undertaking.

 Accountable for results and allow them to grow
steadily.
Layers in the Organisation to be reduced.
The Organization structure should be dynamic in
nature.

What is the problem?
Which problem to solve?
What is the real cause of the problem?

Evaluate the risks of each course of action against
expected gains.
Put emphasis on economy of effort.
Give weight age to timing.
Limitations of physical, financial and human resources.
Successful managers do not wait for the future
  instead they make the future.




Managers must be prepared for all the future
  challenges by updating their skill and knowledge.

  • 3. Nature of management. Manager’s Job. Management by Objective (MBO). Decentralisation. Structure. Decision Making. Executive Development.
  • 4. oManagement is a dynamic, life giving element in an Organisation. oManagement is a distinct, discipline and a social function. oManagers should be creative and innovative in order to produce results.
  • 5.  Must set meaningful goals for the entire organisation.  Business is linked to the society. It is their duty to meet social expectations. Ex : quality, service, etc.  ‘A healthy business cannot exist in a sick society’.  Managers need to strike a fine balance between social expectations and enterprise objectives.  Business should deliver want satisfying goods and services.  Performance is must.
  • 6.  Goals are collaboratively set for the organisation.  Goals must be realistic.  Gives an option for the sub ordinates to make creative decisions.
  • 7. Criticism of the functional focus of managers.  Create independent product divisions within a large undertaking.  Accountable for results and allow them to grow steadily.

  • 9. He wanted managers to define problems correctly before trying to find solutions. Analyzing problems: What is the problem? Which problem to solve? What is the real cause of the problem? Solutions: Evaluate the risks of each course of action against expected gains. Put emphasis on economy of effort. Give weight age to timing. Limitations of physical, financial and human resources.
  • 10. Successful managers do not wait for the future instead they make the future. Managers must be prepared for all the future challenges by updating their skill and knowledge.
