This document examines the technology and resources available for communication, information storage, and information sharing during four different ages: the pre-industrial age, industrial age, electronic age, and information age. In the pre-industrial age, people communicated with signs and symbols, stored information on traditional paper, and shared information via letters on papyrus. The industrial age saw the rise of the telegraph, printing press, and newspapers. In the electronic age, devices like radios, televisions, and computers emerged. Now, in the information age, people rely on web browsers, social networks, mobile phones, and social media.
