This bachelor thesis is focused on the relationship between intrinsic and extrinsic motivation and
employee performance. The thesis is a literature research and thus a review by the work of others.
In earlier research on this topic conducted by Vroom (1964) was concluded that a positive
correlation between motivation and performance did not exist. However, later research proved
that it is indeed possible to motivate employees intrinsically and extrinsically to perform well. It
appears that when the organisation provides certain job characteristics, employees can be
motivated to perform well in the organisation. And it also appeared that intrinsic factors have
more effect on the relationship than extrinsic factors.

Authority is the right to make decisions, to direct the work of others, and to give orders.
Authority refers to the rights inherent in a managerial position to give orders and expect the orders to be obeyed.
Authority was a major tenet of the early management writers, the glue that held the organization together.
It was to be delegated downward to lower-level managers. Each management position has specific inherent rights that incumbents acquire from the position's rank or title.
Authority is related to one's position and ignores personal characteristics. When a position of authority is vacated, the authority remains with the position.

Abstract:
The latest survey by Robert Half International Inc on 150 executives from the largest US firms indicates that they consider leadership skills the most valuable asset in managers. Reality suggests that leadership is both a natural and acquired skill. Actively nurturing leadership skills in promising employees and providing them with opportunities to further their career will benefit all firms. Five practical steps are suggested that will enable firms to help develop leadership skills among their employees.

An assistant controller for a textile manufacturer in the south was asked recently to assume some of the training and development functions for his department. It was a challenging role for two reasons: The firm was in the midst of significant expansion, including opening additional plants and offices in two nearby states, and turnover has been an issue in recent years. Its rapid growth combined with a higher-than-average employee turnover rate elicited concerns that the company wasn't doing enough to actively develop future leaders.
In a recent Robert Half International survey of 150 executives from the nation's largest companies, leadership skills were identified as the most valued asset in managers. Some believe that leaders are born, not made, while others think that leadership is a quantifiable set of skills and ways of thinking that can be taught. Reality lies somewhere in between. While certain people do appear to have innate management capabilities, there are others who possess an identifiable potential that can be nurtured successfully. Actively cultivating leadership skills among promising staff members ensures that employees groomed to lead and manage have an in-depth knowledge of a firm's processes and long-term goals as well as a feel for its corporate culture.
Once leaders are developed, you don't want them to leave. By fostering an environment in which employees are given the means to enhance their management abilities and to continually expand their responsibilities, companies leave room for career growth, a key motivator and retention tool. Let's investigate five practical steps you can take to help develop leadership skills in your department.
1 Provide formal training. No effective leader can function without an in-depth comprehension of how the organization works. Through orientations and training seminars, you can help each employee understand the significance of his or her function in the ...

Kulen Mineral Water - NOW, EVERY CAMBODIAN CAN DRINK HEALTHY, NATURAL MINERAL...Chormvirak Moulsem
In the context of my studies, I had to do a three months internship in a foreign country. So I was looking for a good internship and a good country. I’m very interested by the wine business and the wine in general. So I wanted to do my internship in this sector to learn more about the marketing tools, strategies and habits of this market. Then, I was very attracted by the Asia, not by a special place but I really wanted to discover this continent.
By my network, I knew that a French businessman has created his own company in Cambodia. A marketing company which offer to communicate for big wine’s producers all around the world. I’ve heard that at this time, the company got one head office in Singapore, one operative unit in China and a representative office in Cambodia. So it sounds very interesting for me and in May 2013, I decided to apply to get an internship in the head office of Singapore.
Unfortunately, the company was not able to offer me an internship of three months in the head office because they don’t use to offer less than 6 months internship and also because they were already full in Singapore. But after one month, the CEO, M. Olivry emails me again to offer me an internship of three months in Cambodia mainly focused on the a mineral water local brand called “Kulara Water”. So, even if it was not what I expected first, after consideration, I accepted the offer. Mainly because all I’ve heard and ridden about Cambodia was very interesting and also because the mineral water is a very interesting product and market to develop in Cambodia.
To summarize, I prepared my first trip Alone, in Asia, during Three months. I think these are the main difficulties I’ve found in my internship. First, I had to change my way of think, understand a new culture and adapt myself to this country. This, I had to do it alone, with no parents here to take care, no friends etc… And of course, it’s not holidays in a five stars hotel during three weeks, no. Three months of living in the Khmer1 lifestyle.

employee performance.

The need for education is increasing throughout Cambodia, particularly among minority groups. The illiteracy rate in the village is
still high. Some villagers dropped out of school before entering high school and many children in the village do not have access to
English courses because of distance and financial constraints. In response, we plan to provide English classes to children at three
levels: elementary, intermediate, and advanced. The abandoned 7.5 x 8 meters hall (left of the mosque) will become the classroom
for teaching English. The hall has two rooms that are large enough to accommodate students for afternoon and evening sessions.
The classes will be free of charge for students. We will contact the Peace Corps to assist with providing volunteers to teach English
along with a local recruit. The local recruit will undertake administrative work (application forms, enrollment documents, and other
paperwork). The English instructor will live with villagers during the teaching term.
The present study was undertaken with support from Save the Children/Sweden and EQUIP 1 to assess the degree to which the Cham ethnic minority in Cambodia is able to access educational services from the state school system. The study recounts the enormous progress that Cambodia’s educational system has made in recent years but also the difficulty for expectations to keep pace with what is actually happening in the country. This speaks to increasing pressures on the educational system, under resourcing, and the sensitivities that surround the issue of minority rights and bilingual education. The study also describes the situational context of the minority setting in Cambodia as well as specific problems in the formal education sector as they relate to the stated target group.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.
