such as homework, test, project grades …etc. Your Excel file should contain the proper formulas and logic
statements so that the final letter grade is automatically updated by changing any grade for any student.
Use these percentages in your calculations:
H.W. is 30% of final grade
Midterm is 10% of final grade
Project is 20% of final grade
Final exam is 40% of final grade
You do not need to turn in a hardcopy for this exercise. You should turn in the Excel file using
Moodle.

Hi Laura,
Thank you for your submission this week.
You've got a good start on this. You analyze the theme of race and ethnicity in two pieces. Now, I would go back and revise by adding comparison/contrast of symbol use in each text, of metaphors and/or similes, of characterization, setting, tone, etc.--any of the literary elements that you have not yet discussed fully.
You spend a lot of time summarizing each piece. While it's important to provide a brief summary, you should devote the majority of your essay to analyzing the pieces, not summarizing them.
In terms of organization, I would devote a paragraph to each literary element. In terms of your conclusion, ask yourself what you've learned or what new knowledge has been gained by looking at these two texts, side by side.
In addition, you'll want to add more sources to strengthen your analysis. You should be looking for outside sources that comment on the texts you've chosen, or the authors, or some aspect that you are writing about. Your sources should be used to support/defend/challenge your opinions about these texts. Use your sources as though they are participants in a conversation about these texts. What do they think? What do you think? Where are the differences and the similarities?
Also, be sure to review my comments within the essay itself. As always, I'm here to help, so don't hesitate to email me with questions. Thanks!

Kulen Mineral Water - NOW, EVERY CAMBODIAN CAN DRINK HEALTHY, NATURAL MINERAL...Chormvirak Moulsem
In the context of my studies, I had to do a three months internship in a foreign country. So I was looking for a good internship and a good country. I’m very interested by the wine business and the wine in general. So I wanted to do my internship in this sector to learn more about the marketing tools, strategies and habits of this market. Then, I was very attracted by the Asia, not by a special place but I really wanted to discover this continent.
By my network, I knew that a French businessman has created his own company in Cambodia. A marketing company which offer to communicate for big wine’s producers all around the world. I’ve heard that at this time, the company got one head office in Singapore, one operative unit in China and a representative office in Cambodia. So it sounds very interesting for me and in May 2013, I decided to apply to get an internship in the head office of Singapore.
Unfortunately, the company was not able to offer me an internship of three months in the head office because they don’t use to offer less than 6 months internship and also because they were already full in Singapore. But after one month, the CEO, M. Olivry emails me again to offer me an internship of three months in Cambodia mainly focused on the a mineral water local brand called “Kulara Water”. So, even if it was not what I expected first, after consideration, I accepted the offer. Mainly because all I’ve heard and ridden about Cambodia was very interesting and also because the mineral water is a very interesting product and market to develop in Cambodia.
To summarize, I prepared my first trip Alone, in Asia, during Three months. I think these are the main difficulties I’ve found in my internship. First, I had to change my way of think, understand a new culture and adapt myself to this country. This, I had to do it alone, with no parents here to take care, no friends etc… And of course, it’s not holidays in a five stars hotel during three weeks, no. Three months of living in the Khmer1 lifestyle.

This bachelor thesis is focused on the relationship between intrinsic and extrinsic motivation and
employee performance. The thesis is a literature research and thus a review by the work of others.
In earlier research on this topic conducted by Vroom (1964) was concluded that a positive
correlation between motivation and performance did not exist. However, later research proved
that it is indeed possible to motivate employees intrinsically and extrinsically to perform well. It
appears that when the organisation provides certain job characteristics, employees can be
motivated to perform well in the organisation. And it also appeared that intrinsic factors have
more effect on the relationship than extrinsic factors.

The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

Perceptual Manipulation in Shakespeare's Taming of the Shrew
Teun A. Van Dijk, in his essay "Pragmatics and Poetics," explains the reason for speech
is "to change the internal state of the hearer" (Dijk 30). Ferdinand de Saussure describes in his
essay, "Nature of the Linguistic Sign," how a word is more connected to the minds of the speaker
and the hearer than to anything else. He describes that the "linguistic sign" as a unit formed
equally by the association of a "concept" and a "sound-image." The "sound-image" is what one
would call a spoken word, something that "signifies." Saussure describes it as "the psychological
imprint of the sound, the impression that it makes on our senses" (Saussure 832). He goes on to
describe its materiality: "the sound-image is sensory" (Saussure 832). The term "concept" is
summed-up as being "generally more abstract" (Saussure 833) than the "sound-image." The
"concept," it appears, is what one would call objective perceptions, for example, the table, or an
ox. A "concept" is anything that can be "signified." In The Taming of the Shrew Petruchio
intends to break Katharina by disassociating her from her sense of reality by prying apart the
linguistic unit she has intuitively taken for granted.
The first scene demonstrates Katharina's personality through the interaction she has with
her sister, Bianca, and her father, Baptista. She is shown to have "a devilish spirit" (Shakespeare
2.1, 25). Petruchio, shortly afterwards, meets Baptista and speaks to him about Katharina.
Instead of calling her a shrew, Petruchio compliments her on her "beauty and her wit, / Her
affability and bashful modesty, / Her wonderous qualities and mild behavior" (Shakespeare 2.1,
