Introduction

 Have you ever encountered a printed
advertisement that really made the product on the
      page “come to life?”
 It’s hard to do, but it’s the goal of every agency and
      brand in the world.
 What if there were a technology that literally made
the ad “leap off the page,” and at the same time
was able to add more than just entertainment value
3
to an otherwise static experience? 30-Mar-13
Augmented Reality Overview

 Concept of superimposing digital content (online
information and graphics) on top of a view of the
real world as seen through a camera.

 Simply use a smartphone or tablet’s camera and a
mobile app to scan a brand’s AR image – whether
      it’s a magazine cover/page, a bus stop billboard, a
newspaper, or any other point of entry – to gain
access to interactive 2D or 3D visual overlays and
even video demos of new products.
4 30-Mar-13
Why AR is Good for Marketing?

 Empowers brands to connect with mobile consumers
looking for more entertainment, information and
immersion when and where they want it.

 Experiences are designed to merge consumer
expectations with brands’ digital strategy in the real
world – whether at the point of advertising, sale, or use
across products, services, retail, original or brand.
                                                        30-Mar-13
Mobile AR for Marketing

 Enhances the reach of print media and packaging via mobile devices
 Convert viewers to customers integrating m-commerce pages or
        stores to the overall experience
     Extend existing media reach
 Imagine the possibility for a consumer to browse and engage with
your entire product catalog, download your apps, or share sections of
the catalog with friends, or even purchase your products all from a
6 simple ad available in print media. 30-Mar-13

Lowe's 3D Virtual Experience Shopping - Retailer
      Challenge
 For decades, the flyer has served as an advertising mainstay. So how
does a retailer reinvent the flyer experience for a mobile generation,
creating a better way for consumers to engage in their journey from
         research to purchase?.
      Solution
 Lowe's Canada used mobile to deliver a unique virtual product
experience within a traditional flyer using an app powered by the
         Vuforia™ platform.
      Results
 In-store demos of the app and social media generated precisely the
response Lowe's Canada was after: plenty of buzz and positive word-
of-mouth on blogs and other social and traditional media.
