MLA Formatting
MLA Format Checklist
• Make the font size 12.
• Make the font "Times New Roman."
• Make the margins 1 inch wide on all sides.
• Double space the lines (2.0 spacing).
• Put your name, teacher's name, class name, and assignment due date in
the upper left corner of page 1.
• Create a header in the upper right corner of your document with your last
name and page number.
• Give your story an original title, place it before your first paragraph,
center align it, and capitalize the main words.
• Indent all of your paragraphs.
• Make sure there is no extra space after paragraphs.
• Make sure every sentence starts with a capital letter.
• Make sure there is a space between each sentence. (Only one space
between sentences).
• Make sure there are double quotation marks around all dialogue (“ ”).
• Make sure you have written all numbers as words (unless numbers are
very large).
