This study aims to investigate how the charge distribution on protein surfaces affects protein-polymer interactions. The researchers will: 1. Express GFP proteins with varying charge distributions through site-directed mutagenesis. 2. Synthesize model polymers using RAFT polymerization and conjugate them to the GFP proteins. 3. Use techniques like turbidity measurements and DLS to analyze how the proteins interact with cationic, anionic, and neutral polymers depending on the proteins' charge distributions. Preliminary results showed the proteins were successfully expressed and conjugated to polymers while maintaining structure. Turbidity data also indicated how charge affects protein aggregation with polyelectrolytes. Overall, this work could help understand how
