This document summarizes a presentation about embracing handheld mobile devices for educational purposes. It discusses how cell phones, iPods, and PDAs/smart phones can be used in education. Examples are given of projects where these devices were used for language learning, field trips, podcasting, storing class notes and presentations. The presentation argues that these ubiquitous mobile devices can enhance learning engagement if used creatively. It also notes that today's students are growing up in a digital world and that educational uses of technology need to evolve to remain relevant.
