The library faculty at Grand Valley State University helped develop an information literacy assessment rubric for the university's newly revised General Education Program. The librarians used the university's custom Information Literacy Core Competencies to draft the rubric. This process has helped integrate information literacy into the curriculum by having the library experts define the competencies and write the assessment rubric used by the General Education Program. The close collaboration between the librarians and the General Education Committee demonstrates how information literacy has been successfully incorporated into the curriculum.
