The document discusses several processes used for business management and quality improvement including ISO 9001, CMMI, ITIL, COBIT, Six Sigma, and OHS. ISO 9001 aims to satisfy customers and industries worldwide through consensus-based standards. CMMI helps organizations improve performance through 5 levels of process maturity. ITIL provides a framework for managing IT services. COBIT sets best practices for IT governance. Six Sigma identifies and removes defects through a data-driven approach focused on customers. And OHS concerns protecting employee safety, health and welfare in the workplace.
This document discusses the evolution of management systems from an emphasis on products and processes to a more holistic and integrated view. It outlines four eras: the control era from 1925-1975 which focused on product characteristics; the assurance era from 1975-2000 which focused on process consistency; the management era from 2000-2012 which developed organization systems; and the integration era from 2012-2018 which combines quality, environmental, safety and security into a single view. The document then examines models for quality, environmental, safety and security management and trends toward greater integration and risk-based approaches across these systems.
This training document outlines an agenda for a QHSE (Quality Health Safety & Environmental) Awareness Training presented by Jamaluddin Ma’ruf. The one-day training covers topics such as QHSE goals and effects, quality assurance and control, hazard identification, and integrated management systems. It discusses process models for ISO 9001, OHSAS, and ISO 14001 standards. Eight principles of management are also reviewed, including customer focus, leadership, involvement of people, and continual improvement. The training aims to help audiences understand basic concepts of integrated management systems.
The document discusses integrating management standards and systems within an organization from a business perspective. It makes three key points:
1. Management systems should be integrated and embedded within normal business management activities and processes, rather than developed as separate, isolated systems. True integration covers all aspects of managing an organization.
2. An organization can be viewed as a single system with two levels - strategic and operational. Integration is needed at both levels to avoid conflicts between specialized management areas.
3. Separate management systems for individual expertises like quality, information security, or environmental protection are artificial. A consistent, balanced integration of all expertises is required as part of the overall business management system.
An Integrated Management System StandardRalph Reid
Many customers now require third party certification and/or compliance with a number of standards, e.g. ISO 9001, ISO 14001. Others such as Corporate Responsibility are on the horizon. To date, suppliers have had to determine how to address these requirements in their management systems. As you might expect, there have been various approaches. The ISO organization has promoted the idea of an integrated management system standard for a long time. They will likely be unsuccessful without sector support, e.g. automotive, aerospace. Our initial discussions with suppliers indicate a high level of interest and support for a common automotive approach working through AIAG.

The survey found that while 60% of respondents have adopted ISO 22301 in some form such as certification (10%), compliance (11%) or alignment (39%), top management commitment is still lacking in many organizations. Organizations with strong top management commitment were over 4 times more likely to adopt ISO 22301. The main benefits of certification were assurance of continued services (61%), protecting reputation (48%) and reducing risk of interruptions (48%). However, challenges included resource constraints (25%) and complexity of implementation (19%). Most organizations validated their ISO 22301 implementation through checking plans (54%) and audits (51%). Surprisingly, 82% of respondents did not require ISO 22301 certification from suppliers.
The document outlines a 10 step approach to implementing an integrated management system (IMS) that combines elements of multiple standards such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and OHSAS 18001. HCL Notes and Domino License Cost Reduction in the World of DLAUpanagenda
Webinar Recording: https://www.panagenda.com/webinars/hcl-notes-and-domino-license-cost-reduction-in-the-world-of-dlau/
The introduction of DLAU and the CCB & CCX licensing model caused quite a stir in the HCL community. As a Notes and Domino customer, you may have faced challenges with unexpected user counts and license costs. You probably have questions on how this new licensing approach works and how to benefit from it. Most importantly, you likely have budget constraints and want to save money where possible. Don’t worry, we can help with all of this!
We’ll show you how to fix common misconfigurations that cause higher-than-expected user counts, and how to identify accounts which you can deactivate to save money. There are also frequent patterns that can cause unnecessary cost, like using a person document instead of a mail-in for shared mailboxes. We’ll provide examples and solutions for those as well. And naturally we’ll explain the new licensing model.
Join HCL Ambassador Marc Thomas in this webinar with a special guest appearance from Franz Walder. It will give you the tools and know-how to stay on top of what is going on with Domino licensing. You will be able lower your cost through an optimized configuration and keep it low going forward.
These topics will be covered
- Reducing license cost by finding and fixing misconfigurations and superfluous accounts
- How do CCB and CCX licenses really work?
- Understanding the DLAU tool and how to best utilize it
- Tips for common problem areas, like team mailboxes, functional/test users, etc
- Practical examples and best practices to implement right away

Removing Uninteresting Bytes in Software FuzzingAftab Hussain
Imagine a world where software fuzzing, the process of mutating bytes in test seeds to uncover hidden and erroneous program behaviors, becomes faster and more effective. A lot depends on the initial seeds, which can significantly dictate the trajectory of a fuzzing campaign, particularly in terms of how long it takes to uncover interesting behaviour in your code. We introduce DIAR, a technique designed to speedup fuzzing campaigns by pinpointing and eliminating those uninteresting bytes in the seeds. Picture this: instead of wasting valuable resources on meaningless mutations in large, bloated seeds, DIAR removes the unnecessary bytes, streamlining the entire process.
In this work, we equipped AFL, a popular fuzzer, with DIAR and examined two critical Linux libraries -- Libxml's xmllint, a tool for parsing xml documents, and Binutil's readelf, an essential debugging and security analysis command-line tool used to display detailed information about ELF (Executable and Linkable Format). Our preliminary results show that AFL+DIAR does not only discover new paths more quickly but also achieves higher coverage overall. This work thus showcases how starting with lean and optimized seeds can lead to faster, more comprehensive fuzzing campaigns -- and DIAR helps you find such seeds.
