I will plan the different elements of my mise-en scene to
reflect the image of my magazine and to make it suitable
for my target audience. These have to be carefully planned
in order my magazine to look as professional as possible.

2. COSTUME
The clothing of my models will reflect the image and genre of my magazine as it
aims to target teenage girls who like pop/R&B music and have an interest in
fashion. Therefore my models will be dressed in girly and fashionable clothing that
my target audience would want to wear. A variety of different clothing items such
as dresses, tops and jeans will be appropriate.
The make-up for my models will look classy and chic as I want my models to look
glamorous without the heavy make-up look. Emphasis will be on the eye-makeup
especially for the model used for the front cover as I want the image to be striking
and stand out from other magazines. Direct address is another important factor
that my images will have in order to attract readers to my magazine.

3. PROPS
Examples of props that I will use in my photoshoot are:
•a bed – model sitting on the bed
•Mobile phone – model pretending to be on their phone
•a bag – model holding her bag
•a hairbrush – model singing into as if it is a microphone
The props will help distinguish my genre of pop/R&B. They will also
personify the particular artist and reflect their personality as readers will
look at the image first before reading the article and will have already drawn
a particular view of them at that point.

4. POSTURE
These are examples of different postures and poses that I will try with my
models in order for my images to reflect the genre of my magazine. The
poses will be look girly and creative as I want my images to be striking and
attractive to the audience who will look at the models in the photo as
inspiration and perhaps as role models. The positioning of my models is
very important as I want my photographs to look as professional as possible
and suitable for my music magazine. The models poses will also be fun and
quirky to create a friendly and relaxed feeling.

5. LIGHTING
The lighting of my locations will be bright and clear as they will be taken
outside in daylight or in a room where they is good lighting. The lighting is
very important as it has an impact on the images and therefore it needs to
be clearly bright for my images to look professional and of good quality. For
example, for the front cover, I must ensure that no shadows form and fall on
the models face as it will ruin the image.
