Purpose/Rationale:
• The purpose of this session is to introduce Laurel’s literacy focus, communicate middle school expectations
for staff and students, build community and create a collective vision for grade groups.
Learning Outcomes/Goal(s):
• By the end of the session grade level teams and enrichment teachers will be able to articulate school focus,
identify student level in ELA at the end of the school year, access school expectations and procedures, and
created a vision to guide their year.
