Minnesota Higher Education in the New Paradigm of Knowledge Production: Findings and Discussion of a Delphi Study (La Universidad en México en el año 2030: Imaginando futuros) - English version
Successful implementation of liberal arts in Muslim majority countries must address the following: shared vision of leberal arts, student engagement, curriculum and program development and broader accountability structures. A ahred vision presupposes that the underlying tensions regarding knowledge aims, identity construction and technology\'s roled in society are resolved at the educational institution level. The absence of resolution will result in the proliferation of scientism and knowledge factories in the name of liberal arts in the Gulf States.

Current narratives in HE are moving beyond a narrow focus on securing employment for students to include them developing a wider and more holistic set of 'attributes'. This brief presentation summarises this trend and explore some of the challenges and future trends that may result.
The paper examines the case of massification in science-based faculties at Gulu University. It is
argued that the boom in university education in Uganda resulted into the increase in students‟ enrolment over
time. This increase in enrolment resulted into situation of massification where the ratio of educational resources
and class numbers became incompatible. Using qualitative and quantitative research paradigms, the survey,
single-case and parallel cross-sectional designs, 294 respondents out of the 395 sampled population participated
in the study. The findings underscored that Institutional Autonomy and Governance play a central role in the
management of massification. The study finally concluded that although the organs of Council and Senate which
constitute the hallmark of Institutional Autonomy and Governance were well established at Gulu University
according to the Universities and Other Institutions Act (UOTIA), the University has met some challenges
especially with regards to corporate governance practices. Finally the study recommended that Gulu University
should encourage the corporate governance approach in all its management and administrative units with a view
of promoting bottom-up planning in order to yield desired outputs and targeted outcomes as well as marshal the
challenges posed by massification.

Not Your Grandma’s Oldsmobile: Navigating the Changing World of Adult Learning
The adult learner is becoming more paradoxical. He/she is becoming more technologically dependent, yet more ubiquitous, searching for equilibrium, yet looking for applicative answers to real world questions, attending courses with the intention of learning, yet desperately in need of being inspired. The world of learning theory has been addressing these issues, but bringing it altogether is the difficult part. So how does one create a learning environment for the 21st century ubiquitous, technology savvy learner who is desperate to be inspire and inspire others? Instructional Design Scholar, author and award winning educator, T M “Tim” Stafford will help unwrap this learning “trilemma” and help create an understanding of the evolution of learning, an understanding of epistemology and how to move towards transformative practice. This fun and engaging time together will inspire you to embrace the shifts in paradigm for the new breed of learner and a new level of instructional design.

Question 1
The long-standing debate about the possibility of teaching leadership is yet to find
conclusive answers. However, the continued use of educational interventions such as
seminars, courses, and retreats demonstrates that leadership can actually be taught (Kronz,
2013). The aim of the proposed thesis will be to show that participation in international
student organizations not only develops leadership skills but also helps to create international
leaders who can practice on a multinational level. Furthermore, the rising trend of
globalization has resulted in unique leadership challenges were the leaders have to work in
unfamiliar environments and to make critical decisions using limited information. In addition,
multinational leaders are expected to work with diverse teams using a very crucial skill of
cultural sensitivity that can be learned.
Multinational leaders have to learn about the geography and the general environment
of the foreign countries where they practice leadership. Conley (2013) refers to this as a shift
of leadership role from being the administrator to an anthropologist. It has evolved in due
course to become the art of establishing connections and condemning boundaries to connect
with the global communities. Therefore, participating in student organizations helps to build
connections with people/leaders from other countries on a face to face basis. This concurs
with Conley’s (2013) perception that the face to face interactions have a lasting impact than
technology-based or online interactions.
On the other hand, multinational leaders must emphasize the importance of worker
interactions. This implies that on a personal level, the leaders should first recognize the
benefits of interpersonal relations in the workplace. This is closely related to team
performance and the need for the leader to create a collaborative environment in the
workplace (Darling and Fischer, 1998). In this case, the leader gains more insight into the
issues when he/she participates in international student organizations.
The Erasmus Student Network (ESN) will be used to advance the objectives of the
proposed thesis. Founded on16th October 1989, the organization grew significantly to
become the largest student association in .

June 3, 2024 Anti-Semitism Letter Sent to MIT President Kornbluth and MIT Cor...Levi Shapiro
Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202
The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.
